It was a lovely spring morning in the Swamp. Fiona just woke up after hearing one of her three triplet babies crying.
"Sighs don't worry dear. I got this." Fiona sighs, wrestling herself out of bed.
Shrek, her husband of two years now, just grumbled and turned around once more to sleep. Fiona quietly walks into the kitchen and makes a bottle of Swamp gunk for her kid to drink.
Walking up to her baby's nursery she sees it was Felisha who woke up. Smiling Fiona lifted her baby out and started feeding it the Swamp slush. Felisha smiles and drinks it all up.
After she was full, Felisha fell back asleep, Fiona quietly placed her kid back to bed and watched her three babies. Felisha, Farkle and Fergus sleep peacefully.
'and yet still so ugly,' Fiona thinks quietly.
Fiona leaves the hut quietly and walks outside to the Swamp bathroom. She sits by the huge pond and looks into the water, her Oger reflection stares back at her. As many a night, Fiona cried at what was looking back at her. A fat, red-haired and green-skinned monster. Nothing to show she was a princess anymore.
"But Fiona, you are beautiful," Fiona remembers Shrek's loving words as he broke her spell two years ago.
Shrek had seen something in Fiona that she wasn't even aware of herself. And back then it made her blush and love him so much more. But now she was unsure what he really meant.
Finishing her dunk in the pool Fiona left the pond, got dressed and looked up at the sky, she saw a shooting star flying above her.
Fiona smiles, even though she doesn't believe in wishes often: "Oh evening star that shines so bright above me, please hear my prayer tonight. I wish I may I wish I might-"
"Your fallen tears have called to me, so here comes my sweet remedy, I know what every princess needs for her to live life happily-" The Fairy Godmothers' voice suddenly rang.
But then stopped, Fiona screamed as she saw her Fairy Godmother explode in front of her in a mist of green and blue combined.
And landing on the ground was suddenly a black-cloaked and green-skinned Witch.
"Oh shut your trap Fairy Godmother. Your wishes always have a catch you monster," this green woman screamed at the bubbles, before laughing.
Fiona backed away, "Who are you? And what did you do to my Fairy Godmother?"
"Hu? Who? Oh, that flying fat thing? She is poofed back to her home and taking care of her Prince Charming bloke. Anyway, I'm here now to help you out." The green and black-cloaked thing said, stretching.
"Now come, I don't want others to see me do magic," The witch said, grabbing Fiona by her hand and leading her away from Shrek's swamp down the road.
The witch lead Fiona to the poisoned apple, to the furthest room in the tavern where once Puss in Boots lived. Fiona sat in there and the witch went to the bar and ordered two strong apple ciders for them to drink, without poison.
The witch returned with the jug of apple cider and two cups. She sat them down and set a candle alight before facing Fiona.
"Now sweet princess. My name is Elphaba from the land of Oz. I've travelled quite far to work my magic around the place, helping others from time to time. And I believe you are in a bit of a need?" Elphaba inquires.
She then pours them both the cider and takes a strong drink from it. Fiona looks at it very worried. Elphaba notices her not touching it.
"Oh, the Snow White eats the poison apple thing. Don't worry Fiona. This stuff may be made with poison, but it's not the sleeping type. I promise. If I wanted to destroy you I could think of better ways." Elphaba said, drinking again.
Fiona shrugs and tries a bit, true it wasn't poison but it had a VERY strong apple taste to it.
"Sorry and thanks," Fiona sighs, "It is good."
Elphaba shrugs, "Best around. Now, what is your problem? You got a loving husband, three beautiful children who are just about to turn one year old and a lot of friends. What more could you need dear?"
Fiona sighs, "It's just the way I look, so fat, green-skinned, these weird alien-looking ears and just not like a princess."
"As far as I know Fiona," Elphaba sighs, "You and Shrek gave up being the princess and prince of Far Far Away and giving it off to King Arthur, right? So technically that makes you a commoner's wife."
"Yes, but is there no way to change it?" Fiona sighs.
Elphaba almost screams, "What change it? Change you're entire life in just one day? Fiona, I think I'm not hearing right."
"I just wish for one week; when I can be treated and are a real princess. No harassment, no fear for my life and just look beautiful again." Fiona laments before herself.
"So literally re-writing your past to be beautiful again. That requires a lot of magic, but be warned Fiona," Elphaba continues, "If you change your past, you will change the past of Shrek and everyone around you too. Right? And for one week you will be back at the beginning of your tale."
Fiona blinks and stares back at Elphaba, would she really?
Quanktumspirit: "Please review."
