"Promise you'll never leave me?"
"I promise."
"Loki! Loki, please!" A hysterical voice, breaking with the loudness of the screech.
"Don't do this, brother! You loved him!" A blonde head of reason yelled at the green- clad figure.
"Love, Thor. Our love will never end, not ever in death. I'll end you pain for you, love. You won't have to suffer anymore, Tony. You'll never know how much this kills me."
Pointing his scepter at the wall connected to his love's life support, he closed his eyes, a single tear letting loose. A flare of magic shot out, letting the wall crash and burn.
Without the constant energy to the missing space where his arc- reactor should be, Tony Stark breathed his last breath.
"Hey, Loki, will you always love me?" Tony asked, his chocolate brown eyes glittering with a hidden emotion, a hidden request that was tearing him apart. A heart being ripped to shreds.
"Of course, Tony. Do you doubt me? Doubt us?" Loki murmured, curling his pale arms around the shorter man, pressing a kiss to his neck.
"Would you do anything for me, even if it would hurt a lot of people, even you?" Tony asked, closing his eyes and burying his face into Loki's shirt, avoiding the man's face, but needing for this be out.
Loki pulled back with curiosity in his eyes. "Yes, Tony. I would go to the ends of the nine realms for you. You know that. Why do you ask these questions?"
"Promise me that no matter what I tell you to do, you'll love me, but do it, even if you hate it."
"I promise no matter what you tell me to do; I will do it, and still love you, even if I loathe the deed. Now, Tony, what are these ridiculous questions for, Tony?"
A sob broke forth from full lips. Tears soaked through the taller man's shirt, and Loki grew even more worried.
"Loki, I'm dying. And you have to be the one to end my life."
His arm tightening around his lover, Loki stared blankly out at the Avengers and his brother. He felt his smaller lover take a deep breath and let out a small shaky sigh.
"Why are we here, Tony?" Natasha asked, staring at Tony with disinterested eyes.
"It better not be for something stupid again. And you better not be pregnant!" Clint sneered, rolling his eyes.
"I'm dying."
Silence filled the air.
"You… You're just kidding, right?" Steve asked, his voice quiet as everyone stared at the pair with wide eyes. Tony's eyes dropped to the floor and he shook his head.
"No."
"How long?" Bruce whispered with sad eyes.
"Two days."
"Why?" Thor murmured, unlike his normal loud, boisterous self.
"My body isn't reacting to my arc- reactor anymore. Well, it is, really, but not in a positive way. Any arc- reactor that I place inside me seems to place me significant amounts of pain. It was keeping me alive, while killing me. And now… Now it's my time."
"Tony…"
"I'm sorry."
"I love you, so much, Tony. You don't know how much it killed me to do this," He whispered, placing azaleas on the grave where the ashes released.
"I miss you, so much. Please, come back to me."
"Don't leave me, Tony."
"I love you, Loki."
"Please, don't leave me… I love you so much…"
"Why'd you have to leave me, Tony? You promised…"
I don't own The Avengers.
