"KALMER IGIBY WINGFEATHER!"
Kalmer shrunk down.
"See I told you we shouldn't have come exploring the ruins! Now he's gonna kill us." Leeli scoffed.
"I know I know, but maybe since Sara-"
"Oh no, you're not bringing me into this. Nope. I argued not to come, but since some if the younger orphans wanted to, I had to." Sara argued.
"KALMER IGIBY WINGFEATHER, YOU BETTER COME HERE OR ELSE!"
Kalmer looked for somewhere to hide. Janner's voice was getting closer to the group of children and teenagers, and Kal was not ready to face the his brother.
Kal looked at Sara frantically. "Hide me!"
Sara looked at him. "Nope. Not happening. Frankly, I'm on his side. You shouldn't have dragged us out here."
"Fine then, I'll find a place to hide myself." Kal stomped off, looking everywhere for a place to hide. But, as soon as he found a place, he felt someone grab his collar, and spin him around.
"Janner!" He hissed. But instead, he came face-to-face with Guildmaster Clout. Janner was standing behind him, along with all the teenagers from the Durgan Guild.
"Trying to run?" Clout asked.
"Uhh-" Was all that came out of Kallmers mouth.
"Kalmer, Larnik. Commence." Clout stepped backward. Janner looked at him.
"I thought you were just here for a visit? Not to teach us!" Janner complained.
Clout smirked at him. "Ok then. Janner, Churlston. Commence." Janner groaned as he got into position.
"What does commence mean?" Sara asked Leeli.
"It means to begin." Leeli replied.
"Begin what?"
"You'll see." Leeli grinned. "You might be impressed."
Sara looked to see Janner wrestling with Churlston, and Kal with Larnik. Clout overseed it all, mainly pointing out good strategies of Janner's or bad ones of Churlstons. Once Janner had Churlston pinned to the ground for at least 10 seconds, the round was over.
"Great, all I wanted was a day of peace, but I got a day of wrestling." Janner mumbled.
"Hey at least you won quickly, Larnik is hard to beat." Kal said, as Larnik punched him.
"What do you mean he's hard? He's literally the easiest guilding to beat!" Janner laughed.
"Oh really? Well, why don't you commence with him?" Kal said.
"Ok then." Janner got into position. Within 5 seconds of the match starting, Janner had Larnik pinned.
"This is why Janner was pronounced one of the top 5 best fighters in the Ban Rona school." Clout said as soon as the match ended.
"But, I have a question. Why are you all here?" Janner asked.
"Well, we came to help with rebuilding stuff and all the things like that." Clout said.
"Oh, ok then, well thanks!" Leeli said. "Did Thorn come too?"
"Oh yes he did, with Kelvey, they are with Biggin talking to your mother outside of the castle." Clout replied.
"Ok then, let's go!" Leeli led the group to the outside of the castle.
"Is this the 'Famous Thorn O'Sally' that I've heard Leeli talk about?" Sara asked Janner and Kalmer as they walked back.
"Yep, and whenever she see's him, she'll probably ditch all of us for him." Kal snickered.
"Hey, I won't ditch you guys, I'll just ask Thorn if he wants to join us!" Leeli said.
"And if he says no, then you'll ditch us." Janner said. Leeli glared at him, and Janner glared back.
"Fine then, be that way." Leeli kept walking in silence while Kal and Janner looked at each other confused. Leeli never acted that way with them. Once they arrived at the castle, there was a whole group of people being recruited to certain jobs by Artham. Nia and Arundelle stood by him, giving jobs to children that were bord. Nia saw the other children coming towards her, and she walked over to them, smiling.
"There's someone here to see you 4." Nia said. She motioned to the cellar. Janner walked in front of everybody, and walked into the cellar first. When he was inside, he found two people who were none other than Gammon Felda and Maraly Weaver.
"Well, this was unexpected! Come outside so everyone can see you." Janner shook hands with them. Once they were outside, cheers erupted from them all. Sara and Maraly hugged, Maraly and Kal tackled each other, but Janner just stood a little ways off. Leeli started to play an easy game of kickball with Gammon, obviously having forgiven him for tricking them in Kimera. But Janner still held a grudge against Gammon, even after he apologized. Sara noticed this, and after telling Maraly the events of the First Well, came and stood with him.
"Everything alright?" She asked him.
Janner sighed. "Yeah."
Sara looked at him. "You are a horrible liar, you know."
Janner laughed. "Yeah." Maraly came over, snickering at the two, having just heard the story of the First Well.
"So, I'm guessing you still have a grudge?" She asked Janner.
"Well, maybe, I don't know. It's always possible." He replied.
"Well, you need to move on. Gammon apologized for what he did to us."
Janner looked at her. "I mean, it hurt different. You wouldn't understand. You weren't apart of the deal, I was."
"I know, but I was still there when he handed you over. I mean, think of it as his plan to protect you from the fangs, not hand you over to them."
Sara had no idea what they were talking about. She hadn't heard about everything that had happened to Janner after he'd left the Fork! Factory!.
"Well, I suppose that is a good way to look at things. But I don't know if I'll trust him again." Janner walked off.
"What were you two talking about?" Sara asked. Maraly told her the whole story, and at the end. Sara understood why Janner didn't trust Gammon yet. Janner had walked off and was talking with his mother. Sara thought about how much Janner must have been through the last few months. A lot of trauma, that's for sure. She felt sad for him having to go through all of that. Maraly meanwhile was oblivious to it all, and was playing tackleball with Kalmer and Thorn. Leeli was referee, and was suspiciously saying things that were letting Thorn win. Sara went and sat down by Leeli, watching Artham as he and Gammon had a sword duel.
"You should see Janner with a sword. Yesterday he disarmed me." Artham said, grinning. Sara was exploring with Kal and Leeli yesterday, so she didn't know what had gone on by the cellar.
"Did he? Well, he against me sounds like a good game!" Gammon said. "Hey Janner!" Gammon called Janner over, who seemed like he was already warming up to Gammon.
"I challenge you to a sword duel." Gammon said.
"Challenge accepted." Janner got into position, while pulling his sword out. Artham got between the two explaining rules while a crowd got to watch the match. Artham signaled and the match began. Surprising everyone, the match took a long time before Gammon had Janner tired out enough to disarm him. Everyone thought that Gammon would be able to quickly disarm the Throne Warden, but their judgments were wrong.
"Good game?" Gammon stretched his hand out to shake Janner's.
"Good game." Janner shook his hand.
