Lily Jasmine Evans POV
L.A, California
I stepped out of Sirius' car and looked around in awe. Even though I had not grown up in Los Angeles, California, as I was from Britain, I had never been to an illegal street race, even a magical one. Sirius had done her make-up and picked out my outfit for the night; a black mini skirt and a silver tank top, to which he had added black stiletto heels. My eyeshadow was a silver color, which made my eyes look brighter than usual.
The whole place had a strange and exciting air to it, and I couldn't help but feel a bit of adrenaline rush as I studied the scene around me. With its neon lights, booming music, and the rumbling of engines, it was like entering another world.
I followed Sirius as he walked up to the group of people in the middle of the crowd. She watched as they started talking and haggling; the air filled with the smell of burnt rubber and gasoline. I had never seen anything like this before.
Finally, Sirius handed the person in charge a wad of cash and they both smiled devilishly. It was time to start the race.
I watched in awe as the cars roared down the street, headlights flashing and engines rumbling in the night air. There was no shortage of daring moves and fast getaways as Sirius weaved in and out of the other drivers. In the end, he was victorious, and I cheered with the crowd as the name "Sirius" echoed throughout the night.
I couldn't believe what she had just witnessed. I couldn't believe that Sirius had just won an illegal street race, and that I had been part of it all. I didn't know what else to do but smile.
When we got there, I never imagined that I would meet my pen pal since I was five, Dominic Toretto.
And so, I was excited to see him as it had been years since he had written to me. And I have never seen his face up close, only in photos. Letty, I hear is with Tran by rumor from his cousin.
"Dominic Toretto! As I live and breathe. In your last letter you'd said you'd visit me Toretto!" I said, with my redheaded temper showing.
"Lily Evans! I never thought you'd come, what with your upcoming wedding." Dom says.
"Upcoming wedding? I am single! Does it look like my ring finger has a tan line?!" I shriek.
"But Potter said he was..." Dom says, and my redheaded temper shows as I growl and start cursing up a storm.
"I am not marrying Potter! He is a brother figure and is marrying Dorcas Meadowes! Yes, he said he was getting married, but never to whom, since the Dark Lord is after his family! I would want to marry you!" I shriek and then cover my mouth, as I can't believe I told him I all but developed feeling for him over a pen pal program.
Dom smiled and pulled me close. "Then it's a good thing I feel the same way," he said. I couldn't believe it had all worked out this way. After all these years of writing to each other, it had all led up to this moment; the moment where our true feelings had been revealed.
Tears filled my eyes as I looked up at Dom. "Do you really mean it," I asked.
He nodded and pulled me close. I could feel his heartbeat as he hugged me tight. His warm embrace filled me with a sense of comfort that I had never felt before.
May 30th, 1997
I had two bridesmaids, my best friends since childhood, to help me up the aisle. One of them was crying already, while the other kept me laughing to alleviate the overwhelming nerves.
The sun shone on the outdoor ceremony, and I felt as if everyone was looking at me as I walked down the aisle. The moment I caught Dom's eye, I was sure he could see the love and admiration I held for him. We exchanged vows and kissed for what seemed like eternity.
The reception afterwards was so much fun, and it was wonderful to see my friends and family all celebrating this special time. The evening ended with us jumping into the back seat of a limo, driving away from our wedding towards our new life together.
Everything I had ever dreamed of was what I had been working towards. All the hours I had spent planning, the stress and effort they had both put into the day. Finally, it was all worth it.
Dom and I were married on May 30th, 1997.
October 2, 1998
October 2, 1998 was a day I had been looking forward to for some time. After a blissfully happy marriage to Dom Toretto, we had been blessed with twin babies nine weeks ago on July 31, 1998; Antonio Giotto Toretto and Costanza Donata Toretto.
Today was the babies' baptism, and I was filled with joy. Dom and I had wanted to celebrate our little family by baptizing the children close to home, so we had chosen the beautiful Our Lady of Guadalupe church in Dom's hometown of Los Angeles, California.
As Dom and I prepared the babies for the ceremony, I looked around the quaint living room of the house we shared, 1327 Echo Park. Since our wedding a year prior, we had been living with Dom's sister Mia Toretto; and here, in the early morning, I was grateful for the support of both Dom and Mia.
Taking a deep breath, I took Antonio and Costanza, who were only nine weeks old, out of their cribs and began to carefully dress them in the special outfits Mia and I had chosen for the big day.
The two babies were so beautiful that they drew jealous glances of admiration from the other families attending the ceremony. Dom and I were soon joined by Dom's best friend, Vince, who had come to be the babies' godfather, with Letty as the godmother.
Wrapping them in warm blankets, Dom and I carried the babies into the church and up to the altar, where the priest waited. I stood by in awe as the twins were baptized and entered the hands of God and his protection.
The baptism was a beautiful moment, and for me, the best day of my life. I told the priest that I would carry Antonio and Costanza in one arm and the love of God in the other, throughout their lives and beyond.
I cannot wait to see as they grow.
