Chapter 1: The beginning
Inside the Potter manor, James and Lily were in a room discussing the idea of blood-adopting their goddaughter, Andromeda. James was a tall, thin man standing at about six feet and four inches, with untidy black hair that stuck up at the back and hazel eyes that sparkled in the light. He wore black clothing and gold-rimmed glasses, exuding an air of elegance and sophistication. Sitting beside him was Lily, his wife, with thick, dark red hair that cascaded down her shoulders and almond-shaped, bright green eyes that mesmerized anyone who looked into them. On her lap was a newborn child, Andromeda, with dark black hair and beautiful sea-green eyes that resembled the ocean.
Lily was hesitant about blood-adopting Andromeda, and she questioned James, "James, are you absolutely certain about this?"
"Lily-flower, I am positive that the only way Andromeda can utilize my family's magic and inherit the Potter fortune is if we blood-adopt her," replied James, who had been thinking about this for a while.
He proceeded to slice his wrist over a cauldron in front of him, and then he handed the knife to Lily, adding, "Lily, I need you to add a bit of your blood to the cauldron."
Accepting the knife from her husband, Lily sliced her wrist and let her blood flow into the cauldron. James stirred the mixture a few times before stopping.
"It's finished," announced James. "The potion for formally blood-adopting her is done. We only need her to drink the entire vial and then return the papers to Gringotts."
But before they could proceed, Lily remembered what Dumbledore had mentioned to them the other day. "James, before we proceed, do you remember what Dumbledore mentioned the other day?"
"Yes," said James, bringing his thumb and index finger to his chin. "Let me check the prophecy."
Lily recited the prophecy, "The one with the power to vanquish the Dark Lord approaches... Born to those who have thrice defied him, born as the Tenth month dies... and the Dark Lord will mark him as his equal, but he will have power the Dark Lord knows not... and either must die at the hand of the other for neither can live while the other survives... The one with the power to vanquish the Dark Lord will be born as the Tenth month dies..."
James pondered on this for a moment before asking, "What does this have to do with Andromeda?"
Raising an eyebrow, Lily answered, "Andromeda was born on October 31st. If Voldemort heard a fragment of the prophecy, he will come after us."
James was aghast at this revelation. "Then we'll cast the Fidelius charm on our home and have Sirius as our secret keeper."
"That's too conspicuous," Lily objected. "Let's have Peter be our secret keeper."
"Agreed and Dumbledore could cast the charm. It'll keep us secure for the time being," James concluded.
The couple worked together to ensure that they could protect their family from any possible harm. They proceeded to blood-adopt Andromeda, and Dumbledore cast the Fidelius charm on their home with Peter as their secret keeper. For the time being, they were safe, but they knew that the looming threat of Voldemort would require them to remain vigilant and prepared for whatever came their way.
Potter Cottage
It was a fateful night in the wizarding world, the night of October 31, 1981. The air was thick with magic and tension as three figures stood outside Potter cottage. The first man, with white skin and long, wavy black hair, wore black robes. The second man, with the face of a rat and long, bushy dirty blond hair, also wore black robes. The final man had his face covered with robes, leaving his identity a mystery.
The man with the covered face spoke with a cold and menacing tone. "Snape, destroy the wards. Pettigrew, stand guard and kill anyone who tries to interfere. With the death of the Potters, no one will be able to stop me. Snape, I will try to keep the girl alive."
Snape obeyed the order and slowly cut through the wards one by one, using his wand to dismantle the protective enchantments surrounding the house. As he worked, the half-moon rose higher and began to glow with an eerie light. With each flash, a single ward fell.
Inside the house, alarm bells were going off. James Potter was frantically searching for his wand as he called out to his wife, Lily. "Lily, take Andromeda and run. Voldemort is here. If I survive this, I am going to kill that rat!"
Just then, a bright flash of green light lit up the room, and the door swung open. James instinctively tackled the figure who had entered the house, wrestling him to the ground. A fierce fight ensued, with James fighting valiantly to protect his family.
Voldemort was a skilled wizard, and he eventually threw James back with a burst of dark magic. In a fit of rage, he yelled "Avada Kedavra!" and a green beam shot from his wand, hitting James squarely in the chest. James fell to the ground, lifeless.
Meanwhile, Voldemort slowly made his way upstairs. Debris littered the stairs and hallway, slowing him down. But he was determined to complete his mission. He finally reached the room at the far end of the hallway, where Lily Potter stood with her wand in hand, protecting her child.
"Crucio!" Voldemort yelled, casting the curse of torture at Lily. A red light flew from his wand, narrowly missing Lily and hitting the wall behind her. "Step aside, girl," he snarled.
But Lily would not be moved. "You will not kill Andromeda today. You will have to kill me first before you even think about killing Andromeda," she declared with a fierce determination in her voice.
"Then so be it," responded Voldemort.
A black and purple beam charged towards Voldemort from Lily's wand. It was a curse from House Evans, and Voldemort recognized it from his fight with Rufus Evans. "Avada Kedavra," he yelled, using his most powerful killing curse. The green beam of the Killing Curse met with Lily's black and purple beam. The two curses struggled to overcome each other, the air crackling with energy before the curse slowly hit Lily's chest. She fell to the ground, lifeless.
For a brief moment, Andromeda's skin glowed a dim red colour. The magical protection that Lily had placed on her child had worked. But Voldemort was not finished yet. He pointed his wand toward Andromeda's head and yelled, "Avada Kedavra!" The green light of the killing curse hit her in the head, but Andromeda's skin emitted a bright red glow, forcing the curse to rebound and hit Voldemort on the head. His body was destroyed, leaving a lightning bolt-shaped scar on Andromeda's forehead. A black misty substance settled inside her scar.
Number 4, Privet Drive, Little Whinging in Surrey, England
It is the night of the full moon, and outside the small house, there is a small tabby cat. Who has been watching the house since the morning. Inside the house, the Dursleys are fast asleep.
The cat was watching the corner when a man appeared. In such a sudden and silent manner, you'd have thought he'd just popped up out of nowhere. There was a twitch in the cat's tail, and its eyes narrowed.
Privet Drive had never seen a man like this before. By the silver of his hair and beard, long enough to tuck into his belt, he was tall, thin, and very old. High-heeled, buckled boots complemented his flowing robes and a purple cloak. With his half-moon spectacles, his blue eyes were bright, sparkling, and long, with a crooked nose. The man's name was Albus Dumbledore.
Albus began searching through his robes as if he was looking for something. Soon he realized he was being watched and stared at the cat; he stared at the cat for a moment and muttered, "I should have known."
Eventually, he found what he was looking for in his pocket and pulled out what looked like a rather large lighter. Clicking on it once put out a streetlight, so he had to continuously click the button until all the lights in the streets were out on the only light that was lit was the light of the full moon, which was now blood red and larger than normal. Putting the object in his pocket, he said, "Fancy seeing you here, Professor McGonagall."
When he turned to smile at the tabby, it was gone. In fact, it was a woman with square glasses wearing the same markings around her eyes as the cat. He smiled at her. The cloak she wore was emerald in colour. The black hair on her head was twisted into a tight bun. A ruffled look appeared on her face.
"How did you know it was me?" she asked.
"My dear Professor, I've never seen a cat sit so stiffly."
"You'd be stiff if you'd been sitting on a brick wall all day," said Professor McGonagall.
"All day? When you could have been celebrating? I must have passed a dozen feasts and parties here."
An angry glare appeared on her face as she sniffed angrily. "Celebrating alright, I rather keep the statue of secrecy. Even the muggles have noticed something."
"You can't blame them," said Dumbledore gently. "We've had precious little to celebrate for eleven years."
"I know that," said Professor McGonagall irritably. "However, that is no reason for us to lose our heads. People are being careless, walking around in broad daylight without even dressing in Muggle clothes or exchanging rumours."
As she glanced sideways at Dumbledore here, hoping he would say something, he didn't, so she continued. A fine thing would be if the Muggles discovered about us on the very day You-Know-Who seems to have vanished. So, he's gone now, Dumbledore?"
"It certainly seems so," said Dumbledore. "We have much to be thankful for."
"As I said, even if You-Know-Who has passed away —"
"My dear Professor, surely a sensible person like yourself can call him by name. All this 'You-Know-Who' nonsense — I have been trying to persuade people to call him by his proper name: Voldemort, for eleven years."
Professor McGonagall flinched, but Dumbledore, unsticking two lemon drops, seemed not to notice. "It all gets so confusing if we keep saying 'You-Know-Who.' I have never seen any reason to be intimidated by Voldemort."
"I know you haven't," said Professor McGonagall, sounding half exasperated and admiring. "But you're different. Everyone knows you're the only one Voldemort was scared of.
"You flatter me," said Dumbledore calmly. "Voldemort had powers I would never dream of."
"Only because you're too noble to use them."
"It's lucky it's dark. I haven't blushed so much since Madam Pomfrey told me she liked my new earmuffs."
"they say Voldemort turned up in Godric's Hollow last night. He set out to find the Potters. Rumour has it that Lily and James Potter are dead."
Dumbledore bowed his head. Professor McGonagall gasped with tears streaming down her face. "Lily and James . . . I can't believe it. . . I didn't want to believe it. . . Oh, Albus . . ."
Dumbledore reached out and patted her on the shoulder. "I know. . .. I know . . ." he said heavily.
As she continued, Professor McGonagall's voice trembled. "Besides that, they say he tried to kill Andromeda Potter, the daughter of the Potters. But he couldn't. That little boy couldn't be killed. Despite not knowing why or how they're saying that Voldemort's power somehow broke when he couldn't kill Andromeda Potter — and that's why he's gone." Dumbledore nodded glumly. McGonagall faltered. "Is this true?"
"In light of all the things he's done. . . all the people he's killed. . . he couldn't kill a little boy? It's just astounding. . . of all the things that could stop him. But how in the name of heaven did Andromeda survive?"
"We can only guess," said Dumbledore. "We may never know."
Under her spectacles, McGonagall dabbed her eyes with a lace handkerchief. While examining a golden watch in his pocket, Dumbledore sniffed deeply. It was an odd watch. Miniature planets were moving around the edge of the watch; it had twelve hands but no numbers. Dumbledore must have understood since he put it back in his pocket and said, "Hagrid's late." By the way, did he tell you I would be here?"
"Yes," said Professor McGonagall. "And I don't suppose you're going to tell me why you're here, of all places?"
"I've come to bring Andromeda to her aunt and uncle. They're the only family he has left now."
"It can't be the people who live here, can it?" cried Professor McGonagall, jumping to her feet and pointing at number four. "Dumbledore — you can't. I've been watching them all day. You couldn't find two people who were less like us. And they've got this son — I saw him kicking his mother all the way up the street, screaming for sweets. Andromeda Potter, come and live here!"
"He will thrive here," asserted Dumbledore firmly. "When she's older, her aunt and uncle can explain everything to him. I wrote them a letter."
"A letter?" asked Professor McGonagall faintly, sitting back on the wall. Dumbledore, do you think you can explain all this in a letter? These people will never understand her! I do not doubt that he'll be famous - a legend - one day; it may even be referred to as Andromeda Potter Day. Books will be written about him - every child will know her name."
"Exactly," said Dumbledore, looking serious behind her half-moon glasses. "Any child would be turned by it. Famous before she can even walk or talk! she will be famous for something she won't even remember! What a better life she'll have grown up away from all that until he's ready to handle it!"
Professor McGonagall opened her mouth, changed her mind, swallowed, and then said, "Yes, you are right, of course.". How is she getting here?" She glanced at his cloak as though he might hide Andromeda underneath it.
"Hagrid's bringing her."
"You think it wise to trust Hagrid with something as important as this?"
"I would trust Hagrid with my life," said Dumbledore. "I'm not saying his heart isn't in the right place," added Professor McGonagall grudgingly, "but you can't pretend he's not careless. He tends to — what was that?"
Their silence had been broken by a low rumbling sound. A huge motorcycle fell from the sky and landed on the road in front of them as they looked up and down the street, looking for a headlight. The sound increased to a roar as they both stared up at the sky.
Although the motorcycle was massive, it was nothing to the man riding it. He was five times taller and twice as wide as a normal man. It was impossible to allow him into the facility because he looked so big and wild — his bushy black hair and beard hid most of his face, his hands were the size of trash can lids, and his leather boots looked like baby dolphins on his feet. He held a bundle of blankets in his large, muscular arms.
"Professor Dumbledore, Sir. Professor McGonagall" Greeted the tall man to the two professors that were standing watching him as he got off the bike carrying a baby bundle.
"No problems, I trust, Hagrid?" asked Dumbledore with a twinkle in his eyes.
"No, sir. Little tyke fell asleep just as we were flying over Bristol. Heh. Try not to wake her. There you go," responded Hagrid while handing the baby in his arms to Dumbledore.
Dumbledore takes the baby, which is wrapped in a pale pink blanket. Her head has a lightning bolt-shaped scar that has a pitch-black glow. Walking over to the doorstep, he places the baby on the porch. From behind him, you can hear Hagrid sniffle as if he is crying.
"There, there, Hagrid. It's not really goodbye, after all," stated Dumbledore, who turned to Hagrid to soothe him.
Nodding, Hagrid gave Dumbledore a letter. Taking the letter, he places it on top of Andromeda before saying, "Good luck...Andromeda Potter."
Hagrid, Dumbledore, and McGonagall stay there for a couple of minutes before McGonagall apparates away. The next one to leave is Hagrid, who leaves on the bike he came in with. Then finally, Dumbledore leaves by portkey after returning the street lights back to normal.
Unknowingly to the group for a while, an Eastern European with black hair and black glasses was sitting in the driver's seat of a 1980 Chevy G10 cargo van looking at the group with an intriguing interest. Actually, he is gazing at the baby girl who they are dropping off at the doorstep. Looking at the badge that he has clipped in his breast pocket, you can see the name Gregori Dreykov written in Russian and the flag of the Soviet Union blow as well as a picture of him dressed in a red army uniform.
"I got you now, Andromeda Potter," he mutters under his breath.
He waits for thirty minutes to pass before getting out of the car and walking over. He violently grabs Andromeda and the letter on top of her before stabbing her with a sedative to ensure she is asleep. Bringing the child to his chest, he whispers in her ear, "The Red Room is your home now."

Inside a tent, a man was treating an injured girl lying on a bed. He is an extremely handsome man, being as tall and muscular and bronzed as a Baywatch lifeguard, with long golden hair tied back in a "man bun" and eyes that shone like the sun this is the god, Apollo.
Across from the bed is a girl of around twelve or thirteen. She had a face of such beauty that it could make any man catch his breath, coldSead bright eyes as silvery yellow as the winter, and auburn hair gathered back in a ponytail. This is the Goddess Artemis.
Artemis looks at her injured hunter, then at Apollo, and asks, "How is she?"
