Age of Lions

Chapter 1

A Fallen Hero

Somewhere hidden in the deepest magical enchanted forest of Puzzlewood. Lies a secret village, home to the natives, people born with bright, pure, silver hair. Whom wield the most powerful and ancient magic. Blessed, lent to them by their very own animal spirit. Some say they are wizards, warriors, or even say human beings that turn to the most ferocious beasts. The were known as the Silver Lions and their home was called, Haven.

Their leader and chief, Axton the Loyal, looked upon his village through the window from his own built out from the forest trees into the quarters, a home, made in the tallest, great, tree. . A place where their leader watches over to protect and guide his people, keeping peace, and even help those from beyond the veil in need of saving. He sees his village, houses built and made from stone, people picking the apples and berries from trees and bushes, children playing sword fight with their sticks, protectors training in their grounds strengthening their skills. Axton could have not been more proud of his beautiful home.

A falcon soared through the sky flying straight towards Axton carrying a message inside a pack tied to it's pack. Axton saw the bird coming in from the bright shining sun and lifting out his arm allowing the winged creature to perch. The falcon tucked his wings diving in from the air, then pulled back reopening it's wings, slowed down and flapped, landing it's talons on Axton's wrist. Axton gentle pet his feathery friend's chest with a smile. "Good to see you, Grey." He brought out a dead mouse he'd caught as one of their treats and fed him. "What news did you bring, my friend?" Axton removed the carrier from the Falcon's back, opened the lid with his available thumb, set the bird down to a nearby wooden bird perch to use his other hand to take the scrolled up letter from the inside, unrolled the paper and carefully read each and every word. Axton's face hardened from what was written to him, and must rely on his two most best warriors he'd trained before he became Chieftan of Haven.

. . .

A young male lion accompanied by his mate close around to their early twenty's arrived at the great tree and bowed their heads in respect to their leader sitting at his desk. "Master Axton," the young man greeted. "We were told that wanted our presence?"

"Yes, Leo," Axton replied, as he rose from his seat. "One of our scouts, had just informed us of a troll attack in one of England's small villages."

"Probably another of one of Orlagk's Gumm-Gumm's," the young lioness believed crossing her arms. "There's not doubt that he would do such a thing. But why be so concerned about this and let the Trollhunter handle it? I mean, didn't we agree to not step into trollkind's affairs or pick anymore fights?"

"This isn't an attack from the Gumm-Gumm's my dear Zelda. And the Trollhunter has turned back on his duty." Axton walked over to his window with his hands behind his back.

"How can that be?" she asked.

Axton turned toward and face with a serious look, "Because Merlin's creation has fallen and been cast under a dark spell. Causing him to go rogue and attacking the innocent." He came over to approach them, "Which is why I need you two to go and do whatever it means to put a stop to him. Before he could hurt and do anymore harm. But remember." A giant ghostly silver lion appeared behind him shining it's elegant fur and icy cold eyes before them. "Our power. . .our connection to our lion spirits is great. So that would mean someone will want it. Do not tell anyone or let them know what you are, and conceal our identity. Because if our enemies know they will most likely hunt us down."

"That won't be an issue, Master Axton. Because there is no way that they'll be able to catch us, because we're too fast. And too strong for anyone to take us on," Leo assured pounding a fist into his palm.

"Don't get overconfident, Leo." Axton said to him. "And do not underestimate Tellad-Urr or Orlagk. They're a lot more resourceful and stronger than they look. Now go."
