Now Sakura wakes to find herself thrown back in her Genin days the day she graduates the academy.

Chapter One – Back in Time-

Sakura was with her parents having dinner, her mother was taunting her about having so special skills as a ninja, which in turn irritated Sakura. She was the apprentice of the fifth Hokage, she had worked so hard to gain strength and to become Konoha's second best medical ninja, only after her teacher and soon she would surpass even Lady Tsunade and become the second legendary sanin.

"Why are you always going on about stuff that doesn't matter? I'm not a little kid anymore! I've worked and trained a lot to come as far as I have! Why can't you see that and for once just once recognize my strength as a ninja!?" Sakura huffed at her mother as she sat at the entrance of their home putting on her knee high ninja boots making her escape out of her home and away from her mother.

"Hold on! I'm not done talking to you!" Her mother shouted back at Sakura as her daughter started walking out the door and slamming it in the process.
"Just stop butting into my life." The pink haired kunoichi sighed as she ran down the stairs of her home seeing Naruto walking by in the bust night streets of Konoha. Seeing this as a perfect way to quickly escape her mother who was now calling her name, she grabbed Naruto by the wrist and drags him away with her.

"Come on! You're going on a date with me! Let's go!" She states as she pulls her blonde teammate along with her. His bright blues eyes scanning his teammate having an idea what was wrong witnessing the pink haired girl's argument with her parents earlier that day about submissions to become a jounin.
"Uh-sure, okay. I'm up for some fun, but based on the way this dates starting I doubt-ahhrugh" Naruto stumbles as Sakura yells at him to shut up, now grabbing Naruto ear and pulling him harder towards the park. "I'm pretty sure blowing off steam doesn't count as a date! Hey Sakura let up!" Naruto shouts. The two teammates arrive at the park they used to all play at before their academy days.

Naruto sat on a swing lost in his thoughts about his parents, thinking of how he was robbed by the nine tails when the beast attacked the village. Robbed of his 'be safe's, I love yous, and welcome home's', he never had a birthday with them, he was never trained by them, and worst of all he never had any stories of them and until recently he didn't even know his parents were hero's. Looking up at his teammate who was standing on the swing next to him swaying back and forth he broke the calm silence between them.

"Uhh Sakura kinda sounded like your mom wanted you to come back."
"It's best to leave her alone. She's always like this, butting in on every little part of every little thing that you do and trying to tell you exactly how you should be doing it! My dad is no better either! Would it be so hard to take my side occasionally? But no, he always take's her side…." Sakura vented to Naruto looking to her side to see his empty expression. She sighed as she stopped swinging and sat down her boots firmly pressed in the dirt to prevent anymore movement of the swing. She ran her fingers through her short pink locks of hair, her emerald eyes closing just a bit.

"I-I just..really, what bothers me is they don't ever notice how far I've come, they always belittle me and make me feel useless. Never taking notice of my skills as a ninja, just always telling me I'm not special, which I know I'm not but at the same time I know I am. I may not be as strong as you Naruto but I'm getting there. They just always seem to underestimate me and my skills. Sometimes I think I'd be better off without them." Sakura sighed knowing that her venting of her parents was upsetting Naruto. Naruto kept looking at her with his eyes stern, obviously getting upset by her words.
"You know what- Okay I think that you're going a bit too far now." Naruto to say but Sakura cut him off.

"Naruto I didn't mean to upset you I-I..it's just I don' think you-." Sakura was stopped mid-sentence noticing strange symbols glowing on the ground around Naruto.
"It's been a while Naruto Uzamaki." Both of the young shinobi look up to see Madara, Naruto being completely oblivious to the marking on the ground that now dimmed.
"So it's you Madara!" Naruto yells as he created a shadow clone, forming the Rasengan, he charges the masked Akatsuki leader. The blow never hits as it goes right through the sitting criminal. Sakura notices the circle around Naruto disappearing and reappearing after Naruto lands from his previous attack on Madara.
"Things never change." Madara chuckled. Sakura takes this chance to leap into action leading with her own attack gathering chakra in her foot jumping to slam her leg on Madara.
"Chaaaaaa!" Sakura screams but It's useless, Madara disappears and reappears a few feet from the crater Sakura created where previously stood.

"I won't let you attack our village" Sakura bits out, her emerald eyes glowing with so much force at the S- ranked criminal.
"This is unplanned. But it doesn't matter." Madara exclaims as he grabs a orb out of his black coat the has red clouds splatter across it, now tossing the orb up an down in his gloved hand. Both Naruto and Sakura see him throw the orb into the air one last time as it covers the moon glowing a dark red. Naruto doesn't take his eyes off it, but Sakura looks down to see the writing glow again around Naruto on the soil. Without thinking she pushes Naruto out of the glowing with her body.

Split seconds seemed like hours, everything playing in slow motion. Narutos bright blue eyes wide and strained as he glances at Sakura, Sakura mouthing 'I'm sorry, goodbye.' Tears flooding her eyes.
"Wha-What! No!" Screams Madara, knowing something went wrong with his plan feeling himself drift into a unknown abyss.
'I'm sorry Naruto, I'm sorry for being so insensitive. Please forgive me, please get Sasuke back..I leave it to you now' Sakura thought in her head hoping Naruto could see what she was thinking from looking in her eyes. Next thing she saw was black. Naruto shocked falls and lands on his bottom.
"Sa-Sak-Sakura." He whispers not knowing what to do, teammate disappeared before his eyes. How could he not have noticed something going on. It was just like her to notice everything and now he had no idea where she was. Naruto gaze snapped back to where Madara was just before to find he had disappeared as well leaving no trace of his whereabouts.

Sakura was surrounded by darkness all black, but she started to hear chirping of birds, and kids playing, sounds of laughter filled her ears.
'Am I dead…"

"Sakura…Sakura…SAKURA!" Sakura jolted awake looking into the eyes of her mother.
"Mom?" Sakura asked looking around to find herself back in her room.
"Sakura dear you're going to be late to your graduation you better get up and get ready I got breakfast ready for you in the kitchen." Sakura satin bed dumbfounded did her mom just say graduation? Sakura scrambled to her feet noticing her level of eyesight being shorter as so ran to her mirror.
"AHHHHHHHHHHH! WHAT!?" Sakura screamed not believing what she saw. She was 12 years old again looking at herself from all those years ago.
'You've got to be kidding me!" Sakura sighed.

"Sakura honey? What's going on are you ok?" She heard her mom calling.
"Y-Yes I'm fine ..I just didn't realize how late I slept in.." Sakura replied quickly trying to gather herself.
'Ok Sakura pull yourself together…So you are back to being 12 years old again…you may not have your stamina anymore but you can always train, and you still have all your knowledge of everything you've learned but you gotta be careful..ahh man this doesn't make any sense this was supposed to be for Naruto but-but wait I know I heard Madara before this happened something went wrong. He didn't mean to send me here, something went wrong in his plan..I don't know for sure what's going on but I need to play it cool and see what exactly is going on before I con fully devise a plan.' Sakura calmly thought to herself as she opened her closet. Seeing her red outfit from her younger days she cringed thinking there was no way she was going to wear that again.

Instead, she grabbed a dark marron sleeveless shirt with her family emblem on the back, that landed just above her bellybutton and some black spandex shorts that went mid-thigh. Not fulling loving her choice she added a strapless mess shirt that covered any exposed skin on her stomach and thigh high black fishnet stockings, pleased with herself she pulled her longhair up in a high ponytail letting her long pink bangs frame her face. She ran out of her room grabbed some toast off the table, grabbed her black ninja sandals and ran out the door.
"Bye!" She called as the door shut behind her.

"Sakura! You need to-"Her mother sighed as her only daughter ran out the door.
"Did something seem different about her dear?" Sakura's dad asked while munching on a piece of toast, Sakura mother sighed as the continued washing the dishes.

Sakura ran through the village trying her hardest to make it on time to the academy, she ran through the halls and finally made it to her class. She opened the doors to see everyone from her Genin days. Ino, Shkiamaru, Choji, Hinata, Shino, Kiba, Naruto, and…Sasuke; they were all here, everything was what it was like back then. Shikamaru being lazy, Choji eating his snack, Ino bothering Sasuke trying to get his attention somehow, Hinata with Kiba and Shino all talking, well Kiba and Shino were talking while Hinata blushed madly gazing at Naruto, and finally Naruto smiling and waving like an idiot at her while Sasuke had his eyes closed with his hands folded in front of him. Her heart skipped a beat, this was real she was somehow thrown back in time.

"Sakura! Naruto called to her. "Wanna sit next to me?" Naruto called to her motioning to the seat that was empty which was right next to Sasukes.
"Sakura can't sit there! I was just about to ask Sasuke-Kun if I could sit there! Tell her she can't sit there Sasuke!" Ino yelled while gazing at Sasuke. Sasuke merely ignored her and sighed. "Annoying." Sakura felt like her heart was going to explode. He was there Sasuke was in the village he hadn't left yet to find his revenge, and if Sakura had it her way, he would never leave the village.

" Naruto-Kun I'll sit next to you Sakura said as she smiled brightly at Naruto. Naruto blushed feeling a burst of happiness explode inside him expecting Sakura to say no or something along the lines of I'll sit next to Sasuke but not you idiot to come from the pink haired girl.
"What!? Really Sakura! Haha!" Naruto laughed nervously.
"Forehead what do you think you're doing! You can't sit next to Sasuke-Kun you didn't even ask him!" Ino fumed from her seat trying to make her way to Sasuke to take the seat next to him. Sakura merely ignored the blonde girl and sat down next to Naruto and Sasuke. Not knowing what to say to Sasuke, she turned her back towards him and started chatting with Naruto. This infuriated Ino.

Sasuke looked at the pink haired girl who has her back towards him. 'No squealing today from her? That's weird she didn't even acknowledge me. Something seems off about her.. like I care.' Sasuke thought to himself as he slightly opened his eyes to look at the girl who sat down next to him. Sakura could feel Sasukes eyes on her back for a split second, feeling her heart skip a beat.

'This is strange..I'm so close to Sasuke but I still feel as far as ever from him..everyone seems the exact same.' Sakura thought as she continued talking to Naruto. The pink haired kunoichi slightly turned her gaze towards Sasuke which Naruto took notice of. 'I finally got Sakura to talk to me and she's lost in her own head about that Sasuke guy…hmm what's so great about him anyways..' Naruto began thinking as he stood on the table sitting directly in front of Sasuke with his knees almost to his chin. Sakura took notice of this remembering what was to come. With almost invisible speed Sakura pushing herself in between Naruto and Sasuke and the kid in the front row stands up pushing Naruto down causing him to fall. Naruto is pushed off the table landing on the ground while Sakura is now sprawled out on Sasukes lap.
"Uhh..G-Gomen Sasuke.." Sakura mumbles as she quickly regains her footing and calls out to Naruto to ask if he's ok. Naruto is in complete shock. How did Sakura react so quickly? He now looks at his first crush seeing her mouth move but no words coming out. He Shakes his head.
"Uh what did you say Sakura-chan? Hehe " He asks while scratching his blonde lock, feeling relieved and a bit embarrassed by what could of just happened.
"I asked if you're ok Naruto-kun." Sakura sighed as she watched Naruto get up from the ground, cheeks red from embarrassment, returning to his set next to Sakura. Sasuke looked over at the two who were sitting next to him. 'How did she react so quickly her back was turned the entire time." Sasuke wondered as he heard an annoying and loud shriek.

"Ahhh Sasuke-Kun are you ok!?" Ino yelled enraged that Sakura was just in his lap. "Did that billboard brow hurt you!?" Sasuke merely closed his eyes letting out a small "Tck annoying." Sakura mentally slapped herself in her head sighing "I really wish Ino and I weren't so childish back then..its almost unbearable to let her act like that..how embarrassing..' Sakura cheeks barely showed a tint of pink, not from falling into Sasukes lap but from remembering what could have happened and if she didn't intervene. She looked back to Sasuke to find his eyes were still starting at her from a side glance.

"Uh..are you ok Sasuke?" Sakura asked while using her left hand to gran her right arm, closing her eyes not wanting to see his reaction.
"Hn. I'm fine." He mumbled out while completely closing his eyes waiting for their teacher, Iruka, to come in and assign them their new three-man teams. Sakura let go of her arm and mumbled something incoherently under her breath along the lines of 'never changes', Sasuke heard this but ignored it as the door slid open to reveal Iruka sensei.

"From this day forward, you are no longer mere students of ninjutsu, but full-fledged shinobi. But among the ranks of shinobi, you are mere novices lowest of the low. Your greatest challenges all lie ahead. The next step is the assignment of official duties to you all on behalf of our village. We will begin by dividing you all in three-man cells. Each of will be mentored by a jonin, a more senior ninja who will guide and coach you as you become familiar with your various assignments." Iruka spoke while looking proudly at his students. Three particular students were in thought but listening hard as well not to miss their names begin called out.
'Three-men cells..tck to easy' The raven-haired boy with night-colored eyes thought.' At least I know whose gonna be partnered with me..I'll need to start planning my next moves carefully' Thought the pink haired girl next to him.
'As long as I'm partnered with Sakura, I'll take anyone else..except for Sasuke.' The blonde-haired blue-eyed boy thought.

"I made the selections so each three-man cell would be equal." Continued Iruka pulling the students out of their thoughts. He called of each three-man team; Ino with Shikamaru and Choji, Hinata with Kiba and Shino, and finally.
"Cell 7 will consist of Sakura Haruno, Naruto Uzamaki,-" "Yeah!" Interrupted Naruto- " and Sasuke Uchiha."
"Why…" Sulked Naruto. Sakura merely laughed at Narutos reaction.
"It's not that bad Naruto-kun, I'm sure we will all have fun and make great memories together." Sakura reassured her new teammate. Naruto wasn't listening irritation bubbling up.

"Iruka sensei what are you thinking saddling a most excellent shinobi like myself with that..LOSER?!" Exclaimed Naruto. Sakura sighed as she closed her eyes.
"Sakura right Naruto, not to mention that out of the 27 of you Sasuke has the best grade in the class, while you have the worst. The idea is to balance your different strengths, that's why you ended up together!" Iruka scolded Naruto.
"Hmph..just don't drag me down." Sasuke said keeping his eyes focused to the front of the room.
"What did you just say!?" Naruto yelled. Sakura having about of enough of it stood up from her seat clenching her fist while a vein starting to pop up on her forehead.
"THAT'S ENOUGH NARUTO! ACK SOMETIMES YOU ACT LIKE SUCH A BABY!" Sakura yelled through clenched teeth.

Naruto shrank back down scared of the complete 360 his pink haired teammates mood made. 'Ahh Sakura-chan can really be scary sometimes..." he thought while sitting back down in his own seat. After assigning all the teams the newly appointed shinobi had a break for lunch and gathered back to the class to meet their new sensei's, all the sensei s came to collect their underlings, all except for team 7.

Sakura stood against one of the empty tables eyeing Naruto. 'He really was such an idiot when we were younger, he's really come a long way…or I guess he will go a long way. There's no way I'm going to stand by and be weak again, maybe just maybe if I can be strong and show them my strength I can get Sasuke to stay, but ill need to play my cards right and devise the perfect plan' Sakura thought as she giggled at Naruto was doing.
Naruto was complaining about how their new sensei had been so late everyone ese had already been acquainted with their new teacher and left, heck even Iruka sensei left as well. Seeing Naruto grabbing the chalkboard easer Sakura pushed herself off the table.

"Naruto? Seriously what are you doing? There's no way a superior ninja would fall for a trick like that." She asked before Naruto even had a chance to turn around.
"Waa- Sakura-chan how did you even know what I was going to do?" Naruto turned around surprised but continued to set up his trap with the easer stuffed between the sliding doors waiting to drop on whoever opened the door next.
"I-It's pretty obvious with you baka!" Sakura stammered forgetting she needed to let things play out as much as possible to try not to seem suspicious, sometimes was ok but not continuously or they would start to ask questions.

"What Sakura is saying is true." Sasuke calls out to his teammates, causing a glare from Naruto and a little bit of a shock from Sakura.' He agreed with me so easily and so quickly. From what I remembered back then it took him a while to even acknowledge me let alone to agree with me." Sakura was thinking before her attention was caught elsewhere when the door started to slide open, and the eraser fell with a cloud of smoke around who they would all come to know as Kakashi sensei. The sliver haired jonin had half his face covered with a mask his hair was spiked up and his headband covered over his left eye. He wore the normal jonin outfit that consisted of a black long-sleeved shirt with a green military vest, and black baggy pants with black ninja sandals. Sasuke couldn't believe this elite ninja fell for the prank. Sakura sighed and Naruto laughed.

"Hmm how do I put this..based on my first impression of you all…I don't like you." Kakashi said as he wiped off the chalk dust. When he finished dusting himself off he started walking out the door motioning them to follow. All three followed as suit and ended up on the roof.
"Now I'd like you all to tell me a little about yourselves. You know the usual your favorite thing, what you hate most, dreams, ambitions things like that." Kakashi stated, Sakura cleared her throat knowing what he meant having lived through this before.
"I'll start, my name is Sakura Haruno my likes are my village and friends, my dislikes are people who judge without knowing, my dream is not anyone's concern at this moment, and my hobbies are many things." Naruto looked over at Sakura thinking she was so cool, while Sasuke opened his eyes and examined the girl. 'Maybe more meets the eye with her' he thought.

"Okay how about you next blondie." Kakashi motioned to Naruto. Said blonde haired boy jumped up from his spot on the stairs, his bright blue eyes blazing bringing attention to his face which had three whiskers on each cheek, he wore his orange and blue jumpsuit that glowed underneath the sun.
"My name is Naruto Uzamaki, what I like is instant ramen cup, what I like even more is when Iruka sensei treats me to ramen at the Ichiraku Noodle bar, what I don't like is waiting for the water to boil for my instant ramen, my dream is to be a better shinobi than the Hokage and to become the best Hokage so the villagers will have to acknowledge my existence at last! BELIEVE IT!" Naruto shouted while giving his new sensei a thumbs up. 'Well hasn't he turned out to be interesting…' Kakashi thought.

"Oh! My hobbies are pranks and practical jokes as well." Naruto finished with a chuckle. 'Ah…well, we'll see' Kakashi thought as he scratched his hair. He then narrowed his eyes on Sasuke.
"And you?"
"My name is Sasuke Uchiha, there are plenty of this I hate but I don't see that is matters considering there is almost nothing I like to do, It seems pointless to talk about 'dreams' that's just a word…but what I do have is determination. I plan to restore my clan and there's someone I have sworn to kill." Sasuke finished as Naruto looked at him skeptical while Sakura turned her head away from him, not wanting him to see the sadness in her eyes. 'Oh Sasuke-kun…I promise Naruto and I will help you get you're revenge this time. I swear it!' Sakura thought.

"Ok it seems we have an understanding of one another."
"What about you Kakashi sensei?" Sakura asked, trying to change the mood.
"Ah well…my likes and dislikes are none of your concern, neither is my dream, and I have many hobbies. Moving on your formal training begins tomorrow."
"Yes sir, what will our duties be? Our first real mission as shinobi." Naruto asked.
"Our first assignment will only involve members of this team-"
"Yeah!? What is it?!" Naruto could hardly contain his excitement.

"Survival exercise." Stated Sakura as she slapped her hand across her mouth. Kakashi raised his only visible eyebrow at her. 'How did she know that…seems I definitely have to keep my eye out for her.' Kakashi studied his new student.
"Yes...actually exactly what Sakura said."
"Wow Sakura-chan you're so smart!" Naruto smiled at Sakura, who was currently scolding herself to keep her big mouth shut.
"Why survival exercises when we learned all of that in the academy?" Sasuke glared at Kakashi. 'Shesh this kid needs to lighten up, but I guess it's only to be expected from him.'
"Yes, you did, but in this exercise, you'll be surviving against me. It won't be your typical kind of practice I promise you that." The genins sensei explained to them.
"How so?" Sakura asked knowing full well what was coming.
"If I told you, you'd chicken out."
"Why!?" Naruto asked, while Sakura drifted off into deep thought starting at the sky. Kakashi took notice of this as he continued to explain.
"Of your 27 members of your graduating class, only 9 of you will actually be accepted as genin. The other 18 must go back for more training. The test we are about to preform has a 66% rate of failure." The two boys began to sweat as the pink haired girl continued to stare at the clouds in the sky. Kakashi took notice to this as well surely thinking he would have had her in the same state as her teammates.

"Th-That's not fair! We have been through hell with the graduation exam!" Naruto cried out.
"Oh? Is it though? We wanted to eliminate all the hopeless cases from your ranks. The ones who are left are the only students who show true potential.-"
"WHAT!?-"
"Any way… we'll meet tomorrow morning at the training grounds so I can evaluate each of your skills and weaknesses. Bring all your ninja tools and weapons. Oh, and don't have breakfast beforehand…unless you enjoy throwing up. The details of your assignment are in these handouts, memorize it and don't be late! "Kakashi said handing the students some papers as he disappeared in a puff of smoke.
