A/N In this story, the characters are the same age they are in the show, but it takes place in the year 2023. You'll understand why once you read.

Daisy watched as Luke came out of the hospital room a full ten minutes after he was supposed to. The family had only been granted one hour of visiting time with Bo and Uncle Jesse had already had his, so Luke's extended visit meant that she was going to have to shorten her stay. She would normally be furious at someone for taking away something as precious as visiting hours with Bo, but upon seeing Luke's somber face she knew she could never stay mad at him for it.

"How is he?" Daisy asked.

Luke shrugged. "He's still on the ventilator, he will be for a while. The doctor gave him something for the pain but it hasn't kicked in yet. I'm, ah, sorry it took so long, but I just couldn't leave him while they were injecting those pain meds." Daisy tried to give him a reassuring smile, but Luke's eyes were glued to the floor. Instead, she squeezed his arm.

"It's all right, I understand." She said, then headed through the doors that Luke had just come out of, the ones that led to Bo's room.

Bo was still awake, yet he looked exhausted. His bright blue eyes were a striking contrast against his ghostly pale skin. The blonde hair on his forehead was matted with sweat. Even with the help of the ventilator, it still sounded pained and raspy every time he took a breath.

"Oh Bo" Daisy rushed to his bedside to hug him gently. When she pulled away from the hug, she made sure to keep her hand on his chest. She wanted to feel the air coming and going from his lungs, the air that asthma was cruelly trying to keep away from him "Are you okay?"

Bo nodded, but Daisy knew he was just putting up a brave front for her benefit. "Be honest with me, does it still hurt to breathe?" Bo hesitated for a moment, then nodded. "Scale from one to ten, how much does it hurt?" Bo held up six fingers, which probably meant the real number was closer to eight.

"Honey, is there anything I could do to help?" She asked, then immediately kicked herself for it. He couldn't answer an open-ended question like that, her asking probably just reminded him of the fact. Daisy considered for a moment that she could find a pen and paper, but she wasn't about to leave his side, not even for a minute. "I'm sorry, that was a stupid question."

Unbothered, Bo took Daisy's hand and turned it so her palm was facing up. He then used his pointer finger to draw the shape of an S on her hand. Then an I, an N and a G.

"Sing. You want me to sing?" Bo nodded. "Alright then" Daisy brushed her fingers through Bo's hair as she began the song.

Flower gleam and glow

Let your power shine

Make the clock reverse

Bring back what once was mine

Even under the ventilator mask, Daisy could see an inkling of a smile as soon as Bo recognized the song. He had always liked the movie Tangled, especially the character Flynn Rider. Though he would never admit to liking such a "girly" movie to anyone else, Daisy could recall him watching the film over her shoulder when they were kids.

Heal what has been hurt

Change the fate's design

Save what has been lost

Bring back what once was mine

What once was mine

She repeated the song when she reached the end, then repeated it again. By the fifth time, Bo's eyelids started to droop. After the seventh encore wrapped up was when Luke and Uncle Jesse came in. "Hi Bo baby, you feelin' better?" Jesse asked. Bo nodded. Daisy was more inclined to believe him this time around; his body was the most relaxed she'd seen it since the asthma attack happened. "We have to go now so you can get some shut eye, but we'll be back first thing tomorrow morning." With that, Jesse kissed Bo's forehead, then headed towards the door. Luke gave him a hug, then followed Jesse.

While Jesse and Luke waited by the doors, Daisy pulled Bo into a hug. "Goodbye Flynn." She whispered. Before Daisy got up to leave, Bo took her hand and spelled out B-Y-E-R-A-P-U-N-Z-E-L.

As they walked back to the car, Luke asked "What was that about? Who's Flynn?" Daisy shrugged smugly. "Sorry, but that's just between me and Bo."

A/N Hope everyone enjoyed it. I may or may not post a second chapter, let me know if you'd like another one.
