You Oughta Know

Felicity's POV:

I hate that he never trusted me throughout our relationship. It seemed like I was never an equal. He never trusted me with himself or his secrets. I loved him but I never really knew if he loved me back, like he said he did. We were supposed to be married later this fall, but I felt that he was slipping away from me, that he wasn't all in like he always would say he was. I could feel that he wasn't, having someone tell you that they would always be there for you and leaving just like everyone else was the most painful thing. This wasn't the first time that we had broken up in our 5-year relationship, but we always found or way back to one another, this time I was certain that we weren't going to find our way back to where we were. I am sure that we will never recover from this, and I am positive that we will not be getting married. After everything that transpired between Oliver and I, what happened at our apartment that fateful day, there could never be an us again, we could never rebuild our relationship ever again.

Flashback – 1 week prior (Oliver and Felicity's apartment)

Felicity was waiting in her and Oliver's shared apartment waiting for him to come back from work, it had been two hours past the time that he usually got out, and she was starting to get worried. 'He's been gone longer than he usually is, he's usually home at most 20 minutes after I get home. I will give him five more minutes before I call him She decided

Felicity walked to the kitchen and got herself something to drink in the meantime, when suddenly her phone started ringing. It was Oliver. "Hi love" said Oliver through the phone, you could tell that he was tired.

"Hey, I was just going to call you, I've been waiting for you at home, you aren't usually this late when you're coming home from work" Felicity said with a sigh of relief, albeit a bit curious as well to know what was taking him so long to come home.

"I know, I'm sorry Felicity, A meeting ran later that I had originally anticipated, and they just left the conference room, I'm packing up and I'll be home soon, I promise" he said apologetically.

"Okay, I'll see you soon then?" she asked curiously, this was sadly part of the new behavior that she has seen over the past couple of months, ever since he asked her to marry him.

"Yes, I'll be home as soon as I finish packing everything up here, no more than thirty minutes"

"Okay, I love you"

"Love you too, Felicity" They both hung up their phones.

At this point Felicity wondered if a meeting actually ran late like he said it did, she checked his calendar this morning and he did not have any later appointments on his schedule. We are going to have to have a serious talk when he gets home she thought to herself as she started getting everything that they would need for dinner tonight. After she was done she went upstairs to get into more comfortable clothing other than her work clothes. She was walking down the stairs when her phone went off again, this time it was Sara Lance, one of her best friends. I wonder what she calling about, Felicity thought unable to help but to be curious why she was calling.

"Hey Sara, what's up?" Felicity asked curiously as she stopped what she was doing to pick up the phone.

"Hey Lis, I know that this is probably bad timing but I really needed to talk to you and tell you something, but I don't want to do it over the phone, can the girls and I come over?" Sara asked, she needed to tell her friend what she found out sooner rather than later.

"Yeah of course you guys can, Oliver isn't home yet though" Felicity said now she was more curious than ever at the urgency in Sara's voice and tone.

"Awesome, we are in the lobby now we'll be right up, and it's perfect that he isn't home yet" said Sara slightly out of breath still sounding as urgent as ever.

"Okay, see you in a minute"

"Yep, see you in a minute" The conversation was abruptly ended by the elevator, there was no cell reception when you were in there, you couldn't keep a call for more than thirty seconds in there.

We need better Wi-Fi in this building she thought to herself. She had asked multiple times for the building manager to let her do her magic on the computer system to no avail. Her thoughts were immediately interrupted by knocking on the door, knowing it was Sara and the girls she let them in immediately.

"Hey guys, long time no see" Felicity joked as they had just seen one another the previous weekend for their annual girls' night out, and pretty much every day when they went to get coffee before work started.

"Hey Felicity, we kind of have difficult news for you, you might want to sit down" said Iris getting right to the point.

"Seriously Iris, you guys are kind of starting to scare me, what is going on?" Felicity asked as she stared at her friends wondering why they were all here, especially Caitlin and Samantha because they usually tend to work later than the rest of the group.

"We wanted to tell you this together because we have been noticing the changes in Oliver's behavior for some months now, and we really didn't have any evidence leading to the contrary before, but now we do and we ask that you let us explain before you say anything" explained Alena gently not wanting her friend to get too upset. Alena looked over at Caitlin for help because she knew that she would never be able to tell her friend the next part.

"We found out that Oliver has been lying about where he has been for a while now" Caitlin explained not really giving any details, she didn't want to hurt her friend either, looking to Samantha with pleading eyes asking her to take over the rest of their joint explanation.

"He's been going to Laurels apartment, for a few hours pretty much every day after work, what their doing in there we don't know, well we guess" she said looking over to the rest of the girls and to Felicity, "We think he's been cheating on you with Laurel Lance" That was when Felicity's world came crashing down around her. Laurel Lance, he's been cheating on me with her. Ohmygod I can't believe this is happening to me. She thought to herself she never thought that something like this could happen to her, like ever, it was just too horrible to even think. I felt tears running down my cheeks.

"Please say something Lis" Iris pleaded, now that I noticed and was able to focus more I noticed them all staring at me with sad and pitying looks on their faces.

"I don't know what to say" Felicity softly spoke "I never thought that he could something like this to me" Tears were now streaming down my face and I couldn't wipe them away fast enough, I buried my face in my hands and started sobbing. Less than a minute later I felt multiple arms wrapping around me pulling me into a bear hug. It was silent aside from Felicity crying, until Samantha started to talk. "I think we need to get you out of here before he comes back" suggested Samantha.

"I agree, we could all help you" said Alena fully intending to help get her friend out of this situation as fast as possible. "You could even move in with me for a bit until you get back on your feet and find another apartment" Sara volunteered leaving no room for argument.

"Okay guys, we'll need to find my duffle bag and suitcase that I have in here somewhere, and I'll…" trailed Felicity before she got cut off. "Don't worry about anything Felicity, we have it all covered, someone is coming any minute to help us out with moving the things in your office and your bedroom to my apartment" said Sara soothingly to Felicity "You don't have to lift a finger, we'll get everything that you will need, and you can decide what you want put in storage for now"

"When did you guys come up with this plan?" Felicity asked, she knew that they have been thinking about this longer than they would say, and she was curious.

"You probably don't want to know the answer to that question" said Alena looking down to the floor trying to keep herself distracted.

"You're probably right, I don't, let's get this show on the road shall we?" Felicity suggested, as she played with the ring on her finger. "You heard her ladies, Alena and Samantha you go find her duffel bags and suitcase, if we don't have enough room there's some stuff in my car, Iris, Caitlin and myself will start getting Felicity's things together in the bedroom" Sara commanded taking charge like the natural leader that she is.

The ladies started to do as they were told going into various places in the apartment. "And what will I do?" asked Felicity curiously.

"You will come with me, and we will get sorting through some things, we'll put the stuff that you want in storage in your office for now so that the movers know what to do when they get here" said Sara confidently.

"Okay, let's get started then" said Felicity how just wanted to get this process over with so that she could finally relax.

After the movers got there it didn't take long for the process to be mostly over by the time that Oliver got there almost an hour later.

"Hey Felicity, I'm home, what's going on?" yelled Oliver because he couldn't see her in the apartment he guessed that she was upstairs. But he was also curious as to why the movers were moving all of her stuff out of their apartment.

"I'll be down in a minute" she yelled back, turning to her friends she said "I'll be back in a few minutes, the things that are left here can you guys take downstairs to the truck? I'll meet you there in a few minutes"

"Okay Felicity, but only if you are sure" said Alena looking warily at her friend she was already hurt enough by Oliver she didn't need to go through any more pain that he could cause her.

"I'm sure" said Felicity confidently trying to assure her friends that she could handle this.

"Okay, come on guys let's each take a box" said Sara taking one of the boxes that she, thankfully, kept in her car.

After that they all headed downstairs with a box one after the other as Oliver looked at them all curiously he was only met by glares being sent his way from Felicity's friends as they too were carrying her things out of the apartment.

"Hey" said Felicity catching Oliver's attention, she said "You must be wondering what is going on"

"I am, I was hoping that you could tell me why I saw mover's carrying your stuff to a moving truck outside and why I just saw your friends carrying boxes of your things out of our apartment, what's going on Felicity?" Oliver asked gently taking a step toward Felicity until she took a step back and away from him.

"They told me Oliver" said Felicity seriously "They told me what's been going on, where you have been during these 'late meetings', or should I say where you have actually been, with Laurel, at her apartment" The look on Oliver's face was one of pure shock, shocked that her friends found out, and then subsequently told Felicity and had moved her out of the apartment in under less than three hours.

I have no idea how they found out, I know Laurel never told her sister, they must have been watching me for a while and figured it out that way thought Oliver, he didn't know how but he sure wanted to know and he was going to find out Thought Oliver to himself, he had been very careful about covering his tracks these past few months, though not careful enough if someone found out.

"All I want to know is why" said Felicity, that was all she wanted to know what was so wrong in their relationship that he thought he would ever get away with lying and cheating.

"I don't know Felicity" said Oliver, the look on his face was one that did not look apologetic in the slightest.

"Then this is over, I can't trust someone who has been cheating on me, you've never trusted me, I can tell that now. I'm leaving. I don't want you to follow me, no texts, no calls, we're done, the weddings off. I hope you and Laurel have a good life together. One that I'm not a part of" said Felicity determined. She walked over to Oliver, taking the ring off and dropping it on the floor at his feet.

Oliver didn't look surprised as she dropped the ring and left, he knew it was a risky, his relationship with Laurel, but he didn't care, and it cost him, it cost him Felicity.

Flashforward – 1 week later (Felicity's POV)

He never really did care, Laurel and Oliver were back together again after a few years of being apart, it was never meant to be for us. I'm not mad or upset, we didn't fit it, it didn't seem natural, at least for him. In some ways I did miss him though when he would cook for me and when we would just cuddle on the couch and watch a movie and when we would just talk.

Living with Sara while trying and failing to find a place for myself was difficult. It was going nowhere at this point and I was struggling and at my wits end with trying to find the perfect fit for me. I went to a couple of these apartments so far, but they just didn't feel like somewhere I wanted to live in, they just never seemed like a good fit. I was trying to look for more places when Sara, Alena, Caitlin, Samantha, and Iris all came into the apartment.

"Hey" said Felicity distractedly still searching on her computer that is until Alena took the computer from me "What?"

"Hey, don't get grouchy, we're taking you out tonight" said Samantha laughing.

"Yeah, we're thinking about going to that new karaoke bar the just opened up downtown" said Iris already getting ready to go out.

"Sure, why not" said Felicity, it could be good for me to go out and have some fun. "Let's get ready"

The other lady's in the room cheered as they all started to get ready for the long night ahead.

A/N: This is going to be a two chapter fic, because it was getting incredibly long, I should have the second and last chapter up in a week or two, I am currently beta reading/editing another fanfic, starting college, again, and am trying to keep my wrist from killing me constantly (still,) I have had many issues with my wrist, nerve issues from after the surgery I had and I recently reinjured it, so bear with me here and it should be up soon.
