Kaeya went to Dragon Ridge
The captain of the cavalry, as usual goes to Ordo Favonius headquarters. The weather today is excellent, but perhaps that's the only good thing in the crazy monotony of recent weeks. Only this time, the outcome of the day is predetermined. Kaeya walks silently into the Order of the West Wind. Inside, he goes up to the second floor to enter his office. On the table he finds a stack of papers waiting for someone to sign them. Alberich sighs and walks over to the table to examine them. Ignoring his mood, he picks up the first paper and discovers an interesting assignment. It has a picture of Dragon Ridge on it. It says to deal with the mages of the Abyss and the Fatui. Alberich decides to check with magister Jean about this information. Since she is replacing Varka, who has gone on a distant journey taking all the horses. Going down to the 1st floor, he opens the door to Gunnhildr's office. There he sees the girl sitting and trying to see something on a piece of paper. She was working hard, she rarely had time to rest. Beside her stood the librarian Lisa, who was the opposite of the blonde. Her laziness had no bounds, Kaeya could only envy her attraction to books and reluctance to work. The magister did not immediately notice the appearance of the guy with blue hair in her office. However, Lisa smiled back at the handsome man and began to flirtatiously carry on a conversation:
- It's been a long time since you visited us for a cup of tea, sweetie. Tell me, why did you come here? - she asked in her own manner, Alberich had long been accustomed to her such a style of communication, and sometimes even allowed himself to tease her a little. Right now, he wasn't interested in that, he was interested in the mission. Kaeya smiled as he looked at Minci and then at Gunnhildr, who had set aside a stack of papers.
- Lisa, I don't have time myself, even for such a short tradition. Anyway, Jinn, I found an errand on my desk. Take a look. - he said, walking over to the table where she was sitting and placing her sheet of paper on its surface. The magister began to read the document and looked at the cryo knight in bewilderment.
- Kaeya, I'm sorry, I completely forgot about this assignment... You'll have to go on this mission with master Diluc. I know you have a complicated relationship, but I'm afraid you can't do it without him. - there was a look of confusion and fear on her face. The librarian looked intently into her eyes and nodded her head. Alberich was well aware that she was right, but he knew in advance how he would act. The captain of the cavalry is not going to ask for help from him. Especially since he treats Ordo Favonius with contempt, and to him feels, if not hatred, then certainly enmity. So Kaeya decided to look into the matter himself, not for nothing he was nicknamed a knight for his desperate courage and absolute self-confidence. Though this was all a great exaggeration, few doubted his ability to fight. Only he knew he did not deserve such treatment. Alberich did not stop smiling his sweet smile, hiding his intentions.
- Don't worry, Jean. I'll be sure to talk to him, and the mission will be accomplished. - the captain answered her. He didn't talk about his plan, but Lisa noticed that the smile was strained on his face. Too many times she tried to spot him in a terrible mood, but she didn't do it well. Because when he was in a good mood, Alberich was simply irresistible. His manner of conversation also betrayed the reason for his gloomy mood. It was usually jokes and laughter, sparkling in every word. However, she will not tell Jean about it because she cares about her girlfriend. Doesn't want her to worry, she's got enough problems as it is. While she was figuring out the true Kaeyu, he disappeared from the magister's office. He went to the Angel's Share Tavern, as expected inside saw the bartender Charles. The captain waved to him in greeting. The man grinned as he rubbed glasses.
- Good morning, Charles. How's it going? - the cryo warrior asked the bartender. Charles didn't particularly like such treatment, but he was used to the dark-haired guy's barbs.
- Thank you, okay. What's your usual? - asked the question, setting aside the glass, which he had wiped clean. Alberich politely declined, glancing already at the table where Rosaria sits. She is a girl for him to spend his boring days with and drink wine with. Only tonight Kaeya doesn't want to get drunk out of her mind, the sister of the church Favonia saw her friend and fellow drinker sitting down across from her. Still smiling, she could tell he was having a good time with her. Perhaps she was one of those to whom the captain of the cavalry could tell her secrets and worries. However, he was surprised to find her so early in the tavern, for there is supposed to be a choir in the cloister now. He knows the answer himself, though.
- Hello, Rosaria. Why are you here now? - Alberich wondered. - You have a church service today, or have you decided to run away from your duties? - the captain asked calmly, the girl hesitated for a moment and then nodded. She seldom saw her friend like this.
- Kaeya, you know very well that I hate glee club, and I never intended to become a nun. I have a counter question for you, why did you come here if you don't want a drink? - Rosaria said, staring into his one open blue lilac eye, the other right one hidden behind a black bandage.
- Rosaria, as perceptive as always. I was looking for you, I want to talk to you about my mission. - Alberich said without any expression, but the girl knew she had to help him. Looking intently into his face, she leaned forward listening to him, he continued in a whisper: - I've been given a mission to go to Dragon Ridge to deal with the Abyss mages and the Fatui. Magister Jean told me to go with master Diluc, but I don't want to go with him. Anyway... if I don't come back, at least pray for me. - Kaeya asked her for this favor. Sister Rosaria sensed the tension with which the cryo swordsman was holding himself, his hands visibly shaking and tense. It was the girl who saw through people, he was no exception. Yet even she was amazed when she first saw him and never thought she would be interacting with such a person. Sister Favonia of the church wouldn't pray for him, but she wouldn't wish him dead either.
- It won't come to that, I promise you. - firmly said Rosaria, he nodded silently and smiled at her it seemed to him goodbye. Eventually the tall guy left the establishment, closer to the exit of the town of Mondstadt noticed the scout Amber, who turned to the captain of the cavalry and looked at him with suspicion.
- Kaeya, are you slacking off again?! - she said loudly, looking at him in displeasure. Alberich smirked firmly, and the golden-eyed woman looked at him anxiously.
- Not this time, Amber. I've been given an important assignment, to deal with the mithachurls. - the captain explained, and the girl stared at him animatedly.
- I'm coming with you. - she said firmly, which made the swordsman uneasy.
- You can't. Jean has appointed to stay and guard the city while the other knights patrol the area. - having told her this false information, she believed him.
- Good. Then good luck, captain Kaeya. - spoke the girl and let the blue-haired lad go ahead. At last he walked across the bridge and set off for Dragon Ridge.
