Deep in the space between realities

"Stop now or I will use force!" A boy with golden hair, clad in white shouted, flying after a strange, cloud like being. "No not another reality!" He shouted, speeding after the being into a reality.

Pallet Town, circa April 1987

"He's beautiful isn't he." Richard Ketchum whispered softly, leaning against a doorway into his houses nursery.

"He gets it from you." Delia Ketchum said sweetly. "My little Ashton."

"I was thinking maybe we could shorten it to Ash, my grandfather always went by that." Richard said.

"Maybe once he's older." Delia said, setting the swaddled baby in the crib. "But I want him to make that decision, not us."

"You're right, I just know, he has a bright future ahead of him." Richard said.

"Sleep tight Ashton, Mommy will be here when you wake up, I promise." Delia said, walking out of the nursery.

A few moments later, a portal opened inside the nursery as the strange smoke-like creature emerged, closing in on the sleeping baby.

"You will not touch him!" The boy shouted, tackling the smoke-like creature and creating a new tear in reality as they entered a third portal. Looking back at the fractured timeline, the boy shook his head. "Oh, if I survive taking him out, I am going to pay for that."

Back in the nursery, baby Ashton opened his eyes to see the swirling colors, sticking his arm out of the blankets he was wrapped in, reaching for the mysterious object above his crib.

Meanwhile in Alola at the Aether Foundation

"Portal is staying strong." Wicke said, looking at her monitor.

"Mohn, it's really happening, all our work is finally paying off, an Ultra Wormhole!" Lusamine said excitedly.

"Ma'am, something's incoming!" Wicke said worriedly. "Be ready in 5, 4, 3, 2, 1!"

Out of the portal lowered a swaddle of blankets, and a cry was heard.

"A baby?" Fab a said in disgust. "I thought we were researching aliens?!"

"The energy reading does not lie, that was an Ultra Wormhole I'm sure of it." Wicke said, as Lusamine walked over to the boy with pitch black hair, and lightning bolts on his cheeks.

"A.R.K." Lusamine said, reading the letters sewn into the blanket.

"Wait, as in Ark, like the Ark project?" Wicke said in shock. "Is it possible that he's…"

"A sole survivor sent here for his own safety." Lusamine said.

"Well what do we do with it? I'm above changing diapers." Faba said.

"Mohn, we could take him in, what do you think?" Lusamine asked.

"With Gladion and Lillie already, do you think it's a good idea?" Mohn asked.

"I don't see why not. We will tell them the truth when the time comes, but I think it's our responsibility to protect and raise him." Lusamine said.

"What do we name him?" Mohn asked.

"Why need a name? We'll call him what he is Ark, I think it's cute." Lusamine said.

"You know, I think I have an Uncle Archibald who goes by Ark, I like it." Mohn said. "Welcome to the family Ark." Mohn said, holding out his finger as the baby grabbed it, his eyes glowing orange for just a moment.

Back in Pallet Town

"Oh Ash, look who I found, it's Bunbun." Delia said, walking into the nursery to see a now empty crib. "ASH!" Delia cried out in horror, running to find her baby.
