Grimm Mothers

This is an AU in which Summer is alive and like her closest friend, Sapphire Lazuli, held prisoner by Salem and experimented on. They'll eventually escape and try to make their way home

Two women were currently walking to what looked like a fortified campsite. One had shoulder length black hair with red tips in a half up-half down style, fair skin complexion, and silver eyes. The other woman had blue haired at the same length, but completely down, fair skin complexion, silver eyes, and a pair of wolf ears on her head.

These two women were Summer Rose and Sapphire Lazuli respectively, two highly skilled Huntresses and best friends who graduated from Beacon Academy, the most prestigious of the four Huntsman Academies.

A young man cut them off at the gate. He was a skinny guy with dirty blonde hair and gray eyes and wore a dark blue and gray jacket with torn sleeves over a long sleeved shirt, a bandana around his neck and has a shoulder pad on his right shoulder, brown leather fingerless gloves with straps and brown pants with boots. "That's as far as you pretty things are going. Now turn around and walk back the way you came." He said to them, pointing a revolver with knuckles and a blade attached to the handle.

"We're here to see Raven. We know she leads the tribe now." Summer said, referring to her former teammate and assigned partner from Beacon, Raven Branwen. Both women were members of Team STRQ, one of Beacon's most exceptional teams, alongside Taiyang Xiao Long and Raven's younger twin brother Qrow.

"I said...!" He started until...

"Shay!" A woman called out and he flinched when he saw the gates were opened to reveal a woman with long black hair and bright red eyes. She wore a V neck black and red wrap style top with a black pleated skirt that has black shorts underneath, with series of beaded necklaces, a red obi sash around her waist alongside a red tasset wrapped around her waist that carried her sword and its sheath, red armored gauntlets that protruded outwards and black fingerless gloves, as well as black mid-thigh high boots, that had armor plating with red soles and black heels.

"...Y-Yes, Raven...?" The guy, now known as Shay, said.

"Stand down. Summer and Sapphire sent a message to my Scroll, telling me they were on their way to talk to me." Raven said.

He nodded then bolted back to his tent when Raven walked to her old friends.

"Sorry. He's new to the tribe." The dark-haired swordswoman said.

Summer suddenly slapped Raven, who was too shocked to do anything. "First off, that is for leaving Tai and Yang." She scowled.

Yang was Tai and Raven's daughter. Shortly after the girl was born, Raven left her then husband and her daughter to return to the tribe.

"I wish I could say I expected that, but more from Tai than you." Raven said.

"Why don't we move this to your tent, Raven?" Sapphire suggested, noticing a lot of eyes on the trio.

Raven nodded then the three women walked through the camp to the largest tent.

"...How is she?" Raven asked.

"She's good. She turned 5 a month ago." Summer replied.

Raven turned to Sapphire. "And your boy?"

"Lapis just turned 5 a couple days ago. My dad already plans to start his training so he can enroll at Beacon when he turns 17. Lapis has also come to see a young girl named Blake Belladonna as a best friend." Sapphire replied with a smile as the three entered Raven's tent. "I'll make us some tea." She said then set to it. Once it was ready, she poured some tea into three cups and brought them to a table Raven and Summer sat at.

"You and Tai have a daughter too. Ruby, right, Sum?" Raven asked.

Summer sighed. "You're lucky Tai hasn't been able to spot you yet. If he does, he'll likely pluck every one of your bird form's feathers out."

Raven chuckled. "Qrow too, I bet." She said then sipped her tea. "Now, I know you two didn't come all this way to simply reconnect. What do you two want?"

"We're taking the fight to her, and we need help." Summer said, speaking of Salem, a monster Ozpin, Beacon's headmaster, spoke to Team STRQ and Sapphire's team, Team SHCK.

"I never pegged either of you as suicidal." Raven said with a deep frown.

"The Grimm are getting stronger because of her. Just like a Lancer Hive, kill the queen and the whole colony falls apart." Sapphire said.

Raven looked at her tea while Summer and Sapphire drank a bit of theirs. "No." Raven said.

"No?" Summer/Sapphire asked.

"No. Think about it. The three of us have children. What happens if this so-called mission fails?"

"Raven, Summer and I are thinking about the kids. That's why we're doing this." Sapphire reasoned.

Raven sighed then finished her tea. "See yourselves out of the camp."

"So, there's no changing your mind?" Summer asked, sounding a little sad.

Raven stayed silent, giving them both their answer.

"You're not strong alone, you know. We're stronger together. That's how we can beat her." Sapphire said as the two finished their tea then left.

Sapphire and Summer eventually were with a small team of nine total people including the two of them, one of them being a fox Faunus. They were a little way away from an ominous looking castle.

"Okay, people. Thanks to Sapphire, we know a way to get into Evernight Castle undetected. Here's the plan: Once inside, we split into three teams. Two of the teams will occupy any opposition while Sapphire, Charlie, and I go right for the serpent's head. Once Salem is dead, Remnant will know peace." Summer said.

"There's a possibility that many of us won't make it out of there alive. I want to thank all of you for showing courage in the face of doom." Sapphire said.

The members of the strike team nodded.

"Charlie, detonate the explosives." Summer said.

"Got it." Charlie, the fox Faunus, said then prepped a detonator then pressed a button, setting off several explosions in the distance. Grimm either flew or ran to the explosions to investigate.

"Okay, castle's unprotected. Let's move." Sapphire said then led the team to a tunnel on the east side. After making it into the castle, the team split up with the silver eyed fighters going to look for Salem herself. They didn't have to look far, as they soon came across an open pair of big double doors. There, they found a woman who had sickly pale skin, black and red eyes, and a black and red dress.

"Ah. Welcome, Sapphire Lazuli and Summer Rose. I've been expecting you and your friend there." She said while still looking out the window. "Smart move, drawing my pets away from my home. Yet I can't help but wonder why."

"We're here to end this fight, Salem." Sapphire said.

"Your reign of terror will fall with you today, bitch!" Summer said.

Salem simply chuckled. "A shame you three brought those six soldiers. I would've preferred that they had lived."

Charlie growled as the three readied their weapons, Sapphire's being Wolf's Surge, a mace with spikes made from different types of Dust and buttons above the hilt to alternate between them, Summer's being Sundered Rose, an axe that could turn into a hunting rifle, and Charlie's being twin pistols.

He charged first while firing at Salem, who simply raised a hand to block the bullets being fired at her. She then blasted him back.

Sapphire pressed a red button and shot fireballs at Salem. Summer, taking advantage came up from the right and blasted Salem with Shadow's Terror in rifle form several times.

What the three saw happened was horrifying. Salem's body was repairing the damage that was done from the gun.

"What are you?!" Summer/Sapphire asked.

"I am the solution for this world." Salem smirked then blasted the two back then their vision went black, as Salem had knocked all three out.

Sapphire was the first to wake up. She saw that she and Summer were in a cell together and Summer was beginning to come to. "Summer? You hurt?"

"I don't think so. You?"

"Other than this raging headache, it looks like I'm in one piece."

Salem walked into the cell with a man who had disheveled graying hair, and a matching moustache and beard. He had a red robotic eye that was glowing. His right arm was robotic as well as dark and metallic with red inner circuits. His clothing consisted of a red shirt under a closed lab coat, white pants, and dark gray boots.

Sapphire glared at Salem. "Where's Charlie?"

"Your little friend is alive, but those six fools are dead. I'll make sure your friend is comfortable, but you two will be in the capable hands of Dr. Merlot here." Salem replied then left the room.

The man grinned smugly. "Worry not, ladies. This procedure won't be so bad." He said then injected both of them with a strange black substance, causing the two to scream in pain.
