The town of Godric's Hollow was alive with activity. Children in costumes of their choosing, running amuck with joy and laughter for the day of Samhain and Halloween.

Candy rappers aloft in the air from the children's sticky hands, the noise from one of these houses emitted specific shrieks of laughter and joy. The occupants of this house (a family of 4) spent their evening watching particularly silly Halloween cartoon specials for a little 1 year old boy's joy. This boy goes by the name of Harry James Potter.

The father of one Harry Potter, James Potter, held the small laughing child as he enjoyed a funny program on the Telly. The features of James Potter matched his son feature for feature, as if they were twins. The only noticeable difference between father and son would be the startling color of green in the boy's eyes that was so like his mother, Lily Potter (née) Evans, people would be taken aback by the similarity.

On the other side of the cream colored sofa in the living room of the small cottage in Godric's Hollow, sat one Lily Potter with her 3 month old daughter, Aubrey Dorea Potter. Named after both her grandmothers, Aubrey's soft features started the running joke from her father that both of her grandmothers blessed her with their beauty from beyond the grave.

With her lightly tanned skin from her father and soft delicate features from her mother she was truly a beautiful baby.

As the program ended, Harry became restless with the entertainment gone. James took it upon himself to entertain the small toddler. Casting a quick spell to produce bubbles for Harry, James set his wand down on the side table next to the couch. A mistake he would realize only moments later.

Hiking Harry up on his shoulders James began to run around with Harry laughing madly to himself. Harry's shrieks of laughter greets Voldemort as he apparates down the street of Godric's Hollow.

"James!" Lily scolded her husband with a soft smile, "He needs to be put to bed soon. Don't get him so riled up." James trotted around with the squealing Harry only a moment more before stopping in front of his wife and depositing a breathless Harry beside her.

"Aww come on Lils. Harry needs to learn the way of the Marauders. Isn't that right Harry." A soft tired shriek is the only response he got from his son before turning his attention back to his wife. The look on her face told him exactly what she thought about that response. Clapping his hands together he continued, "Yup! Ok Harry I told you no Marading before bed. Tomorrow, pinkie promise." He said in mock seriousness as he took the small pinkie of his son's hand.

An eye roll was the only response he got from Lily. "Alright Harry mommy is going to take you upstairs and get you ready for bed so that you and daddy can play all you want tomorrow my cheeky monkey. Come on now."

Handing Aubrey off to a waiting James, Lily picks up her now sleepy son and set off for his nursery when a tingle is sent down both Lily and James spines that makes their blood run cold. Someone dismantled their wards.

James quickly went back to Lily's side and carefully placed Aubrey in her arms. "Lily, you need to go quick. He is here. Take the kids upstairs!" Placing a soft kiss on both of their heads James looks at Lily's misty green eyes that are so like his sons. A second passes that seems like a lifetime for the two parents.

Placing a hand on either side of his wife's face, mindful of the baby's in her arms, he gives his wife, his Lily-flower, the person he loves most in the world, one last kiss. Putting all of love and devotion into the soft kiss that they share, they know as they pull apart that there are no words that need to be said. They had said it all.

Lily looks one last time into James hazel eyes and runs upstairs just as Voldemort blasts the front door open.

Laying her children in Harry's crib, she searches for the stuffed teddy that they set as a portkey to escape in situations such as this one. Yells are incompsing the house and for a moment it's a comfort. To know he is still alive, but that moment shatters as James Potter's body hits the ground right below the staircase.

Lily stills as the house falls into a dreadful silence. Slowly rising from her position, knowing that the search for the teddy is futile, Lily makes her way over to her children. With only the footfalls of Voldemort coming nearer in her house she sheds a single tear that holds so much meaning and love you couldn't possibly put it into words.

Lily's tear falls on the soft cheek of her 3 month old as she smiles down at her two children.

"Harry, A-Aubrey...Momma loves you both so much. Dada loves you both I-I… he was never able to put it into words...he could never think of them...Neither could I. Harry take care of your sister. Take care of each other. Never let each other go. Harry be safe. Be strong."

Lily leans down to kiss their heads just as Voldemort opens the door. He takes one look at the room and. Smiles in such a way that promises death. "Move aside girl." He sneers at Lily.

"No! Leave Harry ALONE! Please leave him alone." His vicious smile turns into an unpleasant frown.

"Move NOW!" His tone turns dark with such undertones that it sounds like he is hissing.

Lily wails and refuses to move out of the way of her children. Both Harry and Aubrey's wails could battle those of their mother who pleads for him to leave her children alone.

With a raise of his wand and an utter of two simple words, Lily Potter lays on the floor dead.

With a pleased smirk, Voldemort turns his wand on the young boy sitting up in the crib crying for his mother. As he says the spell that will secure his hope of dominance, Harry reaches over and lays his left hand over his sister's right hip.

With the contact of his spell Voldemort's eyes widen as he and the roof over Harry's nursery are torn apart
