AN: Hey guys I haven't posted in a while. I had a story on here before but it was terrible! This one's hopefully better. I was like 9 when that previous one came out. Now I am 19, so hopefully my writing has improved!

Toby POV

Um, hi. My name is Toby Rainweaver. I live in Wizard City with my four brothers: Adam Spiritweaver, Kyle Frostweaver, Chris Duneweaver, and Jake Legendweaver. Anyways, you can probably assume everyone's magic school from their names. We lost our parents years ago and have been kinda on our own since then. We do quests for gold to pay the bills, even though we're all adolescents. We have a small townhome in the shopping district.

"Toby! Get up!" my twin brother Chris said, throwing a pillow at me from across our room. He and I are both 14.

"Ugh… Morning already?" I yawned sleepily, stretching as I sat up.

"Say what?" Chris asked. He was already in his robes, fully dressed, unlike me, dressed in just my athletic shorts.

"Never mind," I told him, throwing the covers off and rolling out of bed. I went to the bathroom to wash my face before exiting the room. I smelled breakfast from the kitchen and my stomach growled. I was too hungry to get dressed.

Meanwhile, my younger brother Jake was coming out of his rooms in his pajama pants. "Morning," I said with a slight smile.

I got a growl as a response from 12 year old Jake. Yikes… he's not a morning person. I hopped on the railing of the stairs and slid down to race Chris to the bottom. In the kitchen, Kyle, my oldest brother, whose 17, made pancakes. "Thanks, Kyle," I smiled as he handed me a plate.

"Yeah, thanks, bro," Chris also took a plate. "I can't believe summer's over," Chris said to me as we began eating.

"I know it sucks…" I groaned. "At least we're 9th graders now!"

"Yeah! We'll get actual spells!"

"Hey, guys..." Adam, the second oldest at 16 wandered into the kitchen. He had just a towel on around his waist. He had just taken a shower judging by his wet hair. Suddenly Jake rushed into the room, bowling over Adam. The older boy began playfully punching Jake for running into him."You fucking idiot!"

"Get off me!" Jake yelped, laughing.

"Go Adam!" I cheered.

"Stop fighting!" Kyle shouted. "And, Adam, No one wants to see your… you know what…" Adam then blushed and ran off to his room. His towel must have fallen off during the fight. Chris and I laughed and Jake sat down to eat.

I quickly scarfed down the rest of my pancakes and bacon before burping. "Gross..." Chris laughed.

"Not as gross as you farting in your sleep, Chris!" I teased. "Happened like ten times last night bruh."

"Toby, what the hell..." Chris dropped his fork and got up. I also got up and ran, with Chris chasing me around the living room. Chris caught up to me and tackled me to the carpeted floor and we wrestled for a bit. He found my ticklish spot on my ribs and I began laughing uncontrollably as we wrestled.

"Guys... stop messing around and get ready for school," Kyle sighed as he walked over to us.

"Make me..." I said, getting the upper hand and getting Chris's neck in a headlock.

"If you don't get your ass the fuck upstairs in one minute, I will grab your wand and snap it..." Kyle threatened.

"Fine…" I got up and ran upstairs and changed into my wizard clothes, made up of purple robe boots and hat with green trim and electric symbols in the fabric. I also brushed my teeth in the bathroom and took a piss. Back in my room, I grabbed my wand and backpack and began to make my way to the front door.

I heard Jake's footsteps as he came back down from getting dressed. "Toby, your girlfriend's here!" I heard my younger brother call out before a knock came at the front door. I guess our doorbell doesn't work.

"She's not my girlfriend!" I blushed. "And I'll get the door!"

I RAN to the front door, eager to meet Heather, and opened it. "Hey, Toby," my crush Heather Wildleaf said. She had long blond hair and fair skin with green eyes. "You wanna walk to school with me?"

"Sure!" I smiled, a blush taking over my cheeks. "Bye guys!" I waved and bolted out the door.

"Toby, it's so nice to see you again." She kissed me on the lips. "Woah… i… i…." My face went pink.

"I missed you so much over the summer! And… and… I'm sorry…"

"No it's okay. I like you a lot too." I kissed her back. "I've, uh, kinda had a crush on you since I was eleven."

"Thanks…" she played with her hair. "We should go get our schedules from Headmaster Ambrose though."

I followed her up the stairs to Ambrose's office. "Welcome back to Ravenwood, young wizards. Miss Wildleaf," he handed Heather her schedule. "And Mister Rainweaver, stay out of trouble this year."

"Sorry, sir," I saluted to him before grabbing my schedule.

My schedule looked like this:

1st period: storm magic

2nd period: life magic

3rd period: algebra

4th period: science

5th period: spiral history

6th period: literature

7th period: physical education

Yup. Storm's my main and life is my secondary school! :)

The bell for first period rang. "Bye, Toby, good luck." She hugged me.

"Thanks, you too Heather." I smiled at her and walked off to class. I didn't have too many friends in school other than my twin brother, Heather, and my other best friend, Ronan Thundersword. He, like me, was also a storm student. A bit obvious by his awesome last name of Thunder Sword lmao! I met him in front of Bartleby, the world tree. He lived in the dorms, as he lives in the far off world of Rajah. "Hey, Ro," I fist bumped my friend.

"Hey, Tobes," Ronan smiled. He spoke with a slight Indian accent. He had similar features to me, except his skin was more of a mocha color, and his hair cut shorter than my shoulder length hair. "Ready for more storm spells?"

"Heck yeah, dude!" I cheered, pumping my fist in the air.

"Hello, Adept storm students!" Halston Balestrom greeted us in the storm classroom. "It will soon be time to learn the Kraken spell! Next week in facr! We will spend the next few class sessions learning about Krakens! Isn't that exciting?!" Normally, the idea of learning was a bore, but storm creatures from the sea depths were pretty freaking awesome, so yeah. This was exciting.

The first day went well. I shared my afternoon classes with my twin brother and Heather. Well she wasn't in my PE class of course lol. But Chris was. After school I changed into my swimsuit and hung out at the commons pond with my girlfriend and I fell asleep next to her on the grass.

When I woke up in the evening time, I said goodbye to Heather and went home to find Kyle sitting on the curb outside, crying.

"Kyle what's wrong?" I sat next to him. He handed me a note that he said was on the door earlier. It said EVICTION Notice. Get your stuff out by midnight. "Eviction? I thought we paid our rent?!" I asked.

"You, Jake, and Chris haven't been paying your fair share for a couple months," Kyle said. "I've told you for a while to pay up, Tobes. But you never do. I can't afford to pay everything!"

"I'm sorry…" I said.

"It's too late for that. I've had it up to here with you!" Kyle indicated the top of his hat. "Adam and I are moving into a new house with the gold we saved up."

"What about me?"

"You figure it out, Tobes. You can't live with me though. I can't trust you to do anything but goof off and act immature!"

"But, Kyle!" I stuttered.

"Just go get your stuff… okay."

"Fine!" I stormed off, angry at my brother. While I was packing all my stuff into my infinite backpack, I began to feel bad. I had been a terrible brother. I sad one last goodbye to my room and the house before leaving. I was homeless now :/

Author's Note April 22 2023: Updated chapter 1 because the first one actually kinda sucked.
