This is a reupload of Chapter 1 - which was posted earlier today, based off the reviews I got over the past 24 hours. I was originally going planning to upload the next chapter now, but I'll save that for later on the day.

This is the new format I'll be adopting while writing the story from now on, so I can hammer out all the kinks earlier.

Now to address the reviews:

JackFoxGaming24: the next chapter will be coming out later today, I'm happy you're looking forward to it.

gaby11: I tried my best, hopefully the story keeps you interested.

NightSlayer04: I decided to change my writing style, which didn't really have a direction before and came up with an outline for how I wanted the plot to go, to help keep the story more focused. A lot of people have complained about Naruto acting weirdly, so I tried to remedy that in the reupload.

Robocopio: I wasn't quite sure what you meant by redpill, borderline incel. You didn't really give a lot to go off, so I couldn't quite figure out whether you meant that I was writing the character poorly or that I was writing a poor character, but I tried my best to fix it anyway.

Otutsuki Naruto: I'm happy you're satisfied with the pairing as it is probably my favorite one. As for the character not feeling like Naruto, that's because I'm not in a place where I'm able to write happy-go-lucky characters, so I change the plot a bit so I could settle on a darker theme. As for the lack of Naruto elements, that is only because there hasn't been a valid reason to inject them into the story. This was the introductory chapter and so far there hasn't been a need for Naruto to use chakra. That will be coming in eventually, but I understand if the story isn't for you.

Guest23: I'm glad you like it. It's an idea that I've had rolling in my head for a while, and I really look forward to seeing how it turns out.

A10riddick: Thanks a lot for the praise. I actually struggled a lot with this chapter, and I wasn't sure about the ending but I'm happy you enjoyed it.

just a reader: Naruto's acting like a weirdo because I struggle with writing relationships and this chapter was heavily relationship focused. I've tried to correct it as much as I can, and I hope you like it better now.

Narutard Simp: Naruto's relationship with Koneko comes off as awkward and obsessive because I don't have any personal experience to use as a reference. And I struggle a lot with writing relationships. I've tried my best to make it less awkward. Kindly note that while I criticism, I do not appreciate insults.

Alright, with that settled. Enjoy.

CHAPTER 1 – LET'S START WITH A TRAGEDY

The darkness was all-consuming and suffocating. The only audible sound was the pounding of his heart and the shallow, panicked breaths escaping his lips. He was running, even though he couldn't see where he was going, couldn't even see his own hands in front of his face. But he kept running, no longer relying on his eyes but simply following the screams.

And then he heard it - a low growl, deep and guttural, coming from somewhere in the darkness. He stumbled to a stop, his heart hammering in his chest. The growling grew louder and more ferocious with each passing second, as the screams grew in intensity, forcing him to cover his ears. "Mom," he called into the darkness. "Mom!"

Suddenly, a pair of glowing eyes appeared, burning like hot coals. The eyes were eerie and twisted and glowed a demonic light. They shone with neither compassion nor warmth, only a callous hunger. These were the eyes of a monster, and he knew it with a cold, sickening certainty. The monster emerged slowly from the shadows, its long, gnarled claws glinting red in the dim light, as it traced deep gouges into carpet and floor alike. It was huge, even on all fours it easily towered over him, it was a nightmare made flesh.

And then, he saw her, his mother, lying on the ground, her body mangled and broken, with parts of her missing. She was bleeding, her tears mixing with the blood as she clawed forward, desperately trying to speak, her voice barely above a whisper. "Run," she gasped. "Run, my son. You have to survive."

The monster turned its attention to him, its bloody maw snapping shut with a sickening crunch as it fixed its eyes on him with a hunger that made his blood run cold. He tried to move, tried to run, but his legs wouldn't respond. He was frozen in place, staring at the monster as it advanced on him and pounced.

And then he woke up, gasping for air, his heart pounding in his chest. It had only been a dream, but it had felt so real, so vivid.

He sat up in bed, still reeling from the nightmare. He glanced at the clock on his bedside table and groaned. It was already 6:30 am. He had to get ready for school.

He dragged himself out of bed and stumbled towards the bathroom, splashing his face as the cold shower water ran over him. The memories of the dream were still fresh in his mind, and he couldn't shake off the dreadful feeling that lingered in his chest.

He got dressed in a hurry and rushed downstairs, making himself a quick breakfast. His mind was elsewhere as he ate, and he barely registered the taste of the food. He briefly pictured his mother standing over the stove and smiling at him as she worked. The thought made him lose his appetite.

As he made his way to school, he couldn't help but feel like he was being watched. He kept glancing over his shoulder, but there was no one there.

The feeling persisted, though, until he finally reached the school gates. The day dragged on, and he found it hard to concentrate on anything. He barely registered what was being taught in class and was lost in his thoughts for most of it.

As he made his way to the cafeteria for lunch, he decided to skip it altogether. He needed some fresh air, and the rooftop seemed like the perfect place to find it. He climbed the stairs to the roof and stepped out into the sunlight. The breeze felt good on his face, and he took a deep breath, savoring the moment.

That's when he saw her, a girl with silver hair he'd never seen before standing on the edge of the roof. She seemed lost in thought, staring out at the horizon.

He approached her, slowly, not wanting to startle her. "Hey," he said softly. She turned to look at him, and he saw that her eyes were a strange shade of amber, almost glowing in the sunlight. "Hey," she returned quietly.

They stood there in silence for a moment, both lost in their thoughts. He couldn't help but feel drawn to her, despite not knowing anything about her.

"Are you okay?" he finally asked, breaking the silence. She looked at him briefly. "I'm fine," she said. Her eyes betrayed nothing and neither did her voice, but he could tell that she wasn't.

He wanted to ask more, to know more about her, to understand what was troubling her, if only just to forget his own, but before he could get a word out, the bell rang, signaling the end of lunch.

She wordlessly got off the ledge, coming to stand in front of him, meeting him about chest level. The silence continued, until she moved to walk past him. "Wait," he said, and she turned back to look at him.

He cleared his throat, feeling suddenly nervous. "I'm sorry, I didn't catch your name," he winced at how awkward that sounded, and wondered if maybe he'd ventured a bit too far.

"It's Koneko," she said, her voice barely above a whisper. "And yours?"

He introduced himself, feeling a sense of relief wash over him. The tension between them seemed to dissipate somewhat, as she extended her hand, and he shook it, feeling a jolt of electricity run through his body at her touch. "I'm Naruto," he said, feeling a warmth spreading in his chest.

They exchanged a few more pleasantries before parting ways, and he was left feeling a strange connection that he couldn't explain.

Over the next couple of days, he found himself looking for opportunities to talk to her. They didn't have any classes together, but he would always try to run into her during lunch or between classes, always finding out a little more about her each time. He learned that she was new in town, that she really liked animals, especially cats, and that she was quite passionate about sweets.

She was quiet and reserved, but there was a hint of something more beneath the surface. He couldn't quite put his finger on it, but he knew that there was something special about her. He found himself drawn to her, unable to stay away.

It wasn't until Friday that he finally worked up the courage to ask her out on a date. They were sitting together on the roof again, eating their lunches, when he blurted it out. She looked at him, surprised and he felt anxiety building up in his chest.

He took a deep breath, trying to steady himself. "Koneko, would you like to go out with me?" he repeated, his voice barely above a whisper.

Koneko's eyes widened in surprise, clearly caught off guard by his question. For a moment, there was only silence between them as she seemed to consider her answer.

"I'm sorry," she finally said with downcast eyes, "but I can't. I don't think I'm ready for a relationship, I still need some time to figure things out."

He felt a pang of disappointment, but he tried to hide it. "That's okay," he said, trying to sound casual. "We can still hang out as friends, right?"

She looked up at him then with a tiny smile, and he felt a warmth spread through his chest. "Yeah, I'd like that," she said softly.

They spent the rest of the lunch period chatting like old friends and he even got a laugh out of her, and he couldn't help but feel grateful that she had agreed to spend time with him, even if it wasn't exactly what he had hoped for.

Over the next few weeks, they continued to spend time together. They would meet up during lunch breaks, hang out after school and spend their weekends exploring the city, trying new food places and checking out different pet shops.

As they spent more time together, he found himself falling for her more and more each day, despite the fact that they were just friends. He loved the way she laughed, the way she looked at him, and the way she was always there to listen when he needed someone to talk to. And so, he was content just being there for her, listening to her, and supporting her whenever she needed it.

As their relationship grew, he began to sense that there was more to Koneko than she let on. She was still quiet and reserved, but he could see a spark in her eyes that he had never seen before, and he was pretty sure no one else was allowed to see it.

It wasn't until a few months later, on a warm summer night, that she finally agreed to go on a real date with him. They went to a small ice cream shop downtown, sharing a sundae as they talked and laughed.

As they walked back to her apartment, he took her hand in his, feeling a rush of excitement and nerves all at once. "Thank you for going out with me tonight," he said, his voice barely above a whisper, as it usually was when he was around her.

She looked up at him, her eyes shining in the moonlight. "Thank you for asking me," she replied, squeezing his hand gently.

He felt his heart swell with happiness, knowing that he had finally won her over. As they reached her front door, he leaned in to kiss her, his heart racing with anticipation.

She kissed him back, her lips soft and sweet against his. And in that moment, there was only him and her, nothing else mattered. He knew that he had found something special with Koneko, something worth fighting for.

Over the next few weeks, Naruto and Koneko's relationship grew stronger, yet Naruto couldn't quite shake the feeling that something was off.

Koneko seemed distant and preoccupied. She had been spending a lot of time with a group of friends that he didn't know much about, and she always seemed hesitant to talk about it.

Said group were all members of the Occult Research Club which Koneko herself was the newest member of. An exclusive club that to his knowledge currently only had four members.

The name alone should have been enough to arouse suspicion, let alone the fact that it was an invite-only club despite being registered as an extracurricular. Strangely, he was alone in his suspicions, as everyone else at the school seemed too occupied with swooning over the admittedly attractive club members to care.

One day, as they were walking back from the library, Naruto finally decided to confront her about it. "Hey, Koneko," he started, taking her hand in his. "Is everything okay? You seem a little distant lately."

She looked at him, her expression unreadable. "I'm fine," she said, her voice devoid of any emotion.

But Naruto knew better. "Are you sure? Is there something you want to talk about?" She looked at him for a moment guiltily, and he knew that she knew what he was referring to. "It's nothing, really. I've just had a few emergency meetings with a few friends of mine."

"Meetings? What about?" Naruto asked, his curiosity piqued.

Koneko hesitated again, before relenting a bit. "It's for the club at school. The president needed me to help out with research."

"Yeah, I have noticed that you've been spending a lot of time with Rias and your other friends. The occult research club, huh, sounds pretty interesting. Maybe I can sit in on one of your meetings sometime?"

Koneko looked at him, her expression unreadable. "I'm sorry, Naruto," she said, "but it's invite-only. I can't just bring anyone. Besides I don't really think it's something you'd be interested in, it's a lot more boring than it sounds."

Naruto felt a twinge of disappointment, but he didn't want to push her. "Okay, I understand. But if you ever want to talk about it or anything else, just know that I'm here for you." Koneko smiled weakly, but Naruto still couldn't shake the weird feeling.

The feeling of unease that had been gnawing at him only grew since Koneko's refusal to let him join the occult research club. He couldn't help but wonder what secrets they were keeping. His curiosity had only grown in intensity, until he decided that he needed to find out what they were up to.

A few days later after their argument, Naruto snuck around to the old school building after classes had ended. He had been trying to figure out what Koneko was keeping from him, and his curiosity had gotten the better of him.

Naruto approached the school building and noticed Koneko walking towards it with another student, a blond boy he vaguely recognized. Curiosity got the better of him, and he climbed up a nearby tree to get a better view of what was going on inside.

As he peered through the branches, his thoughts turned to his past, to the trauma of his mother's murder and the constant struggle he faced in dealing with his emotions. It was this sense of uncertainty and fear that fueled his need to uncover the truth, to protect those around him from the potential danger lurking in the shadows.

But his spying was short-lived when Koneko caught him in the act. "Naruto, what are you doing here?"

He turned around to see Koneko standing at the base of the tree, looking up at him with a mix of annoyance and concern. "I was just...uh...taking a walk," he stumbled over his words, feeling embarrassed.

Koneko raised an eyebrow, clearly not buying his story. "In a tree?"

It was obvious she had seen him following her and the other student, but he couldn't help it. He wanted to be included, to feel like he belonged somewhere. Naruto couldn't think of a good response, so he just shrugged.

"You followed me, didn't you?" she accused.

Naruto hesitated, feeling guilty but also defensive. "I just wanted to see what you were up to," he admitted, "I couldn't help but feel left out."

Koneko sighed, shaking her head. "You can't be up there, Naruto. It's against the rules."

"What's happening in there, Koneko?" Naruto asked. "I'm just curious about what you and your friends are involved in."

Koneko looked at him for a moment, her expression softening. "I'm sorry, Naruto. But I can't tell you. Club matters are confidential and only open to club members. Please understand." Naruto felt a wave of frustration wash over him.

He uncrossed his arms and sighed. "I understand, but it's just hard for me to accept not knowing. I care about you and your safety, and if there's something going on that could harm you, I need to know."

Koneko looked at him, her expression conflicted. "I appreciate your concern, Naruto. But I promise you, I'm not in any danger. Please, just go home and trust me."

Naruto hesitated for a moment before nodding. "Alright, I'll go. But if you ever need my help or want to talk about anything, you know where to find me."

Koneko smiled weakly, and Naruto turned and left. However, as he walked away, he couldn't shake off the nagging feeling that something wasn't right about the Occult Research Club.

Koneko watched him go, feeling guilty for not being able to tell him everything. She knew that Naruto had his own demons to battle, and the last thing she wanted was to burden him with hers. But she couldn't shake off the feeling that she was putting him in danger by keeping him in the dark.

Naruto walked away from the school building, his mind racing with questions and suspicions. He couldn't help but feel like Koneko was keeping something important from him, something that he needed to know. As he walked, the memories of his tragic past crept up on him, causing him to falter for a moment.

He took a deep breath, trying to push the memories back. He couldn't afford to let them consume him. But the more he thought about it, the more he realized that he couldn't just sit back and wait for Koneko to tell him the truth. He needed to find out for himself what was going on. He just hoped that he wasn't putting himself or his relationship in jeopardy.

Meanwhile, Koneko made her way back into the old school building, where the occult research club held their meetings. She greeted Rias and the other members as warmly as was expected of her, trying her best to put her earlier conversation with Naruto out of her mind.

Little did she know that their conversation had been overheard by someone in the school building. Rias had watched the pair from the same window Naruto had been attempting to peep through, taking note of everything that had transpired between Naruto and Koneko.

Rias cast frequent glances at her Rook - who was seemingly unaware of her King's gaze, and she wondered about her relationship with that boy. And more importantly what she would have to do about it.

Back in his own apartment now, Naruto couldn't shake the feeling of unease that had settled in his chest. He paced back and forth; his mind preoccupied with thoughts of Koneko and the occult research club.

Suddenly, mother's murder hit him like a ton of bricks. He remembered her smiling at him that morning, completely unaware of the tragedy that would occur later that day. The memory was overwhelming, and he crumpled to the ground, tears streaming down his face.

A knock on the door interrupted his grief. He wiped his tears away and went to answer it, finding a note attached to the handle. The note read, "Meet me at the old school building at midnight. Come alone."

Naruto's heart raced as he read the note, wondering who could have left it and what they wanted. He couldn't shake the feeling that his curiosity about the occult research club and Koneko's secret had finally caught up to him.

He spent the rest of the day trying to guess who could have left him the mysterious note. Could it be someone from the occult research club? Or maybe it was someone who had noticed him spying on them during their meetings? The possibilities seemed endless, but one thing seemed certain: the note was a trap, and he had fallen right into it.

As he stood in his apartment, the weight of the situation began to settle in. He could feel a sense of unease creeping up his spine, his paranoia kicking in, as he thought about the potential consequences of this meeting. What if he was walking into a dangerous situation? What if he never made it back home?

But despite the fear that gripped him, Naruto knew that he couldn't ignore the note. His curiosity about the occult research club and Koneko's secret had finally caught up with him, and he had to know the truth.

As the hours passed, Naruto tried to distract himself with mundane tasks, but his mind kept wandering back to the note. Who could have left it? And what did they want from him? The questions crossed his mind more than a few times, but the answers still eluded him.

As Naruto made his way to the old school building, the darkness and stillness of the night made his footsteps sound like a drumbeat. When he arrived, he was a bit startled to see someone waiting for him, though their face was hidden in shadows.

"Who are you?" Naruto asked, a single drop of sweat betraying his unease.

The figure stepped forward, their expression one of regret. Relief flooded through him, but it was quickly replaced by confusion.

"Koneko, What are you doing here?" he asked.

Koneko looked at him, her expression pained. "I'm sorry, Naruto," she said. "I know you're upset with me, and I want to apologize. But I can't reveal the secret of the occult research club. It's not something I can share with anyone who's not a member."

Naruto felt frustrated at her words. "If you weren't going to tell me, then why did you call me out here?" he demanded, holding up the note.

Koneko's eyes widened in surprise. "I didn't send that," she said firmly.

Naruto felt a pang of disappointment. He had hoped she had finally decided to tell him the truth. "Then who did?" he asked.

Koneko looked at him, her eyes sad. "I don't know, but I'm glad you came, I wanted to make things right between us," she said. "I hope you can forgive me."

Naruto was hesitant. "Can I trust you?" he asked.

Koneko looked at him with sincerity. "Yes, you can," she said.

Naruto felt a sense of relief wash over him. "Okay, I trust you," he said quietly.

Koneko smiled, relieved. "Thank you, Naruto. I'm sorry I can't tell you more, but the secret of the occult research club is something we take very seriously."

Naruto nodded, understanding but still curious. "I forgive you," he said. "But I still want to know what's going on with that club. Can you give me a hint?"

Koneko shook her head. "I'm sorry, Naruto. But I can't give it away."

Naruto sighed, accepting her answer but still curious. As he turned to leave, Koneko called out to him.

"Please be careful, Naruto," she said. "I don't want you to get hurt."

Naruto nodded, his thoughts in turmoil. He couldn't shake the feeling that there was something big going on, something he didn't understand. But he had said he trusted her, so he had to let his curiosity go. As he walked home, he couldn't stop thinking about Koneko's words and the secret of the occult research club.

Naruto sat on the couch, fidgeting with his hands as he recounted the recent events to his therapist. "I tried to trust her, I really did," he said. "But things just weren't adding up," he explained.

The man sitting across from him nodded, scribbling something down in their notebook. Naruto continued. "The club meetings were becoming more frequent and lasting longer, sometimes even over the weekends. And, I kept running into their Vice President, which seemed odd."

The therapist jotted down notes, giving Naruto his full attention. "Then I noticed scuff marks on Koneko's clothes, and it concerned me," Naruto said, his expression pained. "I knew she denied being hurt, but I couldn't shake the feeling that something was off." The therapist listened, but probed further, "And you decided to take matters into your own hands?"

Naruto nodded. "I kept a closer eye on them, did my own investigation, and found some things that concerned me." He placed four dossiers on the coffee table between them.

"I'm not sure what to do with this information, but I needed to talk to someone about it."

Naruto sat across from his therapist, feeling the weight of his concern bearing down on him. "I'm worried about Koneko and the occult research club," he said, trying to keep his voice calm.

The therapist nodded, he pointedly ignored the dossiers on his desk and settled his gaze on Naruto. "I understand your concern, Naruto. But it's important to consider whether your fears are rooted in reality or your own anxieties."

Naruto bristled at the suggestion that his worries were unfounded, but he knew the therapist was only trying to help.

"I've been observing the club's meetings and even followed Koneko once. I know it's not the right thing to do, but I can't shake this feeling that there's something dangerous going on," he explained, trying to keep his emotions in check.

The therapist leaned back in his chair; his expression unreadable. "It's natural to want to protect those around us, but sometimes we have to trust that they can handle themselves. Have you considered that your own trauma may be clouding your judgment?"

Naruto felt a twinge of irritation at the suggestion, but he knew the therapist had a point. "I understand what you're saying, but I can't just ignore my gut feeling."

The therapist regarded Naruto thoughtfully over his glasses. "What exactly do you plan on doing if you find evidence? Going to the school administration, the police?"

Naruto shook his head. "I don't want to get Koneko in trouble, and without solid evidence, I doubt anyone will believe me."

The therapist closed his notebook and sat back. "Naruto, it's natural to feel curious and worried for your friend, but be cautious. Intruding into their affairs could lead to unforeseen consequences. Remember, it's not your place to pry into their affairs, it could lead to consequences that you're not prepared for."

Naruto nodded; his eyes cast down. "I know, but I can't just sit by and do nothing. Koneko means a lot to me, and I don't want anything bad to happen to her."

The therapist watched Naruto with a patient expression. "Naruto, as your therapist, I must say, Naruto, I'm a bit concerned about your obsession." He took off his glasses and offered a gentler expression, hoping to put the young man at ease.

"I take it you won't be deterred, so let's see what you've found," he said, acknowledging Naruto's persistence. "Perhaps we can devise a plan that won't put you in harm's way or jeopardize your relationship."

Naruto nodded eagerly, reaching for the dossiers on the coffee table. He opened the first one and pointed to a photo of a girl with striking red hair. "This is Rias Gremory," he explained. "She's the president of the Occult Research Club and Koneko's boss."

The therapist furrowed his brow slightly but remained calm as he perused the dossier. "I see," he murmured, scanning through the pages for any relevant information. "And who is this?" he asked, gesturing to a photo of a girl with long black hair.

"That's Akeno," Naruto replied. "She's Rias's right-hand woman, collectively the two are called the 'Two Great Ladies of Kuoh Academy'. She's the Vice President I mentioned earlier."

The therapist nodded, making a note in his pad as he flipped through the pages. "I see You've done your research. And what about these other two?" he asked, pointing to the remaining dossiers.

"That's Kiba," Naruto said, pointing to a picture of a handsome guy with short blond hair. "He's a member of the Occult Research Club, so he's around Koneko too."

"And finally, this is Koneko," Naruto said, pointing to the last dossier. "I feel guilty for including her in this. Investigating your girlfriend just seems wrong, but I can't overlook anything."

The therapist placed a reassuring hand on Naruto's shoulder. "Your intentions are good, Naruto. You're trying to help her, not harm her."

Naruto sighed, feeling lost. "What do we do now?"

He placed a reassuring hand on Naruto's shoulder. "From what you've gathered so far, none of them particularly stand out as the type that would try to harm your girlfriend. On the surface they seem like normal students, maybe a bit high-performance if the nickname 'Two Great Ladies of Kuoh Academy' is any indication. But besides that, nothing else."

The therapist leaned back in his chair, stroking his chin thoughtfully. "We have limited information, so it's hard to build a comprehensive psych profile of these individuals. But I will try my best to work with what we have."

Naruto looked up, grateful for the therapist's guidance. "Thank you. I don't want to give up on this."

The therapist stood up, taking the dossiers from Naruto. "Of course, Naruto. You know I'm always here to help." He paused for a moment, looking down at the dossiers in his hands. His expression turned unreadable.

Naruto noticed the change in his therapist's demeanor and frowned. "Is something wrong?"

The therapist cleared his throat, bringing his attention back to the present. "I'll need some time to review these files before our next session. I'll be in touch when I have something more substantial."

Naruto nodded, sensing a hint of unease in the therapist's voice. "Okay, thank you." He stood up and headed towards the door. "Take care."

The therapist watched him go, his mind racing with concern. Naruto had always been a challenging patient, but this sudden foray into investigation was uncharted territory.

The boy was scratching at the surface of something much deeper and darker than he could imagine, and that made him feel uneasy.

He knew he needed to intervene before Naruto got in over his head. But he couldn't risk scaring the boy off and cause him to do something reckless. He needed to keep a close eye on Naruto's investigation, and keep him from discovering too much, especially if his suspicions were correct.

Zabuza glanced at the file labeled Rias. "Crimson hair," he muttered to himself.

With his luck his suspicions were bound to be correct, and if they were, Naruto was in for a world of trouble. He had to prevent him from going any further down this dangerous path.

In the following week, Naruto decided to prioritize his relationship with Koneko and temporarily suspend his investigation. This was aided by the fact that Koneko's club meetings seemed to have taken a hiatus.

Every day after school, Naruto and Koneko spent their time enjoying each other's company. They went to the arcade, played mini-golf, and even went on a picnic in the park. As they laughed and joked around, Naruto relished the warmth that he felt in his chest when he was around Koneko, and he couldn't help but smile at her.

"I never thought I'd enjoy mini-golf so much," Naruto said as he nudged Koneko's side.

"You probably shouldn't be enjoying it as much, seeing as I'm ahead of you by over 20 points," Koneko teased.

Naruto laughed, "That's not fair, you have an advantage with those cat-like reflexes."

As they walked back from the park, Naruto wrapped his arm around Koneko's shoulder, and she leaned into him. He felt her breath on his neck, and it sent a shiver down his spine.

"You know, we should do this more often," Naruto said. "Just the two of us, having fun."

Koneko nodded, snuggling a bit more into his side. "That would be nice."

As the week progressed, Naruto and Koneko's connection deepened, with signs of growing affection showing in small gestures and moments. They held hands during a scary movie, shared a cone of ice cream and even stole kisses when they thought no one was looking.

However, as the week came to a close, Koneko's club activities began to take over once again, leaving Naruto feeling neglected. He tried not to show it, but he couldn't help but feel disappointed when Koneko cancelled their plans for a date.

"It's okay," Naruto said, trying to sound understanding. "I know your club is important to you."

Koneko looked guilty, "I'm sorry, Naruto. I promise we'll make it up next week."

Naruto smiled weakly, "Yeah, of course. Next week." But deep down, he wondered if their growing connection was only a temporary moment that would be snatched away by Koneko's busy schedule.

Over the next few days, Naruto struggled to balance supporting Koneko and continuing his investigation behind her back. It was an emotional rollercoaster, feeling guilty for betraying her trust while also feeling a sense of duty to uncover the truth.

As Koneko's club activities continued to take over her schedule, Naruto tried to remain understanding and patient, but it was challenging. He couldn't shake the feeling of disappointment and frustration, even as he put on a brave face.

As Naruto continued to investigate the Occult Research Club, he found himself hitting a wall. Despite his discreet inquiries, he couldn't find any evidence of actual occult activity. The club seemed to consist of nothing but hanging out and chatting. Naruto couldn't help but wonder why they needed so many meetings and such a large budget for what appeared to be mere superstition and folklore.

His anxiety only grew as Koneko became more invested in the club over the weekend, with her having to run out on him on their date. He was feeling overwhelmed, and it seemed like there was no end in sight.

Then on Monday, Naruto received some shocking news that set not only him, but the whole school reeling. He had been lost in thought as he walked down the school hallway when he heard the whispers of some students. "Did you hear? Issei Hyoudou just joined the Occult Research Club."

The statement had been enough to stop the blond boy in his tracks.

Even as he lay in bed that night, Naruto still couldn't shake the thought out of his head.

Issei Hyoudou, the infamous pervert, had just joined the ORC. Naruto's blood already boiled simply at the mere thought of Issei.

Naruto couldn't stand the thought of the infamous pervert being around Koneko. It was emotionally taxing, and he didn't know how much more he could take.

But as he lay in bed, he realized that Issei's presence in the club could be the key to his investigation. He knew he had to keep pushing forward, even though it was taking a toll on him.

While far from ideal, this was it, the piece that he'd been looking for.

'Issei Hyoudou.' He thought darkly.
