Hello again everyone its been a while hasnt it ? first of all i want to thank those who stick to this story i know i havent posted in a VERY long time but due to some circumstance i had hit a big writer block , mostly due the very dissapointing last 2 season of miami and then the cancelation of the show and honestly my writer block is its still going . This chapter i have been woking on it for at least a year and i was never happy with it , but since i have received reply asking me to continue with the story i have decided to post it even though its not really complete in my eyes and i will do my very best to continue , anyway i hope you guys will like it and gieme your feedback , i appreciate them and they make me smile .
Going through the different brochures the travel agency had provided for her Calleigh could'nt make up her mind .When the nice and helpfull lady had expalined to her the many possibilities or places to see Calleigh had half listen half wonder , what would had Eric wanted , which island he would have choosen , which hotel , so many possibilites that left her even more confused .
Eric would now all these things , would know where to go which adventures to try after all it had been his dream that had become hers the instant he made it clear to her .
'' ma'am ...ma'am ...''
Giving the lady in front of her ,all of her attention Calleigh tried to process what she was saying .
'' If you want a more relaxing trip i suggest traveling thorugh the mainland the ''big island has the local call it or if your feeling more adventurous maybe Lanaii , the perfect place to escape the busy body life of miami , Without a single traffic light, Lanai is a true island getaway for luxury, romance and privacy away from crowds. Or if your looking for a more romantic getaway with your significant other may i suggest Kauai .The oldest and northernmost island in the Island chain is graced with dramatic, natural beauty.''
Has the girl spoke and spoke about her many possibilities calleigh internally rolled her eyes at her , she sounded exactly like the brochures making her planning her trip even more uncomfortable .
''May i ask if you and your significant other are looking for somewhere romantic to relax or more like a romantic adventure? ''
Glaring at the girl Calleigh wanted to strangle her , after all he was alone in front of her , she fought the urge to look around her to show the girl that there was no one else sitting rigth there in front of her .
CAL: I'll be going alone !
'' ohh well in that case we have single group , that would give you a cance to mingle and find the perfect man ''
When the girl giggle that was the last straw for Calleigh , this was the perfect example in front of her of why people thought blonde were stupid .
CAL: You know what i'Ll find my own way , thank you .
'' But...but ...
Has Calleigh stood from her seat to leave , she was in no mood to endure her , the girl follow her to the door doing her best to keep her sales pitch .
'' Ma'am ...Ma'am i beg you to reconsider planning a trip without an agency is you know...hard.''
Rolling her eyes Caleligh pushed the door open and let it closed behind her right in the travel agent face .How hard could it be to plan a trip , reserved the ticket , the hotel and thats it , she didn't want all those corporate vacancy where you have to be at a certain place at a certain time ,where you came back even more exhausted then when you arrived .No she wanted to experience the real Hawaii , just like Eric would have wanted mingle with the locals ,explore the many ilsnad Hawaii had to offer .
She idnt know how long she would stay there , wasnt even planning a return date it would take has long has she needed , after all there was worst place in the world to find yourself and who knows maybe she would even take a detour to Puerto Rico after she was done with Hawaii .Who knew what the futur held for her .
Making her way to her car a little boy rushing his mother ran in front of her .stopping in frotn of the nearest toy store and glancing through the window .
'' see mommy its that one , i want santa to bring me that one right there ''.
The mother bend next to her son smilling has well whispering to him in a way only a mother could .
With a faint smile Calleigh opened her car door but instead of getting in she turned back and looked back at the toy store , she sudeenly realized how bad of a god mother she had been , she hadnt even bought Joey a christmas gift yet this year and christmas was just a few days away .
A few minutes later she foudn herself with a dilemma , has she ponder choosing between a spiderman figures or a set of various hot wheels , knowing Joey likes both of things she couldnt make up her mind . Plus her patience was wearing thin aready , the store was pack to point where you couldnt move an inch without bumping into someone or being push into the toys .
Exhaing deeply so she didnt loose her cool she took a long deep breath closed her eyes and ounted to ten she made to 6 before a rude women bump into her and didnt even apologised .
Deciing on the better option she choosed both toys , after all she had been a bad god mother and neee to make a mend with a 3 year old sweetheart of a boy who deserved better then her for a godmother to spoil him rotten .
Has she made her way through the cashier her patience grew even tiner when she saw the very long she had too wait for adding that to the screaming childrens around , the ruede women talking too loud on her cellphone about her meningfully life .calleigh wished she was already in Hawaii , where the busy life of Miami would escape her .
But has she looked down at the gift in her hands she hope not only that Joey would like then and make him smile but it also brought back a time where things had been simpler for her .
She hadnt call things simple back then but today they seem meaningless , it had been a time where they werent quite lover not quite friends and where the gloom of her smoke inhalation still linger over them. Eric had called her in some sort of a panic , telling her he needed her help to find a suitable gift for his 6 years old nephew whos birthday was on the very same day .
So on a bright and sunny saturday afternoon she found herself at a toy store filled with screaming kids and parents either overwhelmed or who simply didnt care .She never knew how much small childrens could scream so loud or run so fast . Soon she had fet a bit overwhelmed , but Eric much use to the chaos that children could bring had reach for her with a chuckle ad made a path for her to a much quieter sides of the stores . When he hadnt let go of her her she found herself glancing at their join hands ,fingers linked she ran the pad of her thumbs over his knuckles .
For Eric it had seen so natural that he hadnt even think twice while for her it had been a small step in the right direction .
For a man who had been in a rush to find a good toy for his nephew he surely was taking his time to pick one , not that Calleigh minded but she was more and more suspicious about his true motive . Especially when Eric playfully pressed all the '' try me '' button on the toys and chuckles like the big kid he was .
45 minutes later they had found the perfect gift remote control race car that later had told her his nephew had deemed '' mega awsome '', his sister not so much.
Now has she paid and waited for the girl to wrap the toy so at least it would be ready for Joey she again found herself smilling at the memory , something she now wanted to happen more often .
Back at the precint Horatio was in his office staring at the wall he barely gotten off the phone that Jake was storming inside his office freshly back from the crime scene .
JAKE: SO ?
HOR: We got the go ahead ! he said with smile that had been a long time coming .
JAKE; Great i'll go tell her right now !
HOR: Wait Jake its not that easy .
JAKE: WHat you mean ?
HOR: I spoke with Coleman and he said Eric in bad shape he hit a bout of depression lost lot of weight and hes refusing to talk to anyone from the ATF !
JAKE: Thats understandable , i know how the ATF works they jsut keep lying and lying so i can imagine how hes feeling .
HOR: I'm just saying be ready for her reaction she might not take it has well as we think !
JAKE: i will be ! Believe me i've been preparing myself for this .
Has Horatio nodded simply to Jake fiddling with his sunglasses Jake immediatly walked away eager to tell Calleigh the news but at the same time apprehensive of how she could react to the news .Not that she wouldnt be happy but the lies once again would change her life .
Has he pushed the button of the elevator and waited Jake turned to Horatio and said .
JAKE: By the way Simmons found a contact lens at the scnes and we check ouur vic wasnt wearign any lens .
HOR: so it could belong to our killer .
JAKE: yeah simmons checking for match has we speak but since Natalia not working on DNA right now might take a while .
Sighting Horatio turn around to look at his lab as Jake walked in the elevator silently , Horatio took a moment to look around he spend so many hours here but latelty it wasnt a passion of his anymore , it was a burden .
A burden he used to be able to handle but not anymore , hsi body was failling him , Kyle was goign to be a father and horatio a grandfather , he give up so much for this job in the past but now he was ready to hand over te reign , but to who that was the question .
Putting on his sunglasses he walked away toward the stairs , now that Calleigh had been handle he needed to check on Ryan , hopefully Stetler acusation would turn out like usual , which was nothing , but again who knew what Ryan had been up too latelty even him Horatio had no idea what his team was up too . Another sign that it was time for him to retire .
Chaos , complete chaos thats what Calleigh had stumble upon at Natalia house ,at first seeing the police car and the front door open she fear for the worst . But now fear had settle into confusion ,officers that she recognised has IAB were invading Natalia household .
Has she tried to step inside the house she was stop by an officer who obviously didnt know who she was .
'' im sorry ma'am but you cant go any further there is an ongoing investigation! ''
CAL: AN INVESTIGATION ? ! LET ME IN THESE ARE MY FRIENDS THAT LIVE HERE !
Once again has Calleigh tried to step inside the officer stepped in front of her doing his best to intimadate her , but it took more then macho man who was used his muclse more then his brain to intimidate Calleigh Duquesne .
'' Ma'am if you interfer with this investigation i will have you detained !''
CAL: Ok your obviously new here , so im going to give you break , im officer Calleigh Duquenes and i...
'' Hum humm correction miss Duquesnes your currently on leave so therefore you cant represent yourself has an officer of the law ''
Calleigh had been rudely interrupted by none other then Rick Stetler and the smirk he had on his face has he stepped forward in the lobby made Calleigh blood boiled inside her veins .
CAL: Stetler i demand to know what is going on in here ?
RICK: You demand ? you demand ? whats makes you think your in any position to make any demands Miss Duquesne .
CAL : Let me in Stetler !
'' HEY DONT TOUCH THAT ! '''
Tip toeing over the IAB officer in front of her Calleigh saw a glimpse of Ryan arguing with one of Rick henchmen .
But when Calleigh heard the very loud piercing cry of Joey that when she took mather into her own hands .Pushing the officer standing in her way Calleigh made a few step into the house before coming face to face with Rick .
Clicking his tongue Rick smirked at Calleigh before moving out of her way and lettign her pass .
RICK: Come on in , the more the merrier right , i dont need to remind you not to touch anything .
Rushing pass him Calleigh ignored rick snarly comment , she quickly glanced toward the end of the hall where ryan apparent room was being ransack while ryan did his best to remain calm she could see that his temper was rising .
CAL : Natalia what is going on ? she asked in apanic has Natalis did her best to stop the streaming tears of her son.
Holding her son close in her arm Natalia was so frantic that she hadnt realized Calleigh was in the house at first
CAL: NATALIA ...
NAT : OH MY GOD CALLEIGH THEY COMPLETLY TEARING OUR HOUSE DOWN !
CAL: I can see that, what happened ?
NAT: Some...someone made accusation agaisnt Ryan and now they searching the house for evidence
As Natalia tried to multitask by asnwering Calleigh question , keeping her son quiet and keeping a watchfull eye on the IAB agents currently ransacking her house , Calleigh realized she wouldnt get anywhere with her right now . But the crying little boy in her friend arms neede more her attention then having her question answer .
