As important as their battles were, their schoolwork was just as important. Strategy, tactical doctrine, formations, maneuvers, exercises, logistics, it was all a lot to keep track of, so it was important that they brush up on it daily and not slack off on any of their education.

Akatsuki knew that, of course, but what had happened with Hibiki yesterday had proved to be a little too distracting, even a day later. The warmth of Hibiki's lips, the longing in her eyes, the hand she placed on Akatsuki's thigh, and their cuddling after had all been a lot to take in.

Almost as much to take in as their lessons for the day. Akatsuki struggled to pay attention all morning, lest she invite Ashigara-senpai's wrath, but with Hibiki seated right next to her it was almost impossible. She'd spent the whole morning casting furtive glances at Hibiki and, much to her chagrin, her girlfriend had apparently been able to focus without effort.

Eventually they were released for a break and for lunch, and Akatsuki was granted a reprieve from her amorous torment. She'd hurriedly left the classroom and headed straight for the bathroom, hoping a few minutes in there would be enough to calm her thoughts. She pushed the door open, the bathroom thankfully empty. She stopped at the sink and washed her hands, looking at herself in the mirror. She was quite happy with how she looked today, despite how stressful the morning had been. She turned her head to the left, then the right, and smiled. There were a few stray hairs, though. She closed her eyes and used her wet hands to straighten them all out, humming quietly. After a moment she decided she'd done enough and opened her eyes.

Hibiki was standing right behind her.

Akatsuki let out a shrill yelp of surprise and turned around, a coy smile on Hibiki's face. "Geez, Hibiki! Don't sneak up on me like that!" she said, and Hibiki bowed.

"Мне жаль."

"What does that even mean?" Akatsuki said. "Whatever, it's OK, I guess. What are you even doing here?"

Hibiki gave her a look. "This is a bathroom, Akatsuki," she said.

"Oh. Right. Sorry, today's been kinda...hard," she said. She grabbed a few sheets of paper towel from the dispenser and dried her hands off. "I haven't been able to focus on any of our lessons so far today."

"Neither have I," Hibiki said, and grabbed Akatsuki's hands. Akatsuki turned red and looked at her sister, looked at the longing gaze in her eyes, and swallowed the lump that had suddenly formed in her throat.

"Uh oh..." she said. All she was able to say before Hibiki dragged her into one of the stalls and locked the door. She turned Akatsuki around, pushed her onto the toilet, and sat on her lap. "Waitwaitwaiwaiwaiwai- MM!"

Akatsuki's protests were silenced by Hibiki's lips being pressed to her own. Her breath hitched in her throat and her heart skipped a beat, her stomach tightening. She stared, wide-eyed, into Hibiki's eyes and the strange, hungry gaze that stared back, peering into her soul, caused a different kind of feeling to well up inside her. One she didn't quite understand.

Hibiki put her hands on Akatsuki's shoulders and held her there as she kissed her, and for a moment Akatsuki couldn't do anything but take it. Her brain quickly rebooted and she wrapped her arms around Hibiki's back and returned her kiss.

That was more than enough to encourage Hibiki, who started kissing harder and more aggressively, turning their embrace from a chaste peck to an out-and-out makeout session. Akatsuki closed her eyes, feeling lightheaded, and tried to focus on breathing as she made out with Hibiki.

Some small, easily ignored part of her mind screamed at her. Screamed that she was a lady and ladies don't kiss their partner while on the toilet, but Akatsuki ignored that part of her mind. It wasn't as if she was using the toilet. She was just sitting on it, kissing her girlfriend, while her girlfriend's hands tightened on her shoulders.

This is...nice Akatsuki thought. She pulled Hibiki closer, their tummies touching, and gave in to the simple joy of kissing. Akatsuki had always thought of herself as a bold lady, but she couldn't help it when it came to Hibiki; she was so confident, so... Not domineering, but in control. She always initiated, she always led, and honestly, Akatsuki was just fine with that.

Her thoughts were wiped away as Hibiki's tongue entered her mouth, and she felt her whole body go rigid. She moaned, half in protest and half in pleasure, at the unexpected and alien but not unwelcome feeling. She let her sister roll her tongue around in her mouth, her own tongue responding in kind. She opened her eyes and was not surprised to see Hibiki staring at her, staring in to her, and another shudder ran through Akatsuki.

Hibiki pulled her tongue from Akatsuki's mouth and broke the kiss, her lips wet with her saliva. With their saliva. She licked her lips and that strange feeling returned to Akatsuki, the one that she was beginning to understand more and more. Hibiki started to pull away, cast a glance at Akatsuki's mouth, and apparently changed her mind. She leaned in and kissed Akatsuki again, a calmer and more tender kiss. Akatsuki's eyes fluttered shut and she returned the kiss.

At last Hibiki had apparently had enough and pulled back from Akatsuki. "Khorosho... Khorosho indeed..." she whispered, eyes half-lidded, and Akatsuki smiled. Hibiki climbed off Akatsuki's lap, one hand on Akatsuki's rapidly reddening cheek, and smiled back. She leaned down, kissed Akatsuki again, and released the lock to the stall. "We'd better get back to class."

Akatsuki nodded, her mind feeling clear for the first time that day. She looked up at Hibiki, who smiled again and stepped out of the stall, the door swinging shut behind her. Akatsuki wiped her mouth with the back of her hand and her smile widened. Kissing Hibiki was still a little scary at first, but she'd be lying if she said it didn't end up calming her. She'd be an even bigger liar if she said she didn't enjoy it, too. Maybe later, she thought, I'll be the one to start the kissing.

She stood, brushed her skirt to get all the wrinkles out, and reached up to push the stall door open, looking forward to getting back to class. Apparently some kissing was all she needed to clear her mind, though she had to wonder if she really would be able to focus on her classwork now. Her mind was already starting to wander again...

Akatsuki pushed the door open, walked out of the stall, and was about to leave the bathroom when she happened to glance to the left. There, standing by one of the sinks, was Sazanami. She'd apparently been washing her hands, water dripping from her fingers, and was about to reach for the paper towels when she noticed Akatsuki. She did a double-take at Akatsuki, glanced at the stall, and looked back at Akatsuki.

Oh my gosh, kill me now... Akatsuki thought, feeling the color drain from her face. Apparently Hibiki hadn't noticed her or, more likely, hadn't cared. There was no doubt that Sazanami had noticed her, though. Had noticed them, and had definitely noticed that the two of them had come out of one stall. Akatsuki opened her mouth, to try to deny or explain, but nothing came out.

Sazanami grabbed some paper towels and started drying her hands off as she quickly walked to the door. "Don't worry," she said as she passed Akatsuki, who hesitantly turned to follow her. "If I told, no one would believe me."
