Chapter Thirteen

Next day…

LA FBI building

Don nervously waited outside of Merrick's officer, hoping that it won't be bad news, as he didn't even want to think about what would even happen if they don't catch the stalker, though he was determined that no matter what, he would find some way to protect his family from any potential harm.

After a few agonizing minutes of waiting, Merrick's secretary finally made her appearance to tell him that Merrick was ready for him, much to Don's relief that at least he would get an answer.

"Thank you for coming, Eppes." Merrick said

'Like I had a choice, I don't have much jurisdiction here' Don thought to himself

"So, this stalker, any idea who could be behind this?" Merrick asked

"No sir, as we have yet to find anything in my father's past with the reported initials, though there could be still something else we haven't thought of yet." Don answered

"I see, while I know there's not too much to go on, I'll allow the FBI to consult on the case for now while you just be there for your family." Merrick said, "While I know you want to investigate this, I think it would be better that you just be there for them."

Don nodded, as he knew that it would be a conflict of interest for him to even be involved but he was glad that he would do the best that he could to protect his family.

"Thank you, sir, though I would appreciate being kept in the loop." Don requested

"That I can do, don't worry we will catch him."

The men shook hands with Don leaving, annoyed that he couldn't officially help the case but he knew that he would do whatever it took to keep his entire family from harm.
