"Mhmmm..." I grunted as I kicked up my legs, trying to stretch. But I feel like something is tying me down. I tried to move my arms only to feel the same. I opened my eyes only to regret it as bright lights rushed through my eyes.

"Hgrr.. What the..." I checked my appendages and I was right, they were all strapped down to a bed.. A hospital bed...

Ah shit.. I was right, those angels things are just hallucinations. I've gone mad have I? I mean, it explains why I'm tied to this hospital bed... Oh fuck! Am I going to an asylum!?

"Ahhh, you're awake." I turned my head to where that voice was coming from only to be blinded again by the light behind him.

"Hmm, motor functions.. Nominal.." The figure walked out of the light to reveal.. A skunk wearing a lab coat with a check board or something in hand.. Err paw. "Well, I think yours is at least nominal. You're definitely a fascinating specimen."

Nope, I am in fact, not hallucinating. Great experiment god.

He walked closer to me, too close for comfort. But soon got back to a more reasonable distance before readying his pen. "You have no fur except for your head.. No claws, no sharp teeth.. In your definition, are you prey or predator?"

"What?" I asked hesitantly.

"You definitely speak English, fascinating indeed... I ask again, are you prey or predator?"

"By predator, you mean hunt other animals?" I said.

"Yes, correct. Well, used to."

Am I a predator? Or prey? 30,000 years ago, we used to hunt food with just spears and clubs. So, yes? But we were also hunted by other predators...

"I guess both? I eat both meat and vegetables." I clarified to the skunk.

"So, you're an omnivore?" The skunk checked something in the list, but I couldn't quite see what the rest of the contents are.

"Yes?" I checked the strength of the things that are holding me down in this bed, they are actually quite strong. Not surprised though, But what its made has got me intruiged.

"You know, we could remove them for you if you cooperate with us. We tied you down because we thought you- we... Just didn't know what you're capable of yet." The skunk said with a creepy smile before returning to his neutral expression.

"If I answer ALL your questions, you will release me?" I was skeptical.

"Well, if you behaved, the test would soon be done and the mayor could set you free after introducing you to the rest of the world. Just imagine the headlines... A new species discovered..." The skunk looked up, seemingly in an imaginative state. The skunk shook its head before turning its attention back to me. "Sorry about that. Do you want to? Yes or no?"

Hmm, if I accept, this would be over soon, and I'd get to check out my new dig... Old dig? Same dig? Anyways, I'd get to do that but.. I'd attract a lot of attention after all this. Plus! He said "Could" do I get out of here or not? Hmmmm... Ehh, I'll take my chances. Fuck my life.

"Alright, fine. I accept and will do this little test of yours. Just make it quick, ok?" I said, still tied down to the bed.

"Splendid! Here, I'll unbind you to the hospital bed for cooperating." He pulled out a key from his breast pocket and inserted them into said binds. After four individual sounds of clicks coming from the binds, I was now free. I wiggled my arms and legs before stretching them with loud cracks and pops. I got out of the bed and stood at full height, towering the skunk in the process. The skunk looked at me wide eyed.

"You are tall! *ahem* quite tall. Tell me, how tall are you? Please measure in centimeters." the skunk briefly went out his professionalism before it returned to ready his pen and checkboard.

"187.96cm? Round that up to 188cm." I said while he wrote down the information in his notes.

"Yes, very tall. What are your species called?" The skunk adjusted his glasses before walking around and pulled out a comically small chair. For me at least.

"Uhm, well, we're commonly called 'humans' and our scientific name is homo sapiens." He once again, wrote in that little note of his.

"Mhm, yes." the skunk nodded and continued writing.

"How long is this gonna take again?" I was getting impatient and began tapping a tabletop with all five of my fingers.

"About 300 or so questions left." The skunk continued to write his notes. Not even sending a quick glance at me.

Oh for for the love of god. Fine, I can do this. Just a bit more, then I can go.

"You said you were both prey and predator, can you tell me why?" The skunk looked at me expectantly with his pen and notes in his paw.

Sigh* this is going to take a long while, isn't it? Yeah..

Time skip: 3 hours. Local time: 9 pm

"That's about all it! Thank you for answering all of my questions." The skunk lifted some papers and dropped them off on his desk.

"I imagine you're quite hungry. Yes?" Yeah! For the last 3 hours of this damn test!

"Gee. I don't know. Maybe?" I spat out and rolled my eyes. To my surprise, the skunk laughed before turning back to me.

"What would you like?"

Doc told me all they eat now is fish and vegetables, so.. Maybe a fish with vegetable soup.

"Uhh.. Fish soup with vegetables will do." I said.

"Alright, I'll tell a nurse to drop off your food here in 30 minutes. You. wait here." He closed the drawer on his desk and walked out the door with a soft thud.

Yay.. Best day of my life... Now it's time to check out the room while I still have time!

I speed-walked to his desk and rummaged through all the drawers, trying to get all sorts of information possible. I found a news paper between the papers inside the drawer.

Headline: Bunny cop saved the day with a fox as a partner. Date, March 13th, 2016. The first-ever bunny cop, judy hopps, has solved a case that has been terrorizing predators since last week. The one who has been doing these was mayor lion hearts assistant, bellweather. The evil doer hired hitmammals to shoot people with what's called a nigh howler serum. This serum turn predators into savages. We till don't know how it fully works but we are planning to unveil it someday. For now, the day was saved by two heroes, The new recruit and the bunny cop's, partner, nick wild. The fox was in fact, not a police officer, but a con artist! His charges was however, been relieved as a reward for helping out on the case. The fox is currently now on training to become a police officer! Next headline, First-ever fox cop joins the police force!

The news paper was filled with pictures of the two heroes. Suddenly, i heard footsteps outside the door. My eyes widened as i realized what a mess i just made.

Shit! Uhh! Put this here.. Down here.. Over yonder... And... Good! Oh god, the footsteps getting louder!

I quickly ran towards the hospital bed where i was tied to and sat down. I relaxed my face like anything i just did, did not happen. I'm good.. The footsept got louder and the door sooned creeked open, revealing and a cheetah wearing a nurse's outfit, while holding out a tray, of what seemed to be my food. She was struggling to open the door, so i got out of bed and walked towards her to help her open the door. I pulled the door open and she sighed in relief. She took a look at me and she gasped as her eyes widened.

"Oh my, doc said you were tall, but i did not expect you to be THIS tall, not as tall as a giraffe though, but you are still tall. Oh uhm, thanks for the help by the way, so.. here's your food.. Dr. Skunkson said you wanted this. Well, here you go i guess." She now reavealed the soup. It was a mix of vegetables and fish cut into small cubes. The smell was actually half decent. I'm not used to hospital food at all, so if this smells good, it's a plus.

"Uhm, yeah. You're welcome. And uh.. Thanks for the food i guess." I was trying to act all innocent in front of her but i was clearly not doing a good job.. I was shaking like a beyotch. The nurse noticed this before putting down the tray on a flat surface just beside her.

"Are you ok? You seemed a little shaken up. I'm not gonna turn savage if that's what you're scared about." I was only half afraid of her turning into a savage cheetah. I could probably take her on... Probably.

"No, no. It's nothing. Its uh.. Its uh... Just.. my species thing? Yeah." jesus, that was a big fat lie and she knows it. But i was surprised by her response.

"Oh yeah! For sure. I mean you are a newly discovered specie after all! We only know just a small percentage of your species right now!" Holy shit she believed that?? And also-

Small percentage my ass. The doctor basically violated my human rights. Actually, i didn't even think of it.. Am i the only human here? Do i have rights? Where was the fox before i decided to take a nap? Why the fuck am i in this world again?? ... ... Oh yeah, i'm an experiment. Damn, we are so small compared to a god. Its like we are just ants to them, experiment on us without consequences. Is this what if feels like to be an ant? This thought process is making me depressed as fuck. Gotta shake it off.

"Uhm.. Yeah, i'm actually a new species." I half lied as i try to make a fake back story as of how i got here.

"So, how did all this happen? Why are we just seeing you now?" hmm... Aha! I got it.

"I'm actually the last species of my kind. My parents.. died last week. As tradition, i burnt their bodies and spread it over a special forrest. Well, special for me anyways. We hid from all of the others for reasons i don't know. I just know, that they're always the best and i trust them with all of my being." I actually teared up a bit after saying this. Damn, you don't know worth until you lost the people that stayed with you, helped you, raised you... I just.. after all this ordeal, i hope i can see them again, hug them and never let go.. Say i love them and i took them for granted.

I hope you guys are both ok there on earth. I wish i can see you, hopefully soon.

"Yeah... After mourning for weeks, i decided to see the things they were hiding from me and.. I don't regret it. It was nice seeing new faces, even if they're not the same species as me. It's just... good.. To talk to someone." I wiped my tears away to take all of my advantage on this act. And damn was i good! Its a half fact though. The cheetah gave me a sympathetic look as she held both my hands. I was not used to this contact between me and a female, so i actually blushed a little.

"I'm sorry you have to go through those things. I hope you make friends here in this hospital and the outside world. Actually i'm your first friend right now, if you consider it.." Her eyes met with mine. They shined a beautiful green jade as her smile put me into a feeling of comfort.

"I- yeah, i guess you're my first friend.." I smiled at her as she smiles even more. Her phone suddenly buzzed followed by a ding. She let go of my hands and pulled out her phone.

"Sorry, i gotta go. I have stuff to do. Y'know, nurse stuff. Haha" She laughed as she typed in her phone, probably replying to the notification. She walked to the door, but before going out, she turned around.

"Oh, sorry, what was your name again?" She put on a gentle smile.

"Harison. You can call me harry for short, my friends call me that. Considering you're now my friend, i might as well tell you my nick name." I kept smiling as she giggled in her paw. God that was cute.. Wait what? Am i seriously falling for a freaking animal?! She's an animal you fucking dolt! Humans and animals don't make intimate relationships... She would probably reject me... What the fuck am i thinking!?

"Hehe. I'm angelina by the way. Angela for short. I know it's not that short, but that's what my friends call me." She giggle a bit more and in turn, my smile widened just a bit. "Well, considering you're also my friend now, you might as well call me that. Anyways, i gotta go. I'll see you tomorrow, if you want that?"

"Haha, yeah, sure." I breathed and relaxed my smile.

"Bye."

"Bye."

She smiled before turning around to walk out and close the door. The door closed with a thud and i soon went to the hospital bed to sleep or think. Either way would put me to sleep. The only sound i heard last was the airconditioning running in the backround as calming white noise. The white noise helped me sleep in the process. And here i go into dreamland. I died but i'm alive.
