This will pick up at the conversation Maggie and Jubal had in episode "Breakdown" (s05e12). I had several requests to write this as a relationship reveal, sorry that it took so long. This was written as everything in the episode had happened except for Jubal threatening Maggie about her job.

Maggie excused herself from the team to go over and speak to Jubal. She took a deep breath as she looked at Jubal,
"Hey… erm.." she actually felt nervous and that wasn't like her when it came to talking to Jubal "Jubal… you need to talk to someone, if you don't trust me enough to let me in then you need to talk to someone else. I know you Jubal, better than anyone… I know you've slipped and please don't lie to me…" she took a deep breath looking up to the sky before back at Jubal, trying to stop any tears from falling "I want to help you but I don't know how if you won't let me in." Maggie looked over her shoulder at the team before back at Jubal "I'll be at home in an hour, if you want to trust me and let me help you then come home and we can talk about it, we can get through this together, you just have to be honest and let me in to help Jubal. Don't answer me now, take time, clear your head, think about things and what it is you want and I'll know your choice if you turn up at home."
Maggie took another deep breath as she knew she had to try and gather her emotions before going back to face the team. Jubal was struggling the whole time Maggie was talking, he knew he couldn't trust his voice right now. If he spoke to her he knew he would lose the little grip he had left on his emotions. He just nodded when she told him about taking the time, she was right, he needed to clear his head and figure out what his next steps were. He watched her walk back towards the team, she told him she would help him, so maybe it hadn't changed how much she loved him and how she saw him.
OA walked alongside Maggie, Tiffany and Scola "Hey is everything alright with you and Jubal, things have seemed eh very tense since you got hit earlier?."
The team had noticed it, they weren't blind, Jubal and Maggie definitely weren't working together like they usually did.
"Yeah I mean honestly at one point it looked like you might slap him." Tiff shrugged when Scola nudged her gently "What? It's true we all said it."
"Doesn't mean you actually had to tell Maggie."
Maggie shook her head smiling a little "We just didn't agree on a few things on this case, I'm sure that things will work itself out with time."
"Until then keep you and Jubal separated… got it." OA teased playfully as he could see that his partner was stressed and clearly going through something and he wanted to try and help her.
Maggie shook her head hearing OA, but she couldn't shake the thoughts of Jubal from her head, nor how sick she felt with nerves. She had no idea if Jubal was going to come home, she hoped he did, she wanted to help him.
The team had noticed how quiet Maggie had been since her and Jubal had spoke outside central station, they had all seen how tense the two were, it was so clear they had words while working together but they wanted to try and give it time in the hope that in a few days they would figure it out. Until then the JOC might feel a little awkward.
When they got back to the office Maggie packed up her things and said a quick goodnight to the others before heading home. She sat her bag down as soon as she stepped inside their apartment and she froze when she walked into the living room as Jubal was sitting on their couch. She was honestly a little surprised to see him,
"Jubal?." It almost came out as a whisper as she didn't want to startle him as she knew he hadn't heard her come home.
Jubal lifted his head looking at Maggie and he wiped the tears that had fallen "Sorry, I didn't even hear you come home."
Seeing the tears running down his cheeks almost broke her heart in pieces, she walked to him as quickly as she could sitting down beside him as she wrapped her arms around him kissing his head. She had to take a deep breath to stop her own tears falling as she spoke,
"Hey it's okay, I'm right here babe."
Jubal wrapped his arms so tight around Maggie as he let more tears fall, he was afraid he might be hurting her with how tight he was hugging her, but he couldn't let go as he let more tears fall.
"I slipped Mags."
Maggie ran her hand along the back of Jubals head and along his back slowly, almost squeezing him when she heard his words,
"I know you did.. thank you for admitting it." She whispered as she placed kisses to his neck before pulling back to see him.
Jubal had no idea how Maggie was going to react to him actually admitting it, when he felt her pulling back he was so afraid that she was pulling away from him, but he totally understood if she was.
"I'm sorry I lied to you and I'm so sorry that I've let you down. I understand if this changes everything between us, no one would blame you for walking away right now." Jubal couldn't look at Maggie, he dropped his head even further when he finished speaking.
Maggie placed her finger under his chin to get him to look at her.
"You haven't let me down Jubal and it doesn't change how I see you or how much I love you." She moved her hand to his cheek wiping away some remaining tears "I'm upset for you, not at you babe, I know how hard you've worked on your sobriety, so to see you lose that is upsetting because you don't deserve this."
Jubal closed his eyes feeling Maggie's thumb caress his cheek, he didn't deserve her love and he sure as hell didn't think he deserved how patient and understanding she was being right now.
"I lied to you baby and I put you at risk today and I could apologise to you for the rest of our lives and it wouldn't be enough. I should be protecting you, not the one putting you in danger."
"Hey, he had hit me with that brick before you even came around the corner and I know now why you didn't shoot, you made the right call not taking the shot Jubal. We would be in a worse position right now if you took that shot because you know we would have to report it at work. As for the lying to me, I've been here with Erin, you know that, but the important thing is that you are sitting right here admitting the truth and that's what matters."
Jubal shook his head a little hearing Maggie's words and he couldn't stop the words from spilling out "I really don't deserve you, you are far too good for me Maggie Bell, and if any part of you wants to run for that door I get it."
"Well what happens next is up to you Jubal." Maggie noticed the slight confusion on Jubal's face so she decided to explain herself "You have to decide what your next step is, do you want to go recommit to your sobriety and if you do, is being in a relationship something you can handle while starting over?."
"I've already checked where I can attend a meeting later tonight, I wanted to come home and talk to you first." Jubal took Maggie's hand entangling their fingers "Being in a relationship with you could never be a bad thing baby, you and the kids are a huge reason I want to work on my sobriety again. I want to be the man that you all see in me and that I know I can be. But, if this is too much for you Mags I get it, this is not what you signed up for when we got together."
Maggie squeezed Jubals hand gently "Jubal… I knew you were in AA before we started dating, I knew your sobriety was something that would have to be taken one day at a time. I'm not going anywhere babe, I want to be right by your side helping you be the amazing man that I know you can be."
Maggie leaned in kissing Jubal softly as she ran her free hand along his arm to the back of his neck. When they broke the kiss Maggie lay her forehead lightly against his,
"I love you so much Jubal."
"I love you too Mags, more than you know." He kept his eyes closed as they sat with their foreheads resting lightly against each other until he heard his phone ringing. He pulled back to look at his phone sitting on their coffee table,
"That's Sam, it's probably Tyler's results."
Maggie squeezed Jubals hand lightly "Answer it babe I'll be right here the whole time I promise."
Jubal took a deep breath before he answered the phone, putting it on loud speaker straight away,
"Hey Sam, you are on loud speaker, Mags is here with me."
Maggie wrapped her arms around Jubal and lay her chin on his shoulder kissing his cheek, she wanted to offer support to him in any way possible.
"Hey Maggie… we just got Tyler's results.. it's just a cyst." Sam was clearly smiling so much that it could almost be heard in her voice "They want to drain it and put him on antibiotics but he's okay."
Jubal closed his eyes tight letting out the breath that he had been holding as a few tears fell when he heard Sams words. Maggie squeezed him a little tighter kissing his cheek again as she whispered to him "He's okay babe, he's really okay."
Before Jubal could say anything Sam was speaking again,
"He's up in bed but I can give him my phone if you guys want to talk to him?."
Jubal looked at Maggie in an almost panic as he shook his head as he wiped some of the tears. Maggie knew that there was no way Jubal wanted to talk to Tyler while he had alcohol in his system, even if Tyler wouldn't know over the phone. Maggie leaned closer to the phone,
"Hey Sam, can you hang on for one minute? I need to talk to you but I need to quickly do something first."
Sam was surprised to hear Maggie's words and also a little worried "Of course Maggie do what you need, I'll be here."
Maggie hit the mute button on Jubals phone as she looked at Jubal lifting her hand to caress his cheek "You don't want to talk to Tyler while you have alcohol in your system?." When she saw Jubal shake his head she continued "Are you okay with it if I talk to Sam about it?"
Jubal leaned in to Maggie's touch, he honestly did not deserve her being so gentle, patient and understanding with him right now "She deserves to know baby, as the kids mom, but you shouldn't be the one that has to tell her. I can find a way to do it."
"If you are okay with me talking to her babe I'm happy to do it for you." Maggie lifted Jubals head gently as he had lowered it while talking to her "We are in this together babe I promise." She leaned in kissing Jubal softly "Come lie with me while I talk to Sam."
Jubal hadn't taken his eyes off Maggie from she lifted his head back up, part of him was honestly surprised when Maggie asked him to lie with her, a large part of him thought that she still might pull away from him.
"Are you sure?." When Jubal saw the nod from Maggie he stood up to let her lie down first and he lay down beside her laying his head on her shoulder. He closed his eyes when he felt Maggie's fingers running though his hair after she had placed a kiss to his head. She definitely wasn't pulling away from him and that meant more to him than he could find words for right now.
Maggie waited until she was sure Jubal was comfortable before she took his phone off mute and off speaker, "Hey Sam, sorry about that."
"No need to apologise Maggie, but I have to admit you do have me a little worried, is everything okay?."
Maggie could hear the worry in Sams voice and she knew that Jubal could hear it as he moved even closer to Maggie.
"Unfortunately Sam things aren't great right now." Maggie took a deep breath and held Jubal a little tighter "Jubal slipped today."
"Oh my god what?… No… he had been doing so well with his sobriety… was this because of Tyler's health scare?."
Jubal could hear Sam, he honestly loved Maggie even more for being the one dealing with this as he knew he was not in a place to be honest with Sam right now.
Maggie felt Jubal snuggle in even tighter, she ran her hand along his back slowly, holding him as close to her as was humanly possible.
"It was a lot of things building up over time it wasn't just Tyler's scare. But, he did come home and admit it all to me and he's going to an AA meeting later tonight, I will get him through this, but he didn't want to talk to Tyler with alcohol in his system."
"Him coming home and admitting that to you Maggie is a huge step, it took him a very long time the last time to admit it to himself never mind anyone else."
"I'm honestly so proud of him, the strength it took from him to be so honest with me and it be so soon, I know it wasn't easy for him."
Jubal couldn't help as a few more tears fell as he heard Maggie tell Sam she was actually proud of him. He was so sure that this slip would have cost him his relationship with Maggie, yet here she was telling his ex wife that she was proud of him for being so honest with her.
Maggie had felt the way Jubals breath caught when she said she was proud of him, and she truly meant her words. She knew Jubal could have kept denying it and walked away from her, but instead he was honest and wanted to get back into AA. She ran her fingers through his hair slowly placing kisses to his head as she felt his tears against her neck causing her to have to fight back against letting her own tears fall.
"If there's anything I can do to help you or Jubal through this just let me know and I will give the kids a huge hug and kiss from you both. I also know the kids would ask me to get you to give their dad the tightest hug from them, especially Tyler."
Maggie smiled hearing Sams words "We both really appreciate that Sam and you can tell Ty that I am giving his dad the biggest and tightest hug ever from him."
Maggie and Sam spoke for another minute or two before hanging up. She sat Jubals phone on the coffee table before wrapping both her arms tight around him squeezing him a little tighter.
"That's the tightest hug I can give you babe from Ty."
Jubal hugged Maggie back just as tight before moving his head back to her shoulder so that he could see her.
"Thank you for talking to Sam and explaining it all to her, I just couldn't do it right now."
Maggie gently wiped the tears from Jubals cheeks as she leaned in kissing his forehead "I didn't mind doing it babe, it made me feel like I was actually doing something to help you." Maggie kept her eyes on Jubal as she took a deep breath "I hate having to ask you this, but do you have any alcohol at home here with you?."
Jubal knew it was hard for Maggie to ask him that question but he also completely understood why she was asking him. He again was really nervous about what her reaction would be as he knew he had to be completely honest with her.
"I do… there are still a few of the small bottles in my jacket pocket."
"Thank you for being honest babe." Maggie whispered as she leaned in kissing him softly.
She stood up and held her hand out to Jubal to help him up "Come on, I need you to get those for me so that we can get rid of them before you go to your meeting."
Jubal was nervous and a little worried when Maggie stood up as he had no idea what she was doing or what her plan was. He knew Maggie had said she wasn't walking away but he had it in his head that at any moment this could get too much for her while he tried to recommit to his sobriety.
He took Maggie's hand and stood up, he squeezed her hand gently before letting go so that he could walk over to where his coat was hanging and he took the three small bottles of vodka out of the pocket and came back over to Maggie.
"I promise that these are the only three bottles that I have and we don't have any other alcohol in the house."
Maggie nodded hearing Jubal and she reached out taking his free hand, she could tell that he was being honest with her about these being all he had.
"You can pour these down the sink rather than just throwing them in the bin. Come on."
Jubal followed Maggie over to their kitchen sink and he set the three bottles down, lifting the first one. He took a deep breath as he felt Maggie's arms wrap around him from behind as she kissed his neck. He poured the first bottle down the sink letting out the breath he was holding as he lifted the other two doing the same. Maggie squeezed him gently in her arms placing small kisses to his neck,
"I'm so proud of you Jubal Valentine."
Jubal closed his eyes hearing Maggie whispering in his ear, he turned around in her arms and hugged her tight.
"Thank you so much for standing with me while I did that baby and for just being here."
Maggie ran her hands along Jubals back holding him so close to her "I'll be right here to help you in any way that you need babe."
Jubal pulled his head back and he looked at the clock on the wall "I really need to order an Uber and get going baby so that I make my meeting in time." He knew that he shouldn't and couldn't drive with the amount of alcohol in his system.
Maggie kept running her hands slowly along Jubals back as she kept her focus on him "If you want babe I can drive you to the meeting and wait outside for you."
"Mags I can't ask you to do that you've already done so much and you should be resting after today." He lifted his hand running his fingers through her hair close to where she got hit.
"You're not asking I'm offering Jubal, but only if you are comfortable with it. If this is something you need to do on your own then I understand."
Jubal shook his head gently hearing Maggie "I need to do the meeting alone obviously, but before and after I would love to have you by my side baby, so if you are sure you really don't mind then I'd love for you to come."
Maggie smiled softly hearing Jubal, she did love that he was trying his best to let her in and let her be there for him rather than shutting her out.
"Do I have time to quickly change before we go or do we need to go right now?"
"No you have time baby, we can head when you get changed, the meeting isn't too far away I just know getting an Uber at this time of night can be difficult."
"I'll be really quick babe I promise." She kissed Jubal quickly and ran up stairs to get changed into her jeans and Jubals hoodie and was back downstairs within a couple of minutes.
Jubal was standing leaning against the couch waiting for Maggie, he couldn't help the smile that appeared when he saw Maggie was in his hoodie. They travelled in the car in a comfortable silence, Maggie had reached across taking Jubals hand in hers. The silence was only broke when Jubal had to give her directions. He couldn't get out of his own head right now, he knew that he was beyond lucky with the fact that Maggie hadn't just kicked him out and turned her back on him when he slipped.
When they pulled up outside the meeting Maggie turned to face Jubal and she squeezed his hand gently "I'll be right here waiting babe, take all the time you need."
Jubal leaned over and kissed Maggie softly "Thank you again baby, for everything."
Jubal finally got out of the car and headed into the meeting, he knew that he had to speak at the meeting and be completely honest if he wanted to really recommit to his sobriety. When he got out of the meeting he was exhausted after being so honest, he was so thankful that Maggie had understood why he was so quiet on their way home.
She didn't want to push Jubal to talk as she knew that he would have spoken a lot in his meeting and she could see that he was exhausted. Maggie locked up when they got inside and she turned looking at Jubal,
"Babe, do you wanna just head up to bed?."
"You don't mind? You can stay down here for a while if you want baby but I do think it's going to be a shower and bed for me."
"I honestly don't mind, I feel exhausted after our case so I'm good with heading straight to bed. Why don't you head on up and get showered and I'll follow you up."
Jubal walked towards Maggie and kissed her softly before heading up their stairs to shower and crawl into bed. He honestly couldn't remember the last time that he felt this exhausted. He took a quick shower and cleaned up their ensuite before climbing into bed.
Maggie had to sort out a few things downstairs and she wanted to give Jubal some space to have his shower and some time to himself before she joined him. She walked quietly into their room and couldn't help the smile that appeared when she saw Jubal curled up in their bed with his eyes closed.
Maggie went into their ensuite and quietly got ready for bed as she wasn't sure if Jubal was asleep or was just resting his eyes. She climbed into their bed and moved right behind Jubal who was lying on his side with his back to her. She wrapped her arm around his waist and kissed his shoulder.
Jubal took Maggie's hand and intertwined their fingers snuggling them to his chest as he squeezed her hand gently. Maggie kissed his cheek before getting more comfortable.
"Sorry babe, I didn't mean to waken you."
"You didn't baby, I was just resting waiting on you to join." Jubal was playing with Maggie's fingers as he spoke.
"You want to stay this way to fall asleep?."
They had usually fallen asleep with Maggie snuggled into Jubals side with him holding her, but tonight Maggie could sense that Jubal was relaxing at the feeling of her holding him and she didn't mind that at all.
Jubal was quiet for a moment when he heard Maggie's question, he trusted her more than he had ever trusted anyone in his whole life and he knew that there would never be any judgement from Maggie.
"Do you mind if we switch places tonight baby?"
He had asked so quietly that Maggie just about heard him, she knew this wasn't easy for him to ask and she loved him even more for having the courage to ask her.
Maggie rolled on to her back and leaned over kissing Jubals back before getting comfortable,
"Come here babe…"
Jubal let out the breath he had been holding when he heard Maggie, he had honestly never had anyone be so patient and loving with him. He turned around and faced Maggie and instantly moved closer to her snuggling his face into her neck and wrapped his arm around her waist.
"Thank you for this baby." He whispered as he placed a few kisses to her neck.
Maggie wrapped her arm around Jubal and ran her fingers through his hair kissing his head while the fingertips of her other hand ran along Jubals arm that was wrapped around her waist.
"You never have to thank me babe, trust me I want to hold you just as much as you want to be held right now."
Jubal pulled the covers up around them and snuggled in even tighter to Maggie,
"I love you so much Maggie Bell, and I really do mean that."
Maggie squeezed Jubal gently in her arms kissing his head again,
"I love you too Jubal, I promise the only way that has changed is that I love you even more for the strength that you have shown tonight with being so brave with your honestly."
Maggie ran her fingertips along Jubals back slowly, holding him as tight as she could as she could hear his breath catch when he heard her words.
"Close your eyes and get some sleep babe, I'll be right here the whole time, I promise."
Jubal whispered once more how much he loved Maggie before he fell asleep. He really was exhausted and he felt so safe in Maggie's arms.
It had taken Maggie a while to fall asleep last night as she had gone over everything the last couple of days in her head. She had been honest with Jubal, as heartbroken as she was for him that he temporarily lost his sobriety she really was so proud of how honest he was with her about everything, she knew that wasn't easy for him.
They had gotten ready and travelled to work in a comfortable silence, Maggie knew that Jubal was gathering himself so that he could face work as she knew that he felt a little nervous about it all. She had taken his hand in hers while he drove them to work to remind him that she was right there with him no matter what.
Maggie was sitting with OA, Tiffany and Stuart, they were at their desks doing their paperwork from the last case while chatting when Kelly appeared at their desks looking a little unsure of himself.
"Hey Kelly is everything okay?." OA was the first to speak as they all could see how unsure of himself Kelly seemed right now and that was odd for him.
"Erm, I'm not sure. We need Jubal to sign off on some things before we can continue our work but he is in the conference room and told us that we weren't to disturb him until he came out himself. There was only one person that he said he was okay with going in there to him."
The minute that Kelly mentioned Jubals name Maggie was sitting up straight and paying full attention to him. When she heard him say that Jubal had taken himself into the conference room she knew he was struggling with something. She looked at Kelly who had kept glancing at her while talking,
"You're here to ask me to go in and talk to him?."
OA raised an eyebrow looking at Maggie "Why? So that you two can continue having words from yesterday?".
OA, Tiff and Stuart were convinced after yesterday that the last person Jubal would want to see or talk to would be Maggie. The team looked at Kelly in time to see him nodding his head in answer to Maggie's question.
"Give me a few minutes with him and then you can ask him to sign off on whatever you guys need okay?"
Maggie wasn't really waiting for an answer and she hadn't answered OA either as she almost jumped up out of her chair walking quickly to the JOC to head into the conference room. She was worried about Jubal from listening to Kelly and seeing Jubal pacing around the conference room she had been right to worry.
Maggie opened the door walking into the conference room making sure to close the door behind her.
"Hey… What's going on? Kelly said you didn't want to be disturbed while in here unless it was me." The worry was clear in Maggie's voice as her eyes hadn't left Jubal who was still pacing.
Jubal had turned his head hearing Maggie enter the room but he hadn't stopped pacing, he was playing with something in his right hand while he lifted his left hand to the back of his neck rubbing it lightly.
"The team want to go out for drinks tonight, Kelly and Elise asked and said they had asked you guys as well. I can't say no because it's been so long from we have all been out together and it would be really good for everyone to have this time outside of work, but it's way too soon for me to be around alcohol. I can't say no and I can't be around drink, I don't know what to do Mags, I don't want to let anyone down."
Maggie's heart was breaking for Jubal as she watched him pacing, he was moving quicker the more he talked. She could see that he was really struggling and he proved that when he called her Mags at work. Right now the only thing she cared about was Jubal and helping him. She walked over to where he was pacing and stood in front of him so he couldn't get past her as she lay her hands on his biceps to still him,
"Babe, I need you to take a slow deep breath for me okay?." Maggie watched as Jubal almost froze when he felt her hands on his biceps and the fact that she called him babe at work. He totally focused on Maggie and the feel of her hands as he took a slow deep breath. Maggie smiled softly watching him as she ran her hands along his upper arms slowly,
"You are going to ware a hole into the carpet if you don't stop pacing." She joked playfully to try and help him relax "We can ask the team to go for a meal tonight instead of drinks and I'll be right by your side the whole time okay?."
Jubal could feel himself slowly relaxing as he leaned into Maggie's touch a little and just totally focused on her. She really could calm him down no matter what.
"We can't be ourselves though, the team still don't know about us."
Maggie stepped closer to Jubal and ran her hands along his arms up to cheeks, cupping his face gently,
"I'm pretty sure that the team are standing in the JOC right now watching us because they are convinced that you and I don't want to talk to each other after the way we were on the case yesterday. So, the team are going to know something is going on between us babe and I'll tell them that if they want answers that tonight it's a meal and no drinks."
Jubal chuckled softly as he lay his forehead gently against Maggie's as he wrapped his left arm around her waist. He opened his right hand to show her his new sobriety chip that he was given last night at his AA meeting,
"I can't lose my sobriety again and I can't lose our relationship or my relationship with the kids."
"You won't lose any of it babe, I'm right here and the kids aren't going anywhere we all love you. You are ready to work on your sobriety and we will take every step together."
OA, Tiffany and Stuart had wanted to see why Jubal didn't want to talk to anyone but Maggie so they had followed her into the JOC straight away. They were standing in a lot of shock with Elise, Kelly and Ian, Kelly was the first to break the silence.
"I guess we now know why Maggie was the only one he wanted to talk to."
"I have so many questions for them right now." OA spoke as he kept his eyes on Maggie and Jubal in the conference room.
"Well at least we now know why Maggie was struggling so much yesterday after her and Jubal had words." Tiffany spoke as she looked at the others standing with her.
Jubal slid his chip back into his pocket and now wrapped both his arms around Maggie's waist enjoying getting to hold her this close even if they were at work.
"How did you even know I was in here trying to pace a hole into the carpet?." He joked playfully to show Maggie that he really was totally relaxed right now, he loved that she was able to help him so much just by being here with him.
Maggie smiled hearing Jubal joke, she could hear, see and feel that he had totally relaxed and that made her so happy right now. "Kelly came to our desk to say they needed you to sign off on something before they can continue with whatever you had them working on."
"I'm sorry that me freaking out has made it obvious that we are dating baby." Jubal was worried that maybe Maggie had felt pressured into outing their relationship.
"Maybe you are just this friendly with all your agents." Maggie smirked playfully as she ran her hands along his back slowly "And don't apologise babe, we were getting ready to tell them and now I no longer have to hide how much I love our boss." Maggie smiled as she kissed Jubal softly, she knew he was worried he had forced her into outing their relationship but she really was happy that everyone would know the truth now.
Jubal was surprised when he felt Maggie kiss him but it only took him a second to respond as he kissed her back holding her even closer to him. He lay his forehead against Maggie's when they broke the kiss,
"I love you so much baby, thank you for coming in here and for just being you."
Maggie moved one of her hands to the back of Jubals neck, caressing his hairline with her thumb.
"I love you too babe and you don't have to thank me, I told you that you weren't alone in any of this and I meant that."
Jubal smiled hearing Maggie, he was quiet for a minute just enjoying getting to be like this with her, not caring who could see them, "So which one of us is going to look first to see how many of the team are watching us?" He smirked playfully.
"Hmm since you are the one facing them I think it should be you babe, or….we could both look at the same time so that we both get to enjoy their reaction?." Maggie chuckled softly as she kept caressing Jubals hairline with her thumb. She knew that the team would be shocked with how her and Jubal were acting but especially OA as she had told him that she wasn't the most affectionate person when in a relationship.
Jubal and Maggie had agreed that they would look out into the JOC at the same time and both couldn't help the laugh that escaped when the team tried to walk in different directions but ended up walking into each other instead. Maggie ran her hands along Jubals arms squeezing his hand gently before they both left the conference room making their way to the team in the JOC.
"So I'm guessing you have been standing here from I walked into the conference room?." Maggie looked at the team finishing up with OA as she had a feeling he was going to be the first to speak, and she was right.
"We just came to try and figure out why Jubal would only talk to you, we weren't expecting to witness what we just saw… by the way what actually did we just see?"
"You saw me trying to help Jubal through some things that are going on at home right now and about the teams plans for tonight." Maggie reached out her hand taking Jubals, intertwining their fingers, squeezing his hand gently as she could see him tense up again.
"If you guys don't want to join us tonight you know that we understand, well we kinda understand, we're still trying to get our heads around everything." Tiffany looked at both Jubal and Maggie as she spoke, they had all noticed that Maggie had taken Jubals hand, it was hard to miss.
"We do want to join you guys tonight, but we would prefer it was for a meal instead of drinks." Maggie looked at OA and joked playfully with her next words "And yes if you agree to food and no drinks you can ask all the questions that you want."
"Including why you lied to me about not being an affectionate person in relationships because I'm pretty sure we all just witnessed something totally different." OA smirked playfully, none of them were ready to ask about why no drinks, but they saw Jubal squeeze Maggie's hand a little so they were guessing this was what was best for him which meant it was easy for the team to agree to the meal and no drinks.
"Or you can totally forget what you saw in the conference room." Maggie joked playfully with OA thankful that they were able to have this playful banter.
"You really expect OA to forget that? I'm guessing that we are going to be hearing about it for the next two weeks solid at least if not longer." Stuart joked as he looked from OA to Maggie.
"I would love to say Scola is wrong but we know that he isn't." OA laughed softly "So we can all just head from here for the meal after work, unless you know you two love birds need some time alone."
"I think you already saw that they can have that time alone in the conference room." Ian wasn't sure that he had meant to actually say that out loud which had the others laughing as Ian looked at Jubal "Sorry about that boss."
"Oh I'm sure that you were just saying what a few of you were thinking Ian." Jubal shook his head smiling, he was starting to feel more like himself again. "And as your boss I do need to remind you all that you have work to finish before we can all get out of here."
"Yeah I'm not sure what part of work includes making out with one of your agents in front of the team, but don't worry we will do what you say and not what you do." OA smirked joking playfully as he headed back to his desk, they were all trying their best to joke and help Jubal relax as they could tell that something was clearly going on with him.
Maggie shook her head laughing as she watched the team heading back to their desk and she turned to face Jubal still holding his hand.
"You sure that you one hundred percent feel up to going out for food tonight babe?."
Jubal smiled as he squeezed Maggies hand gently "I'm more than sure baby we get to go out and enjoy some nice food with our friends and we get to be ourselves."
The team all met up in the JOC and headed out to the restaurant together, Jubal had walked beside Maggie sliding his hand into hers which of course was noticed by everyone. Maggie was more than okay with Jubal wanting and needing to be so close to her, they sat beside each other and weren't able to keep their hands off each other all night. The team were straight in with the questions as soon as they had ordered food, the team were laughing when OA and Stuart nearly spat out their drink when Maggie confirmed that her and Jubal were in fact living together when Tiffany asked. The team of course did some teasing but they got to see how happy Jubal and Maggie truly made each other and how much they loved each other now that they could be themselves one hundred percent. Before Maggie and Jubal called it a night the team told them how genuinely happy they were for them reminding them not to hurt each other or that person would have the whole team on their back.
