"Why of all things did it have to be Marvel? Why couldn't it be something without superheroes?" Said Teo tiredly as he floated through the dark alleyways of new York's lower east side with a book in his hands.
First, he died. Then he got thrown into a whole new world and it turns out that world had superheroes! What are the chances?
"And with all the multiverse stuff? I don't even know what could happen." Whined Teo grumpily. "At least I can't get DEADER than I already am!"
The ghost sighed dejectedly as he looked straight at the ground before a crack formed on his cheek.
The dead teen's eyes glowed green in a panic as he realized what this meant. He looked all around him for any living creature and found a cat.
He immediately opened the book lady death gave him and flipped through it until he reached the page about sustenance.
"Just scare the living, it'll work on its own? What kind of- okay! I just need to be visible." Said Teo before looking for the page about visibility. "Visibility requires focused willpower on the thought of being visible. That focus can be removed from the equation by turning it into an unconscious habit. So I just gotta will it."
Teo flew towards the cat and closed his eyes thinking as hard as possible about becoming visible.
Slowly but surely, Teo's ghostly form became visible. The cat saw this and jumped away in fear at this being that appeared seemingly out of nowhere.
The crack on Teo's cheek quickly healed as he unconsciously absorbed the cat's fear and panic.
Teo sighed in relief upon seeing his injury gone noticing that he became invisible once again causing him to panic once more. "I can't believe I'm struggling this much when there are heroes and villains who could send me to quintuple H-E double hockey sticks with a love tap! I canNOT get close to anything that isn't a harmless animal until I'm really really ready."
It was time for Teo to build up a basic skill set for survival on some poor street animals.

A couple of weeks later.
"Willing invisibility, basic telekinesis, flight and ghostly intangibility. These were the ingredients chosen for basic survival. But, Teo accidentally added a fifth ingredient: chemical S. School!" Said Teo dramatically with a weak smile. "Man if any human being heard that, i would've been a chalk outline. I'm a ghost that doesn't need food nor clothes since I can materialize my own so I don't need a job. So why go to school? The answer is simple, I could get a house or a hobby or any other relatively human activity that can distract me from the fact that I'm literally dead and hey, I might have fun along the way, besides I can't have ghost be my full time job, that's nosnense- bleh nonense- NONSENSE...wow, mom was right. I do talk to myself way too much."
Teo shook his head to focus on his current task and turned to the school building in front of him.
It was time for his first day at school.
He entered the building and headed to the classroom he was supposed to be going to.
"Oh, you're here!" Said what looked to be a gym teacher. "I'll introduce you to the class."
"Are you the gym teacher? Shouldn't you not be here" Teo accidentally blurted out.
"Yeah, I'm acting as a substitute science teacher since our last one turned out to be a supervillain." Said the gym teacher to the GHOST.
Hearing this, Teo's eyes began glowing green as he thought about this bizarre situation.
"Uhh, you ok there? You're eyes are... glowing green." Said the teacher in confusion.
"What?" Asked Teo nervously before deducing that it's best to make an excuse despite not understanding what he heard. "Uh...It's a medical condition!" He exclaimed in a panic.
The teacher shrugged off the glowing eyes and lead Teo inside the classroom.
The teacher enthusiastically introduced Teo before prompting him to say something about himself which just felt awkward.
"My name is Teo Yavista. I like theatre and...stuff like that, y'know?" Said Teo nervously scratching the back of his neck only to be met with awkward silence. "Hehehe." He laughed nervously.
Even the teacher felt the awkwardness and told Teo to sit down to which the ghost responded by sitting next to a boy with a blue hoodie.
"Hey!" The blue hoodied boy whispered to Teo.
"Huh?"
"Name's Eduardo. Want me to show you around?" Asked Eduardo with a smile.
Teo smiled. "Sure. But should we really be talking right now?" He asked in a quiet tone.
"Don't worry. Coach Hrbek does not know anything about science." Whispered Eduardo cheerfully before he and Teo turned to see the teacher struggle to explain magnetic fields.
The two boys laughed quietly in union. Teo had made a friend.

Later after the period.
"-and this is the cafeteria where we obviously have lunch." Said Eduardo cheerfully.
"Cool." Said Teo with a smile.
"And over there is our resident super genius, Lunella Lafayette doing genius stuff or something." Said Eduardo cheerfully with a shrug.
Teo froze, recognizing who Lunella was. A comics superhero with a dinosaur on her side. Not someone he wanted to be close with at all.
Intense fear gripped his heard as he tried his best to not even be seen by the superhero. Luckily, the girl didn't even glance his way. And so, with a sigh of relief, Teo sat down to have lunch with Eduardo.
It was great to act alive again, especially with ghosts somehow having taste buds. That didn't help with all the undigested cafeteria food that he'll have to get rid of later though.
"Hey, T, have you heard about that ghost rumor going around?" Asked Eduardo excitedly.
Teo spat out his first meal in weeks upon hearing those words.
"Uhh, ghost? Ghosts don't exist, silly. Probably someone mistook it for something else." Said Teo nervously as he covered his glowing green eyes.
Eduardo took this as a no and pulled out a flashlight from nowhere. "Then, unfaithful one, let me tell you the story of...the Night Wisp."
At least the name was cool.
"Night Wisp wanders the night only seen by cats and rats shining a green light... that's all we really know about it." Said Eduardo cheerfully to the Night Wisp.
Teo chuckled. "You shouldn't have made it so anti climactic. How about this." He said with a confident smile as he took Eduardo's flashlight and aimed the light at his chin. "Unseen by human eyes, the Wisp wanders the night. Do they seek vengeance, on who and for what? Or could they be searching for something? Something lost, once theirs. What could it be that cursed them to wander so aimlessly? Perhaps...they're waiting... waiting for someone. Someone to break their curse."
The moment Teo focused back on reality, he saw that he racked up quite an audience.
"Dude! The was the best Night Wisp variation I've heard this week!" Said a student Teo didn't know.
Teo smiled at the compliment before he started to make some stories of his own. After all, this was his specialty.
Teo was happy as he made new friends all around. But little did our ghost friend know that in this world where even an ordinary teenager could be a superhero or a supervillain...
"-we're gonna find that ghost!" Exclaimed Lunella Lafayette also known as Moon Girl.
...there's no rest for the wicked.
