"Ready to go home, Livia?" Elliot asked as he picked up Ella in her car seat. "I'm more than ready, El" she said smiling at him from the wheelchair. "I wish I didn't have to be in this dumb thing." motioning to the wheelchair. "That's what everyone says Olivia" Carol said laughing as she came in to discharge them.
Carol wheeled Olivia down to the waiting SUV while Elliot carried the car seat. Ella started fussing in her car seat. "Shhhh, Ella we get to go home to today" he said as he gently swung the seat to calm her down. "I still can't believe you're actually here." Liv said as she watched Elliot with their baby. Elliot secured the car seat behind the drivers seat then walked around and helped Liv in the other side. She stole a kiss before she sat down on the seat. "What was that for?" he hummed against her lips. "Just because I can…. I've missed kissing you for 3 months. You better get used to it, Stabler." she said with a wink. "They were the longest 3 months of my life, El" she whispered as a tear slide down her cheek and El wiped it away with his thumb. "I'm not complaining…. I'm….just so sorry" he said looking at the ground. "It's not your fault, Elliot. You had no control over what happened." she said as she placed her hand on his cheek rubbing it gently. "It just feels like I've failed you…. and our kids." he said softly. "Oh El…." she whispered as she gave him another kiss. "I'm going to miss having you two here." Carol said as she handed Olivia her diaper bag. "What you two have is so special. I've never seen two people so in sync. I never believed in soulmates until I met you guys." she said as she turned to head back into the hospital. "Thank you for everything, Carol." Elliot and Olivia both called after her which made her turn back, wave and laugh "Point proven. Bye guys." called back as the automatic doors closed. "Ready to go home, El?" Liv asked as he pulled away from the curb. "I'm so ready." he replied smiling.
Bernie was watching the kids when the SUV pulled up. "Hey kids, guess who's here!" Looking up from the sink where she was washing dishes. The next thing she heard was 6 excited pairs of feet running to greet them. Elliot and Liv were just getting out of the SUV when the kids reached them. Lizzie, Kathleen and Noah went to hug Liv first while Maureen, Dickie and Eli went to Elliot first. Then they switched groups. Elliot grabbed Ella, Dickie grabbed the hospital bag and diaper bag and everyone made their way inside. Liv had her arm around Lizzie as they made walked towards the house. "You doing ok, sweetie?" Olivia asked as she gently rubbed her back. Lizzie looked up at her smiling "I slept through the night! Well until 4:47, then I went and snuggled with grandma for a while." "That's great Lizzie!" smiling back at her daughter. "I'm really happy you're home Mommy." she said. "Me too, sweet girl." Liv said with tears in her eyes.
