*A quick note: This part is the final part of Jaiden's origin story. I'll try to tie up loose ends here, and I'll set the stage for the tie-in of Sonic. I should say that there are TW: Death, Mentions of blood. If none of that bothers you, then scroll and read away!

START OF PART 3

The galaxy

Jaiden and Shira's ship fly through Dimension 007, the original home for only one world inhabiting it, Xevir. Shira's ship was leading the way, with Jaiden's ship following close behind it. As Jaiden was sitting in the one seat in his ship, his head starts to hurt with thoughts. 'I- I lost… everything. I… didn't even get a chance to save them all. My home, my kingdom, completely gone, like a speck in the dust.' He puts his head down on the front board of the ship, emotionless. Shira, in her ship, was only sitting with a blank stare. She just couldn't shake this feeling of sheer guilt and disgust. She thought about Ronin and shed a tear at the thought that he was no longer with the hedgehogs. She then thought about Jacie, and the feeling of guilt swept her once again; she tried to befriend this- this monster. At this thought she was about to break down when she was finally hit with a thought; she needed to check on her brother, Jaiden. She uses the command board in her ship to communicate on a voice channel with her brother's ship. She then presses and holds a button down and speaks.

-Bzzzzzzzz- "Jaiden? Everything alright?" the radio voice of Shira asks. Jaiden looks at the board where his sister's voice came from. He barely wanted to talk as it was, but he presses down on his comms button and forces a reply.

"Y- yeah," Jaiden mutters. He hesitates for a couple of seconds, then finally shares the truth, "Actually, no sis, I'm not. O- our whole world… gone," Jaiden looked down while he was sitting down, tears hitting the floor of the airship, "Everything we ever knew, everything Shira." Hearing her brother's cries only put Shira deeper into that guilt she was feeling.

"You know I'd hug you right now if I could, lil bro," says the sister hedgehog over the ship's comms. "The biggest thing we can do right now is stick together now. We only have each other, we know now that anyone outside of us two can't be trusted." Shira looks at her chaos emerald, it shines from the light Dimension 004 gives through the airship window. "I don't know when you'll get your powers, but I know for certain…." Shira, with her chaos emerald, summons energy Kali Sticks. It is completely pink with energy flowing from above it, "I'll do what I can to keep you safe, no matter what."

In response to hearing his sister say this, he felt useless; he shouldn't need his sister protecting him so much at this point.

"Shira, you don't always need to protect me," Jaiden says over the ship comms, slightly hostile.

"Um, yes you do Jaiden," his sister replies with a defiant tone, "You can't possibly think you can defend yourself with hand-to-hand combat for all your days"

"I'll get far enough!" Jaiden starts to get angry with his sister, "I thought you told me that I don't need my powers to make it!"

"Jaiden, first of all, calm down; we don't know the threats the world we're about to travel to poses, and all i'm saying is tha-"

Jaiden cuts Shira off with a realization, "Is that I'm too weak to handle myself huh? And that I'm just supposed to stay behind you for the rest of my days."

Shira starts to speak more frustrated, "No, will you please listen? You don't have to stay behind me, I just want you to becau-"

She is cut off again by the angry light-grey hedgehog, "Because I just gotta listen to you all the time huh? Why are you always so condescending to protect me? Why won't you just let me-"

This time, the purple hedgehog cuts off Jaiden, "BECAUSE I DON'T WANT TO LOSE THE ONLY PERSON I HAVE LEFT OK!? I DON'T WANT TO LOSE THE ONLY BROTHER I HAVE LEFT AFTER OUR ENTIRE DARN PLANET WAS DESTROYED, KILLING EVERYONE WE EVER KNEW!" Jaiden is silenced immediately by his sister's shouts, letting go of the temper he once had as he heard his sister start to break down. "I- I just don't want to lose you, Jaiden…." She starts to softly cry before she moves to say her next statement, "I love you, lil bro."

Hearing this made the light-grey hedgehog realize what he was doing; he was arguing with perhaps one of the last people she could fully trust. His heart softened, and he finally broke down crying.

"I- I-, I love you too S-Shira, I'm so sorry big sis," Jaiden said choppily, his tears flooding his voice, wanting to give his sister a hug, but realized he cannot at this time. The two continued crying for some time, swearing their promises to each other to protect each other until one fell. To try and break the atmosphere, Jaiden cracks a joke, "Well, I'll do everything BUT repopulate with you," he snickers. Shira hearing this, instantly stops crying and starts to laugh with her brother.

"Ew Jaiden, that was out of pocket," she says laughing. The two then continue to make jokes with each other, laughing and snickering away, knowing that if they stopped, the depression would kick back in. The two finally made it to Dimension 001, approaching a world called 'Sega-topia.'

The two go to their windows, looking at their new home; it is a wasteland, with no trees or nature, just buildings, with these symbols of a man with a bushy mustache on them. The siblings were looking at their new home with great unease when suddenly, Jaiden hears something on the roof of his ship; it is footsteps. The two ships enter the world's atmosphere finally, and while they are looking for a landing, the roof of Jaiden's ship is breached with dual-kodachi swords, Ronin's to be exact. Jaiden jumps and backs up to look at the breaching location. The breacher made a giant hole, then jumped through it, landing in the ship. Jaiden jumps up.

It doesn't take Jaiden to realize who this is; it's Jacie; he's back to finish what he started.

"J- Jacie? I thought you died when you destroyed the world," Jaiden says shaking, fearing for his life. Jacie only laughs at this question the hedgehog asked.

"That's where your wrong, mi hermano," the feline said, still laughing, "Xenicians have special abilities at birth too. Mine is being able to breathe in the galaxy, for a limited time of course. Luckily, your ships were still close by, so I was able to catch you idiotas before you completely escaped." The feline stands there in front of the male hedgehog, the ship still trying to land and tension fills the air. Jaiden notices Jacie ready up Ronin's swords in his hands; 'He is gonna pounce…' Jaiden thinks to himself, as he stands there shakily, fists up, ready for anything.

Seconds go by, and the feline finally pounces at Jaiden, causing the ship to shake from the movements. Jaiden fighting for his life tries to throw three punches at Jacie; he dodges them each and counters with a punch square to the forehead, knocking the Hedgehog down with a grunt. The feline then tries to stab our hedgehog with one of Ronin's swords, fortunately, he evades them by rolling over from side to side as Jacie goes for strikes, leaving behind marks through the ship. After this goes on for two minutes, Jaiden gives Jacie a double kick to the gut, knocking him back on the control panel, causing the ship's navigation to malfunction, and sending it straight flying down to the ground with the two. The ship's speed starts to pick up as it finally hits the ground with a massive thud; sliding on the ground from the momentum of the crash.

Moments pass and the damaged ship finally stops sliding. For a couple of minutes, nothing happens until the ship door was punched open… by Jacie. He climbs out slowly looking very injured, holding one sword in one hand and Jaiden's arm in the other; the hedgehog was knocked out by the impact of the ship. Jacie walks out the ship's doorway, panting with his mouth open, and he stands in a dry waste area, looking like a desert. He holds up a knocked-out Jaiden to his head, and he holds up Ronin's sword. Jaiden, finally recovering from his sleep, wakes up to the sight of Jacie, injured and panting, and a sword, which he knows he holds to harm him.

"End of our game…-" the injured feline coughs, "Little hermano…" Jaiden tried to squirm and fight Jacie's grip, but he was weakened from the ship crash, unable to even move. As Jacie was about to swing, he is stopped in his tracks as the two hear a faint wooshing noise coming to their right. They both look, and they see a distant ship; before Jacie could say or do anything, he is knocked away by two sticks with pink energy emitting from them. At the holding end of these said sticks was a purple hedgehog, gritting her teeth with an angry look on her face. Jaiden didn't take long to recognize this hedgehog, it was Shira; she came to his rescue. Jacie finally impacts with the ground, bouncing and rolling away, and when he stops rolling, he is out cold. Shira looks at him, then faces Jaiden, Kali Sticks still in hand.

"Are you okay?" Shira asks her injured brother.

"Y- yeah," Jaiden responds, "Shira… that fool breached my ship while we were in the galaxy, he-"

"Can breathe in the galaxy? Yeah. I remember our parents talking about that." Shira tries to help Jaiden up, "Here, that crash weakened you. Let's get you up and sa-"

Shira is cut off by a scream, Jacie's scream, "ERIZOOOOOOOOOOOOOS!" The two look over to Jacie's landing spot, he gets up very slowly, but he picks up that one sword, and the two hedgehogs can see in his eyes that he was going berserk. His injuries no longer bothering him, and his mind focused on one goal, kill these hedgehogs, no matter what. They watch as he goes on all fours, getting ready to pounce and strike. Shira pulls back from Jaiden, knowing that this area is no longer safe for him. Hastily, she commands her brother.

"Jaiden, run! Run, get out of this area!" Shira shouts. Right after, Jacie pounces and tackles her across the ground away from Jaiden. Listening to his brother picks himself up and runs as fast as he can away from the feline and her sister through some trees. While he was running, he could hear whispers in his head, there were so many… many, many whispers going through the hedgehog's head as he was running. Jaiden was holding his head not knowing what was going on, he had all of these thoughts going through his head, and he has no idea what was going on or what was causing them. The whispers got so bad that Jaiden stopped in his tracks and curled up holding his head. All the while, he didn't notice that his chaos emerald was glowing because he was swaying side to side, trying to silence the whispers. Just when he thinks he was about to go insane, he hears one final whisper…

'You must be the hero.'

Moments go by, and Jaiden is finally recovering his mental state from hearing those whispers. He checks himself out; nothing out of the ordinary. He looks around; he is in a forest area. At the same moment, he realizes this; he has a moment of realization, his ears perk up, and his pupils shrink.

"SHIRA!" He cries out, starting to run back to the same area he last saw her. He runs and runs, tears coming out of his eyes, hoping for the best. He finally arrives at the crashed ship and starts to look around the area, trying to find any trace of his sister. After minutes of looking, he looked some distance beyond the ship; it was Shira, lying motionless on the ground. Jaiden seeing this was overcome by only one emotion, devastation. He runs over to Shira immediately, tears coming out of his eyes, repeating the same word, "No…" He finally reaches Shira, her eyes closed and her body… still motionless. He sits down and picks up her upper torso, still crying his eyes out, repeating that same word. He closes his eyes and hugs his sister close to him, closing his eyes and crying like a baby.

"I'm so sorry Shira, I'm so sorry for leaving you- Please come back, please, please," Jaiden shouts choppily at his sister's body, hoping for a response. Shira's eyes open lightly, and she looks at her distraught brother. She sheds a tear at him, and she tries to say a word; instead, she uses the last ounce of her strength to hug her brother. Seconds go by, and eventually, she disappears in Jaiden's arms, leaving behind her crown-pendant necklace. Jaiden can't even say a word, he just sits there with a distraught look for a couple of seconds, then he just breaks down, crying and wailing away; he just lost his sister, his only family remaining, the only person left he loved. He sits there for a good 15 seconds, crying away, and then eventually, he stops, wiping away his tears, knowing that Jacie was still out there. He grabs her necklace and puts it around his neck. He then puts a fist on his chest, a tear rolling down his cheek again. 'I will make you proud' He says to himself.

After some time of him closing his eyes, remembering the past memories he had with his sister, he turns around, tears still in his eyes. He sees Jacie sitting to himself near some rocks, panting heavily, tears streaming down his face. Jaiden runs over near Jacie's location, eager to spill blood for killing his sister. He stands there a couple of feet away from the cat.

"Jacie!" Jaiden shouts at the sitting cat. Jacie turns his head at the angry hedgehog with a look of anger in his eyes. He stands up and turns to face the greyed hedgehog, the same sword he used to kill Shira.

"Allow us to finish this, Jaiden." he says faintly. At this, he pounces at the hedgehog with a sudden whim. Jaiden is knocked off of his feet, and he is forced to close his eyes. He opens them up, shocked to see Jacie on top of him, but nothing will prepare him for what he saw next. He looks over Jacie's back to find a blue energy sword had pierced his stomach. Jaiden didn't know where this came from until he felt it, the handle of this energy sword felt fizzy and raw, like he is just holding raw electricity, but it did not hurt. He finally gets Jacie from on top of him. The feline is panting and breathing heavily, the life leaving his system. Jaiden looks at his right hand because this is where he felt the sword. He saw the sword deteriorate in thin air, and then he saw his emerald's glow go dim. 'I… got… my powers…' The hedgehog said to himself, trying to contemplate his thoughts, but as he was, he hears Jacie grunt and pant next to him.

Jaiden jumps up quickly and walks over to the dying feline. He notices the feline give him a faint frown, coughs escaping his mouth. Jaiden bends down on one knee over the cat, giving him a frown of disappointment.

Jacie coughs, "Of course… your powers…-" he coughs again, "Would come… now," he coughs another time. Still laying, he looks over at Jaidens hand and notices the light finally go away from the chaos emerald. "Jaiden, this- wasn't on a- personal level…" Jaiden cuts him off.

"Bularky!" Jaiden shouts. "Shira was right from the start, you never loved us as your siblings, and you never appreciated our parents! You should have been killed a long time ago… gato."

"Sh- Shira…" the feline thought, "At- the inauguration ceremony she, she talked to me like… an actual individual, she even called me…." Jacie sheds a tear, "You and her brother…." He starts to grunt in pain as he feels the stab wound getting worse, "Jaiden, mi hermano, I- didn't want it to be this way… after-" He coughs again, "Shira… our sister… said that to- to me…."

"She's not your sister, and your not my brother, you snake!" shouted Jaiden.

"Perhaps," said Jacie faintly, "But what she said to me, after years of not trusting me at all, made my heart feel like it wanted to change…." Jaiden gives a surprised face. "Jaiden, take this advice hermano…," He prompts Jaiden to come closer in, "You will meet people that's hearts are made for business. They will have no room to follow their hearts or emotions because they have to do one thing and one thing only, for their jefes…." He coughs again, breathing slower and slower, "I did what… I did because… the Xenicians needed me… my dad… needed me." Jaiden hearing this had many questions but knew that he wouldn't have enough time to ask. "I'm- sorry… little brother…" Jacie tears up, "I had too…" Jacie draws his last breath, then he dies. Jaiden, knowing he should feel nothing for this feline, started thinking about why he gave his last words, and Shira couldn't, but his words, whether the hedgehog could accept them or not, were very powerful. He got up from his knee and looked at his adopted brother's body, looking at it with a blank stare. He then turns behind him and walks away from Jacie, leaving his body behind.

Our hedgehog walks some distance before remembering what Shira had given him, that weird flash drive. He takes it out and looks at it, 'So, it doesn't give me my powers, those faint whispers did… I think? So, what does this thing do?' After thinking about this, he approaches a fence to a closed-off civilization. It had houses, buildings… people. Suddenly, Jaiden saw a group of people running over toward the fence for their lives. He quickly put away his flash drive when the group approached him. One of the citizens, a dog, shouted at Jaiden.

"Run! Eggman is attacking again!" he says, running off with the rest of the group he was with. 'Eggman? Who is Eggman?' Jaiden thinks as he is about to approach the fence and enter the civilization. Before he can, he hears something running in the distance, and as he tries to turn to see what it is, a blue blur quickly goes by him into the civilization. Jaiden tries to look down the fence to see what that was, and he sees a hedgehog with blue quills, red shoes, and white gloves.
