Chapter III
The Girl's Destiny
Kiba, Hinata, Temari, Tenten, and Sakura, were closing in what was called The Monster's Lair. In truth they didn't know what they were expecting when they came upon an old town. That looked to be wrecked. "So this is it huh?" Kiba said while stealing a glance at Hinata. "I hope they don't live down right next to the damn Kyuubi." Sakura said. "I'll check it out, Byakugan!" Hinata scanned the area around and saw four life forms in the town. Three looked to be in the only house that wasn't damaged and the fourth was definitely something else. It had evil aurora around and Hinata could see the chakra was a pure red one. Hinata was scared out of his mind when she saw it. "I-I see three people in that house over there, and something else." 'Now I see that this was a fool's mission to kill something that powerful. Tsunade-sama didn't take that into consideration.' "What is it?" Tenten asked. "The fourth life form is the Kyuubi. No mistaking it. It's too powerful for us too." "Hinata, you're looking at an alpha male Inuzuka and I'm looking at a alpha female. There's nothing we can't take down." Kiba said. "Not something with four tails and glowing red chakra." "Glowing red chakra? Oh boy, this thing's too powerful for all of us." Sakura said knowing all too well what this meant. "What does glowing red chakra have to do with anything?" Kiba asked clearly frustrated. "Glowing red chakra means you can't harm it period. It also means that if you try to trap it, it can easily escape." Sakura pointed out.
Kiba rolled his eyes, "let's just get this done and over with. We can take it down easily." The rest of the group all shook their heads. Kiba wasn't exactly the smartest person in the world. "Let's try to get to those three guys that Jiraiya said were immortal, maybe they know something." Tenten offered. The girls all agreed and they dashed towards the location Hinata had seen them at. Kiba hurried to follow them not wanting to be outdone by a bunch of girls.
Hinata led the way with her Byakugan. Eventually they reached a decent home that was undamaged. It had a nice little garden with fruits and vegetables growing in it. Infront of the garden was a low wall. In the garden was a man that looked to be their age. He had raven hair and was in the middle of harvesting some grapes. "So you five finally show up. We saw you on the outskirts not too long ago." The Konoha ninja stepped back in surprise. A roar was heard nearby. "You better come inside the yard, otherwise he'll attack you." The group did what they were told. Now in the yard that surrounded the house, the Konoha ninja looked at the man who apparently was harvesting. "Excuse me sir, we were looking for some people said to be immortal, do you know where they are?" Tenten, asked. The raven haired man turned to look at them. Sakura felt a blush dust her cheeks. This guy was handsome, very handsome. "I am one of them. My name's Sasuke Uchiha." At the mere mention of the name, the Konoha ninja froze in disbelief. This guy was Sasuke Uchiha? The legendary Sasuke Uchiha, one of Naruto Uzumaki's best friends? They all have heard of him. For Hinata though it made her mind race. 'If Sasuke Uchiha is immortal, then maybe Naruto Uzumaki is too.'
"let's get you five inside. The last thing is him to see you and try to attack." Sasuke led the way to the door and motioned for them to enter. The five did so. "Hey Shikamaru, I hope you don't half-ass the food tonight. We got some company." "Oh for the love of humanity, don't you ever stop complaining about my food?" "To be honest, you do half-ass your food." The voice, who was Shikamaru, simply groaned and said "this is such a drag." The next noise heard was a WHAM! And Shikamaru went sailing back hitting the wall in the process. The Konoha ninja turned to see a brown haired young man with the Byakugan, standing there shaking his head at disproval. Hinata stared at the man. He was clearly a Hyūga, just like herself. "Sasuke, don't you ever stop hitting Shikamaru into the wall? That was the 5,459th time you did that." "Well Neji, you know how he cooks." Sasuke shot back. The Konoha ninja were now really surprised. The legends surrounding Shikamaru, Sasuke, and Neji were many. But most of them thought they were just legends. Neji turned to the Konoha ninja standing there in disbelief. "You're probably thinking about why we are here and why we are alive. The answer is simple, this is the old Konoha and we have to stay here for the sake of a friend." The Konoha ninja stared disbelievingly at the three men.
"Shikamaru, I see her, she's in the group." Shikamaru and Sasuke looked at Neji. "Her? What's going on?" Kiba asked. Shikamaru looked at the group and finally walked over to where a canvas was on the wall. He pulled the canvas away to reveal a picture. The picture held four people in it. Three of them were in the room where they stood but the fourth person was different. At seeing the fourth person, Hinata blushed. She found that fourth guy to be handsome and strong. Shikamaru caught the look on her face. "That's him, that's Naruto." The Konoha ninja received their sixth shock of the day. Naruto Uzumaki was real after all? They heard of that he was the Fourth Hokage's son, but they assumed he was a legend. Many people in the new Konoha believed the old heroes were legends because no one would get concrete proof on their existences. But apparently they were or are real in this case. What does he have to do with the Kyuubi. Shikamaru held a tear in his eye, all three of the immortals did. "Let me start the story off on the right foot shall we?" The group nodded, except for Kiba. He just wanted to go and kill the Kyuubi and marry Hinata. "Naruto was the son of the Fourth Hokage, Minato Namikaze. He carried his mother's last name upon her death at childbirth to honor the Uzumaki clan. He was made a jinchuriki by his own father to protect the village from the dreaded Kyuubi. The only way to save the village was to place it inside his newborn son. That was one of the hardest things he ever did. When Naruto was a week old, a sage told his father, that his son would be the one to bring the world peace and fight for it once he became Hokage. Everyone in the village loved the news of peace being brought once he became Hokage, but war must come first. We were his friends throughout all of his life. He was so brave and loyal, that it was hard to believe what happened to him." "W-what happened to him?" Hinata asked drawn to this story like a metal to a magnet. "A woman named Fuka. She was a bad woman and she knew of the prophecy surrounding him. She managed to win his love and when he least expected it. She corrupted his chakra. Turning him into the monster sealed up inside him. When we arrived on the scene it was too late, Naruto was corrupted beyond help from us. Fuka tried to flee but Naruto killed her on the spot she stood. Minato made a jutsu that would transfer the chakra needed to bring him back to humanity. We couldn't tell who would have it or if the person was even alive yet. So we made sure that me, Sasuke, and Neji would be immortal and made sure his son would be too. He forced everyone to leave the village except for us to help Naruto out." "I remember that day, Naruto roared out so loud that most of the buildings crumbled." Neji added in. "That's where one of you comes in, one of you has the chakra needed to bring him back to humanity." Sasuke added. The group looked around them. They knew that they were sent to kill it, but one of them could apparently change it? Neji pointed to Hinata. "What's your name?" "Hinata Hyūga , eldest daughter of Hiashi Hyūga." Neji studied her a bit. His eyes narrowed then widened. "Hinata, what I'm about to tell you is going to be for you to complete. The chakra is in you." Hinata and the rest of the group stared at Neji. "She's marrying me once we get back. So she can't have the chakra." Kiba said while grabbing her arm in a way that made Hinata feel uncomfortable. She feared a fist back and slugged Kiba out cold. "Classic Uzumaki habit. Their women always hit people that make them feel uncomfortable." Sasuke smirked. Hinata blushed. "So she's the one that's supposed to go out there and change that thing to a human?" Temari asked. Neji nodded his head. "But we were sent to kill it." Tenten added. "You can't kill something that is immortal. But you can change him. Only Hinata is destined to do such a feat." "C-Can I think about this for a while?" Hinata asked while trying to figure out what to think. Neji nodded his head, just don't leave the yard or the house, Naruto will attack you otherwise." Hinata nodded and she left the room.
