Chapter 1: Legacy Day: A Dragon's First Day.
Time for Legacy Day where Ever After High begins, this will be how it will be for Draco mainly since it is his first day around so many people.
Draco and Raven are walking to Ever After High but before they do Draco folds his wings and puts his jacket back on. Then they run into Raven best friend ever after Maddie the daughter of the Mad Hatter.
"Nice to meet you. I'm Maddie, how do you know Raven?
They realize they need an excuse on how Raven knows him, so she says: "He's my cousin."
"Really? The Evil Queen has a nephew?" Maddie asked.
"Yeah that's me. That's how me and Raven know each other. Anyway, she convinced my father to let me go to school. So Raven what is Ever After High like?"
"Well they want us to follow in the footsteps of out parents. I'm just sick of everyone thinking I'm so evil because my mom was."
Maddie puts her hand on Ravens shoulder and says: "No one thinks your evil. Now you're just talking crazy."
"I don't think the daughter of the Mad Hatter has the right to call anyone crazy." Says Draco.
"Would you all stop with the worry flurry? Everyone at school loves you." As they enter the school a pig appears and screams: IT'S RAVEN QUEEN! RUN!" after that a few other kids started screaming and running in fear from her.
"Whoa you were wrong Maddie, they definitely hate you Raven. Sorry but hey we don't think your evil."
"Thanks guys." Raven then hugs her while Maddie then has tea.
When they arrive to headmaster Grimm's office Raven uses the lie that they are cousins and that Draco's dad home schooled him but decided to let him go to school while Draco does not have a destiny there is no rule that says he can't be a student.
In the Castleteria Raven and Draco are eating alone as everyone is afraid to sit near Raven. Until Dexter Charming comes up to Raven. "Hey Raven, uh… you look gort. I mean great. I – I don't even know what gort is."
"We'd offer you a seat, but I'm 'evil'. To sit here you'd have to be pretty…" as Raven is about to finish her sentence a flash of white appears revealing Daring Charming and Apple White walking into the room "… daring."
Draco rolls his eyes and ask: "Who's handsome and blondie?"
"My brother Daring and the next Snow White Apple White." Explained Dexter "I'm Dexter."
"Draco."
"Raven, how's every enchanted thing?" asked Apple
"Apple White, good to see you. Hey Daring."
"I, uh, have to warn you. Don't stare at the teeth. Just got them whitened." Daring smiles creating a flash of light burning the three little pigs.
"Hi, I'm Raven's cousin Draco." Hearing this caused the two royals to gasp hearing that the Evil Queen has a nephew.
"Raven you never mentioned a cousin." Said Apple. "I didn't even know the Evil Queen had any family besides you."
"Wait? Didn't Evil Queen marry Snow White's father so wouldn't that make Raven your aunt?" asked Draco.
"That is just weird to think about." Said the 2 girls at the same time.
The bell rings and Apple says: "Oh, oh, there's the bell. Time for good kingdom management. Raven, what's your next class?"
"Uh, the history of Evil Spells."
"That is so perfect for you."
Draco whispers to Raven: "Is it wrong that I want to punch her in the face."
"Yes, are you trying to get hexpelled on your first day."
They all head off to their classes and later in the day Draco is walking around the school trying to find his dorm as he is lost. He notices a girl falling and immediately catches her. The girl is Briar Beauty the daughter of Sleeping Beauty.
"You're the new kid. Draco right?"
"Um yeah that's me." He says blushing as he is holding her bridal style and looks at how pretty she is. "Don't suppose you could help me find my dorm." He says putting her down, as she gets up she looks at his room number.
"Sure, but first I'm going again!" Briar runs back up so she can jump off and Draco can catch her. After one more go, she leads him to his dorm.
"Thanks, hey maybe we'll see each other around."
"Well if you keep promising to catch me when I jump off of something maybe I will."
Draco heads in the dorm and hears what sounds like loud music playing. He walks in and meets his roommate: Sparrow Hood, the son of Robin Hood.
Sparrow is playing on his guitar as loud as possible, when he notices Draco.
"You're my new roommate?"
"Yeah, I'm Draco. I heard you on the guitar, nice to meet a guy who likes music."
"Really, almost everyone complains that I play it too loud."
"Sounds like my dad, he's always 'Draconis turn down that racket' I hated it, but I always wanted to be a drummer."
"Well, I do have some drumsticks you could use." Sparrow hands Draco a pair of drumsticks and the two boys begin to rock out.
Later that night Sparrow is snoring loudly, so Draco decides to take off his jacket and open a window. He makes sure no one can see him and then flies up and starts flying around throughout Ever After High and Book End. Unfortunately, the hunters have located him.
"Master, why have located the dragon, he appears to be a student of Ever After High." Said a hunter using a handheld communicator to contact their leader the Master Hunter.
"Understood. We will attack the dragon on Legacy Day, there are many disgusting magical creatures at that school we can dispose of." Ordered the Master Hunter.
The next day is the Legacy Day rehearsals, Headmaster Grim is in the center with the students there being Raven, Hunter, Cedar, Daring, Briar and Apple.
"Why must you be here Mr. King?" asked the headmaster.
"I honestly just wanted a laugh, so I came to watch this, also I have a free period figured I'd use it."
"Fine just don't interrupt. Now when your magical key appears, you insert it gently into the story book of legends, then stand shoulders back and declare your destiny to the world."
Apple eagerly goes first and takes the key and says: "I am Apple White. And I pledge to follow my destiny as the next Snow White." Grim applauds Apples performance.
Next is Maddie: "I, Madeline Hatter, pledge to follow the destiny of dear old dad, the Mad Hatter of Wonderland. When do I drink the tea?"
'If Maddie is anything like her dad she's already half-way there.' Thought Draco.
Grim was annoyed and called on the next student.
"I'm Hunter Huntsman and I pledge to follow my destiny as the next huntsman. I'll swing my axe bravely and…" hunter was hit in the head by an acorn from his pet squirrel and hunter began chasing him which causes Draco to laugh.
"Oh man, Hunter can you get that squirrel to do that at Apple on Legacy Day." Which causes the royals and Grim to glare at Draco.
"I am Briar Beauty. And I pledge to follow in my mom's footsteps and sleep for a hundred years. But before I do, I'm gonna live every minute! Ooh, speaking of which, my dorm room Friday night, we're gonna blow the roof off the place." Grim interrupted asking for the next student to take their pledge.
Draco was thinking about Briar's destiny, to sleep for 100 years with no one all alone in a dark tower, while not entirely the same thing that makes him think about all the years growing up in a cave only sneaking out and not allowed to interact with anyone, it makes him hope that Briar doesn't actually have that fate befall her, he also thinks he'll like her since she clearly enjoys having fun.
"I'm - - I'm Cedar Wood and I pledge to follow my destiny and be the next Pinocchio. Well, I mean not the next Pinocchio. I mean, actually, I can only tell the truth while I'm in school, but then one day… one day, I'm gonna lie. Uh, but does that that mean that I'm gonna be like my dad or not like my dad?" as this would've probably continued on forever Grim called the next student.
"Hey, there. Charming, Daring Charming. I pledge to be just like my old man, King Charming. Brave, good-looking, kind, good-looking, thoughtful, and good-looking." Draco throws a tomato at Daring causing the Royals to laugh.
Finally there was Raven: "I'm Raven Queen. And I pledge to follow my destiny as… um, I have a question."
"What is it?" asked Grim.
"I was just wondering, I mean, what if I don't want to take the pledge?" when Raven asks this it causes everyone to gasp while Apple's mouth drops, and Daring pulls it back up but she then slaps him and says "She has to do it. I mean, if she never poisons me, then I'll never fall asleep. And I'll never be kissed by my Prince. And I'll never..." before she could finish Draco walks up and punches her in the face.
"Mr. King what gives you the right..."
"Just shut up! Especially you White! Your supposed to be the future fairest in the land that means you shouldn't try to be forcing people to be evil because that is not what Raven is. Come on Raven lets leave." Draco and Raven leave. Raven can't believe it, even Maddie doesn't stand up for her Draco really is different from everyone else and not just because he is a dragon.
The next day Draco is walking around school and many students are giving him dirty looks because he punched Apple. Raven, Maddie and Sparrow are walking with him, Raven is flying unsure of herself and signing the Storybook of Legends while Maddie is just walking cheerfully and Sparrow says: "That was awesome I wish I could have been seen it with my own eyes, its about time that the Royals got taken down a peg."
Everyone else starts booing at them but Draco just gives them a rude gesture and they walk off. Raven then ask them: "You guys have got to help me. I don't feel like I can sign the Storybook of Legends, but I don't want to let everyone down, either."
"And do not forget the whole, "If you don't sign, your story disappears. POOF! And you may vanish into oblivion." Says Maddie.
"That's gotta hurt." Said Sparrow.
"I bet Grim made that up to get everyone to behave and sign that dumb book. You know we could always just burn it and then no one has to sign it." Said Draco.
"I like the way you think, I say we should also do it to our textbooks as well." Said Sparrow.
"Wait a tick. I think I know who can help."
While the four of them are walking Apple notices Draco and hides behind some male students who have a crush on her and the six boys begin to gang up on the quartet.
"You girls see who you need to see I have something to take care of." Said Draco
"No we have something to take care of." Said Sparrow. The two girls run off while one of the boys runs up to Draco and Sparrow, Draco holds back knowing he is much stronger than all six of them he punches one in the gut and throws him into a locker.
When one is about to sneak attack Draco Sparrow slams his guitar on his head knocking him out and hits another boy in his nether regions with his guitar.
Draco slams the heads together of two more boys leaving the last one that Sparrow and Draco punch in the face together knocking him out.
"That was TOTALLY AWESOME! You and me are going to make an amazing team." Said Sparrow.
"Thanks." The two have a fist bump and Draco walks up to Apple. "Hey White! That is low sending goons to take me on. You're a coward I don't see why your so popular in this school." Draco and Sparrow leave and head back to their dorm.
It is Legacy Day, while everyone else is outside watching everyone announce their destiny to the world Draco was in his dorm deciding he's made enough of a scene this week.
It is now time for Raven to make the pledge. "I am Raven Queen, daughter of the Evil Queen…" but before Raven could finish or make her decision the hunters appear and begin attacking the students when one hunter ask "Where is the Dragon Kings son we know he is here."
"I don't know what your talking about there is no dragon student at Ever After High." Said Grim.
Draco sees the bright lights from his dorm and goes to close the curtains but with his enhanced hearing he sees the hunters. If he goes down there he might have to reveal he is a dragon, he doesn't know if the hunters wont harm any of the non-magical students and while the Royals are assholes they don't deserve this.
When the Hunters were about to start gathering any students that were even remotely magic, Draco walks in.
"Hey Assholes! You want me hear I am." Draco takes off his jacket and throws it to Daring "Make yourself useful Charming and be my coat rack."
Draco reveals his wings causing everyone but Raven, Sparrow and the hunters to gasp. The students (mainly the Royals) began whispering about Draco being a dragon since everyone thought he was Raven's cousin, Apple faints.
The hunters begin firing at Draco who flies up to make sure anyone cant get hurt he then dives and takes down a group of hunters, he then uses his wings to knock out some of the hunters. The hunters still continue to fire but Draco breathes fire melting their weapons allowing to easily fly and punch them and knock them out.
More begin to show up but after everyone she's been put through Raven has had enough and just blast all of the remaining hunters with her magic sending them flying as if they are rockets blasting off.
"I didn't enough know I had that much power."
Grim then walks up to the dragon and witch duo who at the same time say: "And we're in trouble."
And that was legacy day, Draco couldn't even keep his secret for a week. Not everyone will hate him or fear him but most of the Royals aren't going to be big fans of him, also as far as treats go for the hunters, think Team Rocket, at least for now.
