Chapter 2
Somewhere in London, Bernard and his co-agent, Miss Bianca are walking along the sidewalk. The two members of the Rescue Aid Society have received an emergency call for help and to fly out immediately. Their good friend, Orville the albatross flew them out to England (much to Bernard's chagrin, who dislikes flying). Now they are looking for little Olivia Flaversham.
"Well, here we are; London, England." Bianca said.
"Yes," said Bernard. "Now, where do we find Olivia Flaversham?"
"I don't know," Bianca answers. "She's got to be around here somewhere."
"But we'll find her."
Feeling rain, the duo opens their umbrellas. As they pass a gate, they hear voices.
Following the sounds, Bianca and Bernard walk under a gate. They head towards a black boot and looked in. Inside the shoe are two mice; one a stout, male mouse and the other, a little girl mouse.
Bernard clears his throat.
"Excuse me," He started to say.
The girl mouse and adult mouse looked up.
"We're sorry to interrupt," said Bernard. "But…"
"We're looking for an Olivia Flaversham," Bianca finished.
"That's me," said Olivia. "Who are you?"
"We're from the Rescue Aid Society." Bernard answered.
"We are here to help you." Bianca added.
"You are?" Olivia asks, a bit hopeful. "Thank goodness. I'm lost and I'm trying to find Basil of Baker Street."
She hands the duo a piece of paper, in which they look at it. The adult mouse, Dr. David Q. Dawson, peers at it.
"'Famous Detective Solves Baffling Disappearance.'" Bernard reads the headline.
"But where are your mother and father?" Dawson inquired, turning to Olivia.
"That's why I must find Basil!" Olivia is about to cry again.
Bianca rushes over to comfort the girl.
"No, no, no," Dawson pleaded. "I, well…now I don't know any Basil…"
"But if all four of us work together and we have faith," Bianca interjected, upon seeing the look in Olivia's eyes.
"We'll be able to find him." Bernard piped up.
"And I do remember where Baker Street is." Dawson adds. "We'll all find this Basil chap together.
Olivia smiles, relieved that the three adults are willing to help her.
The group starts to leave, headed for Baker Street.
"Say, I didn't get your names." Dawson said to Bernard and Bianca.
"Oh, you're right. How rude of us," Bianca said. "I'm Miss Bianca. And this is my co-agent, Mr. Bernard."
"Wonderful to meet you both," Dawson said. "I'm Dr. David Q. Dawson."
