Sorry that this chapter is about a 1 and a half late, there is this nasty storm right now and my power went out so I had no internet and my phone died (how lovely), anyways I'll try to keep posting at around 4:30 PM (CDT) on Fridays but stuff AlWAYS happens on Friday!
-It was around mid-day, on a normal day nothing much was happening just to average heat wave coming in due to it being almost summertime. There wasn't much anyone could do about it since you can only take off so many layers in this weather. Kuro was sitting on her floor, fanning herself with a black fan with a variety of pink flowers on it.
-Kuro's P.O.V- I was starting to get bored since I had nothing to do and my wrist was starting to hurt from fanning myself for so long, everyone was busy at this time even Aka, and he doesn't do much. I think I am my parents' favorite, or just the more favorable child since I get 2 days a week off from Kurai's training while Aka only gets 1 day off.
"But oh well- I decided that maybe I should go see if Mirasakino was free to hang out, but as soon as a descended the stairs to go find her I saw her rush by holding 2 baskets full of stuff stacked on top of each other. She seemed busy and so that means I can't hang out with her, I guess it is time for me to go check and see if I could hang out with Runa since she lives with Kurai and it's only down the road.
"But as soon as I got there I noticed a small piece of paper not on the sliding door saying 'Kurai's isn't here for business inquires come back later, but that's what was odd since I could hear someone out back. So that's what I went to check, to see if maybe Kurai was home but left the note at her door, but that wasn't it once I turned to the corner I saw something that was impossible, a once in several lifetimes event.
"What I saw was Runa outback wearing simple Zori sandals instead of her usually ornate platform sandals, shoveling dirt. Next to her was a cart that seemed to have seed packets in it, I knew that Kurai had a flower-selling business going, but I never in a million years thought that I would see Runa to frivolous Nekomata doing yard work, I thought that she was the one to do the flower arrangments.""Runa why are you doing yard work, I thought that things like this were quote on quote below someone with such a high status like you"?br /Runa slowly turned her head around to make eye contact with me, "Haha, well yardwork like this is indeed below me, Kurai is making me do this since I am essentially living rent-free in her house she said that if I don't do this I'm going to get kicked to the streets". Runa sighed in defeat.
"Ah well that does make sense, well I could help you if you want since I have nothing else to do today, and essentially tomorrow too". Runa turned and smiled at me - "I would appreciate it Kuro, you can grab a mini shovel over there and get to work on helping me plant the last of the carnation flowers, there aren't many left but they can be such a hassle to plant sometimes". I quickly put my hair up into a simple ponytail and pulled my beige tasuki out of my sleeve and tied my sleeves back so they wouldn't get soiled with dirt.
"Once I had gotten that done, I dug around in the little cart that Runa had to grab a mini shovel and some of the flower seeds. I got to work helping dig holes evenly spaced out in the ground first, the soil was soft and was easy to dig in, after digging about 15 or so holes in the ground Runa stopped me- "Ok, so Kurai always organized plants by color since it looks better, and I can vouch for that idea too, so basically each color is to be planted in separate rows, it goes from warm to cool colors-" "So basically in rainbow order"? I butted in because she was drawing out saying that the plants are planted in rainbow order and it was getting on my nerves. "LET ME FINISH WHAT I'M SAYING- Ahem, in between the yellow and green there will be neutral colors, also pink is planted with the warm colors to make it a bit more on the even side". "Yeah, Yeah, I get it, now let's get to planting already I'm getting bored of you talking.
"Also, next week's chapter MAY be posted later in the day since I have my band's spring concert (hooray!) Anyways I will see if I can post it at the normal time, but it all depends on what time the concert is this time.
