Tuck throws up a cereal box, a bowl, and some milk on the kitchen table. He smiles as he sits down, pouring in the cereal. Then a small skateboard falls out of the box. "Wow, a free skateboard!" He gushes and then looks up. "Cereal swag just keeps getting better and better. Well, what's this?" He takes a closer look at the box. "Skateboard champ Tony Squawk doing an amazing, danger-defying stunt over a giant bowl of cereal! So if I eat this cereal like Tony Squawk, then I can do amazing, danger-defying jumps too," He smiles happily at his logic. "In your face, danger! Whoo-hoo!" He skates off the table, knocking over the cereal.
"So 20 minutes with a hair dryer and 20 minutes with a flat iron, and it stays like this all day," Brad is explaining to Jenny how his hair stays spiky. Amy walks over to them and waves.
"Hi, Brad."
"Hey, Ames..." He raises a brow as the two girls look away from each other, crossing their arms. "Did something happen between you guys?"
"Yeah! That she was spying on me to help get rid of my kind!" Jenny points at her in accusation.
"One, Sheldon and I quit and we want nothing to do with those guys. And two, we didn't know what was going on until they assigned us to that ghost town!" Amy defends while holding her head up high. "You're just mad that we were working against robots even though we knew nothing of it. Or are you really just mad that Sheldon and I almost kissed?"
"Wait, you what?!" Brad recoils back in shock. Before he could comment, Tuck rides up his brother's body on a skateboard.
"One side, oldsters!" He skates over them and all three look annoyed. Jenny extends her arm to grab him.
"Whoa, Tuck, be careful," The robot warns him, bringing him back.
"My naïve friend, caution is for the weak, a self-imposed limitation to keep the truly extreme from rocking the world," He holds up a peace sign.
"Oh, yeah, right. So extreme that you still need a curfew," Amy smirks down at him, and the boy flinches as everyone else laughs at him.
"Whatever. Now, if you three senior citizens will excuse me, I have some adrenaline to rush. To the extreme!" He then skates off at a high speed. Amy blinks as he zips right past her, her hair flying past.
"Now, hold on-" The three gasp as they look up ahead. "Tuck, look out!"
The crosswalk goes from green to red, Tuck grinning as he keeps going. And he shows no sign of stopping as a truck is about to pass! "So I was all like, I am so sure, and—sweet baby mud flaps!" He pulls down the horn and presses the brake. Tuck is crossing the street, the truck barely touching him. He squeezes his eyes shut as he's grabbed by Jenny. A fly hits the truck instead as the vehicle leaves.
"Tuck, Tuck! Are you okay? Say something!" Jenny implores as Brad and Amy join her.
"...Ahhhhh!" Tuck starts screaming and they stare at him. And the boy continues screaming all the way through nighttime, without a sign of having stopping. "That was awful. I saw my whole life flash before my eyes—my birth, potty training, getting a skateboard in my cereal, the truck!" He starts screaming again and Brad covers his mouth before he could go on.
"Okay, okay, we get it. You were scared," He picks up his little brother. "Now, enough with the operatics, Pavarotti."
"Scared-I was beyond scared, Brad. This world is a danger-fraught den of danger," Tuck freaks out a bit.
"Hence why we don't skate in front of trucks for a thrill-ride!" Amy points out while sitting on the sidewalk.
"Well, if you do stupid, irresponsible things..." Brad starts off, raising a brow.
"Sure, blame the victim. Oh, the terror! I'm never gonna cross the street again or leave the house or my bed."
"Isn't that a bit extreme?" Jenny quips at him and Amy facepalms.
"Why?" She complains at the pun. "But yeah, it is a bit extreme. You have school and you can't skip classes."
Tuck lets out a sob at the word, Brad looking away in exasperation. "I never wanna hear the word extreme again! Take me home, where it's safe," He hugs Brad tight.
"Don't worry, guys. I'll see that our brave little soldier gets tucked in," Brad walks off, the two waving as they split up to go home. "Goodnight. And you two better talk things out," He gives them a warning look as his eyes say 'I'm watching you.' Amy blows a raspberry at him while Jenny rolls her eyes. Both of them stay in silence for a few seconds before Amy sighs slowly.
"I guess it was wrong to keep the truth from you and to spy on you. But in defense, we didn't know why we had to shadow you."
"And I guess it wasn't cool of me to attack you guys when you thought those guys were good-intended. Or to say it wasn't your business. At least you got to be cool spies for a little while," Jenny smiles encouragingly at her friend.
"It was kinda cool, I'll admit. But give me Skyway Patrol any day," She waves off and they both giggle.
"So what about Sheldon?"
"Ahh," Amy rubs her arm awkwardly. "Well, it's not exactly easy to have a normal conversation with a guy you almost kissed just to get...stuff out in the open. So maybe we'll just be friends—and stay that way."
"Are you sure?" Jenny raises a brow at her. "Because it seems to me that you guys have some stuff to work out."
"We probably do, but I'll handle it another time."
When it's morning, Jenny rings the doorbell, Amy walking up to her. Brad opens it, but doesn't look pleased to see them. "Hey, Brad. Is Tuck back to normal yet?"
"With Tuck, normal is a relative term." Tuck has posted signs outside his door that say to keep out. Brad opens the door... and Tuck has changed up his bedroom. He's wearing a bunch of protective armor, and he's also boarding up the window in his room. And to top it all off, he has caution tape practically everywhere.
"Close the door!" Tuck panics while rushing over to them. "You're letting in natural light. Do you want me to sunburn to death?" He closes the door with a broom. Ahh! Darkness!" He rushes over to the other side of the room.
"So he's afraid of the dark now?" Jenny questions in concern.
"Over one day?" Amy gestures to the window.
"Afraid of the dark, afraid of the light, afraid of switches, afraid of his own shadow..." Brad counts off and Tuck turns around to the wall. The light makes it seem like he's a baby bear and he runs off in fear. "Afraid of earwax, afraid of cats, afraid of heights, afraid of widths. Heck, he's afraid of everything but air."
"Scoff all you want, I'll dance on your grave," Tuck points up at him, wearing a gas mask.
"Tuck, all this seclusion is making you loopy," Jenny speaks up gently. "Why don't you come outside with us and-"
"Outside? Are you mad, woman? The outside world is a horrifying death trap of pain," He looks out the window as kids are happily playing.
"Tuck, come on. You've been equally as in danger many times. As long as you stay safe-"
"You get out, before you give me some awful disease," He pushes the trio towards the door.
"Tuck, this is crazy!" Jenny states as he pushes them out into the hallway.
"What she said!" Amy points at the robot.
"No, you're crazy," He then slams the door, hammering it just like with the window.
"Does he not know we could just break in at any time?" Amy glances at Jenny, since she or the robot could easily kick in the door. Jenny's over 600 pounds of metal, so that door probably wouldn't even phase her.
"So...lunch?"
"Dude!" Amy smacks him in the arm when she sees his smug face.
"Brad, we've gotta help Tuck," Jenny agrees with Amy, gesturing to the door.
"I don't know; I kind of like him better this way," Brad shrugs casually at the girls. "Keeps him out of my hair."
"Well, we're gonna help him," Jenny jerks a thumb to herself and Amy. "And I think I know how," She leans in to whisper into Amy's ear, who nods in agreement with a smile.
Must stay alert Tuck thinks to himself while glancing around the room in a panic. He has a broom and a bat in his hands. Must stay safe. N-n-need more pillows. But even the pillows are against me. The door bangs and he screams, dropping his weapons.
"Okay, Tucker," Jenny speaks up from outside. "This is an intervention," She's standing at his door that she pushed open. She's holding a bag and Amy is standing next to her with a small smirk. Jenny flies over and holds him up.
"I don't wanna be intervened!" He protests in her arms. "Let me go!"
"We just wanna show you something," Jenny takes off his helmet and he screams.
"Tuck, trust me, it's for your own good," Amy adds in with a smile.
"We're gonna prove to you that all this obsessive caution is unnecessary," Jenny holds up a finger.
"You'll be my doom! Both of you!" He lets out another scream and Amy sighs a bit.
"Tuck, you remember my mom's future-scope, don't you?" She holds up the goggles to his face. "Take a peek at the future." Tuck sees himself as an old man.
"Hey, who's the old guy?"
"That's you," Jenny answers as Older Tuck is sitting in a floating wheelchair. "80 years from now." Future Tuck is looking at some kids tossing a ball around outside his house.
"You kids are making my bunions burn with your tomfoolery," He shakes his cane angrily. "Now, get!"
"Okay, so I'm a cranky old man," Tuck states as the two kids fly off with jetpacks. "What's your point?"
"Tuck, you're gonna live a long life," Jenny smiles down at him.
"She's right, if you're an old man in the future, you don't need to worry about going outside," Amy tells him gently.
"Yeah, you've got nothing to fear," Jenny says and he flinches with wide eyes.
"Ohhh, I'm gonna be fine."
"Yep," Jenny agrees with the little boy.
"I don't need to live in fear," He takes off the gear.
"Nope," Jenny places her hands behind her back, secretly fist-bumping Amy.
"My future is secure."
"Sure as shootin'," Jenny pats him on the head.
"I can't be harmed!" Tuck declares while pointing at the sky. The two glance at each other skeptically as he could still be hurt like any other normal human being.
"Well..."
"I mean, unless you're wearing a superpowered suit and saving the world. Or even a teenage robot," Amy murmurs while looking away, Jenny nudging her. Amy holds up her hands in defense.
"I'm invulnerable!" Tuck runs out of the room. He steps outside and sniffs the air. "I just inhaled a jillion germs, and I didn't get the plague."
"Why are you worrying about a disease that's practically dead?" Amy calls out as they watch him leave. Tuck runs up to a little girl in the pool, taking a bite out of a sandwich. He then jumps into it, annoying her.
"Wow, no cramps," He smiles, tossing the sandwich into her hands as the girls watch him leave. He then gets some rock pops from a vending machine, and a soda as well. He puts both into his mouth, letting the fizz bubble out of his mouth. "No intestinal explosions! I did it all and survived!" He runs off happily.
"Well, he's sort of back to normal," Jenny comments to Amy.
"As normal as he can be for Tuck," Amy remarks as she looks a bit skeptical.
"I guess it's better than being all paranoid and—what the?!" Her eyes widen at something up ahead and Amy gasps. They both rush over to Tuck—as he was about to hurt himself with an anvil above his head! They save him, but the anvil crashes through the sidewalk.
"Hey, what's going on-" Brad screams as he falls through the hole the anvil made.
"Tuck, that was really dangerous," Jenny scolds the little boy.
"Are you crazy? You could've gotten serious head trauma!" Amy gestures to him wildly.
"I'm okay, aren't I? I'm destined to live another 8 decades, right?"
Brad pops out of the sidewalk, and he doesn't look too happy with Tuck either. "Where did you even get an anvil?"
A blacksmith is holding a hot horseshoe, holding the hammer above his head. He then smashes on the horseshoe, breaking the table in the process. He looks down in confusion as he's just noticing his anvil is missing.
"What makes you think you can get away with a stunt like that?"
"Just because you'll live a long life doesn't mean you're a superhero!" Amy crosses her arms. "Jen's gonna live a long life, but she's still capable of getting hurt."
"I'm invulnerable, duh," Tuck looks away, ignoring her.
"You are not invulnerable," Jenny corrects him, a bit annoyed.
"If you're so invulnerable, why don't you go lay in front of a steamroller?" Brad suggests in a sarcastic way.
"Great idea!" Tuck runs off with a smile.
"He can't possibly be that dumb, right?" Jenny asks her friends hopefully.
"Well, this is Tuck we're talking about..." Brad taps his chin in thought.
"I just hope he doesn't give Piri any ideas," Amy murmurs and they stand there in silence for a few seconds. Then Jenny and Amy leave to go check on Tuck, just in case. He's actually laying in front of a steamroller, about to get hit before Jenny pushes him out of the way. Amy winces as Jenny gets affected by it instead.
Meanwhile, the construction worker is on the phone, not even paying attention. "So I'm all like, oh, yeah, right. And he's all like..."
Amy looks down at the flattened Jenny. She stands up and looks at herself. Two other workers approach them, and one of them has a sandwich. He grabs her arm and uses it to cut his sandwich in half. He gives the other half to his coworker, Amy sighing heavily with a hand on her forehead. Jenny looks annoyed herself and then goes after Tuck.
"Now, listen up," She starts off angrily to Tuck dusting himself off. "You better not do anything so pointlessly dangerous again."
"Even if you are gonna live for decades, at least value your life enough to not do stuff like that!" Amy gestures to the construction area.
"Cool your jets, ladies," He holds up his hands with a big grin. "I promise I'll never do anything pointlessly dangerous again, okay?"
"Uh...yeah, okay," Jenny eyes him cautiously, and Amy doesn't look convinced either. "See that you don't."
"We're gonna remember this, I swear," Amy rolls her eyes to the back of her head as they leave.
"After all, why would I do stuff that was pointlessly dangerous when I could do dangerous stuff for fame and glory?" He turns around with an evil look on his face. He then starts laughing manically, the girls unaware of his plans.
"Gather around, fellow classmates," He starts at Tremorton Elementary the next day. "I, Tucker Cornelius Carbunkle, shall take any dare in exchange for lunch money, ice cream, or preservative-filled snacks."
"Hang on, hang on," Piri walks up, looking angrily at him. "How dare you do this...without including me in on it!" She jerks a thumb to herself with a smile.
"Piri Noelle Smith, I hereby include you on my partaking," Tuck smirks while gesturing to her and they share a high-five.
"Will you eat bugs?"
"Pfft, too pedestrian," Tuck waves it off. "Think of something dangerous."
"And eating bugs shows underestimating," Piri states with her hands behind her back. "We need something death-defying!"
"...Eat two bugs each?"
"Pants the gym coach," One of the girls suggests with a smile.
"Roll around in poison ivy," A little boy suggests.
"Eat three bugs," The same boy from before adds in.
"People, people, you're obviously not getting it, so we'll give you one free demonstration. Observe, yonder solid brick wall. Prepare to gasp in stunned amazement as we proceed to ram our heads through it."
"Whoa, Tuck, that's a bit hardcore, isn't it?" Piri recoils back a bit. "...Oh man, I'm sounding like my sisters, ew. Never mind, let's do this!"
Both of them run for the wall. "Banzai!" The whole class cheers for them, and their heads barely touch it. However, the wall breaks into pieces anyway. "Ta-da!" Teachers are looking in from the other side of the wall as that's the teacher's lounge...
The class cheers as they reveal that Jenny and Amy had actually blasted the wall to bits. Amy is in the Mecha suit, and neither of them look happy with the duo. "Tuck, you little maniac!" She shouts at him, fists clenched.
"And now you're dragging my sister into this?!" Amy grits her teeth. Meanwhile, the class lift them up while cheering them on.
"Thank you, thank you. Your adoration is well placed," He smiles from all the praise.
"Now where's all that money?" Piri holds up a bag for them to start putting money into. Jenny extends her arm to grab Tuck, Amy walking over and picking up her sister. Piri smiles sheepishly up at Amy as they're both taken out of school.
"Hey, what gives? You're interrupting our glory," He protests up at her.
"And you're stealing our money!" Piri whines up at her sister.
"Glory?" Jenny asks in disbelief. "Tuck, if we hadn't detected your dopey stunt with our stupid-o-meter, you'd have cracked your skulls open like an egg," She gestures to a meter with a clown face on it with its eyes swirling.
"Even you two of all people should know that a brick wall and your little heads," She uses one finger each to wiggle them onto their head. They push her hands away in annoyance. "Doesn't equal invulnerability! You two could've gotten really hurt!"
"But we didn't, did we?" Tuck points out with a smirk. "The whys and wherefores aren't important. The fact is that I'm unharmable, and our public is eating it up like sundaes."
"Again with this," Amy sighs as she pinches her nose, glancing at Jenny. "I told you we weren't done with it..."
"Look, we've got better things to do than chase after you all day. Or Piri, so knock it off," Jenny scolds the two. "Get this straight—you are not indestructible, Tuck."
"She's right, you're perfectly capable of being harmed like anybody else. And I'm telling Mom and Dad about your little stunt later," She points down at Piri, who grumbles and pouts, crossing her arms. "And Tuck, if you make us come back, you'll be in the same amount of trouble as she is!"
"Hmm," Tuck taps his chin as they watch the two leave. "They're right. Indestructible Tuck is too wordy. We'll be...Indest-Tuck-tible!" He's standing on a yard...advertising himself as a human cannonball. Piri is wearing a parachute while having a plane nearby. Both of them are wearing daredevil costumes. "For today's stunt, I shall become the human cannonball."
"And I shall fly without a parachute!" Piri holds it up, winking at the pilot nearby.
Jenny, Amy, and Sheldon are enjoying shakes at Mezmers. Claudia and Emily are there as well. Brad for some reason is working there as he pours them cups. The stupid-o-meters go off from the girls, and they leave to go see what's up. While leaving, they knock over the shakes all over their friends and they all blink.
Once the two get there, they grab the cannonball and plane. Jenny holds the cannonball and Tuck lands safely, earning cheers. The cannonball goes off since the fuse was lit, covering Jenny in soot. Meanwhile the plane flies off with Amy in tow, alarming her as she looks up to see her sister jump off the plane. Piri lets go of the parachute. Amy lets go 10 feet above the ground and lands hard, letting Piri land on her back. Piri basks in the glory as the cannonball lands over Jenny. The parachute lands over Amy's head.
"The human wrecking ball!" Tuck is holding onto one while a building is about to be condemned.
"While I will be unharmed by it!" Piri takes a small bow in front of the building.
Amy is enjoying a nice warm bubble bath. Jenny is sitting in a bathtub full of oil, reading a newspaper. Both of their alarms go off, much to their chargin. Jenny takes off while Amy reaches up towards her towel, annoyed.
The wrecking ball is about to hit Piri when Amy dashes in and catches her. Tuck jumps down from the wrecking ball, as Jenny had caught building...which then lands over her. Amy puts down her sister and is about to dismantle the wrecking ball when it lands over her body.
"The human basketballs!" Tuck announces while the referee is holding him and Piri.
Jenny and Amy are on the phone together when their meters go off once again. Both of them give knowing looks and at first ignore it. But they couldn't help but answer and they leave. The two are thrown up and Jenny catches Tuck, just as her head is taken off to be used instead. Amy catches Piri and is tackled to the ground. One player tosses Jenny's head to another, and they run off. Jenny's body goes after them and she takes her head back. She jumps up and flips, destroying the basket in the process. She lands and holds up her finger, spinning her head.
"You traitor!" She calls out to them. Amy storms up to the two kids and picks them up, taking them away.
"You've pushed us way too far, guys," Jenny scolds while they're standing on a huge ramp. "If you go through with this stunt, we are not saving you," She crosses her arms.
"And I'll tell Dad," Brad adds in and a car beeps from down below. Amy smirks as her parents come out of it, Piri sweating nervously.
"Piri Noelle Smith, get down there this instant because you are grounded for a month!"
"Awww!" She whines while climbing down the ladder.
"It's for your own good!" Amy calls out, getting a raspberry in response.
"Will you guys relax? Thrill seekers," He speaks into a microphone. "This is the stunt you've all been waiting for." A big crowd of people are watching down below. "Mere moments from now, I shall endeavor to ride this rocket-powered tricycle down this ramp, jumping over City Hall, which has been adorned with a tank full of Tuck-eating sharks." Sharks jump out of the pool. "But before I begin, allow me to thank my sponsors: Troy's Toys for supplying the bike, Amy's Army Surplus for the rockets, and Pete's Pets for the sharks. Let's do this thing!"
The crowd cheers again as they're holding up signs with his name. "This is your last chance to back out, Tuck," Jenny gestures to him. "Piri's already out for this, which means she's lucky. But you won't be."
"Yeah, once you jump those sharks, the show is over."
"This is ridiculous, and you know it, just give everything back and pretend this never happened," Amy offers him next.
"You go down that ramp, you're on your own," Jenny warns the boy.
"Guys, guys, guys, when I flip this switch, I'll be rocketed into worldwide fame. This is my moment. Absolutely nothing could make it any sweeter," A ladybug lands on his finger while he's talking. "Oh, a ladybug. That's good luck. You see, guys? I—ow!" He moves away his hand as the ladybug flies away. "It bit me. It bit me...and it hurt," His eyes widen as he realizes that if he was invulnerable, he wouldn't had felt it. "If a ladybug can hurt me, imagine what would happen if this stunt goes awry. The rockets, the jump, the sharks! Get me off this crazy thing!"
The others smile in satisfaction that he's finally seeing reason. "That a boy, Tuck."
"It's about time," Amy sighs in relief.
"What was I thinking? I just hope no one watching me ever tries to imitate my crazy stunts."
"Most folks aren't that stupid, Tuck," Brad points out to his brother.
"Now, now, Brad. At least he came to his senses," Jenny gestures to the boy.
"And he realized that he's not invulnerable," Amy adds in with a small smile.
"I'm proud of you," Jenny smacks the back of his head lightly, making him start the bike. They all gasp sharply as the rockets fizzle out, and nothing happens. They all sigh in relief...then the bike goes off at rocket speed, alarming them. The trio wince as Tuck goes through the stunt, and everyone cheers after it's over. "Uh, maybe we should go help Tuck."
"What's left of him," Brad states as Amy signals to her parents to call a hospital.
"Ow..." Tuck meekly cries out in pain.
The trio and Amy's sisters, aside from Piri, stand outside the Carbunkle house the next day. "Well, Tuck, are you sad that your career as a daredevil is over?" Jenny questions as Tuck is in a full body cast, sitting on a rocking chair.
"Naw, I learned a valuable lesson about using good, old-fashioned common sense. Besides, I think the future-scope was pretty clear on my destiny. You kids are making my bunions burn with your tomfoolery! Now, get!" He calls out to two kids in the yard. Piri watches him from outside, whining like a puppy dog as her face hugs the window. Like her parents promised, she's grounded and can't go outside...
