"Oh, Amity, I can't believe this day would come!" The walk towards Amity's new room was filled with her mentor gushing over how great Amity was. Amity could only awkwardly smile and reply with a 'thank you' over and over. Lined along the walls were paintings of previous golden guards. Most of them showed their own ceremony like hers or an act of triumph in the name of the emperor. The uniform still felt uncomfortable for Amity. She wasn't sure if it was the material or her thoughts.

" , may I ask you a question?" Amity stopped standing in the hallway. Lilith stood beside her still beaming.

"Yes, my pupil anything-."

"What happened to the old golden guard?"

Lilith's smile faded away instantly at the sound of the question. The praise that once filled the hallway was replaced with suffocating tension.

"Nothing, I'm allowed to say. Not yet anyway."

They walked in silence. Leaving Amity alone with her thoughts. It's alright, Amity. You've dreamed of being in the emperor's coven! And this is the top of it all! You're the best. You. Are. The. Best!

Amity wishes she was more like her siblings. Maybe then, lying wouldn't have been so hard. Lilith stood near a simple wooden door with the initials G.G. written on it.

"This is your new room and first start in your new life," the cheerful energy and smile returned to Lilith. She placed a hand on Amity's shoulder and smiled. "I'll see you at the dining hall later tonight!" She walked off humming to herself leaving Amity alone. The door slowly creaked open. Amity looked around her new room. It was certainly an upgrade from her old one in the Blight manor. The room was spacious and filled with natural light. She walked over to the window and looked out at the vast landscape of the Boiling Isles. It was a beautiful view. She turned her attention to a massive red bed. Across the bed was a dresser with a large mirror on top of it. She gingerly walked over to it and laid down attempting to embrace the softness and comfort the bed provided. The false sense of safety pushed her to tears. They were bitter and annoyed her. It was just a human! So why does it...hurt. The crying session provided Amity with a sense of Clairvoyance. She wiped the tears from her face and took a few deep breaths. She was no warrior. Honestly, she has no idea what she was doing. However, Amity realized she has some control. Some freedom. While the golden guard has to work under the emperor's orders, she could have some opportunities others didn't. Her eyes widened at the realization.

"I can learn different types of magic!" She shot from the bed and began to pace in her room. "Alright Blight, time to list the pros; I can learn different types of magic, I can go wherever I want," she paused. "Well, at least with reason." She noticed her reflection in the mirror. Her eyes focused on her green hair. The dye was beginning to fade, showing off her brown roots. "I-I can control my hair...I can control my hair!" She exclaimed. "It's gonna be alright, Amity. You got this," she said pointing at her reflection. Despite her forced positivity she couldn't help but focus on the red tinge in her eyes and the tear marks on her face. With a heavy sigh, she tried to push out her guilt.

"She's a human. She...she shouldn't have tried to be a witch. She couldn't even be a witch! It's not my fault she challenged me. I-I..." Amity pinched her nose and sighed. "Luz...why?"
