The next morning I awoke to knocks on my dorm room door, it was rather an energetic knocking, so I assumed it was someone I know "Hey, Uchuki, do you want to come eat breakfast with me before our classes begin?" It was Nemona's voice.
"Oh, uh, sure!" I responded, hopping out of bed "Let me just get changed first!"
"Alright, I'll be waiting for you!" She said at last, I couldn't tell if she was still there, or if she left, but I would find out soon enough, I doubt I would have had a psychic vision over it.
Eventually, I changed into the school uniform, it felt rather comfortable, and the materials were definitely high quality. What's more, they were made flawlessly! I wonder how much money gets put into the uniforms.
After changing, I left my room, and there she was, waiting for me. I was a bit surprised but figured it wasn't worth overthinking.
"Oh, done already? C'mon, let's head down to the Cafeteria!" She told me, taking my hand and leading me towards there.
Upon arrival, we were stopped by the person from before. Arven I believe it was.
"Hey."
"Not interested, C'mon Uchuki," Nemona said, pulling me past.
"S-sorry!" I apologized
"Hey, wait! Uchuki, I wanted to speak to you," He glanced over at Nemona "Alone."
"Uh... A-alright" I reluctantly agreed as Nemona sighed, giving us some space.
"How is it that you knew that stuff from before... I've never seen you before, and no one should know about that beast"
"I-I can't explain it, I just know things..."
"Did you hear it from anyone!?"
"N-no... At least, I don't know... I thought I heard you say it..."
"I said it? I don't remember sayin' anything like that, at least not in front of others..."
"Sorry... I shouldn't have said anything"
"No, it's good that you did! Y'see, I'm looking for someone's help, someone who can help me find the mythical 'Herba Mystica,' heard of it?" I shook my head. "Oh well, will you help me?"
"Oh... Uhm...Well, I'd love to, but I can't skip my classes"
"Oh, you didn't hear? We'll have the Region Treasure Hunt soon! Then you can help me"
"Uh... I'll think about it?" I shrugged, not really sure of what he was going on about. Treasure Hunting does sound fun though... Wonder what we're looking for. Arven eventually left to another side of the cafeteria.
"What was that all about..." She asked though I wasn't sure how to answer. "Oh well, anyways, we should eat something, anything catch your eye?"
After breakfast, classes would begin, six classes total with lunch being after the fourth class. My classroom schedule was a bit difficult to adjust to, but I found them on time thankfully. After the day, I was free to roam around the school as I pleased. As I was wandering, I saw a girl wearing a grey sweater with a translucent skirt and Plusle and Minum-themed leggings. Their hair was in two different colors red and blue. I couldn't see much of her face as it was covered by her large circular glasses. As I looked at her, I saw a few oddly dressed individuals approach her. They were wearing their uniforms, though they were heavily altered and were most certainly against the dress code, they would then begin pestering her as she begged them to stop. I don't know why they were doing it, but I ran over there to get them to leave her alone. I certainly wasn't the strongest, but if I could attract attention, it could scare them away.
"Knock it off! She's clearly not happy!"
"Bug off! We're getting her to join Team Star!" The first one exclaimed, proud of their self-proclaimed status
"Team Star?" What an odd name, certainly doesn't sound intimidating...
"What!? You haven't heard of us!?"
"Uh...No?" I said before the one behind them began to speak.
"We're not interested in you, I'll show you that you aren't even close to being ready to join!" He threw down a Pokéball as a Pokémon unfamiliar to me came out. My turn. I threw out Lycanroc as it began to growl in a defensive position.
Somehow, it triggered a vision as I saw them using Bite to which, I knew how Lycanroc should dodge it.
"Jump up and use Accelroc!" I called out as it used its height to pounce down onto it, causing it to faint almost instantaneously
"W-what!? But no one's ever avoided Shroodle's attack before!" I found that difficult to believe, but before I could respond I heard Nemona come up from behind saying something.
"Oh, that's where you were! Were you battling some other trainers? Y'know you could just battle me!"
"Huh? Oh... I didn't really want to... I sort of had to..." I muttered, turning around to find the odd students had fled. I wonder where they went.
"Oh, who were those students anyways? They were definitely against the dress code!"
"I don't know... But, are you okay?" I asked, turning to face the girl but she had just vanished without saying anything. "Oh...Well I guess so"
"Well, that was weird. Oh, right, I wanted to ask if you've made any plans for the treasure hunt!"
"Oh, right, Arven said something about that"
"Arven did? So is that what you talked about?"
"Y-yeah... He wanted my help to look for some 'Herba Mystica,' I'm not really sure what that is..."
"Herba Mystica? Never heard of it... Maybe there's something about it in the library?"
"Maybe, I'll look later," I said before looking down to Lycanroc, who seemed to want a walk. "I think I'm gonna go for a walk, Lycanroc seems to want one too"
"A walk sounds nice, do you want me to go with you, or should I give you your privacy?"
"No, it's alright. You can come if you want" I admitted "I'd probably end up lost anyways"
"I suppose that's true, you don't quite know the area yet, do you?" I shook my head, truthfully, I've never quite left home before now. Due to my visions, my mother was always overprotective about who I spoke to and where I was. Although over time she loosened her restrictions, I don't blame her, but it has been a bit lonely at times.
"Which, I don't believe I've seen you around, are you new to the region?"
"No, not exactly. I've been sort of nervous to leave home, but I'm glad I did"
"I am too! I'm glad that you've enjoyed yourself! But, don't forget to return home every now and again"
"I know, I miss Mum, but I know that she's cheering me on!" She took some time to adjust to it, but she's always been supportive, no matter what.
"I wanted to ask you something, do you mind?"
"No, what is it?"
"It's just that, yesterday, you spoke about Arven and that Pokémon as if you knew them beforehand, and yet you had never even seen them before. How is that? You even knew the Pokémon's name before anyone said it"
"O-oh, uh... I'm not really sure... I just knew, maybe I imagined it?"
"Imagined it?"
"Maybe? I don't know..."
"You don't? Well, if you ever figure it out, let me know!"
"Alright, I will"
"Oh, and... The treasure hunt, I wanted to ask...I... I know that Arven asked you to do something, but, would you like to go on an adventure to take down the gyms?"
"Gyms? Maybe... I haven't decided yet"
"You haven't? Haven't you dreamed of traveling the world? Battling trainers, young and old? Traveling with your Pokémon? Nothing?" I shook my head
"Truthfully, I haven't thought of it much"
"That's a little odd... But I suppose I've only just met you, oh, here, I wanna show you one of my favorite spots, follow me" She took my hand, then threw down a Pokéball as a Corvinight came out of it, she practically threw me on top of it as she jumped onto it after.
She made me close my eyes as she then led me somewhere.
"Okay, open 'em!" She said, I then embraced the sight before myself. I was atop the school, seeing the nearby towns as if I was at the top of the world, and yet. It held no fear, through it all, I could see the ocean, the setting sun colliding onto its surface to create a gentle dusk.
"This has been my favorite place since I first enrolled" She admitted, staring across the sunset.
"I can see why"
"But... While we're here... You don't talk about yourself often, do you?"
"What do you mean?"
"Well, it's just that... Well, you feel like an open book to me, and yet you're a complete mystery"
"A mystery?"
"Well, like how you know stuff before you should, how you have that odd Lycanroc. It just seems like you're normal in such an odd way"
"That... Doesn't really make sense..."
"Oh, it doesn't? Whoops!" She laughed
"Um...But, Lycanroc is odd?"
"Yeah! Where'd you find 'em?"
"I... Don't really know, I think they were my birth mother's Pokémon, I've always been with them, so I don't remember"
"Your... Birth mother? So, you're... Adopted?"
"Oh, you didn't know? Well, it doesn't matter anyways! My mum's always been there for me, so she and Lycanroc are all I need!"
"All you need... Well, I don't know a whole lot about how families work, mine's always been that stereotypical perfect family, but I'm always here if you need a friend!"
"We're... Friends?"
"Yeah! Rivals too!"
"Huh? Oh, I don't know about rivals! I'm not really that great at battling"
"Well, I'd still like to think of you as one... But, hey! That's a lie!"
"Huh? I didn't lie!"
"Sure you did! I saw you battling with Lycanroc, the way you predicted its movements, you had to have known what you were doing!"
"W-wait, it's not like that! I promise I'm not good at battling!"
"Oh, so it was just by mistake?" She asked, I guess she tried to keep an open mind, but I could tell she didn't believe me. Above all, I had to keep my visions secret, she got close, but I don't believe she knows.
"But, I guess I shouldn't be piling all of this on you all of a sudden. We still have about a week or so until the treaure hunt, mainly because you transferred in so late"
"It's alright"
"Thanks, Uchuki... Y'know... Hm, oh, nevermind"
"What is it?"
"It's nothing, forgot what I was going to say"
"Oh, alright"
"Um... Oh, hey! How is that Pokémon you saved, Koridon, was it?"
"Oh, I haven't really checked," I said reaching into my pocket trying to pull out the Pokéball as it fell out and rolled off the side of the roof. Without thinking, I jumped off, aiming for it before realizing the danger I was in. Everything froze as I witnessed another vision, in the dream, I sucessfully caught the Pokéball, but seconds later, struck the ground as the world grew darker. I tried to scream, but my fear halted any sound as I just braced for impact. Then, it happened again. Koridon changed the flow of time, jumping out of its Pokéball to catch me and bring me down safely.
I was stunned! Once again, Koridon changed time without ever seeing it... Unless, we both received psychic visions, but that would be impossible! Right?
"Ah! Uchuki, are you alright!?" She called out, using Corvinight to carry her back down. I don't think I could respond yet, I was still shaking, I could've easily died twice, and yet both times, Koridon saved me from it. Just, who, or what is this Pokémon?
I don't exactly remember anything else, I think I blacked out, and had to be carried back to my dorm.
