It's been 20 minutes since he's got here and she was still back there getting ready. It didn't make him feel any better. His heart was close to damn near beating out of his chest. His phone could only do so much to quell his anxiety.
"Nice tux," the speedster ran into the kitchen next to where the bird was leaning on the counter. It was one of the rare moments that the red head didn't have food on him. He must be here to heckle.
"Did you pull it out of the "fancy dinner" collection in the back of your closet?"
"I'll remember that when you take Artemis to her prom," he responded.
"Dude, what's the big deal?" He laughed, following him around the counter where they could see the hallway more clearly. "You've taken her to so many of those fancy events. You're only taking her to her prom. It's not like you've never seen her in a dress before."
"Again, remember that when you have to take Artemis to her prom."
"Whatever, dude. Hey, try not to fall on your face," he said before speeding back off and before Robin could punch him in the arm.
Sure he's taken the magician to a lot of his "fancy events", but what Wally would never understand is that he would never get tired of seeing Zatanna in a dress. She puts so much into how she looks every time he invites her out. Everytime she takes his breath away. And maybe it wasn't just her and her effort. And maybe there were feelings involved too.
"Stupid Kid Mouth," he muttered.
"I'm guessing he said something stupid."
A breeze of lavender hit him dead in his tracks. This one was a new dress, a dark blue one that shimmered as she walked and adorned her, just like one of the brightest stars in the sky.
It took his breath away.
"Robin?"
"Huh? Oh! Nothing. You know KF." He offered her his arm. "Shall we?"
"Sorry for asking you to do this," she apologized as she looped her arm through his.
"Don't sweat it. There's no way I'd miss out on taking you to your prom."
