Heading outside with his plans clear, Shawn came out to speak to Jade who was sitting with Mia who looked as white as a ghost.
Coming up to the pair, Shawn placed his hand on Jade's shoulder to ensure she was okay before looking over to Mia. "What's wrong?"
A few seconds passed before Mia broke out of her trance. "Your sister...she said you were going to see a man about your father. Xing Po."
"That's right. He was a college of my father." Shawn confirmed still taking note of Mia's concerning look.
"No no no...That...That is not good." As Mia shook her head, Shawn quirked a brow wondering what was wrong. Mr. Po was a long-time business partner of his father. Someone who had helped him come to New York in the first place.
"Mia. Tell us why that is not good?"
Taking a deep breath, Mia ran her hands through her hair before answering. "Okay. So...I dated a high ranking liutenent from the Yakuza. He had just been promoted and found me one night on the dance floor. Not a big talker but he was one man who handled business for his boss. Mr. Po was someone who he had a number of business deals with. The pair spoke at least once a day on top of their meetings. Mr. Po was in deep with the Yakuza. They had him on the payroll and I can tell you anyone who does business with him, they were dealing with the Yakuza in some way shape or form."
Losing the color in his cheeks as well, Jade moved up to grab her brother and prop him up noticing the wobble in his legs. "What...no. That cannot...my father would not do business with the Yakuza! That's impossible!"
Mia frowned as she sat up from her chair to turn her full attention to Shawn. "If your father did business with Mr. Po then there is no doubt that the Yakuza is involved in his disappearance."
Taking note of the conversation, Samuel and Calvin both moved up to the group as Shawn moved back to take a seat.
"This could be a mistake. I do not believe that your father was doing business with a gang like the Yakuza." As Calvin spoke up, Samuel moved over to place his arm around Shawn noticing his disbelief.
"Shawn...Jade...I'm sorry. I am just telling you what I know."
Not blaming Mia for anything, Shawn knew one thing. They had to find his dad. Even more so now to get to the bottom of this mystery. "This man you dated..."
"Yi Ming." Mia said as Shawn took in a deep breath to gather his bearings.
"Yi Ming...does he have an address?"
"He does. However you will never find him there. He typically hangs out around the docks monitoring the shipments that the Yakuza get in every other day."
"What days?" Shawn demanded knowing that this Yi Ming was someone that he would need to speak to.
"...Monday. Thursday and Saturday."
Looking at his watch, Shawn took note of the day. Friday. This was going to work out in their favor as each person knew exactly what he was thinking.
"We have to get back to our hotel. We need to grab our gear. We have somewhere to be tomorrow night."
Looking around the room, each and every person had a nod knowing that they were going to join Shawn on this mission to find an actual high-ranking member of the Yakuza. There was no way they were letting him go alone.
"Mia. If you are serious...we could use your help in finding this man and where he could be." As Shawn directed his next statement to their host, she looked around the room and gave a nod.
"I told you I had a debt and if finding your father will repay that debt then count me in."
