Bad Batch Vs Predators Chapter 1

The very first thing Hunter can recall when he returns to consciousness in the land of the living is falling and a sharp roaring whistling noise as rapid windfall rushes past his ears in the drop.

Hunter opens his eyes to find himself tumbling downward over hundreds of feet much to his alarm with the ground rapidly approaching at every second.

Hunter doesn't know how he's going to be able to get out of this one with his life intact. Hell, he doesn't even have a clue how he's even gotten into this.

Loud screaming nearby catches his attention. Turns out Hunter isn't alone in this. Tech, Echo, Wrecker, and even Omega are dropping as well from all sides surrounding him in the exact same predicament. The screams are coming from Wrecker. Being incredibly terrified of heights this is Wrecker's worse nightmare come true into reality. Hunter is too far away, unable to retrieve any of them.

With his heart racing and plummeting throughout his chest Hunter is starting to think death is going be inevitable the most astounding and unexpected happened.

Out of a device that hadn't been on his chest previously emerges a parachute. The sudden launch harshly yanks his body in the air into a slower descent. Far enough away yet close to the ground at this point that it was still lacking an easy landing of sorts.

The drop is broken by various trees and branches, but it is not enough to bring it to a halt entirely.

Hunter lands on his stomach, the breath knocked out of him.

Doesn't matter where you come from or what kind of stuff you're made out of, that is always going to hurt.

Taking a moment to catch his breath Hunter groans, checking all his body parts in order to make sure nothing is broken, and rises to a standing position. Rotating an aching shoulder Hunter scans the terrain around him to see that he's currently in a jungle and not one he recognizes.

"Echo! Tech! Omega! Wrecker! Sound off," called Hunter, waiting to get a response and receiving none. "Guys!"

"Hunter!"

Hunter spins around to see Omega rushing toward him with Echo trailing behind her.

Omega wraps her arms tightly around Hunter's waist in a tight grip and he holds her close to him.

"Are you hurt," said Hunter, stroking her hair gently.

Shaking her head against his stomach, Omega whispered "That was so scary."

"No argument there, Kid," said Echo, reaching them at last. "I don't know about you, Hunter, but that was the craziest thing that we've ever done and we've been through quite a lot."

"No argument there. I don't recall a job that required us to be air-dropped while unconscious," said Hunter, eyes narrowed as he attempted to remember what caused them to be in that situation to start with yet not coming up with anything. "Did you see the others?"

"No, but I could hear Wrecker screaming as I know you did. So he and Tech have to be around here somewhere," deduced Echo.

Speaking of which…

"Help!"

That's Wrecker.

The three of them then head off in the direction where they can hear Wrecker's voice coming from. There they find Wrecker hanging upside down in a tree with Tech underneath struggling to reach him.

Pushing aside his relief to see them alive Hunter quickly gets down to business.

"You guys all right," he asked.

"For the time being. Wrecker's precarious position is proving to be a bit difficult," said Tech, irritated and touchy.

"Get me down from here," said Wrecker, flailing and writhing from the lines keeping him attached to the branch he's hanging from.

No sooner did Wrecker say this than a bolt of blaster fire cuts through the main line that's causing the problem. Wrecker is released and he flops down heavily onto the ground in a face plant. Fortunately, his helmet takes the brunt of it and it helps that he possesses a very hard head.

"Thanks, guys," said Wrecker, letting Omega assist him up. "I really hated that."

"Hold on. That wasn't any of us," said Echo, noticing that none of them had a weapon on.

Following the path the blaster bolt took they locate the perpetrator. Someone they hadn't been expecting to see here.

Crosshair.

And he's aiming his rifle directly at Hunter.

Not intending to start a fight, raising his hands placatingly, Hunter said "Lower the rifle, Crosshair. We don't want to start a fight."

Emitting an unamused chuckle, Crosshair countered "I find that funny since you're the ones that brought me here."

"Whatever it is you're thinking of we had no part in it. We're just as confused as you are. Are you telling us neither you nor the Empire you serve did this," questioned Tech.

There's a pause and Crosshair shakes his head making them glance at each other in bewilderment.

"What's the last thing you remember, Crosshair," said Hunter.

"I was hit with a bright light and then-," said Crosshair only to get cut off.

"Falling," said Wrecker.

"Same thing with me," said Omega, fearfully. "I didn't know where I was or remember how I got here with you."

"It seems we're in the same boat, Crosshair. If neither side is behind this then who is? A truce until we find out," offered Hunter, reasonably.

Crosshair appears to seriously consider his options. Then he makes his choice.

"Fine," said Crosshair, begrudgingly, shouldering his blaster.

He may perhaps have need of it again sooner than he thinks. They all might have to use their weapons at the closest opportunity.

Weapon fire in the distance has them on the alert. They all rush off toward it hoping they'll find some answers.

Authors Note:

Heads up everyone there's someone on fanfiction you need to seriously watch out for. Early last morning after I woke up I was checking my email and I saw I had a new guest review on my A Dog's Purpose Is Strange Magic 2 sequel. I took a look at it and got a very big shock. Some random person I've never spoken to before on here or anywhere else in my life was basically threatening me. Intimidating and practically ordering me to write a threatening letter to someone on their behalf, telling to stay off of for life or else they and everyone else close to them would be killed, disgustingly telling them to kill themselves. And at the bottom of the message this crazy person wasn't done. Warning me that if I don't send the letter then they would kill me and for confirmation to email them to make absolutely sure I complied with their demands. Of course I did nothing of the sort. Instead of doing what they wanted I reported them to the website, sent copies of this deplorable guest review message to police officer cousins of mine so they could have it on file, and I went to a nearby police station and reported it.

When I spoke to the police officers and they checked everything on the message they saw, that while the address and names of business were accurate the people and their names were not. They agree it was more than likely a scam because of the email address on the bottom in order to perhaps get access to personal information or potentially hack my computer. Despite that I'm still very happy they took it seriously as I showed and told them everything. All the same I'm still very happy that I brought this to the attention of law enforcement. Even though the entire thing might be fake I'm still very happy to have brought this to the attention of those who can do something about it if it was legit in someway. This may have been a scam, but it's obvious these people are beyond irresponsible if they try to goad people into sending death threats to random strangers just to get access to info.

Be that as it may if this does unfortunately happen to you do not send any messages to the email addresses they put down and I HIGHLY RECOMMEND that you bring the message to the authorities immediately whether it is legit or not.

Because it's a guest review it might not be visible for a couple of days as it loads. But when it does I'm definitely pressing the report abuse button.

I swear it's like they're getting worse and worse all the time and it's like officials are simply just ignoring it or pretending it doesn't exist entirely just to go on with their daily lives. Especially those in multi-million dollar companies that rely on certain elements of our planet that we rely on to naturally keep us safe instead of adapting and finding new safer ways to keep in business. There are so many options out there where they can adapt, but they just refuse to see it because all they care about is money. Climate change is altering so much faster than anyone can really keep track of.

So, in light of all this, it is important to live life to the fullest as much as anyone can.
