Beginning AN: this chapter is set during Christmas of Year 2 and the Polyjuice Potion incident happens in this chapter and I decided to do the reveal of the Basilisk as well.
Chapter 15: Polyjuice Potion Incident
After making Ravenclaw house leave Luna alone Sage, Hermione and Luna go to their lessons.
the first on the agenda was the lesson from Dr. Eggman about the Chao race, followed by the first lesson about the extreme gear, where Hermione was very glad for the practice over summer. But things got really interesting at Halloween. Sage, Hermione, and Luna were returning from Nearly Headless Nick's Deathday Party they had been invited too, when they passed moaning myrtles bathroom and found Mrs. Norris had been petrified. Worse Luna could not see what was causing it, whatever it was its nature meant she could not look at it(a safety measure they would later learn was to stop her from dying upon looking it in the eyes). After the Gryffindor/Slytherin quidditch game a Gryffindor muggleborn had been petrified as well. And since it was the heir of Slytherin involved in the attacks they decided to investigate the Slytherin common room, and was currently about to add the hair before they take the polyjuice potion they made in secret to investigate it without being caught.
just as Hermione is about to finish creating the Polyjuice potion portion for herself the hair from Blaze that got under her fingernails falls in and is mixed in without her knowledge. and so the moment she drinks it it causes a chain reaction that turns her into a Mobian cat similar to Blaze with the main differences being her age staying the way it was before, instead of spiky but neat hair it stays bushy like it was before and her eyes become a mix of her brown and Blaze's gold eyes making them an amber color that leans toward orange.
Sage notices this and takes Hermione and Luna to Dr. Eggman who was in Dumbledore's office alongside the Babylon Rogues telling him that things are going smoothly with their lessons and once Sage, Luna and Hermione correctly guess what candy is the current password they enter the office and Sage says "Houston we have a problem."
Dr. Eggman asks for the rest "what is it?"
Sage, Luna and Hermione tell them what happened and Dr. Eggman says "I'll not only be calling Hermione's parents but also a friendly adversary who can help her adjust to her new form."
Dumbledore says "that's a good idea. who's the friend you'll be calling?" Dr. Eggman says "a Mobian cat named Blaze The Cat."
Jet says "that's a great idea."
and Dr. Eggman brings out a laptop and logs in on Skype to do a conference call with Hermione's parents and Blaze the Cat.
they respond with "Hello Dr. Eggman what is it?"
Dr. Eggman says "something has happened to Hermione."
Blaze asks for all three of them "what has happened?"
Dr. Eggman says "well see for yourselves." and lets Hermione be seen by them.
Blaze says "what the hell you look like you could be my little sister how did that happen?"
Hermione tells them what happened and her parents accept the change and Emma says "it looks like your father and I should adopt Blaze as your older sister while she goes to Hogwarts to help you adjust." and Dan says "I agree and I'll be filing the paperwork for it as soon as this year is over."
Blaze says "I will be happy to accept the adoption." and she finishes her part of the call with "don't worry Hermione I'm on my way." and logs out.
Emma and Dan say "we'll be waiting for you when the year is over and thanks for telling us rather than us finding out through an outside source." and they log out as well.
meanwhile in the Bermuda Triangle
after getting off Skype Blaze grabs a smaller version of her outfit and the Sol Emeralds so she can guard them at all times and puts them in her personal stuff space and heads out to Hogwarts. Shadow sees her about to leave as she was hanging out with him at the time for a friendly chat and he says "what's happened?"
Blaze says "apparently our mutual acquaintance the human girl Hermione Granger just had an accident involving a shape changing potion called Polyjuice Potion and now looks like she could be my little sister."
Shadow says "I'll be happy to help you reach Hogwarts with my Chaos Control."
Blaze says "thanks I'll accept your help and you can act as Sage's bodyguard since there seems to be trouble happening at Hogwarts."
Shadow says "I'll accept the job considering Sage reminds me of Maria due to her gentle nature whenever she's not in a dangerous situation."
Blaze grabs onto Shadow's shoulder and he pulls out the Green Chaos Emerald and focuses on Sage's energy signature and gets a lock and says "Chaos Control." and they teleport to Hogwarts.
Back at Hogwarts
Sage, Luna, Hermione, Dr. Eggman, Dumbledore and the Babylon Rogues are passing the time chatting on what's been going on when Shadow and Blaze appear. Blaze walks up to Hermione and pulls out the outfit from earlier and gives it to her. Hermione goes into Dumbledore's sleeping quarters for some privacy and gets dressed and returns to his office.
while Hermione was getting dressed Sage asks Shadow "Shadow what are you doing here?"
Shadow says "I was hanging out with Blaze when your call came in and I offered to bring her here and she asked me to act as your bodyguard and I accepted."
Dr. Eggman says "that's a good idea. I don't know what's causing this situation to occur but from what we've learned it could be something similar to the legend of Medusa."
Dumbledore says "I've heard of that legend it's said that her most fearsome ability was to turn anyone who looked into her eyes to stone."
as he says this Hermione re-enters the room and hears Sage say "each time an attack has happened I've heard something sounding like a snake in the pipes but what kind of snake has the mystic eyes of petrification?"
Dumbledore and Hermione say "there's only one kind of snake that has that but it can also kill you with direct eyesight while petrifying you with indirect eyesight and that's a Basilisk."
Ending AN: here it is the Polyjuice Potion Incident and credit for Hermione's new look goes to the fanfiction writer called storyreader21 since these recent chapters are a collaboration effort.
Next Time: while studying up on the weaknesses of a Basilisk in the library Hermione gets petrified and Sage, Luna, Blaze and Shadow decide to fight the Basilisk but not before taking Sirius with them. Gilderoy Lockhart does get screen time but is taken out of the picture and the Basilisk and Tom Riddle Jr. the latter who is possessing Ginny Weasley find out firsthand why you don't mess with the fire princess guardian of the Sol Emeralds and the Ultimate Lifeform.
