Part XV 'My Beautiful Angel'
Epilogue
500 Years Later
As the tour group moved through the vast halls of the Louvre, everyone was admiring the stunning works of art. The guide explained the history and significance of each piece, captivating the attention of the gathered crowd. Some members of the group were art enthusiasts, others just casual observers, but everyone was mesmerized by the beauty of the paintings and sculptures on display.
The tour group moved throughout the museum taking in art created from all ages of human history from the distant past up to the present. They passed by sculptures of Greek gods and goddesses, marveling at the intricate details and lifelike poses. They stopped to admire the Mona Lisa, and took holo vids to capture the moment.
As the tour group entered a large room, they couldn't help but gasp at the sight before them. The stunning sculpture towered over them, its intricate details and lifelike form mesmerizing. The guide's words only added to the mystique of the piece, and everyone moved closer to get a better look.
One woman in the group, a young art student, was particularly taken with the sculpture. She stepped forward, her eyes locked on the intricate lines and curves of the piece. As she moved closer, she saw something she hadn't noticed before. There, etched into the base of the sculpture, were the words "My Beautiful Angel"
"Do you know who the subject was?" she asked turning to the tour guide.
The guide shook his head sadly. "No one knows for sure. Pierre was always secretive about who the subject was, but he maintained that this was his most important work. Some say it was a lover, others a muse, but we may never know for certain. We have been fortunate to display Pierre's masterpiece for close to 400 years. It has become as widely known as the Mona Lisa or Michelangelo's David. I'll give you all some time to admire it."
After awhile the tour group moved on to the next exhibit, one person remained behind to admire Pierre's magnificent sculpture. The woman stood there for a while, lost in thought as she gazed upon the statue. She marveled at how lifelike the statue appeared, with a subtle smile on its face that seemed to suggest an unspoken confidence. After awhile the woman took off her sunglasses and Bella looked upon her likeness and smiled. She whispered, "I'm glad all your dreams came true Pierre. Sleep well my friend."
Bella took one last look at the sculpture before quietly leaving the room. As she stepped out into the bright sunlight, she marveled at all that had changed in the world since she had first visited the Louvre. Yet, somehow, the magic of this place remained the same.
She felt Garrett's presence growing stronger and turned to see him walking quickly towards her, a smile on his face. The sun cascading down upon him. "Hey, beautiful," he said, giving her a tight hug.
Bella returned the hug, feeling grateful for all the progress she had made with her shield. She had learned to place a small part of it on others like Garrett permanently, so they too could safely walk in the sunlight without her needing to be present. "What's the news?" she asked.
"Jasper called," Garrett replied. "The whole family is looking forward to seeing us next month."
Bella felt a thrill of excitement at the thought of seeing her family again. She entwined her hand with Garrett's, and they headed off to their next adventure.
Their story never ends...
