CHAPTER 17:
After five weeks of trying to get pregnant, Meg started to wonder if she should take that as a sign. But then on August 1st, she finally got the news she longed for.
"Trevor!" Meg yelled, coming out of the bathroom.
"What is it, babe?" Trevor asked.
"I'm pregnant!" Meg said.
"For real?" Trevor asked.
"Yeah! After five weeks, the test came back positive," Meg confirmed, squealing.
"Meg, this is wonderful news. We got to call everybody," Trevor said.
"Well, let's get started right now," Meg said.
Meg called her mom and Hayley while Trevor called his parents. Meg didn't have to wait long for Hayley to answer, so when Meg told her big news to Hayley, she was very happy for her.
"Oh, my god, Meg; that's amazing!" Hayley exclaimed.
"Thanks, Hayley. Trevor and I are really excited about it," Meg said.
Meg and Trevor were overjoyed about their pregnancy, and were excited for what the future would hold for them.
The next nine months felt rather long for Meg. During that time, Meg asked Hayley and Jeff if they'd be willing to be godparents and they accepted. Around Christmas, it was confirmed that Meg and Trevor were going to have a girl. Then around New Year's, Meg was faced with a complicated choice.
"I don't know, Trevor. I'd love my mom to meet her grandchild, but I don't want our daughter to face the same torture I had to go through," Meg admitted.
"I know you're worried about that, but trust me; I'll be by your side the whole time. I say, when you're ready for your family to meet her, then they will meet her," Trevor assured his wife.
"Thanks, it…really means a lot," Meg said, smiling as the couple shared a kiss.
In the ninth month of her pregnancy, Meg became more anxious by the minute for the baby to come out. And then on May 4th, 2016, the baby was finally born. And three months later, Meg and Trevor were finally ready for her family to meet their little girl.
At the Griffin House,
"Meg, is this your little girl?" Lois asked.
"Yep. Mom, Chris, Stewie, meet our new daughter, Lisa Elizabeth Edwards," Meg said.
The baby cooed as Lois approached her. "She's so adorable. Meg, I'm very proud that you're such a good mother!" she said with joy.
Meg thoroughly enjoyed seeing her mother, now a grandmother, and how well her baby had taken to meeting the rest of her family. Meg's life up until now had been rough to say the least, but since coming to New York, there had been many positive changes for her. She and Trevor welcomed a new life into the world, and both parents were determined to give her a warm and loving family life.
Back in Langley Falls, Roger called Hayley hoping to make amends with Hayley and Jeff by apologizing for that abduction, but Hayley was being a very protective mother and only agreed on the terms that Roger remained 50 feet away from Hayley and her family at all times. In spite of that, both her and Meg went through a lot and were ready to start the next chapter of their lives.
