"Are we there yet?" Makuson asked
"Not even close" Matt replied
"Weve been walking for hours," Makuson complained
"Actually its been about fifteen or twenty minutes," Matt said laughing
"I wish there was something to do," Makuson complained
"well, there is a fishing contest around here, about a miles walk from where we are." Matt said
"Really? then lets get going!" Makuson said in joy. The two then headed off to the fishing tournament. When they finally arrived, they registered to compete in the tournament. After a few minutes, they each chose a fishing rod, got on a boat, and went to catch the biggest pokemon. Once all of the competitors were in their boats,
the announcer started to speak.
"To win the tournament, you have to catch the biggest Seaking, this lake is filled with them. The trainer that catches the biggest fish wins, we compare not by size, but by weight, the winner will recieve two prizes. A ribbon for coming in first place and Sixty-four Chocolate Bars. Second place will recieve a second place ribbon and 20 chocolate bars, and third place will recieve a third place ribbon and 10 chocolate bars. Good luck to you all." the announcer said.
"Ok matt, lets get going I need those chocolate bars." Makuson said starting to paddle away from the shore
"You need them? what, are you gonna die if you dont?" Matt said paddling also
"Pretty much," Makuson replied. When they finally got to the middle of the lake, they started to fish. It has been about thirty minutes and niether Matt or Makuson has a bite. Suddenly Matt's fishing rod started to pull.
"Makuson! I think I got one!" Matt said in joy. He then pulled the lour out of the water and a seaking about twice the size of a normal one appeared.
"Ive gotta catch this one, Go Bulbasaur, Use vinewhip on that seaking!" Matt ordered. Bulbasaur hit seaking with his vine whip and threw a pokeball at it, Matt caught a seaking.
"Hehe, this one will surely win." Matt said
"and what would you do with the chocolate bars if you got them?" Makuson asked
"Oh, i'd probably keep about 10 and send the rest back to my family," Matt said
"WHAT? Now I have to win so I can keep them," Makuson said
"Yea I got a big one!" A girl said from behind their boat. She was sitting in another boat not too far from theirs, her seaking was about the same size as Matt's.
"This one will surely win," The girl said.
"Oh no it wont, Mine will!" Matt argued.
"I Seriously doubt that." the girl argued.
"Grrrr" Matt mumbled
"Hey, who are you anyway?" Makuson asked. The girl had Bright orange hair in a pony tail to the left of her head, blue jean shorts, a yellow shirt with red straps around it, and Blue shoes.
"Im Misty," Misty said
"Wait does that mean..." Matt said
"What does it mean?" Makuson asked
"Makuson, if im not mistaken, Misty is one of the four Cerulean Gym Leaders!" Matt whispered into Makuson's ear.
"Really?" Makuson asked looking at misty confused.
"Im sure of it, she's the fourth sister," Matt said
"Thats great, ill challenge her right now!" Makuson said
"Wait, we cant challenge her now, for one itll ruin the fishing tournament, and two she doesnt have any badges with her," Matt said
"What are you two talking about?" Misty asked
"maybe we shouldnt let her know for now," Matt said
"Why not?" Makuson asked confused at matt's comment.
"Just trust me on this one," Matt said
"Fine," Makuson said
"So what are you talking about?" Misty asked again
"Nothing," Makuson said.
"It didn't look like nothing," Misty said annoyed
"Well It was nothing so stop bothering us," Makuson said
"WHATS THAT?" Misty screamed, she then jumped onto their boat and wacked Makuson in the head with her Mallet.
"Ow..." Makuson said grogily
"Well thats what you get," Matt said
"Ok mister, ill have your burrito's in a minute" Makuson said confused
"He's hopeless," Matt said shrugging
"So are you as annoying as your friend?" Misty asked Matt
"I wouldnt say AS annoying," Matt said scared of her mallet. Soon enough they were all back to fishing, Makuson finally got a bite.
"FINALLY! I GOT SOMETHING!" Makuson yelled, while Matt watched in suspense, Misty was still near them watching. Makuson then pulled the Fish up, it was a seaking.
It was about the same size as Misty's and Matt's
"Perfect Squirtle use Water gun!" Makuson said while calling out squirtle. Squirtle then shot a water gun at the seaking and Makuson threw a pokeball to catch it.
It hit the seaking and Makuson caught it!
"Wow... that looked like almost the same as my seaking," Misty said
"Makuson, that was almost the same as mine, so if we tie I should win since I caught it first," Matt stated
"No way, if we tie we split the winnings." Makuson said. They then got back to the shore along with Misty following them, "And here are the five finalists!" the announcer said
"Nick's is 530!, Matt's is 580!, Carl's is 520!, Makuson's is 579!, and Misty's is 580!" the annoucer said
"NO, Now I wont get as many chocolate bars," Makuson said sadly
"It looks like there is a tie between Misty and Matt." the annoucer announced
"So we battle for it?" Matt asked.
"Afraid not, we cant damage these grounds, so you'll both have to share the winnings," the announcer told them
"Fine with me," Matt said
"I guess," Misty said. The announcer then took the 1st place ribbon, split it in two, and gave Matt and Misty each a half. He also gave Makuson the second place ribbon and Nick the third place ribbon. Misty and Matt each got 32 chocolate bars, Makuson got 20, and Nick got 10.
"Come on Makuson, we should get going to Cerulean City now," Matt said
"sure, lets go" Makuson said
"Wait, your going to cerulean?" Misty asked from behind them
"Yea, thats where we get our next gym badge," Makuson said.
"Well then im coming too, I have to get to Cerulean City anyway," Misty said
"Fine," Makuson and Matt said in unison.
