Chapter 44:

Plumeria's Revenge

Location: Tapu Village

With my spooky trial out the way, it was time to find the Kahuna. But to do that, I would need to head to Po Town, which of course is where Team Skull resides.

"I can't help but feel a tad nervous," I said. "I beat Guzma once, but that's the problem. I don't think he will be too happy to see me again."

"I get that, Roto. But you beat him nonethelezz."

Location: Route 15

I once again reached the Aether House. I just looked at it.

"What is going on with these guys?" I thought.

"Hey!" I heard from inside. "Give that back!"

The doors opened to see a Team Skull Grunt running out. "Hey! You! Roto!" Rotom Dex shouted.

"No time yo!" the Grunt shouted. He got to the beach, put on a pair of armbands and started swimming away.

"Stop!" I shouted. As I tried to run, I felt something grab the back of my shirt.

"You made a real mistake beating Guzma," Plumeria said, pushing me to the ground. She then put her foot down hard on my back to keep me from moving.

"Ergh! Get off me!"

"For your information, Roto, Elliott beat Guzzma fair and square! Z-Ring or no Z-Ring! Zzt zzt!" So let him go!"

Plumeria hesitantly took her foot off me. "What do you want?" I asked.

"I was waiting for you!" she said. "What good will come out of beating Guzma?"

"A lot!" I shouted.

Plumeria clenched her fist. "I'll forgive you if you join us!"

"I'd rather die!" I replied.

"Then your wish will be granted!" Plumeria angrily replied.

Elliott Vs. Team Skull Admin Plumeria

"Golbat, go!" Plumeria shouted.

"And I choose Snorlax!" I replied.

"Use Air Cutter!" Golbat fired streaks of air at Snorlax.

"Come back with Rollout!" Snorlax curled into a ball and rolled into Golbat once.

"Now use Poison Fang!" Golbat sunk its teeth into Snorlax. Of course, thanks to Snorlax's Immunity Ability, there was no fear in getting poisoned.

"Rollout again!" Snorlax rolled into Golbat once again, doing even more damage to it.

"Now Steel Wing!" Golbat's wings turned to metal, and it hit Snorlax with them.

"Finish it!" Snorlax rolled into Golbat once more, knocking it out.

"You… annoy me so much! Salazzle, go!" Whilst Snorlax was doing great, I feel like I had the advantage with another Pokémon.

"Go Slowpoke!" I shouted.

"Salazzle, Nasty Plot!" Salazzle started plotting nasty things as question marks appeared above its head. Its Sp. Attack rose.

"Use Psybeam!" Slowpoke fired a pink beam at Salazzle for lots of damage.

"And now use Venoshock!" Salazzle fired some purple sludge at Slowpoke, almost knocking it out.

"Okay Slowpoke, ready?" I put my hands forward as Slowpoke did the same with its tail. "Salazzle, get ready to be washed away! Hydro Vortex!" The whole area was filled with water which Salazzle got caught in. Then, Slowpoke swam round and round it, creating a maelstrom that Salazzle got bashed around in. The water then burst and Salazzle fell to the floor, fainting.

"No! What is it with you?!"

"That's enough!" I said. "What are you planning now?"

"None of your business!" she said. "I… need to head somewhere!" She ran off back to Tapu Village.

"But Po Town is that way…" I said.

"Elliott! Look! Roto!" Rotom Dex pointed to Slowpoke who was surrounded in a familiar light.

"Here we go!" I shouted.

The glowing surrounded Slowpoke. As it did this, a Shellder popped out of the nearby ocean and bit down on Slowpoke's tail. After that, the glowing died down and Slowpoke now was standing up with a grey Shellder (it looked very different) biting its tail.

Whenever Shellder bites down hard on its tail, it gives Slowbro a flash of inspiration… which it forgets a moment later.

"Alright Slowbro!" I said.

"Help! Help!" A young girl ran out of the Aether House, her face red and puffy. "The Grunt from a few minutes ago!"

"Calm down, calm down," I said. "What happened?"

"He… stole my Yungoos!"

I looked at Rotom Dex. "Then we better head over there."

"It'll take a little while. Roto. And that'zz without interruptionzz!"

"Take your time," she replied. "You can do interruptions if you want to."

"Okay," I said. "We'll get it back, I promise!"

I ran to the beach and summoned Sharpedo to dart across the sea and crushed any rocks in my way. This attracted an aquatic black, white and pink Pokémon with two tails.

When night falls, their pink pattern begins to shine. They're popular with divers, so there are resorts that feed them to keep them close.

"Go Snorlax!" I shouted. Finneon started with Water Pulse. It fired a ball of water at Snorlax. "Now use Giga Impact!" Snorlax charged into Finneon at full pelt, knocking it out.

I continued jetting along. Even the fast Sharpedo though couldn't zoom passed a Trainers eye. A Swimmer saw me.

"WATER you doing?"

"Go Tentacruel!" Jared shouted. He sent out Tentacool's evolved form; similar idea but with lots more tentacles.

Although these Pokémon are rare, when a large outbreak of them occurs, all fish Pokémon disappear from the surrounding sea.

Tentacool -Lv 30- Tentacruel

"And I'm using Slowbro!" I shouted.

"Tentacruel, use Poison Jab!" Tentacruel stabbed Slowbro with a tentacle.

"Come back with Psybeam!" Slowbro shot a pink beam at Tentacruel. Whilst Super Effective, it didn't do that much. "Its Sp. Defense must be high! Come back!" I recalled Slowbro for Toucannon.

"Tentacruel, Poison Jab!" Tentacruel jabbed Toucannon.

"Okay Toucannon!" Toucannon's beak started heating up.

"And another!" Tentacruel jabbed Toucannon but became burned in the process!

"Now! Use Beak Blast!" Toucannon shot power from its beak at Tentacruel. Critical Hit! Tentacruel was down!

"I'm in BUBBLE now!"

After that, I knew I needed to DROWN out those puns.

Last time I'll do that, I'm sorry. I was feeling WAVE.

Okay I'll stop now. That last one didn't even make sense.

Now Grimsley taught me a lot about Sharpedo… but I didn't get the memo too much about stopping.

"Okay Sharpedo that's enough!" I yelled as Sharpedo reached the store and I went flying off.

Location: Route 16

I got up and dusted myself off to find myself just outside a Pokémon Center, a path into a forest and another Aether Base.

"Oh no," I said. My concerns where thankfully sponged when Sina and Dexio came out of the Base.

"Elliott!" Sina said. "We have so much to discuss!"

"Tomorrow though," Dexio replied. "Have a rest at the Pokémon Center first."

"But… the Yungoos…" I said. "Fine. That young girl said interruptions were fine, then I will do it. See you guys tomorrow!"

Power Trick! And with that, I have gone from brief mode to detailed mode! Roto! And that'zz what Power Trick izz about! Zzt zzt! It switchezz Attack and Defenzze statzz! Interezzting strategiezz!

Pokémon that can learn Power Trick include Claydol and, through breeding, Abra and Pineco!

Alzzo whilzzt not part of the Alola Dex, Shuckle can learn it. But don't do that azz tempting azz it izz. Roto.
