I'm finally back to my writing. Made a few changes in the previous chapter so now Saki's new family name is Tomioka. I created brand new people and brand new quirks with canon connections bc why the hell not
Once the light settled, Saki found herself looking at a screen she remembered from the first episode.
"Who is he? The guy has already saved a hundred people at least and it hasn't even been ten minutes. This is… this is crazy. I can't believe it."
A man begins walking out of the crash, his laughter booming.
"Look, he's got more!"
"Fear not, citizens! Help has arrived!" All Might announced in his japanese debut video as he was carrying ten people in his arms and on his back.
"Because I am here!" All Might stated with his signature smile.
"Saki, are you ready? We're going to the doctor." Haruko Tomioka said.
"Ok mommy." A four year old Saki Tomioka said. She got up from her chair to run over to her mom. In a state of surprise, Saki didn't understand how it wasn't her saying that.
'So I'm basically starting off as a preschooler.' Saki thought though a part of her was kind of surprised why she couldn't control her own body. 'This is weird. It feels like what happened in the park.'
'I can tell you why.' Giselle said out of nowhere.
The older Saki gave a shriek of surprise in her own head. How does that even work? 'W-what are you doing here, mom?! How did you even get in here?!'
'Calm down because I'm here too. Did you really think we're the only time spirits in the astral plane?' Aleister snarked. 'Don't answer that because we technically are. We're your guardian angels/parents so you're stuck with us 24/7. Not exactly 24/7 since you'll have your privacy when needed but you get it. Plus Izuku will have four times the spirits minus All Might in his head and you don't see him complaining.'
'How does that even work?' Saki thought before realizing something. 'Wait, parents? You accept me as your daughter, Mr. Sinclair?"
'Of course I do, Saki. I was surprised when you called Giselle 'mom' but I also accept you as my daughter. Plus we forgot to tell you that you won't be able to be in control of your new body until you're twelve or thirteen so sometime before you enroll into Aldera.' Aleister said. 'So you're going to see yourself go through your new life like every child but without the lost causes known as your former parents. Besides, your new parents don't look punchable and trust me, if we were in Japan in your world, we would definitely punch your old ones in the faces to the point where plastic surgery will not help them and take you in as our own.'
'Do you hate my former parents that much?' Saki asked.
'Yep.' Giselle said, popping the p. 'Any woman that hurts and/or turns on their baby girl deserves a place in Hell. Specifically your former mom and Eri's mom.'
'Men who decide to be lecherous also deserve a special place in Hell.' Aleister said.
"Are you excited, sweetie?" Haruko asked.
"Yeah!" Saki said excitedly. "I hope I have a quirk just as cool as yours or Papa's quirk."
Haruko chuckled. "I know."
'So this is your ma, Haruko Tomioka. Her quirk is Matter Manipulation. Any solid matter she touches, she can change the shape of it.' Giselle explained.
'So that's where my quirk comes from.'
'Correct. While hers is an emitter, yours is transformation.' Aleister said.
Once they got to the doctor's office, Haruko went to the front desk. "Good morning, we're here for a quirk doctor appointment. Saki Tomioka."
"Ah yes. Saki Tomioka. Please be seated and a nurse will come to you so you can get the x-ray done."
After the x-ray was done, the mother-daughter duo found themselves in the waiting room again. Haruko took out some coloring pencils and a drawing pad from her bag. "You can draw while we wait for the doctor to call, sweetie."
"Saki Tomioka?" A different nurse in blue scrubs called out. "If you would please follow me." The mother and daughter stood up and followed the nurse after Haruko grabbed the drawing stuff.
"The doctor is ready for you." The nurse gestured to a door which she had stopped next to. "Please enter."
The doctor, a middle aged man with salt and pepper hair in a doctor's coat, stood up and greeted the two with a bow when they entered. "Ah Mrs. Tomioka and young Saki, welcome!" He gestured for the two to sit down in the chairs. "Please sit."
Haruko and little Saki sat on the round chairs, waiting to hear the results of the x-ray. Instead of that, the doctor opened a drawer and began digging around in it for a bit. He pulled out a small tube and a cotton swab. "Now then, let's see what kind of quirk you have, young lady." Haruko looked at the little white stick, then looked back at the doctor.
"I thought that we only had to do the x-ray for Saki."
"Well that's how it was normally done. But now we have two procedures. The first is the x-ray obviously. That shows us if the patient's quirk genome is present. The second is finding out what their quirk genome is."
"Just like that?" Haruko asked in astonishment.
"Just like that."
"That would have made things easier back when I was Saki's age." Haruko said.
The doctor chuckled. "You are not the only parent who has said that. Now I'll simply run the swab along the inside of Saki's cheek a few times and then we can do the test. Is that ok, Mrs. Tomioka?"
Haruko nodded.
"Can you open wide for me, Saki?" The doctor asked.
Little Saki opened her mouth and the doctor put the swab in her mouth, running it along the inside of her cheek. He then put the swab into the tube and vigorously shook it for a moment. He then walked towards what Harukohad assumed to be an industrial sized printer and inserted the tube into a slot, before pushing a few buttons.
While the machine hummed to life and began its work, the doctor sat back in his chair. "Now, do you have any questions while we wait?"
It took a moment before Haruko found one. "How does that work? Like what does it analyze from her spit?"
"Well, first it checks which position your quirk genome is in, if it is active or passive, internal or external." The doctor explained.
"Internal? External? What kind of categorization is that? How does that work? What do you mean by active or passive?" Haruko asked, her head tilting in confusion. Little Saki mimicked her.
'Adorable.' Giselle commented.
"Well, first of all you obviously know that there are three categories of quirks; Emitter, Mutant and Transformation." The doctor said and Haruko nodded. "Well, using those is like saying copper and gold are both metals. They convey the meaning but aren't descriptive."
"There are certain quirks that can be more than one category such as Mutant quirks while allowing the user to emit something. Or Transformation Quirks that mutate the body to function better."
"Like Gang Orca has the body and abilities of an orca whale while producing hypersonic waves?" Haruko asked, quickly picking up on the meaning of both. "My niece can turn into a quadrupedal dragon like my father in law can and she has enhanced physical abilities in her dragon form and still has the enhanced strength and speed in her human form. Though the enhanced strength and speed does run on my husband's side of the family since they are the only two that can turn into dragons."
"Yes! Exactly." The doctor took a marker from his desk and walked over to the whiteboard, making two circles. He then wrote 'Internal' in one and 'External' in the other. He then wrote the word 'quirk' between them and connected both circles with it. "You see, there are more categories than most people think, including Active and passive." He drew four boxes, two beneath each circle and named them 'Active' and Passive'. "These are the states a quirk can be in, of course this doesn't apply to all quirks but that's not important right now. What is important is that there are—" he was lost for words for a moment "—triggers, for the lack of a better word, that exist within a quirk."
He then wrote down Endeavor next to the active box, "Endeavor is the perfect example for an External active quirk. He is able to produce flames outside his body and manipulate them as he wishes." He connected the active square with the number two hero's name as he spoke.
He then moved to the 'Internal' circle, "Next we have Internal active quirks. They are the standard transformation and/or mutation quirks. Transformation quirks are not always the easiest to master but there are most transformation quirks that can be fully mastered like your father-in-law's Kaiju or Edgeshot's Foldabody. Mutant quirks depend "
"An internal passive quirk would be something that only affects the user's body, in rare cases it can affect someone else but not as strong as the user. Its effect wouldn't be noticeable by the user and they would simply think that it's normal."
He then tapped the 'External passive' square, "Someone with this quirk would constantly emit it, similar to a mutant quirk, they would never be able to turn it off. In some cases, they can be turned off by taking suppressants."
The machine began to beep, stopping the doctor from further explanations. "Ah, already? That was fast, usually it takes more than twenty minutes." He looked at the clock, "Oh…" Haruko looked at the clock herself, seeing that over half an hour had passed.
The doctor stood up and retrieved a printed out paper from the machine, before setting it up for further use.
"Let's see," The doctor murmured, reading the printout even as he walked back to his desk. He hummed a few times and then flipped the page, only to hum a bit more. "Interesting," He finally commented.
"What do you mean by that? Shouldn't it tell what her quirk is?" Haruko asked in confusion.
The doctor made a so-so gesture with his free hand, "It's not just a clean cut about it. But usually it does tell what it is, yet it appears that her quirk is still manifesting."
"Say that again." Haruko said.
The doctor ignored her and put a hand to his chin, eyes slowly going over the words. "Yes, it appears that it is still manifesting." He put the paper down, taking a deep breath before letting it out slowly. "I will make it short. Saki has a physical quirk, categorized as Internal, External and transformation. Here is what we know so far of her quirk."
Haruko took the papers from the doctor's offering hand and read through it herself. Little Saki looked at the papers even though she could barely read.
'So adorable,' Giselle said.

"All of these point to my husband or his family's inherited abilities minus the durability."
'If only she knew.' Giselle said.
'Is this what you meant when you said that the physical attribute boosts are an extra gift, dad?'
'Yes I did.'
"Does that mean I'm going to have a quirk like papa?" Little Saki asked.
"It appears so, my blossom." Haruko said.
"Since her quirk is still manifesting, I'll just write that down in the description." The doctor said and took the papers back, using a pen, he wrote that exact line in the description. He then handed the papers back to the mother. "Any other questions?"
"No, I have no other questions." Haruko admitted, putting the papers in her bag.
"Well then, I'll see you out." The doctor said and stood up as well as the mother and daughter.
Once the three left the room, Haruko and Saki walked out toward the entrance. "Have a good rest of your day, Mrs. Tomioka and young Saki." The doctor said, waving goodbye to the two of them.
"Say goodbye to the doctor, Saki." Haruko said.
Little Saki waved to the doctor. "Bye bye."
The nurses cooed at the cuteness.
Haruko looked as if she had a deadline to complete a large amount of support item commissions by midnight.. which only happened once. But the cause of her duress this time was not a deadline but the idea of a draconian preschooler. She remembered when she had to babysit Ryuko for Mizuki and Horimono.
The day went uneventful since it was a weekend. Haruko made lunch and dinner for her and little Saki. She called her husband to ask if she should prepare a plate for him. He declined saying that he will eat at the dojo between classes since it's a long trip from the dojo to their home. While little Saki was watching one of her favorite movies for the night, Haruko went through the hero costume request forms for the upcoming hero students. From chicken scratch handwriting to incomplete requests, it was just another day working for a design agency.
"I'm home." Ryuto Tomioka called out.
'Ryuto Tomioka. His quirk, Steel Claws. He can manipulate his fingers to turn into steel claws. He even has draconian strength and speed inherited from his father's side." Aleister announced.
'Present Mic wannabe.' Giselle joked.
"Papa!" Little Saki shouted from the living room, running up to her dad.
Ryuto picked little Saki up in his strong arms and hugged her, kissing her on the forehead. "How's my little blossom?" The 31 year old asked and bopped his daughter on the nose, getting her to giggle. She wrapped her arms around him as best as she could.
Haruko smiled at her husband and gave him a kiss on the lips.
"Ew." Little Saki said, making her parents chuckle. She then went back to her movie.
"How was the doctor's visit?"
"It was interesting to say the most." Haruko grabbed the doctor's papers from the table and gave it to Ryuto. He looked through it before looking back at his wife.
"What's this?"
"Their new procedure in finding out a person's quirk genome."
"Her quirk is still manifesting?" Ryuto asked in confusion. "But Ryuko manifested her dragon wings at two and a half."
Before Haruko could say anything, little Saki said something that got their attention. "Mommy, Papa look! I'm the table now."
Haruko and Ryuto looked in little Sakir's direction and blinked when they saw she was right. From head to toe, their daughter's skin was brown even her hair which wasn't its usual natural brown color. What stood out were the black slit pupils in her cerulean eyes against her now brown sclera.
'Great. I'm a female Kamui Woods.' Saki said sarcastically.
'Pfft.' Giselle spit out her drink while Aleister chuckled.
"Saki has a variation of my quirk that ended up being a transformation quirk," Haruko pointed out in surprise. "But I wonder which part of it she will be able to manipulate."
"It appears that her skin is manipulated by what she touches."
"But her skin is not changing shape like my quirk does when I touch something."
"Perhaps that's what the doctor meant when he said that her quirk is still manifesting."
In a few seconds, little Saki's quirk turned off and before she collapsed to the floor, Ryuto rushed towards her and caught her.
'And she's out for the night,' Giselle commented.
"Saki!" Haruko exclaimed in worry.
Ryuto checked her pulse. "Don't worry. She's asleep. But it looks like her quirk uses up her stamina." Haruko took a breath of relief.
"I'll go put her in her bed." Ryuto said and walked out of the living room to little Saki's room.
"Slit pupils, enhanced senses, increased speed and strength. Don't tell me that she will get sharp teeth next." Haruko said once Ryuto came back into the room and sat back down, putting her foot on his lap and he started massaging it on instinct.
"Haha, very funny, Haru." Ryuto snarked.
"No, it's very not funny, Ryu. In case you forget, you mark me." Haruko said, poking the man's chest. "Think of when she'll get a partner. The constant teasing in school because she lets her dragon instincts get the best of her."
"Oh hush. We have yet to see if she gets any other abilities or instincts from my side." Ryuto said as he looked at his wife's neck. "The mark does look like it's fading. I think it's time to fix that." He made a biting motion at Haruko.
Haruko let out a small yelp of surprise. She smacked her husband on the arm. "Ryu. Saki could wake up again."
"She's a four year old who had her energy drained from the use of her quirk. I doubt she'll be awake till morning." Ryuto retorted. "Plus I'll give you that massage you like."
Haruko groaned and bumped her head against his shoulder, getting a chuckle from him while he ran his hand through her hair. "You are lucky that you give good massages."
"Of course I do." Ryuto said with a sharp toothed grin.
Meanwhile in her room, while her smaller counterpart was sleeping soundly surrounded by her stuffed animals, Saki was stuck in her internal parents' house not knowing what to do since she couldn't hear or see her other parents. 'So now what?'
'Now we're going to teach you how to speak and read in ten different languages.' Giselle said with a grin.
Saki looked at her before shaking her head. 'Don't wanna.'
Giselle giggled. 'Just kidding. We're going to teach you English and French though.'
Ryuto and Haruko made an appointment with a quirk counselor. The good news is that little Saki's quirk is not a constantly active five point touch quirk. The bad news was that it uses up her stamina like Ryuto had guessed. They were given a small training regime by the counselor. They registered the quirk as 'Absorption'.
Ryuto decided to teach Saki about discrimination before he had her train at his dojo when she turned six. In no shape or form would he have his daughter be a quirkist or think she's better than another person. After all, the students in his dojo trained quirkless. Whoever couldn't abide by that one rule was kicked out and their entrance fee was sent to the charity that his father started.
Once she turned six, Saki started training at the dojo. Since she said she wanted to be a hero, Ryuto would teach her to fight with expertise and not like some flashy showboater.
Ryuto's parents, Akemi and Meiyo Tomioka, always came by to visit. Meiyo always told Saki the stories of his time, when he was a pro hero. That he never cared about being popular as long as he was protecting people. He also told her that he never held it against anyone that was scared of his dragon form when he used his Kaiju quirk. He even told Saki that Ryuto was surprised seeing his dad's quirk for the first time, to the embarrassment of the martial artist. For her birthday, Meiyo gave her one of his claws which was coated in steel, in the form of a necklace.
Unfortunately life was not always full of happy moments. Akemi Tomioka died at the age of eighty two. When they got the call, Haruko was the one to pick it up and when she heard the news, she collapsed in tears. Ryuto followed when he found out.
Of course Saki didn't understand. All she knew was that she had to say goodbye to grandma Akemi.
'And.. I… Am... Iron Man…'
Saki, Giselle and Aleister were sitting down for movie night and watching the final movie in the MCU movie marathon that they had been watching.
Giselle placed a hand on Saki's shoulder and handed her some tissues knowing she was going to start crying. "Trust me. I cried really hard the first time we saw it."
'We won.. Mr. Stark.' Peter said in a shaky voice. 'We won, Mr. Stark.'
Saki began to tear up at that scene, the emotion getting to her. She blew her nose into the tissues. "No..."
'It's ok, sweetie. Just let it out.' Giselle comforted Saki as she continued to cry over the scene.
It was a day nobody in the Tomioka clan expected once again.
Ryuto got a call and walked out of the kitchen to take it.
Haruko heard something fall in the living room. She turned off the stove and went to go see what it was. Ryuto was standing in place, his phone on the floor.
"Ryuto? What happened?" Haruko asked in worry. She knew something was wrong when she saw the look on his face. It was a look she hasn't seen since mama Akemi passed.
"Father.. father passed away." Ryuto uttered out.
Haruko faltered in her step, looking wide-eyed at her husband. "What?"
"Tatsuya called. He woke up and went to check on father. When he went to the room, he knocked on the door and he didn't respond. So when he didn't respond after a few minutes, he went inside and father was laying on the bed, unresponsive."
"I'm so sorry." Haruko said as she hugged her husband with tears in her eyes. Ryuto started to cry in her arms.
The parents decided to wait for the weekend to tell Saki. Haruko decided to be the one to tell her the news.
"Saki, do you remember when we had to say goodbye to grandma Akemi when you were six?"
"Yes mommy."
"Well now we have to say goodbye to grandpa Meiyo."
Saki walked over to Ryuto and what happened next surprised the parents. She hugged him and said something that was mature for her age. "I'll miss him too, papa. I'll think of him when I touch his claw to use Absorption."
Ryuto hugged Saki as tears fell from his eyes. "I know, Saki." Haruko joined the hug.
The Tomioka clan held a private funeral in Kyoto for the first dragon transformation user in quirk history.
Eight year old Saki ran up to her favorite cousin, Ryuko Tatsuma. "Big sis Ryu."
'Ryukyu is my cousin? That's unexpected.' Saki said.
'Don't tell me you forgot your ma mentioning to the doctor that her niece has the same transforming ability like your grandpa.'
'Oh right.' Saki said.
"Saki chan." Ryuko hugged her favorite cousin, since she was too big to carry in her arm like she once did. "You're getting so big."
"One day I'm going to be as big and strong as you. Just watch." Saki said.
Ryuko smiled. "I hope so too."
A few pro heroes including most of the Top Ten came to the funeral. They offered their condolences to the mourning family. Though it was a funeral, Saki and Ryuko looked up at All Might in awe, not being able to believe that the number one hero of the world was standing in front of them.
Since Haruko knew that her husband was not going to be able to teach for a while, she called a family friend to take over his classes until he was ready to go back.
Saki being the only one knowing that her papa won't be able to teach was wondering who would teach them.
When Saki's class walked into the dojo, there were two people. A man and a girl in matching white gis. The man looked tall and lean with orange spiky hair and brown eyes. The girl has bluish-green eyes and long orange hair that she wore tied into a high ponytail on the left side of her head. Her bangs were also split into three clumps around her eyes, and some of her hair stuck up in large tufts at the top of her head almost like spikes.
The man bowed to the class. "Good afternoon. My name is Ichigo Kendo. I will be your sensei from today."
'Kendo?' Saki asked in surprise. 'As in Itsuka Kendo?'
'I have no idea.' Aleister admitted. 'But the girl does look like a younger version of her.'
One of the girls in the class raised her hand. Ichigo nodded his head to her. "What happened to Ryuto sensei?"
"Ryuto sensei's father passed away so he will be taking a break from teaching. Do not worry, I am sure that when he is feeling better, he will be teaching you again."
"This is my daughter, Itsuka Kendo. She will be joining your class." Ichigo said as he introduced the girl next to him.
'Well there's your answer.' Giselle said.
"Now then, let's get started."
After class was over for the day, the other students offered their condolences to Saki since her grandfather passed away.
"I'm still sad and I know papa feels worse. First my grandma, now my grandpa."
"It's normal to feel sad when someone in your family passes away, Saki chan." Ichigo said, walking up to the class.
"Do you know anyone that passed away, sensei?" Another student asked.
Ichigo nodded. "My grandfather passed away when I was a teenager."
While Itsuka made friends with the other students at the dojo, she connected with Saki due to their interest in becoming heroes. Plus they were in the same school but different classes.
"So I never got to ask but do you know how long until your quirk finishes manifesting or however that works?" Eleven year old Itsuka asked in Saki's room. The two were working on their homework.
"Papa said my enhanced senses and physical abilities will get stronger when I reach middle school and my strength and speed will fully manifest somewhere around my early twenties." A ten year old Saki said.
"So am I going to be sent to the hospital any time soon?" Itsuka joked. "Or are we both going to the hospital?"
Saki pushed Itsuka. "Oh shut up."
The two girls joked around while they finished their homework.
Meanwhile in the living room.
"So it's final?" Haruko asked.
"Yeah. Final." Ryuto said.
"How do you think Saki is going to react?"
"Fifty percent chance that she won't like it and the other fifty that she will accept it."
I had trouble writing this one because I didn't know to write from a por of someone who lost their family member. So I apologize if it seems too insensitive.
