At night on a rooftop, Sunshine Trooper, whose head is shaped like a sun and holds a large magnifying glass-like staff, walks to the edge, overlooking the city.
"An entire city, sleeping so peacefully," Sunshine Trooper holds out his staff, waving it slightly. "And soon, in a few short hours, I will have the entire city, nay, the entire world, in the palm of my hands."
Sunshine Trooper starts to laugh.
"Hot Times"
Rosy enters the Ranger Lab, carrying a robotic teddy bear in one arm, miming a yawn, when she notices Jill at a computer.
"Jill?" Rosy approaches her. "What are you doing?"
"Oh," Jill presses a button, turning off the computer's screen, and turns to face her. "I was having trouble sleeping." Rosy tilts her head slightly. "What about you? Why aren't you charging?"
"I kept on thinking about what's going on lately," Rosy lowers her robotic teddy bear. "Especially with that Gold Ranger."
"Everything's gonna be fine, Rosy," Jill approaches her. "Now, you really should go and finish recharging." She starts to walk past Rosy. "As for me, I'm going back to bed. Good night."
"Night," Rosy watches as Jill leaves the room, before pressing a button, turning the computer back on and revealing a still image of Gold Mechanaut Ranger, with scrolls of text on either side. "Everything's fine…"
The next day, the unmorphed Rangers are entering the Ranger Lab, with Flaxen stretching his arms.
"So, does anyone have any plans today?" Vermili asks.
Rosy stops walking, as she watches Jill, then walks over to her, "Say, Jill, how about going out, getting some sun."
"That's nice, Rosy, but there's something I want to work on," Jill says.
"Is there an impression 'all work and no play' or something like that," Rosy says, as Jill glances at her. "C'mon, it would be a nice change of pace. And better than being in a dull lab all day." She turns to Beta, on his perch. "No offense, Beta."
"None taken," Beta responds.
"So what do you say?" Rosy turns back to Jill.
Jill sighs, "Okay, fine, it could be nice."
"Great," Rosy turns to the others. "Anyone else wanted to come."
"Sure thing," Vermili says.
"I got nothing else to do," Flaxen adds.
"Actually, there's something I wanted to work on," Azure says.
"Maybe next time then," Rosy says, as she takes Jill's arm and leads her to the exit, with Vermili and Flaxen behind them.
"Wait, why is it okay for Azure to stay?" Jill asks, as they leave.
Rosy, Jill, Vermili, and Flaxen are approaching a fair.
"A fair?" Vermili asks.
"The perfect day-off spot," Rosy announces.
Each of the unmorphed Rangers ride a bump car, with Vermili and Flaxen keeping on bumping into each other. Rosy and Jill laugh at their friends.
The unmorphed Rangers ride a rollercoaster, with Vermili miming motion sickness.
The unmorphed Rangers fire water guns at targets, filling up balloons, until Rosy's balloons burst. Rosy starts to cheer when she notices Jill is looking at her water gun, which had a gold plating on top, lost in thought.
At the Ranger Lab, Azure is typing at a computer, completely focused on it.
"Azure, what are you working on anyway?" Beta asks, from his perch.
"Oh, hum, nothing, nothing at all," Azure waves a hand.
"Huh…" Beta says.
"Really, it's nothing," Azure adds.
"No, not that," Beta says. "It's the Ranger Lab's inner temperatures. It's rising. To very dangerous levels."
"The inner temperatures?" Azure tilts his head. "What could be going on?"
The four unmorphed Rangers are walking through the fair.
"Hey, about some cotton candy?" Flaxen suggests.
"Flaxen, we're robots, we don't eat," Vermili reminds him.
"I meant for Jill," Flaxen says, pointing ahead. "And it looks like they have these cool gold flakes…"
"Hey, about another go at the rollercoaster?" Rosy quickly interrupts. "You seemed to really love that triple loop-de-loop."
"I didn't," Vermili holds his head.
"Okay, Rosy, what's going on with you?" Jill asks, as the group stops walking.
"W-What do you mean?" Rosy asks.
"Rushing me outside, insisting on trying every ride or game twice…" Jill says, before sighing. "Just tell me, what's wrong?"
"I-I'm aware of how concerned you have been about the Gold Ranger," Rosy admits. "I just want to get your mind off him."
"I don't think I've been that concerned…" Jill says.
"Oh you have, almost obsessively so," Flaxen adds.
"C'mon, Flaxen, let's check out the ice cream stand," Vermili takes Flaxen's arm and starts to pull him away.
"I thought we don't eat," Flaxen says, as they walk away.
Jill smiles slightly, before turning to Rosy, "I promise you, Rosy, I'm okay. Really."
Rosy looks at Jill.
"Hey, mom!"
Jill and Rosy turn to a little girl, standing next to her mom, as she holds an ice cream cone.
"My ice cream's melting," the girl complains, as the ice cream melts away in an instant.
"What's going on here?!" the man behind the ice cream stand calls out, as all the ice cream quickly melts away into puddles, with Vermili and Flaxen watching.
"You can still sell milk," Flaxen jokes.
"What's going on here?" Vermili asks.
Jill wipes sweat off her forehead with her hand, "And why is it so hot?"
In the Shift Megaship's cockpit, the mystery person enters, with Mini-R and Mini-B floating behind him.
"Nothing," the mystery person says, upset. "Not a single thing on Earth's moon."
"To be fair, there has been nearly two decades since there was any activity on Earth's moon," Mini-R says.
The mystery person approaches the podium, "It was a longshot." He inserts his Steer Morpher into the podium, grabbing the wheel. "Let's return to Earth for now…" He looks ahead. "Wait, what's this?!"
Shift Megaship floats next to Earth, in space, with four suns around the planet.
"Four suns?"
At the Ranger Lab, a news report is playing on a computer screen.
"Here in Australia," the female reporter starts. "It had been daytime for the past couple hours, even though at this time of the day, it's supposed to be night."
At the same time, Azure sets up the last of several large fans situated around the room, "There. That should keep all the equipment cool." He stands in front of the last fan. "Including me."
"This is unreal," Beta says, from his perch. "According to NASADA satellites, the planet is surrounded by four suns, making it daytime all over the world. While also increasing the planet's temperatures to dangerous levels.
"How dangerous?" Jill holds up her communicator.
"I estimated that it will take just two hours for the polar ice caps to melt to a point that it could start flooding cities," Beta says, from the communicator.
"This has to be a new monster," Jill says, before turning. "Beta, you need to find it, fast."
"Already on it," Beta reports.
Jill watches Vermili and Flaxen waving small towels at a couple people as they sit down from the heat. She then notices Rosy sitting off to the side, by herself.
Jill approaches her and knees down to her, "Rosy, what's wrong. You know, beyond the obvious heatwave."
"When I realized you were worrying about the Gold Ranger, it's then I realized you hadn't really had a chance to have fun, or just live your life since becoming a Ranger," Rosy explains. "It'd just be fight this or worry about that. I wanted to give you one day of fun."
"You're right," Jill says, with a slight nod. "I hadn't noticed, but I guess I was becoming kinda obsessed." She places a hand on Rosy's shoulder, causing her to look at her. "Thanks for your concern, Rosy. And I promise, I will try to relax some more."
Rosy nods her head.
"Jill, I found the monster's location," Beta says, from the communicator.
"Okay," Jill holds up her communicator. "Azure, meet us there."
Jill stands up, holds out a hand to help Rosy to her feet, before they both nod and run off, with Vermili and Flaxen behind them.
Sunshine Trooper stands on the edge of the roof, watching the sun high in the sky, "Aha! The power of the sun is a wonderful thing!
Suddenly, Sunshine Trooper is blasted, causing him to fall off the ground and land on the ground. He pushes himself up to see the mystery person standing several feet away, holding his Steer Morpher.
"What do you want?" Sunshine Trooper asks.
"To blow off some steam," the mystery person places a Ranger Gear on his Steer Morpher, then turns the wheel.
"Super Megaforce!"
"Get into High Gear!" he fires his Morpher, he glows with gold energy, morphing into Gold Mechanaut Ranger, then charges ahead.
Sunshine Trooper holds out his staff and charges, strikes with it, with Gold Mechanaut Ranger ducks under the attack, before he turns and hops over a low strike with the staff. Gold Mechanaut Ranger grabs a staff stab, swings it over his head, then spins around, knocking Sunshine Trooper back against a wall. Gold Mechanaut Ranger then charges, kicks at the wall, which Sunshine Trooper dodges, before he launches into a spin kick. Sunshine Trooper then swings his staff, but Gold Mechanaut Ranger catches it and pushes him back.
Sunshine Trooper swings his staff again, with the Ranger blocking it, "Sun in her eyes."
Sunshine Trooper turns the staff slightly, so the glass end catches the sun. Gold Mechanaut Ranger knocks the staff slightly, so the staff's glass laser hits the ground, before he spins around, keeping the laser hitting the ground.
Gold Mechanaut Ranger backs up, before charging ahead, as the five unmorphed Rangers turn a corner.
"Whoa, is Goldie fighting to protect Earth?" Flaxen asks.
Gold Mechanaut Ranger tabs the side of his Steer Morpher against Sunshine Trooper's elbow and knee, with an image of the Morpher's wheel appearing for a moment. He then dodges a staff strike, before tabs the Morpher against Sunshine Trooper's back, with an image of the wheel appearing for a moment. He then tabs his knee and head, before jumping and flipping backward, dodging a low staff strike and lands on a car's roof.
"Steer Target Blast!" Gold Mechanaut Ranger fires his Morpher, with the blast multiplied and flies around Sunshine Trooper.
"Hey, what's going on?!" Sunshine Trooper complains, as the wheel images reappeared and each blasts hit the images one at a time.
"My attack zero in on anything my Steer Targets marked," Gold Mechanaut Ranger holds up his Morpher, before jumping up.
Gold Mechanaut Ranger lands, then opens his Gear Buckle and pulls out a Ranger Gear. He inserts it in his Steer Morpher, before starting to turn the wheel.
"Samurai."
"Go Go Samurai Mode!"
"Gold Ranger Samurai Mode, ready!"
Gold Mechanaut Ranger flips the blade out on his Morpher, then starts to walk forward.
"No you don't," Sunshine Trooper points ahead. "Robo-Troopers!"
Several Robo-Troopers charge past Sunshine Trooper.
Gold Mechanaut Ranger runs ahead. He strikes three passing Robo-Troopers, before blocking Sunshine Trooper's staff, then knocks him away, and turns to another Robo-Trooper.
"C'mon, let's get in there," Vermili says.
"It's Morphin' Time!" Jill calls out, before the five unmorphed Rangers insert Ranger Gears into their Hawk Blasters and turn the cranks.
"Mystic Force!"
"Get into High Gear!" They fire their Hawk Blasters.
Jill morphs into White Mechanaut Ranger. Rosy morphs into Pink Mechanaut Ranger. Vermili morphs into Red Mechanaut Ranger. Flaxen morphs into Yellow Mechanaut Ranger. Azure morphs into Blue Mechanaut Ranger.
The five Mechanaut Rangers stand side by side, before charging.
Red Mechanaut Ranger blocks a Robo-Trooper's staff with his Dino Power Shield, before using it to swing the staff over his head and then strikes the Robo-Trooper with his Dino Power Sword. He then turns and strikes another Robo-Trooper, before roundhouse kicks a third.
A couple Robo-Trooper fires their staffs at Pink Mechanaut Ranger, as she runs at them. She then jumps up, kicks one Robo-Trooper, spins, striking another with her Mystic Magi Staff, before stabbing her staff forward, knocking a third Robo-Trooper off its feet.
Blue Mechanaut Ranger strikes with his Drive Defender Axe, before going into a spin, striking a Robo-Trooper, as two more back up to avoid it. He stops spinning, with the two Robo-Troopers behind him, before he turns, sees them, and uses his axe to block their staffs. He manages to push them off, strikes one, dodges the other's staff strike and strikes it in the back.
Yellow Mechanaut Ranger jumps ahead with his Wild Lion Claw, striking a Robo-Trooper as he lands. He then uses his claw to block two Robo-Troopers' staffs, with them forcing him backward. He manages to force them off, spins around, kicking both Robo-Troopers, before striking them with his claw.
White Mechanaut Rangers fires her Hawk Blaster, dodges a Robo-Trooper's staff, then grabs the staff. She sidekicks the Robo-Trooper, pulling the staff free and strikes it with the staff, before tossing it at a charging Robo-Trooper. She then holds up her blaster and jumps to the side, blasting a couple Robo-Troopers as she does so.
Gold Mechanaut Ranger turns to Sunshine Trooper, blocking his staff, as a couple Robo-Troopers charge away.
Red and Blue Mechanaut Rangers hold up their weapons to block a couple Robo-Troopers' staffs.
Pink Mechanaut Ranger spins away from a Robo-Trooper, as she holds a hand to the side of her helmet.
"Rangers, the temperatures continue to increase, I think we're running out of time faster than originally estimated," Beta reports.
Pink Mechanaut Ranger lowers her hand, "We need to end this."
Gold Mechanaut Ranger strikes a Robo-Trooper a couple times, turns and strikes another, before three Robo-Troopers, surging with electricity, fall down. He then turns to Sunshine Trooper.
"I'm not ready for dusk just yet," Sunshine Trooper says.
"Guess again," Gold Mechanaut Ranger removes one hand from his weapon and to his Gear Buckle, opening it to remove a Ranger Gear.
He flips the blade back, then adds the Ranger Gear to his Steer Morpher. He starts to spin the wheel.
"Zeo."
"Oh no you don't," Sunshine Trooper holds out his staff and charges.
Gold Mechanaut Ranger uses one hand to block two staff strikes, then tabs it with his Steer Morpher, before swinging around the staff and holding it down, then tabs Sunshine Trooper's head with his Morpher. Sunshine Trooper tries to pull his staff free, but Gold Mechanaut Ranger keeps his hold on it, before holding it back and tabs the monster's abdomen with his Morpher. Gold Mechanaut Ranger then twirls the now free staff in his hand and throws it to the side. Sunshine Trooper backs up, as Gold Mechanaut Ranger fires his Morpher up, "Go Zeo Mode!"
Sunshine Trooper looks ahead, "Oh, I have a bad feeling about this."
"Gold Ranger Zeo Mode, ready!" Gold Mechanaut Ranger holds up an arm, before looking ahead in a fighting position.
"As the expression goes, you don't know the half of it," Gold Mechanaut Ranger says.
Gold Mechanaut Ranger rushes ahead and launches a jump kick, which Sunshine Trooper dodges, as he kicks a car. He then launches a roundhouse kick, which Sunshine Trooper ducks under. Sunshine Trooper then starts to back up, as Gold Mechanaut Ranger launches a punch, an arm strike, which hits the car, spins with another arm strike, hitting the car again.
"Here, let me get this for you," Sunshine Trooper pulls open the car's driver door.
Gold Mechanaut Ranger performs a sidekick, hitting the car door, knocking it off its hinges, and sending it and Sunshine Trooper flying backward.
"Okay, I felt that," Sunshine Trooper, on the ground, looks up.
"You'll feel this," Gold Mechanaut Ranger spins the wheel on his Steer Morpher.
A large outline of a pyramid surrounds Sunshine Trooper, as Gold Mechanaut Ranger lowers his arms, with a glowing blue disc appearing before him, "Zeo Power Punch!" He punches into the disc, with a giant version of his fist coming out of a similar disc above Sunshine Trooper, slamming down on Sunshine Trooper, who is consumed in a large explosion.
Gold Mechanaut Ranger stands straight, lowering his arms, as he glows blue.
A Gear falls onto the ground, surging with electricity.
Gold Mechanaut Ranger had returned to normal, "I feel slightly better now."
The sky immediately becomes dark, as White Mechanaut Ranger spins around a Robo-Trooper, then punches it away and looks up, "The sky turned dark?"
"With Sunshine Trooper's gone, the duplicate suns had disappeared," Blue Mechanaut Ranger looks up. "It must've become night time."
"Either way, I'm gone," Gold Mechanaut Ranger starts to turn away, before turning back and looking up. "Huh?!"
A Mecha-Trooper is surrounded with smoke, before a wave of energy spreads out, and dozens of suns rise up from the horizon.
Sunshine Mecha, with Sunshine Trooper's head and holding his staff, "Sunshine Mecha, online!"
"That's too bright," Pink Mechanaut Ranger backs up, as she tries to shield her eyes with an arm from the bright sky, to Blue and White Mechanaut Rangers.
"Then let's shutdown this overgrown lamp," White Mechanaut Ranger holds up her Hawk Blaster.
"Make us grow!"
"Dragon Mystic Zord, Ready!"
"Dump Driver Zord, Ready!"
"Let's combine!"
"MysticDrive Split Megazord, ready!"
"Okay, Rosy, you're up," White Mechanaut Ranger says.
MysticDrive Split Megazord steps forward, before holding up its staff, as Pink Mechanaut Ranger says, "It looks cloudy, with a chance of butt kicking."
The staff glows, before shooting smoke, covering the sky in it, blocking the suns.
"Solar Operation interfered," Sunshine Mecha starts. "Begin countermeasures at once." Sunshine Mecha holds the glass of its staff up to its head. "Solar Flare attack, commences."
A bright light emerges from the glass, forcing MysticDrive Split Megazord to hold up it's free hand, trying to shield its face.
White Mechanaut Ranger holds up her hands, trying to shield her helmeted face, "Argh! I can't see anything."
Sunshine Mecha strikes MysticDrive Split Megazord with its staff a couple times.
White Mechanaut Ranger continues to try and cover her helmeted face.
"At this rate, our optics could overload," Blue Mechanaut Ranger says.
"There's gotta be a way to block this," White Mechanaut Ranger says.
"I think I have just the solution," Pink Mechanaut Ranger responds.
MysticDrive Split Megazord holds its staff in front of its head. There's a bright glow, when it spins around and strikes Sunshine Mecha with its staff.
Sunshine Mechan is forced back, "This doesn't compute. Scanning…" It turns to the Megazord. "Detect visual obstruction."
MysticDrive Split Megazord is wearing pink sunglasses, as Pink Mechanaut Ranger says, "Always wear protective eyeglasses."
"Good job, Rosy," White Mechanaut Ranger lowered her arms. "Now, let's try the spin cycle."
MysticDrive Split Megazord starts to spin, creating a huge cycle, causing Sunshine Mecha to have trouble staying still, before it is sent flying backward.
Sunshine Mecha, without its staff, falls onto the ground, with MysticDrive Split Megazord stops spinning.
White Mechanaut Ranger holds up her hand. "Mecha Blade!"
The Mecha Blade appears in her hand, before she holds it down.
White Mechanaut Ranger then swings the Mecha Blade, "Axe Triple Slash!"
MysticDrive Split Megazord brings down its axe, striking Sunshine Mecha, who had returned to its feet, three times.
"Overload! Overload!" Sunshine Mecha surges with electricity before falling down in a large explosion.
MysticDrive Split Megazord turns away.
The sky turns dark again, as the Megazord lowers its arms.
Gold Mechanaut Ranger looks up, before he starts to turn. Red and Yellow Mechanaut Ranger stand out several feet behind him.
"Hey, Goldie, why did you protect the planet?" Yellow Mechanaut Ranger asks.
Gold Mechanaut Ranger looks over his shoulder, "My reasons are my own."
Gold Mechanaut Ranger then looks back ahead, and jumps up, with Red and Yellow Mechanaut Rangers watching.
"'My reasons are my own', unbelievable," Red Mechanaut Ranger says.
Later at the Ranger Lab, the five unmorphed Rangers are starting to pull away the large fans.
Jill is wrapping a fan's cord, "You know, I was thinking. We should go to the park tomorrow."
"The park? That sounds like fun," Rosy is pushing a fan past Jill.
"Yeah, it's supposed to be a sunny day tomorrow…" Jill says.
A record needle scratch sound is heard coming from Beta, on his perch, with the other unmorphed Rangers looking at him, before they look at Jill.
"On the other hand…" Jill gets nervous. "There's nothing wrong about staying in and watching TV."
After a short pause, the group starts to laugh.
