Author's Note: This chapter is almost entirely inspired by a story that Outsiders Obsessor wrote. I liked in, but I can't take credit for this, so I give them full credit, and a shoutout.
As Puss and Kitty rode the horse along the desert, the sand began to trail behind them. Puss rode to the location he had picked for their honeymoon, whilst Kitty still had a lingering suspicion as to where they were going.
Kitty: "Where exactly are we going, mi amor?"-asked Kitty, suspiciously
Puss: "For the eleventh time, mi ángel, it's a surprise."-Puss reminded-"Just be patient, I promise it is good."
Kitty: "Can I at least get a hint?"-asked Kitty, fed up
Puss: "Okay, it is a place very special to us both."
Tue horse rode along the sands yet again, whilst the sun was setting, and the two were getting tired. About an hour or so later, they arrived in a small down, getting down from the horse, and tying it to a post. As Kitty got down, Puss placed his paws over her eyes, and turned her towards the location.
Kitty: "Puss, what is this?"-asked Kitty, worrying
Puss: "We're almost there, mi amor."-Puss whispered, gently-"Now, no peeking."
Puss in Boots led his wife in a certain direction, almost finished with his surprise. As the two walked through a door, Puss removed his paws, and Kitty had opened her eyes as he did, a shocked expression plastered on her face.
Kitty: "Is this..."
Puss: "Śi, Dear, it is El Hotel del Toro."-Puss revealed-"Where we first met."
Kitty quickly lunged herself into her husband's arms, before dragging him up to the front desk. They stopped as the innkeeper looked them down, and set his arms on the desk.
Innkeeper: "Ah, what can I do for you, señor y señora?"-asked the innkeeper, politely-"A room a suppose?"
Puss: "Well, may we request one?"-asked Puss, politely-"Preferably room seven?"
The short man dug around under his desk, before pulling out a key, with a tag that had a number seven on it. He handed them the key, as the two took the book and signed "Puss in Boots" and "Kitty in Boots" on the registration. As they walked to the stairs, Puss suddenly scooped Kitty up into his arms, and carried her up the stairs.
Kitty: "Puss, I can walk on my own."-said Kitty, surprised
Puss: "I know."-said Puss, seductively-"It's tradition for this to happen."
Kitty rolled her eyes at Puss' antic, but this is a moment where she cannot help but nuzzle her head against his chest. When the now-married feline outlaws stopped at the door, Puss struggled a bit, before Kitty picked up the key and unlocked the door as they entered. As they entered the room, Puss jumped onto the bed, still holding Kitty as they laughed and landed. Upon looking out the window by the bed they laid on, the two could see the sun setting, but would still be a few hours before it was dark.
Puss: "You know, it's still not dark yet."-Puss suggested-"Why don't we go and watch that sunset to start our honeymoon?"
Kitty: "That sounds like a good idea."-Kitty agreed
Kitty pulled Puss' hat down over his eyes, and jumped from his lap, and onto the floor. Puss got down, and followed her back through the door of their hotel room.
Puss and Kitty now sat on a rock, watching the beautiful sunset upon the horizon. Puss had an arm around Kitty, as she rested her head on his shoulder. Looking into the sunset, Puss had a thought.
Puss: "Did you know it matches us?"
Kitty: "It does?"-asked Kitty, confused
Puss: " Sí, just look."
Puss and Kitty looked to see the bright, vibrant orange and yellow lights from the sun's rays, setting into the darker shades of the sky as night came.
Kitty: "I see it now."-said Kitty, content-"It's beautiful."
Puss: "I'm happy you like it, mi carazón."-said Puss, happily-"Hey, after our honeymoon ends, what would you like to do...with our lives?"
Kitty: "Well, I was hoping we could get a house...and call it our home."
Puss: "I see, and living a life on the run isn't enough for you?"-asked Puss, jokingly
Kitty, not aware that Puss was joking, looked down to her lap, and frowned in shame. Puss, taking notice of this, was struck with guilt by how he made his wife feel bad.
Kitty: "Puss, it's not that at all, the only thing that matters is having someone with me until the very end."-said Kitty, somberly-"If we must, I'd gladly live on the run with you."
Puss tilted Kitty's chin up, moving her gaze to where her blue eyes met his own green eyes.
Puss: "Kitty, I was joking, to be honest, I was sort of hoping we could get a house of our own too."-said Puss, apologetically-"It will be a perfect life, just you, me and any little diablos we may have."
Kitty smiled at the thought, and buried her head against his shoulder. The two watched the sunset until it ended, and and left to find other activities before going to sleep. The two walked down the sidewalk, their boots making a light, tapping sound as they walked along the sidewalk, and their paws entwined with one another's. As they walked, the two passed by the small, cat-cantina, that they knew as the Litter Box.
Puss: "Care for a leche, mi amor?"
Kitty: "That sounds good."
Puss and Kitty walked into the cantina, and were immediately met with many cats staring at them. Puss felt his paw, unconsciously reaching towards the handle of his sword. Kitty also did this, as they etched towards the bar. Immediately, they heard clapping, and turned to see the bartender, a brown cat with black stripes, and wearing a black apron, clapping his front paws together.
Bartender: "Ah, what a joy it is to have you hear."
The remaining cats all clapped in unison, and even whistled a few times. Puss and Kitty turned back, and saw other cats going back and forth.
Cats: "Dance! Dance!"-was chanted
Puss: "Well, what do you think?"-asked Puss, smugly-"Should we give them what they want?"
Kitty: "I say we show these amateurs how dancing is done."
Puss held up his paw, which stopped the chanting, and him and Kitty took their places in the center of the cantina. The nearby band begins to play their instruments, Kitty then gives a curtsy whilst Puss does a bow. The two then walk up to each other, and stop right in front of one another. Kitty begins clapping, followed by hitting her paws against various other parts of her body, while she taps her feet and moves circles around Puss, and stops a few feet away from him. Puss then claps his paws in a flamenco style, and taps his feet forward, before jumping onto a barrel, and tapping his booted paws against the surface of the lid, finishing with a pose towards the top. Puss looks and sees that Kitty is clapping her paws, while doing the splits between a stool and bucket, as she jumps into the air, and claps while tapping her paws to the floor. Puss and Kitty then meet in the center of the floor, and begin stepping in circles, and walk up the walls somehow, followed by them going down and walking on each other's own paws. Kitty then gets on Puss' shoulders, and blows him a kiss as she jumps onto the counter top. Puss then looks, and Kitty jumped towards him. He catches her, and the two engage in a tango-style of dancing. Puss twirls Kitty to the other side of him, and stops her as they continue to tango around the floor. Puss then feels Kitty towards him, before he dipped her, and the two kiss as their dance finishes, causing the other cats to all cheer, neither even minding the random cat that always says "oooh" to everything. Puss then lifts Kitty from their dip, and holds her close to him.
Puss: "That was fun, but now I'm thirsty."-said Puss, exhausted-"I'll get us our leche, and how about you get a table?"
Kitty: "I'll be waiting, Ginger."
The two depart, and Kitty goes and sits down at a secluded table in the back of the table. A moment later, she feels a paw tap her, and turns to see who she thought would be Puss, but was not. A random, tawny cat stood behind her, starring at her, seductively.
???: "Hola, mi ángel."-said the stranger
Kitty looked over her shoulder, but found no one there behind her. She then looks back to the stranger, and stared frustrated at him for a moment.
Kitty: "Are you talking to me?"-asked Kitty, annoyed
???: "Sí, who else would I be talking to?"-asked the stranger, flirtatiously-"Now, did it hurt when you fell from Heaven?"
The stranger sat down beside Kitty, making her feel he must be stupid. The random, tawny cat leaned forward, and tried to place his paw on Kitty's, but she grabbed his paw, and twisted it, causing the cat to yelp in pain. Kitty then held her other paw towards his face to show him her ring.
Kitty: "What is this?"
???: "A ring?"-said the stranger in pain
Kitty: "Bot just any ring."-said Kitty, menacingly-"It's my wedding ring!"
Kitty then released her hold on him, and made him stumble backwards. The cat then numbed into a cat, who he looked back and saw Puss, staring him down.
Puss: "Is there a problem here?"-asked Puss, menacingly
???: "No...señor, not at all."
Puss: "Let me make something clear to you, hombre."-Puss threatened-"If I ever see you take even one step towards my wife again...well, thing will not end well for you."
The cat then fell backwards, and crawled away from Puss, before completely running away. Puss then calmed down, and set one of the two cups he held towards Kitty as he sat down.
Kitty: "I could have handled that, you know."-said Kitty, taking the cup
Puss: "I know."-Puss agreed-"I just don't like see other gatos try to flirt with you."
Kitty: "Ginger, you have nothing to worry about."-said Kitty, sweetly-"You're the only one for me."
Kitty placed her paw on Puss' as she drank, and Puss entwined their paws together, smiling towards his wife.
After finishing their leche and dancing for a while, Puss and Kitty finally went back to the hotel. They entered, and found no one there, which gave the conclusion that it was quite late. They slowly descended up the stairs, and entered their hotel room, closing the door behind them.
Puss: "How long were we out?"
Kitty: "A long time, apparently."-Kitty confirmed-"Now, let's get ready for bed."
Puss slowly began to undo his belt, and removed it from his waist, and Kitty did the same with her own belt. The two set their belts and swords onto a chair in the room, as to not step on them in the following morning. Next, they both sat on either side of the bed in the room, and removed their boots, setting them down onto the floor on either side. Puss finally took off his hat, and set it on one of the bedposts. The two then settle into the bed, and pull the sheets and blanket over their bodies. This is the first time Puss and Kitty would sleep this way, together, in one bed, and the two seemed to have enjoyed the thought of it. As they got under the covers, Puss affectionately pulled Kitty into a warm embrace, which prompted her to snuggle against his shoulder.
Puss: "This is one of the good things about being married."-said Puss, seductively-"Now we get to sleep like this every night."
Kitty: "Sí, this is wonderful."-said Kitty, gratefully-"I'm glad to have you, Ginger."
Puss: "And I you, Kitty in Boots, as it should be."-Puss responded
Kitty: "Kitty in Boots, I like that."-said Kitty, happy-"I'm so glad I married into that name."
Puss kissed Kitty's lips, something he plans on doing every night before they go to sleep. She kissed back, feeling the love they bring each other. Puss and Kitty then settle into the bed and each other's embrace, as they slowly drift to sleep, content with each other.
To be continued...
