At the beach, Lofty and Holiday were putting some DHARMA food boxes on the shelf.
"Cereal goes on the left, Lofty." Holiday said to her wife.
"So this isn't bothering you at all?" Lofty asked.
"What's "this"?" Holiday asked her.
"All this food." Lofty told her.
"Why would food bother me?" Holiday asked, confused.
"Aren't you remotely curious as to where all this came from? You're acting like we just got back from the supermarket." Lofty said.
"Well, I guess I was raised never to question my blessings." Holiday said.
"I was raised to question piles of food with weird labels that just fall out of the sky, Holiday."
"Well, dear, just because you're having a bad day doesn't mean you have to raise your voice." Holiday said.
"Bad day? I had 7 weeks of bad days on the other side of the island just trying to stay alive so I could get back to you. Here-Celestia's sun, Holiday. They've built a kitchen on the beach. They've given up."
"Given up? On what?" Holiday asked.
"On getting rescued." Lofty said.
There were two minutes left on the timer in the Hatch.
Tarkin, who was in the computer room, didn't notice though since he was trying to sketch out what he had seen on the blast door.
When the timer got to one minute, the alarm got louder. But right now, Tarkin didn't care.
"Hey," Said Vanto, looking at Tarkin."Are you going to get that?"
Tarkin typed the numbers into the computer and reluctantly pressed the button, resetting the timer.
Vanto and Redheart went to the armory where Starstone was guarding the door.
"When's the last time you went in to see him?" Vanto asked her.
"A couple of hours ago. He was sleeping." Starstone told him.
"Did he eat?"
Starstone shook her head."No. It's 2 days now. No food. No water. Nothing to say."
"I don't know about you but I'm tired of waiting." Vanto said.
Vanto and Redheart went into the armory.
Vanto looked at Gale."I hear you've lost your appetite." Vanto said to him.
Gale said nothing.
Redheart went over to him."I'm going to change that dressing on your shoulder." Redheart said. She then started changing the dressing.
"So, Henry," Vanto said."I was thinking about something you were saying before we found out who you are."
"This is going to sting." Said Redheart, putting some disinfectant on the wound. Gale flinched.
"Yeah, you were saying that if you were one of them that you'd lead us into a trap, capture our people, force a trade. Us for you. Pretty good idea, Henry. And, since you are one of them, I thought now might be a good time to use it. I'm going out to the line we're not supposed to cross and telling them that we've got you. And if they want you back, it's going to cost them. And when we get Applebloom back, you might just have been worth all the trouble." Vanto said.
Gale made a sound.
Vanto looked at him."Did you say something?"
Gale looked at Vanto."They'll never give you Applebloom."
At the beach, Holiday brought some food to Stuhlinger.
"I had to beat back half the group to get these. I saved them for you." Holiday said to him.
"Thanks but I'm on a diet. Nothing but fish and water and fish and water." Stuhlinger told her.
Lofty walked over to him."Stuhlinger, what are you doing, right now?"
"Uh, talking to your wife?" Stuhlinger said.
"Good. Can you get Suri and meet me at the edge of the tree line in 5 minutes? Can you get Whooves and Derpy and some others too?"
Stuhlinger nodded."Sure."
"Lofty? What are you up to?" Holiday asked her wife.
"I got an idea." She said before walking away to get more people.
In the Hatch, Vanto was getting some gear.
"I'm not so sure trading people's their thing." Said Starstone.
"Well, talking to him is getting us nowhere, so I think we can get something for him." Vanto told her.
"You want me to come with you?" Starstone asked.
Vanto looked at Tarkin. Something seemed to be bothering the Grand Moff.
"You need to stay here." Vanto said.
Starstone handed him a gun."You need it more than I do. Do yourself a favor. Don't go out there alone."
"Alright." Vanto nodded.
At the shore, Princess Luna tried prying some mussels with what magic she had.
"That's how it's done." Valance said, opening a mussel.
"Hey." Vanto said, walking over to them."I'm going back out into the jungle to talk to our friend with the beard, see if we can make a trade."
"A prisoner exchange." Valance said."And you're inviting me along because you want a gun?"
"I'm not inviting you. I'm inviting Luna. And I've already got a gun but thanks for offering." Vanto said to the cyborg.
"How the hell did you get a gun?" Valance asked.
"Does it matter?" Said Vanto.
"I'll get my things." Luna smiled.
Lofty looked at the gathered people at the beach.
"Okay, 2 months we've been on this island. 2 months. And already we have a water trough, and we've got a food pantry. And people are taking showers in your hatch. Have you forgotten that we all crashed on this island? It's like none of you want to go your worlds again." Lofty said to them.
"How can you say that? Of course, we want to go back to our worlds." Said Jeela.
"Well, then why aren't we doing anything about it?" Lofty asked.
"Well, we built a raft. But it got blown up." Said Stuhlinger.
"Okay, so what are we doing now? That pallet of food had a parachute which means it was dropped here by...uh...what was it called again?" Lofty said, wondering what they had called it.
"A plane?" Stuhlinger said.
"That's it. A plane must have dropped it here. We need to build a sign so that when another plane comes by, they can see it and know were here."
"Maybe we should speak to Vanto about this first." Holiday suggested.
Lofty looked at her."Could I speak to you for just a second? Come here." She said, taking her wife a little far from the group."Honey, it is just a sign. I don't see what the harm is."
"The harm is that you are telling people we're going to be rescued very quickly."
"I'm just trying to do something. I want to get back to our life." Lofty said.
"Well, the only thing you are doing is giving these people false hope." Holiday told her.
"Excuse me. I have a sign to build." She said, going back to the group."Alright, I want to get this going right away. We've waited long enough."
Flashback
It had been a week since Holiday and Lofty had moved into Ponyville. Scootaloo was outside, playing with CMC while Holiday was at a doctor's appointment and Lofty was at the house, alone.
Holiday went into the house. Lofty looked at her wife and saw that something
"What's wrong, Holiday?"
Holiday looked at her wife."Lofty...I'm dying."
Lofty's eyes widened when she said this."W-what?"
"They say I have about a year, maybe a little longer." She told her wife.
On the Island
In the Hatch, Tarkin was getting more and more frustrated as he failed to remember what he had seen on the blast doors. Tarkin grabbed his crutches and went to the armory.
"I need to talk to him." Tarkin said to Starstone.
"The gun's with Vanto. The door stays closed. But if you want to talk to him, talk to him." Starstone said.
Tarkin went to the armory door.
"Henry, can you hear me?" Tarkin asked. He knocked on the door."It's Tarkin, Henry. Henry, did you enter the numbers? Did you push the button or not? Henry, I need to know. I want you to answer me. Answer me! Answer me, Henry!" Tarkin yelled, angry.
In the armory, Gale smiled.
"I'm flattered." Luna said as she and Vanto walked through the jungle.
"Yeah, why is that?" Vanto asked.
"Because you chose me to go with you instead of Valance." Luna told him.
"I asked Zuud first but she turned me down. And I only asked you because they don't want you. They grabbed you, had you at gunpoint. They could have kept you but they didn't. Then again, they didn't really want me, either." Vanto said.
"Damaged goods, both of us." Luna said. She then noticed a doll on the ground."What's that?" She walked over to the doll.
"Luna?" Vanto said.
"It's a doll." She said, going to use her magic to lift it.
Vanto ran over to her."Wait, wait, no. No don't."
But just as Vanto got there, Luna moved the doll. Suddenly, they both got caught in a net.
"Sorry." Said Luna.
"Are you okay?" Vanto asked.
"Yeah." Luna said.
"Oh good, so you can hear me? This isn't one of theirs." Vanto told her.
"No, it's not sophisticated enough. It must be one of Rousseau's traps, so hopefully she's not far from here." Luna said.
"It could be a week before she shows up." Vanto said. He then struggled in the net.
"What are you doing?" Luna asked him.
"I'm trying to get the gun. I can't get my arm around." Vanto said.
Luna used her magic to grab the pistol and hand it to Vanto.
"Thanks." He said. Vanto aimed the pistol at the rope and fired.
He shot the rope and they fell to the ground.
"Nice shot." Luna said.
At the beach, Tarkin was sitting in the sand, his crutches next to him. Holiday walked over to him.
"Hi, Tarkin." Holiday smiled.
"Hello, Holiday." Tarkin said to her."I saw your wife walking through the jungle hauling rocks."
"She's building a big sign in the sand." Holiday said."So, what are you doing down here, Tarkin? I can't remember the last time I saw you out of that hatch."
"I'm done with the hatch." Tarkin told her.
It was raining now as Vanto and Luna walked through the jungle.
"What did you mean back there?" Vanto asked Luna.
"What?" Said Luna.
"In the net, you said they were sophisticated, the Others."
"Uh, last week when the baby got sick, Jeela and I went into the jungle and, uh, found another hatch." Luna told him.
Vanto looked at her."What?"
"It's a medical station. There's nothing you can use. It was all cleared out but I found some lockers. They had clothes inside, all worn and dirty. And they were on hangers like costumes. And there was a make-up kit, and a fake beard."
"When were you going to tell me this?" Vanto asked her.
"When you decided to let me back in the club." Luna said. Vanto walked away."What, you can keep one of them locked up in the hatch for like a week and say nothing, but then when I-"
Luna saw Vanto stop at a clearing.
"We're here." Vanto said.
"Are you sure?" Luna asked.
"That's where they took a shot at Valance. Right over there was where they pushed you out of the jungle with the bag on your head. And right there is where I laid my guns down." Vanto pointed.
"Hey, hey I'm back! You say you're watching us, you hear me? We've got your man! If you want him back you're going to have to come out here! Come on out!" Vanto yelled for them.
"Vanto!" Luna yelled.
"I know you're out there! I know you can hear me!" Vanto shouted.
"Vanto, they're not here." Luna told him.
"I'll be right here 'til you talk to me! I'll be right here!" Vanto yelled.
Holiday, carrying a bowl of food by using her mouth to hold the edge of the bowl, went over to Lofty, who was adding rocks to the sign alone.
"I brought you some supper." She said after setting down the bowl.
"Thanks." Lofty said.
"Where is everybody?" Holiday asked.
Lofty sighed."They left."
Holiday looked at her wife."Lofty, there's something I need to tell you. When you're sick and you have got something inside you that doesn't belong there you can feel it. When we woke up on this Island, I couldn't feel it anymore. At first, I thought it was just shock. But...this Island has healed me."
Lofty was silent for a little bit."You don't want to be rescued, do you? You think if you leave it'll come back. And if you can't leave, neither can I. We won't ever leave Holiday." Lofty said.
Holiday and Lofty hugged each other.
Lofty looked at the sign that said SOS dug in the sand."I would offer to take down the sign, but we didn't get very far." Lofty said.
Tarkin was at the Hatch. Starstone walked over to him."Hey." She said.
Tarkin looked at her."Hi."
"I pressed your button." Starstone told him.
"It's not my button." Tarkin said.
"Where did you go?"
"I just needed to stretch my legs."
Tarkin went over to the computer. He then started drawing what he had seen on the blast doors. The Grand Moff smiled.
It was night now. Vanto and Luna were sitting at a fire. Vanto had stopped yelling.
"How long are you going to wait, Vanto?" Luna asked.
"Until I get my voice back. Then I'm going to yell some more." Vanto said.
"Maybe they can't hear you."
"They can hear me."
"I'm sorry I kissed you." Luna said.
Vanto looked at her."I'm not."
Suddenly, the two heard movement. They saw something carrying a torch, running towards them. Applejack came out of the jungle, falling over, unconscious. She held the bottom end of the torch in her mouth to carry it.
"Applejack." Luna said, surprised to see the element of honesty.
