This chapter takes place before "The First Day Of School" chapter. I forgot about Daggett's wedding so i decided to make this a flashback chapter.
One day, Daggett was sitting on the couch of his dam pondering about something, his fingers twiddling around. Something big and important was on his mind.
He wanted to finally propose to Linnea.
Throughout the four years they've been in their relationship, Daggett has grown to care for his girlfriend very much. Much the same way Norbert and Treeflower were.
And, just like his brother when he wanted to propose, Daggett was feeling very nervous about it.
The only person he could go to for advice is Norbert. After all, he is his wiser, older brother and has always been there for him.
He got up from his couch, went to his brother's dam. He took a deep breath and rang the acorn doorbell as it rang the theme song for the series that they were in many years ago.
As the door opened, Norbert greeted his brother, with his wife Treeflower right next to him.
"Hey, Dag! How's my favorite sibling on this bright and sunny day?" Norbert greeted.
"Hi, Dag!" Treeflower greeted as well.
"Hey Norb, Hey Treeflower. Listen Norb, there's something I gotta ask yo-"
"Hi Uncle Daggy!" Shouted two little voices from across the dam.
Just then, Lily and Petunia came running up to their uncle excitedly.
"Hi girls!" Daggett greeted them back.
The girls ran up to him and hugged him tightly.
"Come in, Dag, me and Treeflower will make you some tea." Norbert offered.
"Okay." Daggett agreed, smiling but still had his issue on his mind.
A few minutes go by as Norbert and Treeflower finish preparing Daggett's tea. Norbert, Treeflower, and Daggett are on the couch as they drink their tea. Lily and Petunia are doing their own thing by doing their coloring on the floor.
"So, Norb. I have a favor to ask of you." Daggett tells Norbert,as he sips his tea.
"Of course, my brotha. Lay it on me." Norbert smiles,patting his brother's back gently.
"Well…I want to propose to Linnea and I'm a little bit nervous to do it. And I was wondering if…you could help me out."
"Why of course, Dag! You helped me out trying to propose to Treeflower." He tells him while holding Treeflower's hand mid-sentence while she smiles. "It's only nay-tural that I returned the favor."
"You will?"
"Righty-o-Righty! Anything for the one and only Daggopolis!"
"Thank you, Norb!"
"No problem, Daggarino."
"Tell you what, why don't you call her right now?" Treeflower suggests
"Okay, I will!" Daggett exclaims.
Daggett gets up from the couch and goes over to the telephone and takes a deep breath as he dials her number.
It rings and rings and rings until…
"Hi, Daggy!", answered a Swedish accent on the phone, being none other than Linnea herself.
"Hi, Linnea. Hey, I've been planning a big surprise for you, and I was wondering if you wanted to come over to my dam to see it."
"Awww I'm sorry, my love. I can't. I'm gonna be performing in Maine all day tomorrow. You can show me when I get back the day after though." She smiles on the other end of the phone.
Daggett gulps.
"Oh okay then."
"Talk to you tomorrow, Daggy-Poo~"
Linnea hangs up. Daggett freaks out.
"Spoot! What do I do now?" Daggett pleads to Norbert.
"Dag, y'know what I'm gonna do? I'm gonna train you!"
"You think it'll work?"
"Are you kidding, of course It'll work. Come with me, hermano."
Norbert takes Daggett off out of the dam.
"I'll be back shortly." He tells Treeflower and his daughters.
"Okay, Norby." Treeflower says.
"Bye, Daddy! Bye, Uncle Daggy!" Lily and Petunia exclaim bidding them farewell.
"Bye girls!" Norbert and Daggett both bid them farewell back.
Norbert and Daggett then leave the dam and start walking.
"So where are we going, Norb?"
"Well the first thing to do is get her a ring. You can't propose to her if you don't have a ring."
"Right!"
"And luckily there's a jewelry store right around the corner."
After a few minutes of walking, they encounter the jewelry store. Aptly named "M. Jewlery" with the slogan "Every Marriage Begins with M."
"Aha! Right on the money, Dag! Let's go get a ring!"
"Sounds good to me, Norb!"
Norbert and Daggett enter the jewelry store looking for the perfect ring for Linnea. After some searching, Daggett finally finds the perfect ring. A Diamond Wedding Ring. After purchasing it for the whopping price of $3,230 (All of which came from Norbert's secret money stash from investing in stocks located in Daggett's dam from decades prior), Daggett had finally acquired the ring.
Now all that's left to do is to actually train to propose.
"Alrighty, now we've got the ring. Now all that's left to do is propose. And I will show you how."
"How?" Daggett asks his brother.
"Easy."
Cut to a few days later, where Norbert and Daggett are standing in the middle of the forest with Norbert standing next to a foam dummy of a woman with a printed out photo of Linnea's face pasted onto it's head. After three days of training, this is the final test for Daggett's proposal skills.
"Alright, Daggadeus Mozart. Here is the final test. If you're gonna learn to propose right, you're gonna need some pray-ctice."
"Okay then."
"Okay, Dag. Give it a shot."
Daggett gets closer to the Linnea dummy, quivering in fear.
"Um..h-hey Linnea. Um…there's something I've been wanting to tell you. I…um…erm…"
The dummy sits silent, but Daggett is still nervous out of his core.
"I can't do it!"
"Come on, Daggy Wag. I know you can do it."
"No I can't…I'll never be able to propose to Linnea…"
"Hey, don't you say that, Dag. You can do it. You can do lots of things! You're one of the most courageous beavers I know! You're a fantastic brother, a very great uncle, you helped me out with my marriage, you're an outstanding boyfriend, I mean the list goes on. What can't you do?"
Hearing these words made Daggett smile.
"I know you can do it, Daggett Beaver." Norbert pats his brother's back.
"Thank you, Norb."
He struts over to the dummy, wedding ring and box in hand. Now more confident than before.
"Linnea. You make me the happiest man in the world." Daggett acts out.
He gets on one knee and opens the wedding ring box.
"Will you marry me?"
Even though she wasn't there, Daggett could hear Linnea saying yes in his head. He knew that he would nail this.
"Very good, Dag! You're a nay-tural!"
"Thank you, Norb! I couldn't have done it without your help."
"No problemo, Dagski. Come on! Big hug!"
Norbert hugs Daggett in his usual tight grasp whilst he struggles to breathe.
Daggett is now more impatient than ever, eager and dying to propose to her already. He already has his confidence and is not letting it go to waste.
"Now all that's left to do is to find Linnea and help me propose to her!" Daggett suggests.
"But Linnea's in Maine, Dag. Shouldn't we just wait until she gets back?" Norbert asks.
"Come on, Norb. This is my one chance to propose to her! I already have all my confidence and I don't want it to go to waste! You don't understand, Linnea is my everything! I love her just as much as you love Treeflower! We gotta find her now!"
"But we'll never get to Maine on foot."
"It won't be that hard for us. I mean we've traveled all across the country on foot many times before in the past."
"You're right."
"Let's go!" Daggett exclaims.
Just then, Norbert and Daggett start running all the way from Oregon on their journey to Maine. At first, they thought running would be just as easy as all the other times. But however there were many incidents such as Taxi trouble, rude pedestrians, large crowds, chaotic weather,etc. However despite all of that, they still persevered and never gave up.
Hours upon hours of running went by as they finally arrived in Maine. Out of breath and worn out. Daggett spots Linnea's performance location from straight ahead.
"There she is!" Daggett points out.
He pulls the ring out from his fur pocket to check to see if he has it, and he does.
"Now's my chance." Daggett wheezes.
He and Norbert both ran up to the stage just as Linnea finished performing.
"Linnea!" Daggett wheezes as he runs up to her on stage, completely out of breath.
Linnea looks to see who was yelling her name,to her surprise,it was Daggett along with his brother.
"Daggett?" Linnea said to herself as she ran over to the extremely tired and exhausted beavers,"What are you two doing here?!"
Daggett catches his breath some more before he is ready. He walked closely to her slowly.
"Linnea…Me and Norb came all this way here because I have something very important to tell you…"
"What is it, Daggy?" Linnea asks.
Norbert gives Daggett a thumbs up for support.
"These last four years have been truly the best years of my life. You have truly made me quite possibly the happiest beaver I have ever been… It's only right that I give you your surprise now rather than later."
As Daggett takes the ring out of his pocket and gets on his one knee, he feels himself close to collapsing as he feels a bit unbalanced.
"Linnea Beaver…"
He opens the ring box and shows it to her, as her eyes sparkle."
"Will you… marry…mehh…"
Just then, Daggett collapses hard on the floor from extreme exhaustion. The crowd gasp to the sight.
Linnea was in tears from what he just said as she jumped on top of him in excitement ,"YES, YES DAGGY! I'LL MARRY YOU!"
Linnea hugs him tightly as the only thing Daggett can do is smile as the crowd begin to cheer.
All the preparation was worth it.
"But first we gotta get you rested. Come on, let's bring you boys back home." Linnea offers as she kisses Daggett's head.
The three of them then all get in Linnea's own airplane back to Wayouttatown, Oregon. Daggett was still sleeping from the extreme exhaustion while Linnea held her new fiancée close in her arms. It took them 48 hours by flight as they finally made it back home by morning.
Norbert entered his dam while Daggett and Linnea went back to their own dam so Daggett could get some rest.
"Hi, Norby!" Treeflower greets her husband.
"Hi, Daddy!" Lily and Petunia greet their father whilst hugging him.
"Hi everyone, I'm back!" Norbert announces smiling.
"How'd it go?" Treeflower asks.
"It went perfectly! Linnea said yes and all the training was worth it!" Norbert said while dusting off his hands.
"That's great!"
"Yeah."
Norbert sits on the couch with Treeflower after having been away from her for the last few days.
"Daddy?" Lily asks.
"Yes, sweetie?"
"Since Uncle Daggy is getting married, does that mean Linnea is gonna be part of the family?"
"Of course! She's gonna be your new auntie!" He smiles.
Lily and Petunia giggle happily at this fact, as they are excited that their uncle is getting married.
Back in Daggett's dam,Linnea was looking after her new fiancé as Daggett was resting in his bed. Linnea was surely happy that her one and true love proposed to her.
"Oh Daggy…" Linnea said softly as she moved her fingers all across Daggett's cheeks.
Just then, Daggett began to stir in his bed as he turned to Linnea. Daggett slowly opened his eyes to see his lover right beside his bedside.
"L-Linnea…?"
"Hi, Daggy. How's my new fiance resting?" She smiles.
"I've been sleeping good…I'm so glad you said yes…"
"Why would I not? You've been the best boyfriend ever to me. Of course I would have said yes."
Daggett smiled softly,"I love you Linnea,so much." Daggett slowly reaches for Linnea's hand as he holds on to it. "Let's start our lives together…"
Linnea smiles back softly while still holding on to his hand,"I love you too Daggy…"
"Well,we should go and tell Norbert"
Just then,Daggett slowly tried to get himself up but he doesn't have enough strength right now as he is still in a bit of pain.
"Daggy, you should try and relax a bit more before we tell them." advised Linnea as she put Daggett back down on to his bed.
"Okay Linnie…"
A few hours later, Daggett got his strength back as he and Linnea headed over to Norbert's dam to tell them the news.
They ring the doorbell as Norbert answers it again.
"Hi, Dag! Hi, Linnea!"
"Hi, Norb!" Dag greets his brother.
"How are you doing?" Norbert asks.
"I'm feeling much better now, Norb. Me and Linnea decided we're gonna get married in a few weeks!" Daggett announced.
"That's great news, Dag!" Norbert cheered.
Treeflower, Lily, and Petunia all heard from the other room and came to the door.
"Hi, Linnea!" Treeflower greets her best friend, now her new sister in law.
"Hi Uncle Daggy! Hi Auntie Linnea!" Lily and Petunia greet them.
Daggett and Linnea both head inside their dam.
"We're so glad you two are getting married!" Treeflower congratulates Linnea.
"Awww,thank you, Treeflower! I'm so happy to finally be married to Daggy~" She says before giving him a quick kiss.
"Hey, Norb? I have a very important question to ask you."
"What is it Dag?" asked Norbert.
Would you…Want to be my best man at the wedding?" Daggett asks,while scratching his neck nervously.
"Of course, Dag! You're my brother and you were my best man at my wedding. Like I said, it's only nat-ur-ayl to return the favor."
"Thank you, Norb…"
"You're welcome, Dag." as both brothers give each other a big hug.
"Lily? Petunia? How would you like to be our flower girls?" Daggett asks Lily and Petunia.
Lily and Petunia looked at each other in confusion for a bit before asking their uncle.
"What are flower girls?" They ask in unison.
"It's the two girls who usually spread flower petals around the wedding room."
"Ooooh!" The girls said excitedly and they understood what their uncle meant.
"Sounds fun!" Petunia says.
Daggett chuckled softly as he ruffles their hair playfully,"I'm glad you think so girls."
Daggett turns his attention to his brother once again.
"Since I already got a dam, there's no need for me and Linnea for us to build a new one. We can only build more rooms when me and Linnea decide to have children of our own."
"Sounds like a good plan my bro-tha!" Norbert agreed .
"Okay, let's get this wedding plans started!" Daggett declared.
During the few weeks,Daggett and Linnea decide where their wedding ceremony should take place and it's where he and Linnea first met. Linnea got her wedding dress and Daggett got his same blue tuxedo that he wore years ago and his brother's wedding. Linnea asks her best friend and now sister-in law Treeflower,Wanda,Glodean,Tracy,and Vanity to be her best bridesmaids. They all happily accept her offer.
It is now the big day, Daggett was getting ready as he puts on his blue tuxedo,fixing his bowtie. Norbert was wearing a white tuxedo which Norbert hardly wears. Treeflower was in her bridesmaid outfit and Lily and Petunia were all dressed up as flower girls,which Norbert and Treeflower found to be adorable. Linnea was in her dressing room, getting ready as she put her wedding dress on and put her makeup on.
Before the ceremony,Lily and Petunia were practicing their job while Norbert kept on taking pictures of them being so cute at what they were doing.
"Keep it coming girls!" Norbert cheered happily,"You girls are doing such a great job! Daddy's so proud of you two!"
Lily and Petunia giggled excitedly as they tossed a lot of the flower petals across the floor.
"Uncle Daggy's getting married! Uncle Daggy's getting married!" the girls chanted in unison.
"Yes he is girls,yes he is." Norbert chuckled,"Keep 'em coming girls!"
Norbert sheds a single tear,"Oh,my girls are growing up so fast…" Norbert said to himself as he continued to take pictures.
Later on in the day as the wedding ceremony is about to begin,all of Norbert,Daggett,and Linnea's friends and family begin to show up,Daggett was standing,waiting patiently for Linnea to arrive. His brother was right there,right next to him.
"You nervous Dag?" Norbert asks.
"Nervous? Pfff,nah!"
Norbert raised an eyebrow,well knowing his brother too well at this point.
"Well, maybe a little." Daggett admits.
A couple minutes later,Lily and Petunia came down the aisle with their flower girl outfits as they tossed the flower petals across the aisle. Norbert couldn't be more proud of his girls.
"You go girls!" Norbert chanted as he took another photo of them as Daggett rolled his eyes,still smiling nervously. Lily and Petunia sat back down next to their mother,who was in tears. Happy tears of course.
Barry starts playing the organ as everyone turned to see the bride at the door.
Just then, all his nervousness disappears as soon as he sees Linnea walking down the aisle in her gorgeous white wedding dress. Daggett's heart throbs intensely. This is the most gorgeous he has ever seen Linnea in the four years they've known each other.
Linnea made it to the top as she looked deeply into Daggett's eyes.
"Wow Linnea… You look, beautiful…"
Linnea giggles and blushes to this,"Why thank you Daggy…. You look great too…"
Both beavers nod to Bill Licking,who came back to be officiator for the wedding,to start the ceremony.
"Dearly beloved. We are gathered here today to celebrate the union between Daggett Doofus Beaver and Linnea Beaver."
Linnea and Daggett looked into each other's eyes lovingly,with tears in their eyes.
"May I have the rings please?" Bill Licking instructed.
Bing approached from the side, bearing the goofiest grin and the teariest eyes ever. He's holding the pillow with their rings. Him seeing his best friend that he's known for so getting getting married made him so happy. He gave the rings to Bill Licking as Daggett and Linnea put each other's rings on their fingers.
"Do you,Daggett Doofus Beaver,take Linnea Beaver to be your lawfully wedded wife? For richer and for poorer, in sickness and in health, 'till death do you part?"
"I do." Daggett responded.
And do you,Linnea Beaver,take Daggett Doofus Beaver to be your lawfully wedded husband? For richer and for poorer, in sickness and in health, 'till death do you part?"
"I sure do!" Linnea responds back happily.
"Then by the power vested in me by the state of Wayouttatown Oregon,I now pronounce you husband and wife! You may kiss the bride." Bill licking declared.
Daggett grabs Linnea as he and Linnea share their first kiss as husband and wife. The crowd began to cheer and clap for the newly wed couple. Norbert shed a few tears for his younger twin brother. Daggett had finally found true love and happiness.
"I may now introduce you to Mr. and Mrs. Beaver! Bill Licking announced to everyone.
Daggett holds on to Linnea as they head out so they can all start the reception party.
Everyone is having a great time at the reception party. Having all the food,wedding cake,and Treeflower and her band performed a song for the newly weds.
Just then, Daggett had a thought in his head. He headed over to a big white table as he grabbed a glass and tapping on it with a a spoon.
"Attention everyone! I would like to make a toast!"
Everyone now had their eyes on Daggett as they headed over to the big table.
"To my brother, Norbert. You have been nothing but the perfect brother to me. If it wasn't for your help in getting the confidence I needed, I would've never been able to propose to Linnea and be able to spend the rest of my life with her. I love you big bro."
Norbert smiles as he sheds a tear.
"BIIIIIIIIG HUG!" Daggett yelled happily as he hugged his older brother tightly.
As Daggett finishes hugging Norbert, he then turns to Linnea.
"And to my lovely wife, Linnea. I am beyond grateful to be with you for the last four years. You have made me a much happier beaver than I have ever been in my entire life. I love you so much Linnea."
Linnea was in tears as the two newly wedded beavers kissed.
Everyone clapped and cheered for them.
"Cheers!" announced Daggett.
"Cheers!" Everyone chanted back as all of their glasses clanked together.
Hours go by,Daggett and Linnea have their first dance as husband and wife,everyone still having a great time,Linnea tossed her bouquet of flowers to all the female animals of the forest,and everyone gathered for a group photo and Daggett held Linnea romantically and happily.
The wedding reception went on smoothly and as soon it gotten dark,everyone went back home, Daggett and Linnea started to pack up for their honeymoon,which is at Italy.
"Oh Daggy Waggy, I'm so excited for Italy! It's gonna be so fun and romantic!" Linnea smiled.
"I know! Only the best honeymoon destination for the bestest wife to me!" Daggett smiled.
Linnea giggled and kissed him before she went back to packing.
"Okay, I already finished packing my stuff. I'm gonna say goodbye to Norb before we go." Daggett informed his wife.
"Okay, dear."
Daggett makes his way to his brother's dam. He rings the doorbell and Norbert answers it.
"Oh hey Dag. Getting ready for your honeymoon?"
"Yeah. I just wanted to come,to say goodbye to you." Daggett said.
"How long will you two be gone?" Norbert asked.
"I was thinking for 2 weeks. We've got a lot planned for Italy."
"I bet." Norbert replied.
Daggett and Norbert just stared at each other for a moment till Daggett began to speak again.
"Well Dag,I'm so proud of you. You've grown up to be a mature grown up beaver." Norbert said proudly with a single tear shed.
"Thanks Norb…" Daggett replied softly
"So,I'll see you soon,Norby. I'll let you guys know when we arrive. And we'll show you guys lots of photos of our trip."
"Well,for good times sake,BIIIIIIIIIIIG HUG!" Norbert grabbed on to his brother as he hugged the living daylights out of him.
"He-he,alright alright." Daggett nervously chucked as he kindly brushed his brother off.
"Have fun Dag. Take care! We'll miss you!" Norbert waved goodbye to his brother.
"We will! I'll miss you too Norb! We'll be back! Don't you worry!" Daggett yelled happily as he waved goodbye to Norbert.
Linnea was waiting for him at her private jet plane as Daggett arrived and put all of their luggage at the back of the plane.
"Ready to go?" Linnea asked.
Daggett chuckled softly,"I'm always ready Linnea. Ready for everything." Daggett held on to Linnea's hands as they boarded the plane as the two newly weds began to kiss.
Daggett and Linnea are now happily married,having their best time during their honeymoon in Italy. The two couldn't be happier ever in their entire lives.
