AN: This is my take on the episode for my story, you will notice some minor difference to the show.
The group was in the middle of finishing up a mission to collect data from sector five. "Aelita how's it going?" Jeremy asked. "Almost done." Aelita replied, still sorting through data while Ulrich, Odd and Yumi were defending her from Mantas. Josh had been devirtualized earlier in the mission while trying to find the key in the core zone. "All done, Jeremy. You have the controls back." Aelita stated, closing the terminal. "Okay, I am bringing your vehicles and opening a passage." Jeremy said, typing. The group's vehicles soon virtualized next to the platform and one of the data passageways stopped transmitting allowing the group to leave Sector Five. "Once Aelita is in the tower so I can devirtualize her, I will bring you all back in." Jeremy said, typing the devirtualization codes.
In the lab, Jeremy was going over the data Aelita had collected, while Josh sat on the edge of the holo-system. "So? Anything good?" Aelita asked, walking over to the console. "No. I wouldn't call it good." Jeremy said typing still. Aelita looked a bit confused. "More like amazing." Jeremy continued. "With this I bet I can crack the code of Franz Hopper's Dairy." He added pointing towards a decryption program Aelita had found. "Way cool." Ulrich said. "The only problem is we are going to need a supercomputer to process such a large amount of data. We will have to activate a tower or two." Aelita said, a bit worried. "Uh, that didn't go very well last time. Xana hates it when we play with his toys." Yumi said. "I can attest to that." Josh added. "I know, but we don't have a choice." Jeremy replied. "Time out, Can we go eat? Its mashed potatoes today." Odd said, sounding excited. "You can have mine. I'd better stay here to prepare for the mission. That way, you can set out right after lunch." Jeremy replied. "Mine as well, I want to make sure activating this tower goes as smoothly as possible." Josh said, standing up to stretch a bit. Odd looked super excited to be getting two extra servings.
In the lab Jeremy and Josh were preparing the mission. "Josh, I have a program for controlling and managing the tower. Can you look over it?" Jeremy asked, getting up. "Also we are going to need activation codes to properly activate the tower." He added. "Okay. Also since we have time I will work on setting up activation codes for you at the console, based on mine." Josh said looking over the program and making minor corrections to account to instabilities in Lyoko.
In the cafeteria the group was in line and Odd was getting his food. "Um.. Jeremy and Josh aren't coming. They said I could have their portions too, Rosa." Odd told Rosa. "With everything you put away, I just don't understand how you can still be so…scrawny!" Rosa said as she put the extra food on to Odd's tray. "I am not scrawny! I'm svelte!" Odd replied before walking to a table with the group. "So come on, Ulrich. Stop holding out on us! What's your overall average?" Odd asked, mouth full of food. "Seventy-three for the term." Ulrich replied. "Well I… I got seventy-five. I beat ya!" Odd said still eating. "Only because you made up some points in art class. What about you, Aelita? What's your grade point average?" Ulrich asked. "Ninety Five point two." Aeltia said simply. Odd and Ulrich stared at Aelita for a bit in dis-belief. "But it's only because of math." She added. "Yes, but still! You must have gotten good grades in all your classes! That's great! Especially since you're not really…" Ulrich said before starting to trail off. Odd and Ulrich sort of stopped mid movement. "Uh.. I mean.." Ulrich tried to say. "Don't worry. I know very well I'm not really human. Still, sometimes I get a strange feeling as if…as if I've already lived here. Weird, huh?" Aelita replied. "Oh, that's just the magical Odd effect. You know, you see me once…and you feel you've known me forever!" Odd said in between eating a scoop of potatoes. "Hey, Magic Odd Effect, you know you got some mashed potatoes on your face." Ulrich said, pointing at his nose. Odd tried to look his nose causing Aelita to laugh a bit.
After lunch Ulrich, Odd and Aelita were starting to walk towards the park to head to the factory when Odd's phone began to ring. "No way." Odd said, surprised looking at his phone. "Something wrong?" Ulrich asked as they stopped walking. "Not really. Some girl wants me to meet her in the woods!" Odd replied, sounding excited. "Really? Who?" Aelita asked. "I don't know, it came from a number I don't know." Odd replied. "No doubt about it: it's just another girl who's too shy to admit she's crazy about me." He added. "You know, Odd, your love life is like something out of a soap opera." Ulrich said jokingly. "O-oh, yeah! And yours is really simple, hm?" Odd jabbed back causing Aelita to laugh a bit.
In the lab Josh was still looking over the program when the superscan detected an activated tower. "Jeremy, we have got an activated tower." Josh said. "Oh Great. Just what we needed." Jeremy said annoyed with Xana's timing. "I will call the other, you just keep working on the program. Because once we deactivate the tower, we are going to work on the mission already planned." Jeremy added as he took out his phone and called Ulrich. "Ulrich there's an activated tower, head to the factory right away." Jeremy said. "Okay, I will let Odd and Yumi know." Ulrich said, hanging up.
Outside the cafeteria, Ulrich texted Odd and Aelita called Yumi and informed her of the activated tower.
In the woods where Odd's message told him to meet up, Odd was looking around when he got the SOS Xana text message. "What do you mean 'SOS Xana'. No way. Not now." Odd said to himself annoyed that Xana would attack when he was trying to meet up with someone. Just then Odd heard hustling in the bushes behind him making him turn around to look. "Who's there?" He asked backing away slowly till a spector lunged out of the bush at him causing him to scream and drop his phone.
At the factory Aelita, Ulrich and Yumi had made it to the lab. "Where's Odd?" Jeremy asked. "Don't know. He was answering his phone. But he was meeting up with some sort of mystery girl." Urlich said. "A girl? What girl?" Jeremy asked. "Mystery girls don't leave their names." Ulrich replied. "Well, I hope he doesn't take too long, not only do we have to decode Franz Hopper's Diary but now there is also a tower to deactivate." Jeremy said as Josh got out of the seat by the console. "I am going to go see if I can figure out what attack my father is trying to pull, since I can be virtualized yet." Josh said, walking towards the elevator. "Okay, if you see Odd tell him to hurry up." Jeremy replied.
After Josh left, Jeremy began the virtualization process for Ulrich, Aeltia and Yumi. "Transfer Urlich, Transfer Aelita, Transfer Yumi. Scanner Ulrich, Scanner Aelita, Scanner Yum. Virtualization" Jeremy said to himself as he virtualized the group into the mountain sector. Shortly after the elevator opened revealing Odd. "Here I am, Jeremie." Odd said not really sound all like himself. "Good, we have been trying to reach you. Head down to the scanners, the others are waiting." Jeremy said, typing the virtualization codes for Odd. "Transfer Odd, Scanner Odd, Virtualization." Jeremy said typing all the necessary codes when suddenly multiple errors appeared all over the screens. "Oh no. What's going on here." Jeremy said to himself trying to understand this mess. "Odd?! Odd?" He called over the mic to the group on Lyoko. "Everything's ok. I'm on Lyoko." Odd said in a strange tone of voice. "There was a bug during the transfer." Jeremy said, looking over as the activated tower suddenly deactivated itself. "Now what. THe tower just deactivated itself." Jeremy added, getting a bit more confused. "Are you sure?" Urlich asked. "Yea, superscan shows all clear as if Xana called off his attack." Jeremy replied. "Well that's one less thing for us to worry about, right?" Ulrich stated. "Right." Odd replied. "Welp, we got a diary to decode, I am bring up your vehicles." Jeremy said typing to virtualize them. "I've chosen the tower at seventy-two degrees south, and fifty-five degrees west." Jeremy added.
Jeremy then called Josh to inform him of the news. "Josh, its Jeremy. Xana seems to have called off the attack. He deactivated the tower, also come back to the factory, when I virtualized Odd all sorts of strange errors occurred, thankfully the transfer worked, but seeing as you know the ins and outs of that system you can probably understand them quicker then I can." He said, waiting for the group to get to the tower. "Okay, I will be right back over." Josh said having not gotten far from the factory.
On Lyoko Aelita walked into the tower while the other three stood guard. "Okay Aelita, I am going to activate the tower, you can start and manage the process from your end." Jeremy said launching the program he wrote that Josh had checked over. "Okay, I am starting the program now." Aelita said launching the program using the activated tower as the processing node. "Okay, Jeremy, the decoding is under way, but it may take some time." Aelita said, smiling a bit. "No problem. Whenever XANA leaves us in peace, everything's cool." Jeremy said starting to relax a bit before the super computer alerted him of approaching monsters. "I spoke too soon, you guys have some monsters headed your way down the path." Jeremy said as Josh walked off the elevator.
In the lab, Josh walked over and took a quick glance at some of the errors on the server,
On Lyoko the group readied to attack the monsters as Tarantulas began approaching. Yumi went to throw her fans at one when Odd suddenly aimed at her and quickly devirtualized her. "Jeremy! Xana's somehow to control of Odd!" Ulrich yelled as he was deflecting both laser arrows and lasers. "WHAT!" Jeremy gasped. "Are you sure?" He asked. "I am sure of it." Ulrich replied.
Meanwhile Josh had noticed some of the errors from the transfer were similar to the ones he had suppressed when faking Aelita being virtualized. "Jeremy, these errors. I have seen them before when I was acting as a bridge between your laptop and the scanner system." Josh said, realizing something as Yumi came up the ladder.. "I don't know how Xana did it." Ulrich said, still defending himself from Odd. "Based on what Josh found about the errors during the transfer.. That's not the real Odd." Jeremy replied. "What?" Yumi asked, confused. "It's one of XANA's creatures. A polymorphing spectors ." Jeremy replied. "But then, where's the real Odd." Yumi said worried about her friend and what Xana may have done to him. "Josh, you and Yumi should go try and find Odd. He has to be somewhere out in the woods, that's where he was meeting that 'mystery girl'. While you're looking I am going to try and locate his cell phone, which is easy enough but takes a bit of time." Jeremy said. "Jeremy, I am staying here. If Xana 'replaced' Odd on Lyoko to cause issues with decoding Franz Hopper's Diary, then you may need me here for help with the tower." Josh said just when suddenly the super scan blinked for a moment. "I think I may have spoken too soon." Josh added. "Okay, I am off. Call me when you get that information about his phone." Yumi said heading for the elevator to find Odd.
Out at the hermitage, Odd outcold, down in an old disused rainwater basin, and water was slowly filling it. Eventually Odd woke up from the water. "Huh? Oh no." He murmured to himself before trying to climb up the wall of the basin, but the edges of the walls were too smooth for him to get any sort of grip. "Heeey! Is anybody there?! YOO-HOO! HEEELP!" He yelled hoping to get someone's attention.
On Lyoko Urlich was still battling the fake Odd, barely staying ahead of this moves. "Jermey? Is something wrong?" Aeltia asked heading pulsations inside the tower. "Yes. Xana is attempting to take over the tower. Abort the mission." Jeremy said while he was locating Odd's phone. "We've got a problem… I can't stop the decoding process, the program is taking up too many resources and the control program has locked up. It's out of my control now." Aeltia said trying to manage the program. "Bad news. If Xana gets control of the tower, he will have direct access into the restricted access area of the super computer, I could lose all of the data in Franz Hopper's Diary." Jeremy said worriedly. "Not to mention everything you've programmed in yourself! Our combat gear, the vehicles, the transfer codes…." Aelita said, pausing briefly. "and my materialization program." She added. "This is a nightmare." Jeremy said before he called Yumi, having located Odd's phone. "Yumi, I have a fix on Odd's phone, it's in the Northeast corner of the woods." Jeremy said. "That's near the Hermitage." Yumi said, recognizing the area as she ran.
On Lyoko, Ulrich managed to destroy two of the tarantulas before having to try and outrun the fake Odd. "Ulrich how's it going?" Jeremy asked worriedly. "Not well, Xana won't leave me alone at all." Ulrich said just before the fake Odd took out his Overbike. "Well, Xana is about to take control of the tower…" Jeremy said knowing there was nothing they could do. While fighting the fake Odd, Ulrich managed to lay enough hits to devirtualize him. "I am going to go take out that last tarantula." Urlich said super sprinting towards the tower where it had positioned itself. As he approached it the tarantula began firing, taking Urlich slightly off guard and managing to him it, devirtualizing him.
In the lab the superscan flickered between Xana having control of the tower and not having control of it. "Aelita anything new?" Jeremy asked, hoping she had some good news. "Nothing. I can't stop it, everything is bugging up." She said. "Josh, any ideas?" Jeremy asked, hoping for anything. "I could activate a tower myself and fight for control of the tower?" Josh suggested just throwing it out there. "No, that's far too risky. I am not going to endanger one of the team just to protect a tower." Jeremy said, throwing away the idea.
Meanwhile in the woods Yumi eventually found Odd's phone laying on the ground within sight of the Hermitage. She continued walking towards the Hermitage before she started to hear Odd's despite screams for help. "ODD!" She yelled running towards the sound, first finding the running faucet then the basin where Odd was trying to stay afloat and turning it off before heading towards odd.
In the lab, Jeremy and Josh watched as Xana took full control of the tower. "We're done for." Jeremy said, looking down. "NO!" Josh said, hitting the wall with his fist mad at what was occurring.
Seconds later, Xana suddenly lost control of the tower, which took on a white hue and the superscan indicated that Franz Hopper had taken control of it. "Jeremy, what's going on?" Aelita asked, seeing the program beginning to behave itself. "Franz Hopper took control of the tower from Xana. Looks like he is helping us decode his diary." Jeremy said. "That's great news." Aelita said. "And it appears as if the decoder is running at full speed." She added.
At the Hermitage, Yumi managed to lift the heavy metal sewer lid that covered the basin and pulled Odd out of the water. She took out her phone and called Jeremy. "Jeremy, I found Odd, how are things going on your end?" Yumi asked. "A lot better, now that Franz Hopper is helping us." Jeremy replied as he watched the progress on his screen. "Okay, I am going to go to the dorms with Odd. I am sure he will like to get into some dry clothes." Yumi said before hanging up.
In the lab Ulrich and Josh watched behind Jeremy as the decoded eventually completed. "Okay, Aelita, I'm going to bring you back in." Jeremy said setting up and activating Code: Earth. Once Aelita was in the lab Jeremy began talking. "You guys should head back to campus for dinner, I plan on looking through some of Franz Hopper's Diary, I will call yous if I fine anything interesting." Jeremy said smiling, a bit.
Later that night Jeremy had returned to his room and called the whole group to meet him there. "So while looking through Franz Hopper's Diary I found a lot of interesting information, it will take me months to look through it all but I found something important." Jeremy said, sitting down by his computer. "Okay. So what did you find out so far?" Josh asked. "Franz Hopper was indeed the creator of the supercomputer, Lyoko and Xana." Jeremy said. "That means his notes may help you find my anti-virus." Aelita said happily. "It does." Jeremy replied before continuing. "I also learned that Franz Hopper had a daughter, who he virtualized with him onto Lyoko." He said looking towards Aelita. Everyone else in the room gasped a bit in shock at what Jeremy was implying. Aelita stepped back a bit, taking everything Jeremy had just said in. "But… I can't be…" Aelita said to herself. "I think I need to lay down.." She said, overwhelmed by the realization that she used to have a life here on earth. "I can walk you to your room." Josh said. "Okay." Aelita said quietly, leaving with Josh.
