Prologue

A starry sky lay before the heads of anyone watching outside. An old, monotone cat stood atop of a large pile of rocks, staring out to the sky above aimlessly, radiated by the light of a thousand stars cluttered into one spot on the sky. Another cat, more graceful looking than the grey and white cat, came from another pile of rocks, covered in and filled with vegetation. Scarletsight sat beside her leader, Snowstar and looked with him to the sky.

"Hundreds of secrets are out tonight..." She mewed, continuing her staring contest with the sky.

Snowstar meowed dreamily, not bothering to look at the cat sitting next to him, "Tell me what Starclan tells you today, Scarletsight. You have been a trusted source of information for this clan for generations, and nothing has been happening for some time... I have reason to believe something will happen eventually."

Scarletsight grinned, but carry forward, "Everything will happen eventually, we just have to watch out for the worse things," she sighed slightly before continuing, "Hmm... It's hard to tell anything out with all this light." narrowing her eyes, she stretched her head upward so as to better see.

A light breeze pasted over the two, gently rolling the fur of the two cats. Scarletsight continued, "A scratch shall appear, and will bring with it the clan's life."

Snowstar sneered slightly, finally looking to his left to the cat he was sitting with. "Starclan is as descriptive as always, I see..." he meowed strongly.

For a moment, neither of them spoke, just letting the gentle wind cascade over the landscape. Whether or not the cats were thinking about the new prophecy given was inevitable, such a mysterious tale needed more investigation before even understatement was made.

Scarletsight mewed lightly, "Perhaps it means something regarding the death of the clans? Something regarding a mark a cat might have? Maybe even something to do with all the clans becoming one?"

"That would be understandable... I was thinking the same thing, more or less." Snowstar said coolly.

Giving up anything about the prophecy, Scarletsight laid her head against Snowstar's shoulder. Closing her eyes, she slowly fell asleep next to Snowstar. Snowstar sighed lightly, but smiled at the situation. They could always continue the conversation tomorrow... He lifted the heavily sleeping Scarletsight and placed her on his back. With a loud oof, he setted off to Scarletsight's den.

Placing her down lightly, Snowstar licked her head like his mother used to, and returned to his own den. Laying down, he took one last look at the beautiful night sky, and a smile grew large on his face about all the times he and Scarletsight had shared in kithood.
