"Did you really think you could beat me with those pathetic attacks?" Enki said as she looked down on Todoroki's unconscious form. "If you don't come at me with everything, you'll get nothing but burned," she purred as she caressed one of her flame cats. "As for you…" she said as she turned around to see Mineta, who was being circled by two more of her cats. "I have some questions that need answering."
"No way," Mineta gasped, trembling at the sight of the unconscious Todoroki. This time, his defeat wasn't an act. "But how? He's the strongest in our class?" He backed away, slowly reaching for his hair. A cat appeared at his back in a flash of flame, knocking him to the ground.
"He's strong, but he lacks finer control over his ability. He relied too much on raw power," she smiled, "something that I could keep up with. Perhaps if he fought with intent to kill, and not to capture, I might've felt slightly threatened." She walked up to him as her cats blazed then vanished, leaving only the one on Mineta's back. "Now, time for some answers." Her hands were covered in flames forming sharp cat-like claws at the tips of her fingers
Mineta was too scared to even appreciate the view Enki was giving him as she squatted down to look at him eye-to-eye, placing one of her bright claws near the tip of his nose. "Let's start with something simple: where are we?"
It took Menita a second to comprehend the question. "You don't know where you are? How did you ARGH!" He yelled as the claws of the flame cat dug into him. "Ground Beta! This is Ground Beta!" The claws retracted, the fiery pain fading from his back.
"I need something more specific. Where's Ground Beta? I'm sure you understand what's going to happen to you if I don't like your answer." Her much larger claw brushed the end of his nose, singeing the flesh.
"Somewhere on U.A. Property?" He started to panic. "I don't know what you mean? Musutafu? Japan? Earth!?" He started to hyperventilate.
"Cut that out. Calm down, ok?" She leaned closer and looked right in his eyes. This time, he noticed her visible cleavage, not as grand as the other lady, but it still calmed him down. "Now, what's U.A.?" she asked in a far more pleasant tone.
"What's U.A.? The greatest hero school in Japan? How couldn't you know this?" the ignorance offended Mineta.
"Never heard of it." She said dismissively, causing Mineta to gasp. "But I have been away for a couple of years."
"U.A. has been around for at least twenty years."
"Twenty years! That's impossible!" Enki shouted and jumped up. "What year is it?"
"No need to make a fuss, Enki." Enki and Mineta were both startled at the unexpected noise. Out of the shadows, a figure approached. The figure had a head that put most bobbleheads to shame, a head that was easily recognizable for Enki.
"Professor! What do you mean by that? Were we sent to the future?"
"Oh, it's far worse than that, my dear. I thought something like this might happen, given what we were dealing with, but I had hoped it wouldn't happen." Professor said, walking closer and stepping into the light. "Let the student up, Enki. He's not your enemy." The flame cat hopped off of Mineta's back, landing on Enki's shoulder, nuzzling her chin before dissipating.
Mineta carefully stood up, trying to avoid irritating the burns on his back. The man who apparently goes by "Professor" walked over to him and inspected his back. "So who are you guys?" Mineta asked, sensing now was the best moment to ask, when everything has calmed down. "Why are you guys here?"
"That's a complicated question," Professor said, "at least the second one is. As for who I am, I'm Molly. Also known as the Professor!" He gestured to the alley, and another person walked out. At medium height, and a lean figure, the man didn't strike an imposing figure, or even a memorable one. But Enki smiled at the sight of her friend.
"Satoru! You're here too!" Enki gasped as she ran up to him. "It's nice to see you."
"It's nice to see you too," Satoru said. "Do you know who else is here?"
"Jiga, of all people, she should be on the other side of this wall of ice. I'm sure she'll join us eventually. She probably had to fight some people on her side." She glanced at Todoroki and Mineta. "If they were anything like these two then she's probably already finished."
Mineta stiffened, slowly turned around, and started walking away.
"Where do you think you're going?" A cat made of flame leaped in front of him, snarling. Enki stomped up to him. "You're not going anywhere, we need you for information." Mineta's head drooped.
"Perhaps if you could take us to where your teachers are?" Satoru said, smiling at the young boy. "You said this is a school, right?"
It's probably best if I don't let them know about what happened to their friend. He thought. And besides, All Might could easily stop them if they get upset about their friend losing "All right!" Mineta said abruptly, shocking everyone. "Follow me! I'll take you to my teachers!" He started to speed walk towards the exit, which, fortunately for him, was the opposite direction of their friend. He just hoped that they wouldn't ask about her.
"Think we should get Jiga?" Satoru asked as he tried to catch up. "Do you think she is fine?" Enki rolled her eyes.
"I know she's been our ally and all, but she really isn't the easiest to get along with." She started following Mineta. "I'm sure she's fine, these kids aren't the type to kill, so at worst she's just unconscious. If that's what happened, then she deserves it."
Mineta exhaled a breath he didn't even know he was holding. Looks like they aren't as good friends as I thought. But why are they here?
"Did you hear that Mariko?" Kaito said after a roar ripped through the air. "That sounded like Gozu." He couldn't forget a roar like that, a horrifying sound that brought back images of them fighting side by side against Rei's men. "Let's go see what's happening." Kaito headed towards where the sound came from. "Mariko, you coming?" The girl looked at him with unblinking eyes. Her lifeless stare, that was unnerving to most, didn't frighten him. He held her gaze, till it turned from a blank face to one slightly blushing.
"Yes," she replied, looking down as her blush grew stronger and following him. They ran in silence for a while, the sounds of destruction that usually accompany the roar of Gozu were absent. In fact, there haven't been any sounds of combat since a great smash that happened a little after Gozu's loud roar.
"Do you think he's okay?" Kaito asked Mariko as they ran together, her small strides easily keeping up with him. Maiko just nodded her head, not even considering the possibility that he could have be defeated so easily.
"Hey you! Stop!" an unknown voice shouted out at them. They slowed to a stop and turned to see a boy with blond hair with black markings forming a zigzag on one side. A boy wearing some sort of armor accompanied him.
The boy in the armor started waving his arm around. "You aren't supposed to be here! Come with us quietly, where you will answer to our teachers for breaking into school grounds!" He yelled, looking more like a robot than a human.
"Easy kid," Kaito said, hands raised in the air. "We don't want any trouble. We'll follow you. But it sounds like our friend might be in some trouble. So if we can go check on him first…"
"I'm afraid you'll have to come with us." The armored boy interrupted. "Don't make me say it again. You are trespassing on private property. I will warn you we have authorization to use force if you don't come with us."
"Ida," the blond said. "Let's not do anything extreme, especially not with such a cute girl." He winked at Mariko, who gave no discernible response to the poor flirt. Kaito, on the other hand, had a very discernible reaction.
"How about this? You guys leave us alone?" He drew two handguns from his hyperspace, pointing them at the two teens. "And we'll leave you alone. Sounds good?"
Their reaction was immediate. Ida jumped back and dashed into a side alley, leaving the other kid to fend for himself. "Sorry man," the kid said. "I'm afraid we can't do that." With that the boy raised his hands and swung them down. As his hands swung down, electricity followed, and as the bolt shot forward, racing right towards them. Mariko pushed Kaito out of the way and took the full impact. The shock sent her flying back, smashing into a building, leaving a small girl sized hole in the wall.
"Mariko!" Kaito yelled as he fell. He prepared to fire on the boy as soon as he hit the ground, but things didn't go as planned. As he fell, a silver flash tore out of the alley and jumped in the air. Ida did a spinning kick and sent Kaito flying in the opposite direction. His guns fell from his hands as he rolled on the pavement and they landed right in front of the other kid. Who picked them up carefully.
"Shock him Kaminari! Before he does something else!" Ida yelled. Kaminari dashed forwards, jumped and slammed his hands into Kaito's stomach, releasing a powerful charge of electricity.
Kaito screamed for a second before he fell unconscious from the shock. Ida walked over to them and inspected the body. "He's alright, right?" He asked, worried. "That was a lot of power."
Kaminari poked Kaito's torso with his foot, getting a slight groan from Kaito. They released a large sigh. "There, see," he said, a cocky smile on his face. "I got it under control." Ida reached down and picked up one arm of Kaito as Kaminari grabbed the other.
"But what about the young nurse?" Ida asked. "You sent her flying with that initial blast. Don't you think that was a little overboard?"
"That's the thing," Kaminari shook his head. "That much was pretty showy, but not very strong. It should've just made her muscles spasm a bit, effectively paralyzing the target. Not send them flying into a building." Kaminari dropped his half, causing Ida to nearly tip over. "I should probably go check on her." He started for the building she flew into. "And I don't think she's a real nurse, that's probably just a costume she has." He grinned at Ida, a thin eyebrow cocked. "Probably some sort of roleplay between them."
Ida was not amused. "Don't you think she's a little young? This guy looks like he's at least twenty, while she looks fourteen at most." Kaminari shrugged at that.
"I don't know. Maybe she's older than she looks, or maybe he just thinks of her as a little sister?"
"You know she's a trespasser, and probably a villain henchmen to boot." Ida said flatly. "I don't recommend you fall for her."
"Who's falling for who?" He said as he reached the building. Just as he was about to check in the hole, a small arm shot out and grabbed his shirt collar. The thin arm lifted him off his feet and hung him there for a moment. Then Mariko stepped out of the building, looking the same as she always did, albeit a bit more dirty, but that is to be expected when one launches oneself into a building.
"Release Kaminari!" Ida barked as he stepped into a battle stance. "It's over, surrender and we can get your friend here medical treatment." Mariko's unblinking eyes gazed directly into Ida's, then she drew back her hand and punched Kaminari in the stomach. He groaned and vomited, but didn't fall unconscious. It was the second punch that did that.
"Stop!" Ida yelled as he rushed towards her at blinding speed. He planted a foot and spun, sending a kick at Mariko's arm that was holding Kaminari. Mariko calmly raised her other hand and caught Ida's leg. She didn't even shake from the impact. She whipped him into the side of the building, and then flung him at the ground. Ida spat as he stood up into a less sturdy battle stance.
If I wasn't wearing armor I'd have broken my engine. Just how strong is this girl? Can I even beat her? She caught my kick like it was nothing. What can I do… His train of thoughts interrupted by Mariko placing Kaminari on the ground.
"Now you have to go to a doctor," she said. "I'll take Kaito, you can take your friend, and together we can go to a doctor."
"You didn't have to do that!" He shouted. "I was already going to take your friend to a doctor! You didn't have to attack Kaminari!" She simply walked over and picked up Kaito with one hand, then she reached over and picked up Kaminari.
"I'm sorry. I'll carry them both." She waited for Ida to snap out of his shock. "I am the nurse to a very understanding doctor. If we come across him, he will heal your friend."
Ida inspected her face for any amount of deception, but her face was as unreadable as stone. But he didn't think she was lying. "Thank you for the offer," He said, bowing. "But U.A. has a magnificent nurse who can heal him in an instant. There is no need for you to go through all that trouble." The girl only stared in response. What's with this girl? I can't understand her. "I can carry Kaminari, if you don't mind." She handed over the teen and waited for Ida to lead the way. He started in the exit's direction, limping along. This is going to be a much longer walk than expected. If only my leg wasn't hurt — His train of thought once again was interrupted by the girl, but this time it was because she picked him up.
"This will be faster. Tell me where to go." She said simply. Though her tone didn't change, Ida had the feeling that she wouldn't change her mind no matter how much he protested. Swallowing his pride, he pointed her in the right direction.
A true hero should be able to accept help from any source. He thought to himself, trying to convince himself that it was perfectly alright for him to accept help from the girl that not only knocked out his teammate, but was most likely also their enemy, at the very least, she's a trespasser. "Tell me," he said after they made their way towards the exit. "Why did you come here? What is your purpose?"
"I don't know." She didn't respond to any other questions, even though he asked many.
This is going to be a long trip. Kaito thought, having woken up awhile ago but didn't find a good enough time to mention it. I wonder where we are?
