Hello Everyone, so here is a new chapter. I wanted to take this time to address something a few have been saying. Yes, I have watched the newest season and know of the tree and brothers. As for how this knowledge is going to change the course of this fic, not so much. While does bring some interesting topics it does not really affect the story all too much.

xxx Beacon Academy / Cafeteria xxx

"I'm hungry" declared the Cat as he lounged on Jaune's shoulder. The knight had awakened hours before anyone else had and took a quick shower before heading into the cafeteria. His time with the paper pleasers forced the knight to wake up early and it seemed that habit transferred into his younger body.

"We'll get food soon enough" said Jaune.

"Good. Gah, last night just put me in a foul mood. How could those girls not be surprised at me. When I had first met them they were so excited and had so many questions" the Cat grumbled.

"Because that was in Ever After. We aren't in that place and no one except Ozpin knows it even exist at all. To them Alyx and you are nothing more than fairytales, stories told to kids before they went to bed and nothing more" explained Jaune.

Personally he was just relieved that everyone took the semblance lie at face value, while it was true that semblances were varied and unique he had always thought there must have been some sort of limit of what a semblance is before it crossed into magic territory.

"Hmph then maybe I should show just how real I am" said the Cat.

"Don't even try it, Cat. You try anything and I will send you back to Ever After" Jaune warned as he pushed open the doors to the cafeteria.

"Seems to be some people here already. I thought only you would wake up this early" the Cat noticed a few people in the room getting breakfast.

"Not everyone is a late sleeper" replied Jaune as he began grabbing his own food.

"Ahem" the Cat coughed "No cat food this time."

The knight rolled his eyes but grabbed a bowl and filled it with fresh fruit. He took the nearest seat and placed the bowl of fruit nearby. "Hope you choke and die on it."

"You first" said the Cat.

He and Cat began eating. Jaune himself had grabbed a lot, sunny side up eggs, scrambled eggs, multiple links of sausages, hash browns, biscuits & gravy, one of each yogurt brand, and every bit of processed and industrialized food he could get.

Before he met the paper pleasers he was forced to trade food with the local villages or had to hunt his own food. After meeting the paper pleasers they had taken over preparing his meals and while they were excellent chefs—No matter how surprising that sounded—Jaune missed the food back in Remnant.

Hamburgers, hotdogs, mac & cheese, fried chicken, pizza, and all of the other comfort foods of his world. Sure he tried to remake them but no matter how hard he tried the food just didn't taste the same way. When he came back the first place he went to was a buffet as he gorge himself until his belly was full and he needed some pepto bismol.

"Wow, that is a lot of food there. Isn't it Ren?" Jaune choked on biscuit he was eating.

That voice ... Nora.

Images of an orange hair women laughing and fighting alongside him, grieving with him as they mourned their shared lost. Watching her fight her greatest nightmare on the ashes and ruins of her old home. Seeing the scars on her as she overloaded her semblance

Jaune violently shaked his head. NO, don't think about those memories Jaune. You know nothing ever good happens if you think about them for too long.

"It is a large portion but we are also hunters too. We naturally need more nutrients and calories than civilians do" said Ren.

"Well what about this cute Cat. Hey, do you mind if we sit here? I am Nora Valkyrie and this here is my best friend ever, Ren Lie" introduced Nora as she sat down and grabbed the Curious Cat's checks.

"Graaah, get your ... hands ... off me!" slapping the hands away. "Didn't your parents ever tell you that pinching someone is rude!"

"He is right Nora. I'm sorry about my friend, she can touchy when it comes to pets" Ren apologized.

"No no, go ahead I'm not upset" said Jaune.

"Thank you. Your cat is quite odd, it's semblance must be something unique" Ren commented.

"You can say something like that. But where are my manners, I am Jaune Arc and it is nice to meet you" he said.

While he and Ren engaged in a little small talk the Curious Cat shot Nora a dirty look as the girl didn't even look the least apologetic for her actions. "Sorry about that kitty, you just look so adorable and cheeks look so squishable."

"My cheeks are not squishable. My very being was personally handcrafted by the very gods, every part of my existence was meticulously planned out, unlike you. I am a paragon of perfection, the very manifestation of the concept of curiosity given form."

...

"You didn't understand any of that didn't you" the Cat sighed.

"Nope, but I do know that pancakes make everything better. Here have a bite" the women offered a portion of her meal to the Cat.

"Is it good?" Looking at the thing wearily. Who knew what horrible concoctions humans ate.

"Food of the gods Mr. kitty" Nora assured him.

"Hmph, as if the gods need food" scoffed the Cat "But I guess I can give it a try."

The Cat ate the offering.

His eyes widen and his tail stood straight "This is ... this is ... this is amazing!" the Curious Cat took another bite from Nora's plate. "The taste, the texture, perfection just simply perfection! The soft and fluffy pancake mixed with syrup, it becomes of vessel of sweetness" the Cat moaned in pleasure as he took another bite.

"Hahaha! As I said kitty, pancakes are the food of the gods and only idiots think otherwise. Hey Jaune, you okey with me getting some more pancakes for your Cat?" Nora laughed.

He gave her the thumbs up. "Maybe if I am lucky the Cat will die of diabetes."

"So are you ready for initiation?" Jaune asked Ren.

"As much as anyone else can be" replied Ren, remaining quite for the rest of breakfast.

Jaune nodded his head and continued with his meal. He knew that Ren was a man that did not often speak. It was not out of malicious intent but simply that was his personality. 'Why waste so many words when you can use a few to get the same results' was what Ren had once said to him a long time ago.

Finishing his food Jaune took the Cat and headed to the locker room where he had one more person to deal with. Pyrrha, his old partner. An uncomfortable feeling settled on Jaune's chest as he saw his old partner talking to Weiss.

"It is good to see you again, old partner" Jaune thought fondly. Had he been a younger man—before his time in Argus—he may have rushed over to women and hugged her all the while crying and apologizing profusely. Now the only thing he really felt was a dull ache in his chest. He had long since come to terms with her death since the fall of Beacon and so when he saw her again he was not sure what he should be feeling.

Pushing down his emotions he approached the two ladies "Sorry to interrupt but you are in front of my locker" he moved between the two.

"Wait a minute" Weiss narrowed her eyes and then widen them in realization "You're the man with the talking Cat!"

"The Curious Cat, thank you very much" said the Cat on top of Jaune's shoulder.

"Do you not know who I am talking to right now?" Weiss demanded to know.

"Who, her?" Jaune asked and pointed a thumb at Pyrrha.

"Yes her. Pyrrha Nikos, the champion of the Mistral tournament" said Weiss.

"Never heard of it" Pyrrha looked at the knight with curiosity.

"One of the greatest students in sanctum" Weiss tried.

"Sanctum?" Pyrrha made a small smile.

"She's on the front box of Pumpkin Pete" Weiss looked exasperated at the knight.

"... That some sort of cereal brand?" That small smile turned into a full blown one.

"I give up. I see that trying to eduCate you is fool's errand" the Schnee shook her head and then addressed Pyrrha "I hope that we make it on the same team miss Nikos. I believe that both of us will make a powerful combo."

"We will see Weiss" said Pyrrha as the Schnee left the two of them.

"Jaune Arc" he introduced himself "So are you supposed to some sort of important person?"

"No" said Pyrrha quickly "Just, um, well I am a little bit famous in my home. Entered into a tournament near my home once and got first place. Nothing special I assure you."

"Well you seem like a nice person Pyrrha. Hope we can meet up later after initiation" said Jaune as he finished prepping his gear.

"Yes, I hope so to" agreed Pyrrha.

xxx Beacon Academy / Emerald Forest / Cliff xxx

"So this is where the initiation will take place" said the Cat as he looked around the green forest. Compared to Ever After it was quite dull. Jaune did not reply back and waited for the headmaster to speak.

"For years, you have trained to become warriors, and today, your abilities will be evaluated in the Emerald Forest" addressed Ozpin to the crowd of students in front of him.

"Now, I'm sure many of you have heard rumors about the assignment of "teams." Well, allow us to put an end to your confusion. Each of you will be given teammates ... toady" said Glynda.

"These teammates will be with you for the rest of your time here at Beacon. So it is in your best interest to be paired with someone with whom you can work well. That being said, the first person you make eye contact with after landing will be your partner for the next four years" Ozpin explained.

Jaune ignored the cries from Ruby and the muttering from the rest of the crowd.

"After you've partnered up, make your way to the northern end of the forest. You will meet opposition along the way. Do not hesitate to destroy everything in your path... or you will die. You will be monitored and graded through the duration of your initiation, but our instructors will not intervene.

You will find an abandoned temple at the end of the path containing several relics. Each pair must choose one and return to the top of the cliff. We will regard that item, as well as your standing, and grade you appropriately. Are there any questions?" explained Ozpin.

The Curious Cat raised his paw "Yes, I do. How will we be getting to the forest? Will we be taking a bullhead or climbing down the mountain?"

"No. You will be falling" said Ozpin.

"I see" smiled the Cat ... until he realized what the immortal said. "Forgive me, but for a second there I thought you said we would be falling. I must have misheard something."

"No. You heard correctly"

The Cat looked fearful "Ozpin you do understand my predicament, do you? Surely we can come to a different solution, we are wise men you and me."

"I am fully confident that you will find a good landing strategy" Slowly the Cat watched as each of the other students launched off their jump pad.

"You've have gone mad, all these years have finally broken your sanity" stated the Cat "Do you think that this fool knows a landing strategy!? He is more likely to charge into danger then avoid it! I'm doomed, I'm going straight back to Ever After and be forced to wait for who knows how long for another mortal to arrive."

Ozpin sipped from his mug.

When the last student before them was launched the Cat glared at the Ozpin. "I hate you."

The immortal smirked.

"OOOZZZZZMMmaaaaa" yelled the Cat as he and Jaune launched into the sky.

"... I love my job"

xxx

"If we survive this I will personally rend the flesh off Ozma and then find his next host in which I will force him to watch as I take it over and tear it from the inside out!" the Cat screamed. Clutching onto the knight's armor for his dear life.

"Please tell me you have strategy!" the Cat demanded to know.

"I don't have any of old upgrades from Atlas so their goes that. Hm, been a long time since I needed a proper landing strategy. Most of the time I just reinforced my legs with aura and that was enough" said Jaune.

"That doesn't sound like a landing strategy to me!"

"Well the best idea I have is that I am going to explode my legs" during his time in Ever After he had been experimenting with his aura. Recalling his lessons from Beacon he knew that users needed to emit their aura around their body like a force field, it was not a natural thing unless it was a life or death situation.

It was specialist Vine that opened the idea of physically manifesting aura besides as a force field. While Vine relied on his semblance to manifest his aura he still was an expert on the field and gave team JNPR the fundamentals. From there he began experimenting, learning how to concentrate his aura, turning it into a physical shape and how to maintain it during battle. He first use of it was replacing the upper portion of crocea mors when it shattered against Cinder's blade.

Then he started expanding and testing what was the limits of aura. One technique born from his experiments was manifesting an orb of pure aura that he could detonate. Now it may not seem like a good move, at first glance that is.

What if he created an orb at the tip of his blade just before it hit? Or maybe before slamming someone with his shield? Better yet, when someone was holding him down?

Combined with his massive aura reserves and semblance—Aura AmplifiCation—such a technique was extremely devasting. His entire being was a weapon. And that wasn't even scratching the different moves he had.

For this moment the orb technique was good. His goal was to channel two orbs at the bottom of his feet and then a timed detonation. The force should slow him down.

"Explode your legs! Of course the last person I want to be tied to is suicidal on top of everything else. No, no there must be a way out of this. I refuse to have my goals end here, this must be a way, there must" the Cat hissed.

~Thump~ ~Thump~

Something was wrong. Jaune raised a hand over his chest as he felt something off in his chest. A cold and foreign feeling, like someone poured icy water on his chest but inside of it. The foreign feeling suddenly spread across his body, he felt his entire body energized more than it ever had.

Suddenly the world looked ... different. Brighter? Clearer? He was not sure what to say as he felt the foreign energy flood into his feet when a burst a pixel-like fire erupted slowly him down considerably, or at least stopping him from falling at terminal velocity.

The two of them cried as they tumbled into the ground and slammed into nearest tree.

"W-What in the world was that! Cat, explain yourself!" demanded Jaune standing up.

"Me!? I did nothing you fool, I thought you were the one that had a 'landing strategy' after all" making air quotes at the knight.

"Well for some reason I felt something off, like some kind of ... foreign thing spread across my body and then all of a sudden my legs caught on fire" Jaune looked at his legs which looked surprisingly fine. He saw no scorch marks.

"Really? In that case I have no idea. Don't look to me to find an answer to all of your woes" said the Cat. The Curious Cat then squinted at Jaune tilting it's head "Is it me or do you seem different?"

"What do you mean?"

"You have ..." the Cat motioned his eyes. Jaune narrowed his eyes but took off his helmet, the Cat kept pointing to his eyes. Rubbing his eyes Jaune felt nothing out of the ordinary but took out his scroll to use its reflective surface to see his face.

His upper face was covered in a mask of flame like pixels in the same color as the Cat.

Jaune screamed loudly and quickly put his helmet back on. That flame-like mask, he had seen that flame-like mask multiple time in his life and in his worst nightmares. The maidens, or more specifically magic. "Impossible, t-that can't be at all. How in the world do I have magic!?"

"So that is how humans manifest magic, so that must explain the odd feeling I felt" the Cat found itself slammed into the tree as Jaune squeezed his body tightly.

"Explain" he hissed.

"Ever the one to use force aren't you? But if you must know, when we were falling and panicking I felt a portion of my power being drained away. When I heard you say magic I realized that you somehow drew on my magic or perhaps I gave you it myself" explained the Cat.

"Well take it back. I don't have time to deal with this bullshit" he ordered. He had long since become accustomed to magic and fully knew the dangers of it and those that wielded it. The impliCations of being able to use magic was massive and right now he needed to focus was passing the initiation.

"As if I know how to do that. Besides, shouldn't you be thanking me for saving your worthless hide?" the Cat bit back as it separated itself to escape Jaune's grip. "You are nothing more than a suicidal fool who runs into problem after problem without a care of the world. No wonder everyone you love dies! All Cinder or Neo needs to do is dangle someone in front of you with vat of boiling oil underneath them and you'll go running to save them all the while blind to what is happening around you!"

"Thanking you!? I would rather slit my throat here and now before I ever accept anything coming from you. As if you understand what means to save someone or care about them! All you do is destroy or manipulate, most of time it's both" Jaune yelled back.

"As if I should care about you humans or faunus? All of you are nothing more than worthless piles of meat. Nothing more then failed experiments, no wonder my creators annihilated your species once. The sheer stupidly and self-righteousness must have been nauseating" the Cat retorted.

"And you think your perfect" Jaune challenged.

"Of course I am" said the Cat.

"Then in that case why did they leave you?" Jaune took pleasure seeing the monster frown "Because you are nothing more than a useless tool. If mankind is failed experiment than you are an expired product!"

"How dare you!" the Cat seethed. Eyes turning black and white.

"You wanna go!? Bring it on!" roared Jaune.

...

Both Cat and knight roared and charged at each other. Grabbling and attempting to choke the other to death.

As the two fought each other the trees and bushes rustled as Weiss Schnee walked into the scene. Looking at the two of them in shock and horror "What in the world is this? Do you two realize that you are—"

Weiss never got to finish her sentence as Jaune grabbed the Cat threw it at the tree behind and then shoulder charged the Cat hitting it's stomach. The Cat responded by letting out a magic empowered roar pushing him back as it leapt on his chest and began scratching.

The Schnee looked at the duo and came to the understanding that neither of them seemed to acknowledge her existence. Her face turning red at the slight "Hello! Excuse me! Do any of you realize what you are doing right now? For all things dust will either of you—"

"SHUT UP AND MOVE ALONG" both yelled as they kept fighting.

Weiss glared at the two of them as she let out a huff. Pointing her chin up she walked away from scene. Were all Valeans like that? Weiss hoped it was not true or else she may have made a mistake coming here to Beacon.

Minutes passed after Weiss had left when both knight and Cat slowed down and then finally stopped their fighting. Both of them were tired at the useless attempt at fighting. The Cat could not kill Jaune because of the familiar bond and Jaune could not kill the Cat because it was an Afteran.

"This is not going to work out" said Jaune first.

"As much as it pains me to say it ... agreed" second the Cat.

"So does that mean the two of you are done?" Pyrrha asked. The two looked at redhead in shock "Oh I'm sorry, was I interrupting something?"

"How long have been watching?" demanded the Cat.

"Um, five minutes" Pyrrha answered. "So I guess that means I am going to be your partner then" she addressed Jaune.

"Yeah, I guess so. Good to meet you Pyrrha" said Jaune. The knight then turned to the Cat "We'll deal with this later, Cat. Right now let's just get this initiation done with."

The curious Cat said nothing but opted to leap on the champion's shoulder and rest there. Glaring at the knight but remaining silent.

...

"I guess you two have some issues" said Pyrrha.

"You can say something like that" said Jaune/Cat at the same time. The two paused and looked at each other. Shaking his head the knight pointed at the direction to what he remembered was the correct direction, hopefully.

"So, nice day isn't it?" said Pyrrha hoping to break the silence between the group.

"Alright" said Jaune.

"I've seen better" said the Cat.

"Ah, I see ... how nice" well that died quickly. Unsure if she should try again Pyrrha kept quite as they continued walking until reaching a cave. Jaune stopped at the cave and stared at it.

"This feels familiar" muttered Jaune.

"You think the relic is in there?" Pyrrha asked.

"Pfft, as if Ozpin would place the relic of ch—Erm, I mean maybe" said Jaune correcting himself quickly.

"Well why don't we try. Nothing like a little mystery to spice things up" said the Cat as it leaped off Pyrrha shoulder and walked into the cave. Pyrrha looked at the knight and shrugged her shoulders as she followed the Cat. Her partner followed after her.

"So where did you train Jaune?" Pyrrha asked hoping to make small talk, again.

"Self-taught. I had a trainer who showed me the basics but I mostly learned by myself" replied Jaune. "I had a long time to learn and grow stronger. What about you?"

"Personal trainer, I was just really lucky that the man was interested in me. He taught everything I knew" said Pyrrha. That piqued the knights interest, Pyrrha had never talked much about where she learned in his past life. He had assumed it was during her time in sanctum or maybe during her tournament fights.

"What was his name?"

The women shaked her head "I'm sorry. But my master doesn't like it when I tell who I trained with, he always despised the idea of becoming popular and made it rule not to tell his name."

Intense. Did the man have some sort of crippling fear of popularity? He knew Pyrrha never loved her fame and could only image if others knew his name.

"Are you two done? I think I found our relic" the Cat pointed to the glowing orb in front of them. The Cat reached out for it when it moved back. Trying it again it did the same thing once more. "Crafty thing aren't you? Well how about this" crouching the Curious Cat leapt, grabbing the orb in its claws.

"For some reason I am getting a strange sense of Déjà vu" said Jaune.

The cave started to shake and multiple glowing red eyes glared at the Cat. A terrible hiss echoing out.

"Ah, now I remember. RUN"

Both Jaune and Pyrrha booked it as the Cat teleported after them. Bursting out of the cave was a death stalker as the grimm chased after pair. "Deathstalker, how could I forget the deathstalker" Jaune chided himself.

"Don't judge yourself harshly. We could not have known" said Pyrrha. No, she was very wrong. He did in fact know about the deathstalker, the only problem was that memory only kicked in at the last moment.

Surely his memory was not that bad ... right?

Pushing away the potential mid-life crisis Jaune tried to remember what happened after this. He knew it was something, something. Grimm? Right, there was grimm involved and a nevermore too if he recalled right. But there was still something else that was just on the tip of his tongue but he just could not recall.

"Hey look, a falling human" said the Cat.

Ah right, Weiss. He knew he was forgetting someone else. "Pyrrha, hold off the death stalker. I need to Catch Weiss. Also you may want to move away from me, don't want you in the blast radius" drawing his aura out he created two orbs on the bottom of his feet and detonated them. The blast blew away dirt and rubble as Jaune, and the Cat, were launched straight into the air.

The two soared and rapidly approached Weiss. Extending his arms Jaune grabbed the screaming women and created more aura orbs and detonated them in rapid succession. Each one weaker than the one he used to initially fly. Each one slowed him and Weiss down and when they reached the ground he skidded across the grass, free of any damage.

"You okay?" he asked putting Weiss down.

"I am fine. Thank you" Weiss thanked him.

He nodded and turned to see the relics, the non-dangerous type, sitting on different pillars. He wasted no time and took the last one standing. Just at the same time when Pyrrha emerged with the deathstalker still chasing her and if that wasn't worse he heard the distant cry of a nevermore too.

"Pyrrha" greeted Jaune as his partner was thrown in front of him. He quickly helped her up. Looking around he saw the rest of his team and team RWBY all around. The knight felt a slight flare of annoyance looking at his friends. Were they really just staring and doing nothing? Worse, he saw a few of them engaging in small talk of all things, small talk!

Was his friends really this bad? He thought back at the professionalism displayed, how none of them wasted any time during their battles in Haven and Atlas. "Hey! No time for small talk people. We have two grimm on us so quit wasting time."

"You two" pointing to Ren and Nora "Are with me. We will handle the death stalker and team RWBY can handle the nevermore. Let's go people."

"Team RWBY?" asked Yang. "Are you talking about us?" she referenced herself and the other girls.

"Why team? I thought initiation was about getting our partners and getting into Beacon" said Blake. "Besides why the 'W'? That doesn't spell ruby."

"Maybe the 'W' is silent?" offered Yang.

"That would not make sense. If you take the 'W' away then it still does not spell ruby" retorted Weiss.

"Well what if you took out the middle part of the 'W' and curved the other sides? That could make the name work" offered Ruby.

"That makes absolutely no sense. You can't just—"

"—Enough!" barked Jaune "Ruby, get your team ready to deal with the nevermore. There should be more ruins up ahead so use them as cover or something else. Got it? Great. Everyone else, follow me."

The knight ignored Weiss's objects and Ruby's questions as he and the rest of team JNPR followed after him. Making their way to the death stalker the grimm let out a hiss and went for a stab with its stinger. As the others dodged out of the way Jaune did not. Activating his semblance at the last moment he grabbed the stringer with one hand and held it there.

The grimm tried to pull it's stringer back to avail as it hissed at the human in anger.

"Everyone, semblances and weapons" ordered Jaune. He started with pointing at Ren.

The man snapped out his shock and told Jaune "Duel submachines guns with daggers attached to them. My semblance allows me to mask negative emotions and I can extend it to others."

Jaune pointed to Nora "Grenade launcher that can transform into a hammer. My semblance allows me to convert electricity into strength."

Finally, Pyrrha "I use a sword and shield combo. My blade can turn into a spear and rifle. As for my semblance ... I don't think it would be of any use."

"Perfect, just what I need" Jaune grinned underneath his helmet. At this time the death stalker had grown tired of trying to pull its stinger out and opted to charge at the human and force him to let go. Instead of showing any sign of moving the knight gripped the stringer until cracks formed. With a single heave Pyrrha, Nora, and Ren watched in awe as the rusted knight threw the grimm over his head and onto the other side as it tumbled.

"Aura AmplifiCation. Allows me to strengthen my aura's innate abilities to higher levels" Jaune answered for them. "Now why our grimm friend is busy getting up I will tell you guys me plan. Nora, do you have any smoke grenades or anything that can obscure it's vision?"

The ginger gave a smirk and procured a cannister from her skirt.

"Good, when I give the signal you fire it. When that happens I want Ren to use his semblance to mask our presence. Afterward I want Pyrrha and Nora to begin cutting it down starting with the joints in its legs. Pyrrha, you think you can take out its eyes now?" explained Jaune.

The champion shifted her blade into its rifle state and began firing in rapid succession. Within moments the grimm screamed in agony as its eyes spattered into red mist. "Is that enough?" she asked.

"Perfect. Oh and Nora, Catch" the rusted knight tossed Nora something. As she caught Nora a gave grin as she showed a medium sized lightening dust crystal. "Nora ... now!"

Nora let out battle roar and fired at the cannister. The cannister was fired in an arc and rolled in front of the grimm quicky releasing smoke and obscuring its damaged vision. Ren went next and activated his semblance as they all watched their colors be replaced by different shades of grey. "I won't be able to fight and please avoid bringing the fighting to me or else I won't be able to maintain my semblance" warned Ren.

"Got it. Pyrrha, Nora, with me" ordered Jaune. The three of them charged the grimm as they began attacking the grimm focusing on the parts that were the least protected. Without any ability to see the deathstalker attacked widely and hopes of hitting someone one. The three of them easily dodged out of the way and quicky cut down its multiple legs.

Push more aura and activating his semblance Jaune punched the deathstalker and pushed it onto its back. He ordered both girls to finish the grimm off. Both of them jumped into the air as Nora took hold of the lightening dust given to her and pushed her aura into it causing the crystal to glow brightly and release its power. "Now we're talking!" the women yelled as she felt her strength grow tenfold.

Pyrrha channeled her aura into her spear as it briefly glowed and angled herself so that she would hit the head of the grimm.

Pyrrha threw her spear as Nora slammed her hammer. The grimm instantly died the moment the spear punctured through its soft underbelly and into its head. And if the spear hadn't killed it then Nora's hammer would have as the grimm's chest caved into itself causing the grimm to go still before dissolving in front of them all.

"Nice job everyone" Jaune was happy to see his plan work out and from the corner of his eye he could see team RWBY approaching them with proud looks on their faces. "Come, let's get this initiation over with."

"—Ruby Rose, Weiss Schnee, Blake Belladonna, and Yang Xiao Long. I hereby declare you as team RWBY and your leader being Ruby Rose" Ozpin announced as the four girls stepped down.

Jaune and his team stepped up to the podium.

"Jaune Arc, Pyrrha Nikos, Nora Valkyrie, and Lie Ren. Having acquired the knight piece you shall be team JNPR and your leader will be Jaune Arc" announced Ozpin as the crowd gave their final applause. Jaune just felt glad that this was all over and that now they could continue with the rest of their plan. As he was about to leave the stadium he felt a hand on his shoulder stopping him and saw it was Ozpin holding him back.

"Forgive me but I have one last thing to say. I am happy to announce that I have taken Mr. Arc over here as my official apprentice starting today" declared Ozpin.

...

"What"
