Note: Thank You
Hey guys, if you were expecting a new chapter, I have some bad news. I decided to end the side stories as I don't have any new ideas to tell, plus I figure there isn't much to tell really as things are pretty much finished for the characters. I know you might be disappointed, but to be honest I really don't want to drag this story further as I don't want to disappoint the fans. Besides, it's best I work on my other projects that I'm writing before I fully commit to the remake. But anyways the side stories have been one of my most interesting works, as I got to explore some additional moments or rather some cut content I didn't put in the original series. Heck I even thought of writing a chapter based on Draco Malfoy, but the problem is that to me, Draco wasn't really as important to the story until the sixth and seventh volume. Some other ideas I had included something happening around the seventh year where Naruto actually meets his future self or rather an alternate version from a dark future, a chapter showing him and the others doing their jobs, or even a beach trip. I know I'm rambling, but those were some of the ideas I had before I decided to end this story.
Anyways, since I cleared that up, I might as well go behind the scenes of the series. What inspired me to write this series was when I actually bought the 8 movie collection. After I bought it, I thought of something: Had there been a crossover between Harry Potter and Naruto? I searched it up and sure enough I found some good ones. The three stories that inspired me the most were Ninja X Witch, Arch Mage Jinchuuriki, and Naruto and the Prisoner of Azkaban(which was sadly deleted as I loved that one). As I read those fanfiction stories, I noticed the most common trope was the fact that Naruto was shipped with Hermione. To me, I actually loved that ship as it was unexpected but it was sweet, just by how the two were written together despite the fact that some people would've found it weird(but who knows really). Besides, I think they go well together, despite them belonging in different franchises, universes, etc.
After reading those stories, I decided that I actually want to write a fanfic series. I brainstormed first before officially writing the series and I vowed to go all the way up to the seventh volume. The first two volumes were meant to be exactly like the first two books of the actual series as there wasn't anything worth changing, albeit there were some changes. But the third volume served more as a soft reboot in a way. As for the fourth volume, I noticed how most people didn't like the ending and frankly it was meant to be controversial as just because one character was spared doesn't mean that there shouldn't be consequences. Luckily the rest of the volumes turned out well, so that was a bonus. To me, my favorite volumes to work on were 3, 5, 6, 7, and I'm sure most of you agree that those volumes were the best in the series. As for volume 7, that was my magnum opus. Regarding the remake, I'm thinking of setting the remake in a modern day timeline, maybe the 2000s or 2010s, but I'll think about it. I have to plan out the remake before fully committing to it and luckily I have some ideas. But if that doesn't work, maybe an eighth volume or spinoff focusing on the kids, who knows really.
To be honest, I didn't think I would want to continue, but your guys' support was what drove me to finish the series and I wouldn't have made it this far without you all. So on behalf of me
