Chapter 5 - Battle of the Three Generations
On Vilgax's ship, Carl fired lasers from a green bazooka he kept in the attic, at Vilgax. Albedo was bound in energetic rings, watching helplessly as Carl fired.
"I'm warning you, Vilgax," Carl said. "Leave this planet now. You're dealing with the son of a Plumber here."
Vilgax shielded himself from the bazooka's blasts.
"You're a fool to challenge me, Tennyson," Vilgax brooded. "As soon as I enable the Omnitrix and use it for my army, there will be nothing to stand in my way. You and your mate will be finished, just like that darling offspring of yours."
"All you did was knock Ben into a state of unconsciousness," Sandra retorted.
"And destroy the restraining anklet he had on," Carl added.
"No matter," Vilgax replied. "He will be gone soon anyway." He deflected the bazooka away from Carl. "You, my prey, have no future." With that he aimed his laser gun at Carl. "Any last words, earthling?"
Just then, Vilgax received a missile barrage to the face. He came to and saw an evolved Vaxasaurian, who had just fired missiles from its barrel knuckles.
"Leave my family alone, Vilgax," the evolved Vaxasaurian said, in a voice that sounded like Humungousaur. It was Ultimate Humungousaur, Ben's evolved Vaxasaurian powerhouse.
"Ben?" Carl said in realization.
"Stand back, Dad," Ultimate Humungousaur replied. "I've got this."
"What are you doing out of your room, young man?" Sandra asked, crossing her arms. "Don't you realize that you're blowing off your punishment again?"
"I only did it to save your sorry butts," Ultimate Humungousaur replied. "But now's not the time for an argument. I have a universe to save, so back off."
"I see you've received the Ultimatrix, Tennyson," Vilgax brooded, "which can evolve the aliens you transform into, into their ultimate forms."
"You catch on quick, don't you, Vilgax?" Ultimate Humungousaur replied.
"But evolved or not," Vilgax replied back, "you're still no match for me."
"Oh, yeah?" Ultimate Humungousaur replied before deactivating the Ultimatrix on his chest and reverting to Ben. "Try this on for size!"
With that, he activated the Ultimatrix again and transformed, this time, into an Appoplexian, a tailless humanoid tiger-like creature from Appoplexia.
"Let me tell ya somethin', Vilgax!" he replied in a wrestler-like tone. "You have no right to invade my home planet or threaten my folks, and you've picked the wrong time to mess with Rath!"
With that, Rath picked Vilgax up and threw him aside, knocking him out for a few seconds. As he came to, he wiped his lips.
"So, you've gone Appoplexian," he said as he got to his feet. "No matter. I can still take you on."
"How about you take me on as well, you overgrown octopus?" Max's voice suddenly got Vilgax's attention.
Max stood holding the bazooka with a determined smile on his face.
"Grandpa?" Rath said, surprised.
"Dad?" Carl added.
"Sorry I'm late, son," Max replied. "Mom said that Ben was in need of help, so I came."
"I don't believe it," Rath said, walking to Max. "You're alive. But how? The Null Void Projector…"
"Only transported me and that Highbreed commander to the Null Void," Max finished for his grandson. "And it's going to take more than a hundred-foot blast to take me out."
"Very well," Vilgax brooded. "I'll destroy you all."
Max looked at his family.
"What do you say, you two? Three-on-one?"
Carl and Ben looked at each other, then, smiling, nodded.
"Let's do it," Carl agreed.
"And I think you're going to need this, honey," Sandra replied, handing Carl the Omnitrix.
"The Omnitrix?" Carl said, surprised. "Sandra, how did…?"
"I threatened that doppelgänger of Ben's with the same intimidating look I gave Ben a couple nights ago," Sandra replied. "He reluctantly surrendered it using the voice command code he gave to remove it from Ben."
Carl smiled at his wife and put the Omnitrix on his wrist.
"DNA match confirmed," the voice on the Omnitrix said.
"Time to make use of this doohickey," Carl said, activating it.
With that, Carl transformed into a Polymoph, a gelatinous humanoid creature supported by a floating device, from Viscosia.
"Goop?" Rath facepalmed. "Really, Dad?"
"We'll discuss it later, Ben," Goop replied.
"Three against one, huh?" Vilgax said, "I'll take those odds."
With that, the battle of the three generations began—Vilgax vs. Max, Carl and Ben Tennyson.
