Chapter 2
Izuku's eyes opened slowly, trying to get his eyes to focus. As he lay on the lumpy bed, he finally got to look about. It seemed like he was in a clinic or infirmary. At first he thought it was the Recovery Girls room at UA, but the environment was the same. There were books strewn throughout the room, unlike Recovery Girls, who always kept the room rather clean. This place seemed rather cluttered. Finally sitting up, he realized that he was no longer in his hero suit. Looking about, he could see his clothes folded upon one of the tables in the corner.
He slowly swung his legs off the bed, his body feeling stiff. He placed a hand upon his head as he began to think about what could have possibly happened. "It seems Fa Gin reacted negatively to that explosion." the third inheritor said within Izuku's mind. "You still had energy in your leg and it blasted you outwards."
"How far, do you think?" izuku asked, out loud.
"Far enough." the third inheritor said. "Fa jin and that explosion forced you out." Izuku scratched his check in thought. How far was far? He had no idea where he ended up. All he could remember was the blast and the sudden bright light. Next thing he knows he's waking up here in this room. Inside his mind the other inheritors were discussing the possibility of where he ended up. He wasn't really paying attention, though. He needs to get moving. If All for One found him, everyone there could be in danger. Grabbing his gear he started putting them on, piece by piece. He wasn't all that surprised to find that the only piece of gear that wasn't removed from him was the full Gauntlets. Not many knew how to take those things off of him. While he was putting his boots on his feet, he heard the door to the exam room open.
"Hello." the man said as he entered the room. "My name is Doctor Tofu Ono. I am the doctor of this Clinic. I guess I'm the only doctor of this clinic." he started to laugh, scratching the back of his head.
Izuku looked the man up and down for a second, gaging how he should react. Most people wouldn't act this way. Not with everything that's been going on, at least. "What's going on?" izuku asked, preparing to run if he had to. There was a chance this person could be working with All for One.
The doctor seemed to sense Izuku's defensiveness because he stopped laughing almost immediately. "Sorry, I don't understand. Someone found you falling from the sky and brought you here. I'm sure it's quite jarring for you, but please calm down. I still need to check you before you can leave." he said, holding his hands in the air. A sign of peace or that he wasn't going to harm Izuku, but he couldn't take any chances. Izuku took a step back, keeping his arms close and ready for a fight.
"Check me for what, exactly?" izuku asked, his voice shaking. He didn't know if his body could handle a fight right after waking up, but if he didn't have a choice he would.
Tofu noticed how stiff Izuku's body was becoming. He kept his hands in the air before walking over to the desk in the corner, his eyes never leaving izuku's. "I need to check you for injuries. You were pretty beat up when you arrived." he reached down into the trash bin and picked up a shard of some kind. "This was in your glove when you got here, I want to make sure you are recovering from whatever happened to you." izuku knew what it was. It was a piece of his phone, when lady nagant shot it, a piece must have gotten stuck in this glove. Looking down at his hands, they looked fine, for the most part. Beaten up from all the damage he's done to himself, but other than that he was fine.
"I noticed the scarring on your shoulder and hand, though I couldn't see it all with the red band around your arms. I couldn't find a way to remove them, but you seem to be able to move just fine with them." Tofu continued, "I have never even heard of scaring like that, let alone seen it. And I can tell you, I've seen some outlandish injuries in my time here in Nerima."
Izuku's eyes were fixed on his right hand, at the deformed fingers. He wasn't getting any hits from danger sense, so this doctor was genuine, at the very least. "I'm sorry. But I can't stay, '' he said finally. Doctor tofu noticed Izuku's form relaxing slightly and he sighed to himself.
"Why not?" he asked, honestly.
Izuku looked out the window, trying to make sure no one was trying to sneak up on the clinic, though he probably didn't need to, danger sense would tell him what he needed to know. "I… I just can't. If I stay too long, you could be in danger and I won't allow that."
"In danger from what?"
That question shouldn't have stopped izuku, let alone affect him. Most people didn't care one way or another about what was happening, but his tone. It sounded as if the idea of being in danger was ludicrous. Izuku looked to the good doctor, whose face was showing clear signs of confusion. "Haven't you heard?" izuku asked. He had a feeling he wasn't going to like this conversation.
"Heard what?" Tofu asked, his curiosity peaked. Having lived in Nerima long enough, he knew the outlandish and crazy happened on a regular basis, so whatever was bothering this kid wasn't going to be off the wall.
Izuku sighed before locking eyes with Tofu. "Tartarus was broken into. The villains locked up there are free and running across japan." izuku had expected doctor tofu to look scared or terrified, maybe give a disclaimer of doubt or something. What he didn't expect was for Tofu to laugh.
"Tartarus? From Greek mythology?" he said in between laughs.
"No, the prison!" izuku shouted, almost desperate. "You know? The maximum state prison for the most vile of villains?"
Once more tofu laughed, though lighter this time. "Oh man. Is this some kind of game between you and Saotome? I didn't know he had a sense of humor like this!" he said, laughing even harder.
Izuku felt himself shaking. Not because of anger, but because of fear. 'Far enough' third had said. With desperation, Izuku said, "how do you not know about tartarus!? What about the heroes? Do they know I'm here?"
At this point, tofu stopped laughing. He could hear it in Izuku's voice. He was telling the truth, or at least he thought he was. The boy was scared. "Heroes? Who are they?" tofu asked.
That one sentence made Izuku's head spiral. No tartarus, no heroes. Nothing. 'Far enough'. He hadn't gotten blasted to a different district, he got blasted to another world all together. He felt his legs buckle. He found himself kneeling on the floor, his eyes wide. Tofu charged forward, grabbing a hold of Izuku's shoulders. He could see shock in the boy's eyes and in a matter of minutes, Izuku once more found himself blacking out. Tofu caught the boy before he fell over, lifted him up and placed him once again on the bed.
It didn't take very long for him to start moving again. Tofu, deciding it was probably better to stay until izuku awoke again, took a seat next to the bed. Izuku awoke slowly, once more raising himself up. His eyes fell upon doctor tofu for a second before he looked away. "Im stuck here. Aren't I?" he asked. At first tofu was going to answer him, but saw the boy as tears began to form in his eyes. "Then what can I do?" he asked, his voice desperate. He stopped for a moment before his shoulders slumped. "Could… could i… recreate the moment?" Tofu slowly began to leave the room.
"It's possible." the first said. "We must figure out how you got here and if it even can be recreated."
"Ya! Stay calm!" the voice of the fifth, Daigoro Banjo, came into focus. "All we have to do is find someone strong enough to give ya blasted like that explosion and have enough energy in Fa Jin to send you back!"
"It's not a terrible plan." Said the third. "However, you must recover before attempting that. The first explosion nearly killed you, you will need to make a full recovery before we attempt it."
"Agreed." said sixth, En. "In the meantime, you can train your body and find someone who has the power to send you home."
Izuku listened in, following everything they were telling him. So for the meantime, he was going to have to try and keep himself from trouble until he was one hundred percent again. And unlike back home, he couldn't use Recovery Girl to put it on the fast track. He was going to have to heal the old fashioned way. He stood up from the bed, dusted himself off before making his way to the exit. As he exited, he saw the doctor from earlier. "I'm sorry." izuku started, giving a bow. "But I really must be going."
Tofu frowned for a moment before giving a nod. He returned to his room, leaving Izuku to do as he wished. It wasn't really hard to find the exit. All he had to do was walk out the front door. He could feel the brisk fall air as it swept past him. Reaching into one of the pockets of the suit, Izuku pulled out a spare mask and collapsible face guard. Not as good as the original, but it should do fine. Until he can figure out where he is and what to do, he should be fine. Slipping both on, he used blackwhip to try and give himself a better view of the new city he has found his way into.
Two days latter:
Not much was known about the new stalker of Nerima Ward. All anyone said was that if you saw him, he looked like a demon, clad in green. To be fair this person, or whatever he was, didn't really do anything. They just saw him and would run off. It was said that some of the nearer districts to Nerima were getting cleaned up though, the police were having a high rate of catching criminals. Though it wasn't really catching criminals if they were just being dumped at the front door of the police station.
When they were questioned, all anyone would say was it was a demon who caught them. This was also part of the reason that Ranma was becoming very bored of this conversation. He gave a giant yawn as Hiroshi and Daisuke were discussing this new found 'demon'.
"Come on Ranma! This is big news!" Hiroshi was saying, pointing to the newspaper he was holding.
"Ya man, there might actually be someone out there stronger than you." Daisuke said. Ranma's eye twitched for a moment, before he sighed and stretched. Ranma stood from where he was sitting, trying to vacate the conversation as fast as possible. With that kind of talk you would think they wanted him to fight this guy or something.
'Don't get me wrong,' Ranma thought to himself, 'I would love to have a challenging fight.' the way people were talking about this guy. The thing was, Ranma knew who this demon was, or at least, knew the face under the mask. In the newspaper that Hiroshi had brought had an actual picture of this demon of japan and Ranma recognized the suit. It was that guy he dragged to Doctor Tofu's clinic.
That was part of why he didn't want to be a part of the conversation. He didn't think that the kid would give him much of a fight. He may weigh a lot, but that didn't mean he could win a one on one fight. And Ranma wasn't going to go looking for him either. No point. He had gotten the call from the good doctor about two days ago that the kid was up and about, but when he had gotten there to meet the person he saved, he learned that the boy had already left. Not much for introductions, Ranma supposed. He left the classroom, made his way up to the roof of the building and just stared off the side. It was a nice view after all. Ranma wasn't usually up here because of Kuno, but on days like today, he was willing to take a chance. Looking about, he could see most of the students heading home for the day, some hanging out with their friends. Somewhere making their way over to the buildings on the campus of Furinkan highschool. Taking in a deep breath, Ranma turned to make his way back down to try and get his stuff. If nothing crazy happens he might get home on time without someone trying to fight him.
Gathering his stuff, he met Akane by the front gate. She was just a head shorter than he was, with short blue hair and wearing her normal blue dress. "Took you long enough." she quipped.
"Ya? Well why did you wait then?" Ranma asked, his eye brow raised.
Akane sighed before turning and beginning the trek to their shared home. "I waited to talk to you before we got home." she said. "The whole house is worried about your Ranma."
"Oh ya?" Ranma said, his voice doubtful. "I highly doubt that."
Akane turned to look in the face, a look of concern on his face. "I'm serious, Ranma. Were worried. After tofu called the house, you've been acting differently."
Ranma placed his pinky in his ear. Was he hearing this right? Akane was being nice? When did that start? "I haven't been acting weird. Just means you all weren't paying attention." he barked back.
Akane's face contorted for a minute with anger before she took a deep breath. She turned on her heels and began marching away, "well fine! If you think we don't care then go right ahead. Because you're right." ah there she was. Ranma was worried there for a second. As the two walked, the air was silent. Nothing crazy. Ranma smiled slightly to himself. Would he actually get there without a fight? As the two walked, they arrived at a bend, leading to another district. Off in the distance they could hear honking. Then they saw why. Running their way was a group of people, four to be exact. Each was wearing some kind of ski mask. They looked terrified. Akane and Ranma both blinked in surprise as what they saw next confused them to no end.
Behind the four was a man, dressed in green with large black tendrils flowing from his back like spider legs. In a flash, a tendril raced out and grabbed one of the men who were running from him. The tendril wrapped around his middle and properly threw him into the guy in the front. It hit its mark and the two fell forward, with a third guy tripping over them. The last one watched in terror before continuing his run from the green figure. Just like the first guy, a black tendril raced out and grabbed the guy before slamming him into the pile. Ranma and Akane were close enough to see the guy's eyes in his mask. Underneath his mask, Ranma could see a pair of shining blue eyes.
"Ranma…" Akane started, her voice quivering.
"The demon of japan." Ranma whispered to himself. Maybe he should have been paying attention to what his friends were saying. He could feel it. The need to be the best. To win. He felt a smile grow on his face. The want. The need to be superior. Without hesitation he started to run towards the body of people.
"Ranma!" Akane shouted, trying to reach for him before following after him. The figure looked up, seeing the two running toward him.
He held up a hand, the black tendrils on his back disappearing. "Stop!" he shouted. Almost on command, the two stopped. "These four were caught robbing a convenience store. I'm just stopping them from getting away."
Ranma looked from the group to the man before getting into a combative stance. "I don't care about that. I'm here to see just how strong you really are." crouching low, he held his arms in front of him, ready for a fight.
"Well I'm not." the man said, pulling out some kind of cord from his belt. He wrapped the four up before once more a black tendril lifted them to a lamp post and tied them to it.
Ranma could feel his eye twitch. Someone turning down a fight? That was unheard of! "Hey buddy, are you some kind of coward or what!? I dragged you to Doctor Tofu's clinic, so you owe me!"
The man's head turned back to look at Ranma, the blue glint still visible in the mask. "So, you were the one to take me to Tofu Ono's. I thank you, but I don't have the time." he said, before he started to do squats right there in the middle of the street.
Ranma could feel himself growling now in frustration. "Well, if i would have known you were going to be so disrespectful i would have let you hit the ground!" The next couple of seconds went in a blur, the words left Ranma's mouth, Akane gasped, and the man turned to glare at Ranma, now fully facing him. Ranma had the urge to slap himself in the face. He knew he wouldn't do that, but he was trying to get this guy to fight him. Once more the Saotome Foot in mouth Technique at its finest.
"You would stand by and let someone get hurt? For what? Refusing to fight you?" the boy said. His clothes almost seemed to move in the breeze as his gaze flickered to the girl behind Ranma. Ranma realized why he was looking because Akane was shaking.
"Ranma, please… don't." Akane begged. And for the first time, Ranma stopped for a moment. She never begged him not to do something. Not in that tone, at least. Turning to the boy again, he could see he was once more doing squats.
He thought for one moment, actually considered what he was doing before he turned back to the boy. He could still hear the words coming from his friend from earlier, 'ya man, there might actually be someone stronger than you.' he grit his teeth. "No. I wouldn't, but I'm not going to let someone parade around like they're stronger than me."
The boy sighed, whispered something to himself before stopping himself. He spread his feet apart, looked Ranma square in the eye and said, "fine. One fight."
Ranma felt his face break into a large smile, knowing he could prove he was still the strongest and Akane could be his witness! He charged forward, pulling his fist back to strike. However, Ranma never got that chance. The boy knelt to the ground in a runners position for a moment and then like a crack of lightning, he zipped forward, faster than Ranma or Akane could see. This was where Ranma realized why he was called the demon of Japan, because he was so fast your eye couldn't catch him and when you did, you were already done. Ranma felt the boy's fist in his stomach, a pain so intense he felt spit and saliva fly from his mouth.
One shot, that was all it took to take Ranma down. He dropped to his knees, trying to take in as much air as he could. The boys hood flapped in the breeze for a moment before he knelt down. "I'm sorry." was all he said before standing up again. Akane was shacking, her hand to her mouth. "Where do you two live?" he asked her, hoping the two lived together.
"We… we… we live in the Tendo dojo." she said, her voice stuttering. The boy sighed before he reached up and took off the mask. Revealing his rather plan looking face, with freckles that lined his face and his green hair.
"My name is Izuku Midoriya. I'm sorry about this." he said, giving a little bow. Akane felt herself calming down, seeing that the person behind the hood wasn't some kind of monster. "You still helped me, allow me to return the favor in kind." he said before picking ranma up from the ground, slinging his arm over Izukus shoulder. "Lead the way, miss…" he stopped for a moment.
"Akane. Akane Tendo." Akane said. "Is he going to be ok?" she asked, pointing at Ranma, who was still gasping for breath.
Izuku looked him over before nodding. "Yes, I think so. Just some R&R should do it, I think." he carried Ranma aways before Ranma began to be able to walk on his own. He was stumbling for a bit, barely able to walk in a straight line before needing help, but he was getting there. "Are you ok?"
Ranma looked into the face of the boy he had saved, at the boy who had just kicked his ass. "Ya, ill be fine. Don't think I'm done with you, though." he grunted, holding the center of his stomach.
"I'll be honest, I'm surprised you managed to stay awake. Most people pass out when I manage to hit them at Faux 100 percent." IZuku said, a look of wonder on his face. It was true, he had been charging Fa Jin, jumped to 45 percent and forgot to tone it down when he launched himself at Ranma. At first he had thought he had killed the youth, but when he was weezing, Izuku realized he managed to take the attack head on. The fact he was recovering this fast ment that he was either extremely stubborn or used to battle.
"This one might be worth watching for a while." sixth said in his head. "A strong power that could send you back." izuku simply nodded to himself.
"That's Ranma for you." Akane said, a small smile on her face. "Too stubborn to quit."
"Is he now?" Izuku said, letting Ranma walk a couple of steps before helping him up. "You must care for him a lot."
Akane's face blushed before shaking her head. "No, you have the wrong idea." she said, waving her hands in front of herself in denial.
Izuku chuckled. Ranma was finally walking without assistance. "Sorry, sorry, im kind of new to Nerima. I have heard a bunch of rumors though." he said, walking along the two. Just to insure they got home safely.
As they walked, Akane couldn't help thinking, 'this guy isn't some kind of demon. He's just trying to help.' as the three walked, Izuku stopped for a moment, looking to the sky, something was bugging him. That glint in his eye was back. Ranma and akane both turned to see what was stopping them, only to find themselves being pulled along by Izuku. He pulled them a full block away from where they were as he swiftly pivoted back to look behind where they were.
Standing in the center of the street was Ryoga, umbrella in hand. Izuku placed himself in front of Ranma and Akane, making sure to shield them with his body. Ryoga looked surprised at first before turning to where they had moved to. "How… how in the hell did you move so fast!?" he shouted, pointing his umbrella at Izuku.
"Why did you attack me?" Izuku asked, his arms in front of his face.
"I wasn't aiming for you, stupid! I was aiming for Ranma!" Ryoga shouted, his grip on the umbrella tightening. "Had you not moved so fast, I could have gotten him!"
"By sneak attacking a defenseless opponent?" izuku shouted back.
"Hey!" Ranma shouted indifferently, only for Akane to elbow him in the stomach, specifically where izuku had just punched him not ten minutes ago, his eyes went wide before falling to his knees, his pride stung.
Ryoga raised the umbrella up and onto his shoulders, "and what? You think Ranma wouldn't stoop to such a low? I overheard your conversation between the two of you, you know he's not a good person! He's the lowest of the low!" he shouted, swinging the umbrella. "All I'm doing is ridding the world of someone who isn't worth the time!"
Akane looked between the two before finally standing up and shouting, "Ryoga! Stop it!"
Ryoga's demeanor immediately changed when he spotted Akane, a look of shock plastered across his face. "Akane, what are you doing here!?" he shouted, pointing to Akane with his free hand. His face was fully red from blushing. Izuku picked up on this detail and noticed his danger sense was slowly easing off. Not completely mind, but enough for him to stand straighter.
"I was on my way home, Ryoga." Akane said, her voice gentle. "Can Ranma and you not fight today? Please?"
Ryoga placed his hand upon his chin for a moment before he sighed. "Fine, but I will come back, Ranma! Just you wait!" he shouted as he turned where he stood and ran.
"Wait!" Izuku shouted, but was completely ignored. "Man, I could not get a solid read on that guy. Did he want to know how I moved so fast or not?" sighing, he turned back to his walking companions for the night. "Well, no matter, let's get you two home safely." Ranma had to pick himself up from the ground again, refusing help from Izuku this time. Izuku shook his head as Akane and Ranma led the way to their home.
"There's one in every world, I swear." Izuku thought to himself, thinking of a certain explosive blond.
A/N: So that's chapter 2! And I actually got a couple of reviews on my last chapter! So let's get to answering those, shall we?
Guest: I would of thought Izuku would be weaker due to his strength and speed being unrefined
Kain: Well, the thought process is that after the fight with Nagant, it didn't take very long for Izuku to use FaJin and 45 Percent of his power to make a fake (Or Faux) one hundred percent, which is rather strong. Izuku is coming from a world where quirks and powers can be or do anything. With a series like Ranma ½ that dabbles in the supernatural but still has a hard limitation on martial arts and skill, the whole point of this story is to ask the question, can skill beat raw strength? As of right now, no, but once Ranma gets a bearing on Izuku's limit and what he can do, Ranma won't have any problem catching up. He's just gotta get there first. Thanks for the review!
Invitado: Fair warning to you too, don't screw it up, there's too much fanfic about this that they already did.
Kain: Thanks for the warning, however I know no matter what I do, someone's going to get mad at me. My hero's fan base is one that is rather loud about its opinion (believe me, I am to) and Ranma ½'s fanbase is all over the place (kind of like the Anime). So I'm not banking on claiming I'm make an 'original' story (after all, most story's aren't) rather I am trying to tell a story that I think would be interesting to explore. I'm not coming in here claiming I am the end all be all of storytelling, I just want to tell a story that is interesting, ya know? So thanks for the review!
Mad Thought: a good start, but I'd like to see more before i give my opinion. also will one of the girls switch to Izuku?
Kain: ah man! I got a good start! I love the positivity. also, I get it. you don't want to give your opinion on something when its just starting out, but I appreciate it none the less. also, you raised a question that I knew was going to come up. is one of the girls going to fall for Izuku? honestly, I have no idea. if people want to see it, I wouldn't have any trouble writing it (after all I have full control of the train, so I could make it crash and burn on accident). I think if I was going to add it, I would have it be Ukyo (who is my personal favorite female character in the Ranma 1/2 universe), but if someone makes a strong case for any of the other girls, I'm willing to hear them out at the very least. Thanks for the review and early faith!
That all being said! Thanks y'all for reading. When I published this story's first chapter, it kind of blew up and I'm actually kind of proud of that! Updates will be fairly sporadic as my schedule right now is all over the place (mainly trying to find a new job). Plus, I feel I need to give some context, this story takes place during the Vigilante arc of My hero and during the later parts of season 2 of Ranma. yes that far back. Because if I don't, I won't really have much to work with sense the characters will have done everything. not much interesting stuff happens in the latter season of the anime. plus i have never once touch the manga, so I'm not going to write about something I don't have experience with. I have read the My hero Manga (mostly because i got tired of waiting for the Anime).
